I can comine shipping based on how many items are in the cart, and characteristics of the item being added. But not both. I need the script to combine shipping based on how many items are in the cart, as well as the item name of the item being added to the cart. I assume I need to check the cart quantity in 1 function, then have it call 1 of 2 other functions based on how many items are in the cart. The 2nd function would charge the shipping based on the item name. I don't know if the code is wrong, and where I should put the 2 additional functions I am adding. It isn't working though. I am adding 2 ways I have tried below. Code: me.shipping = function(){ switch(me.quantity){ case '0': return 0; break; case '1': return oneItemInCart(); break; default: otherNumber; return moreThanOneItemInCart(); break; } function oneItemInCart(); { if(item.name) { if(item.name.match = "Cricut Cartridge") return 4.39 else if(item.name.match = "Glitter") return 5.00 else return quantity*0.00; } } function moreThanOneItemInCart(); { if(item.name) { if(item.name.match = "Cricut Cartridge") return item.quantity*3.00-3.00+4.39 if(item.name.match = "Glitter") return item.quantity*4.00-4.00+5.00 else return quantity*0.00; } } Code: me.shipping = function(){ if( parseInt(me.quantity,10)===0 ) return 0; else if( parseInt(me.quantity,10)===1) return oneItemInCart(); else if( parseInt(me.quantity,10) > 1) return moreThanOneItemInCart(); else return quantity*0.00; function oneItemInCart(); { if(item.name) { if(item.name.match = "Cricut Cartridge") return 4.39 else if(item.name.match = "Glitter") return 5.00 else return quantity*0.00; } } function moreThanOneItemInCart(); { if(item.name) { if(item.name.match = "Cricut Cartridge") return item.quantity*3.00-3.00+4.39 if(item.name.match = "Glitter") return item.quantity*4.00-4.00+5.00 else return quantity*0.00; } } Here is the original document - the part I edited is the me.shipping part http://simplecartjs.com/ Hello, I am hoping someone can help me with following search form. As you can see I have created a form but I don't know how to fix the coding so when a user select a category it will add a different hidden filed for that option for example: When the user selects category "Men" the hidden filed Code: <INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="REFERRER" VALUE="http://men.com/acatalog/"> will be added and when the user selects category "Kids" the hidden filed Code: <INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="REFERRER" VALUE="http://kids.com/acatalog/"> will be added and so on... Here is my form coding I am using: Code: <form name="simplesearch" method="get" action="" onsubmit="ssite=document.getElementById('sitelist');this.action=ssite.options[ssite.selectedIndex].value;return true;"> <input type="hidden" name="page" value="search" /> <input type="hidden" name="PR" value="-1" /> <input type="hidden" name="TB" value="A" /> <input type="hidden" name="NOLOGIN" value="1" /><input align="top" class="main_search_box" name="SS" type="text" value="search for ..." onfocus="this.value='';"> Search within: <select id="sitelist"> <option value="">Select Catagory</option> <option value="http://kids.com/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl">kids</option> <option value="http://men.com/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl">men</option> <option value="http://women.com/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl">women</option> </select><input type="submit" class="button" name="ACTION" value="Go!"> </form> Also I have one more question how do I make the "Select Catagory" a Must Choose and if not chosen to give message that say"Please Select a Category" Thank you in advance for any help you can give me... I am a bigginer so please go easy on me Hi JS Experts, I am working on a class registration system that requires students to register for a main class (101, 102 or 103). The student is supposed to select one main course as well as provide a second choice in case the first is not available. I have two dropdown select fields to capture data 1) Choice -1: 101 / 102 / 103 ( Student needs to select one - Reading the classID from classes table) 2) Choice -2: 101 / 102 / 103 ( If student selects 101 in Choice-1 then the only classes available under Choice-2 should be 102 or 103). How can I accomplish the above? Further to this there are two fields on the form where I would like to auto populate based on what they have selected in Choice-1 and Choice-2. For Example: If a parent selects choice1: 101 the child Choice1 field should autopopulate with 100. If a parent selects Choice2: 201 the child Choice2 field should autopopulate with 200 Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks Vinny Hello, I am trying to make a simple code that has a selection list (with the choice fruit or veggie). When the user chooses fruit, the second list displays the options apple, orange, banana. When the user changes their choice to veggie, the second select list then contains carrot, corn, potatoes (and the apple, orange, banana disappear). I need some advice on how to do this Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>Untitled</title> </head> <body> <form name = "form1"> <fieldset> <legend>Fruit or Veggie</legend> <select name = "S1"> <option name = "fruit">Fruit </option> <option name = "veggie">Veggie</option> </select> <select name = "S2" </select> </fieldset> </form> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> ??? </script> </body> </html> I currently have two html select list boxes side by side on a form, two buttons in between the boxes to move items from list box to the other, and a javascript function to control the movement of the items from one box to the other. Here is the javascript: Code: function MoveSelected(from, to) { var lstFrom = $(from); var lstTo = $(to); for (var i = 0; i<lstFrom.length;i++) { if ( lstFrom[i].selected ) { var elOptNew = document.createElement('option'); elOptNew.text = lstFrom[i].text; elOptNew.value = lstFrom[i].value; try { lstTo.add(elOptNew, null); // standards compliant; doesn't work in IE } catch(ex) { lstTo.add(elOptNew); // IE only } } } for (var i = lstFrom.length-1; i>=0;i--) { if ( lstFrom[i].selected ) { lstFrom.options[i] = null; } } } Here are the two html form select list boxes (lstAvailProd is the starting list box that lists the initial data and lstSelectProd is the destination list box): Code: <td width="10%" valign="center"> <a href="javascript: MoveSelected('lstAvailProd','lstSelectProd');"><IMG SRC="buttons/right_arrow.gif" style="padding-bottom: 2px;" /></a><br /><br /> <a href="javascript: MoveSelected('lstSelectProd','lstAvailProd');"><IMG SRC="buttons/left_arrow.gif" /></a> </td> I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I could modify my code to allow for the selection of all the data in the starting list box by only selecting and moving the first item in the list to the destination list box? The first item is called "All Products", so instead of actually selecting every product in the starting list and moving them to the destination list, I would like the code to see that if the "All Products" list item is moved to the destination list, move all the other list items in the destination list back to the starting list. Here's an example of what the code for each list box looks like: Starting List Box: Code: <select name="lstAvailProd" id="lstAvailProd" multiple="true" size="8" style="width: 250px;"> <option value="-1">{All Products}</option> <option value="1">Product 1</option> <option value="2">Product 2</option> <option value="3">Product 3</option> <option value="4">Product 4</option> <option value="5">Product 5</option> </select> Destination List Box: Code: <select name="lstSelectProd" id="lstSelectProd" multiple="true" size="8" style="width: 250px;"> </select> Any help would be appreciated, thanks!! Hello all, I am having a problem, and since I am quite new in the Javascript code I hope somebody can help me here. This is my current code: Code: <select class="Form" name="opties"> <option value="AAA">AAA</option> <option value="BBB">BBB</option> <option value="SLX" selected>Selecteer optie</option> </select> Now my intention is the following: When the option with value SLX gets selected it needs to get a special css style. It is not a problem to give the option this style in the list itself, but once selected it always changes to the original style (standard font and color) in Chrome and Mozilla. Now I searched on the net and sometimes I find things like this: Code: function displayOption(divName) { document.getElementById(divName).innerText=document.form1.select1.options[document.form1.select1.selectedIndex].value; } <select class="Form" name="opties" onChange="displayOption('div1');"> <option value="AAA">AAA</option> <option value="BBB">BBB</option> <option value="SLX" selected>Selecteer optie</option> </select> But I suppose this always changes the style of the selected item? It only needs to change when the option SLX is chosen... Anyone knows how to solve this problem? Hiya! I'm a total JS beginner, so any help is appreciated. I've created the simple select box below that will "onchange" when an item is selected. I'm trying to apply the "selected" or "selected="selected" attribute to items that are chosen from the menu. Example: The goal is to show " <option value="/1" selected="selected"> " when page "/1" is chosen and to show <option value="/1"> when /1 is not the current page. I've follow a few simple tutorials with no luck and even tried php conditionals to trigger the "selected" attribute with no luck. Any feedback is GREATLY appreciated, thank you! Code: <form name="guideform" method="get"> <select class="wptdb_jumpbar_select" name="mymenu" onChange="window.location=document.guideform.mymenu.options[document.guideform.mymenu.selectedIndex].value"> <option value="/1">Home Page #1</option> <option value="/2">Home Page #2</option> <option value="/3">Home Page #3</option> <option value="/4">Home Page #4</option> </select> </form> Hi, I have two dropdown lists with the second one being dependent on the selection in the first. Options in list 1: 1,3 or 4 List two should be enabled when 3 or 4 is selected in list 1. So far so good, managed to get it to work with only one set of lists, but I actually have 18 of those sets in this form: Code: <select name="fw[$i]" id="fw[$i]"> <option value="1">FWH</option> <option value="3">links</option> <option value="4">rechts</option> <option value="0" selected></option> </select><br /> <select name="lie[$i]" id="lie[$i]" disabled="disabled" onchange="showBox($i,xxx);"> <option value="0" selected>---</option> <option value="1">gut</option> <option value="2">schlecht</option> <option value="3">Strafschlag</option> <option value="4">OB</option> </select> $i is my index generated by my PHP script and runs from 1 to 18. Everything works just fine as long as the index is not in play. With the index my function breaks, most probably due to my inability to extract the second parameter (xxx above) from the selection field. Here's my function, there could be something wrong there too with how exactly to specify the proper dropdown list to enable. Code: function showBox(field, val) { if (val > 1) { var box = 'lie[' + field + ']'; document.form1.box.disabled == false; } else { document.form1.box.disabled == true; } } Finally, I'm not that adept in javascript programming, more like a trial and error guy, how has hit the wall with this problem. Thanks in advance! Joe Hi, I have a table displaying records from query, now i want to have a small dropdown listbox on the top right corner called "sort by". The list index would be "date modified", "Price(High-low)" and "Price(Low-High)". I want my order by clause in my SQL to change according to the values in the dropdownlistbox. Code: SELECT * FROM Cars ORDER BY date modified How can i pass my selected value from the listbox to my PHP SQL statement? Thanks Hi, How can I auto populate the data by dropdown selected? and my dropdown result already appear as well, the code as following: PHP Code: <?php echo '<tr> <td>'.$customer_data.'</td> <td><select name="customer_id">'; foreach ($customers as $customer) { if ($customer['customer_id'] == $customer_id) { echo '<option value="'.$customer['customer_id'].'" selected="selected">'.$customer['name'].'</option>'; } else { echo '<option value="'.$customer['customer_id'].'">'.$customer['name'].'</option>'; } } echo '</select> </td> </tr>'; ?> and the result of dropdown above listed as admin customer1 FREE loaded from following db PHP Code: INSERT INTO `my_customer` (`customer_id`, `name`, `firstname`, `lastname`) VALUES (8, 'admin', '', ''), (6, 'customer1', 'ok', ''), (7, 'FREE', 'marj', 'om'); so whenever dropdown selected i want the all data below: PHP Code: <tr> <td><?php echo $firstname; ?></td> <td><?php echo $lastname; ?></td> </tr> also auto populate, it seem need javascript/ajax/jquery to fixed it, I was Wondering if someone could help me, and thanks in advance Javascript novice here looking to create a dynamic dropdown based on date. It's a list of preset prices that will change each month to reflect a pro-rated system. Any thoughts/examples on how I would go about setting this up using javascript would be much appreciated. Thanks. Here's what I need: In September, the dropdown will display these prices Code: <option value="100">Product 1</option> <option value="150">Product 2</option> <option value="200">Product 3</option> In October, the dropdown will display these prices <option value="50">Product 1</option> <option value="100">Product 2</option> <option value="150">Product 3</option> Hi, i am building a website form which I would like the user to select a product of interest. Some products are three tiered and some are two tiered. 1. Example of three tier (3 dropdowns required only): Scooters (dropdown 1) Three Wheel Scooters (dropdown 2) Delux 503S Bird Scooter (dropdown 3) 2. Example of two tier (2 dropdowns required only): Standing Bikes (dropdown 1) Children 300 Series (dropdown 2) If the user wants to submit their interest for one of the products, I need to have at most 3 dropdown menus. So in Example 1, I would have 3 dropdowns in my form. Dropdown 1: Scooters Dropdown 2: Three Wheel Scooters Dropdown 3: Delux 503S Bird Scooter In Example 2, I would only need to use the first 2 dropdown menus. (Obviously the first dropdown would contain 'Scooters' and 'Standing Bikes' in the menu list) The below code is perfect except, I would like to alter the code so that the second and third dropdowns are hidden until a selection from the first drop down is made. Once for example, 'Standing Bikes' is selected from the first dropdown menu, the second dropdown menu appears and the third remains hidden due to the fact that it is not required. If I selected Scooters from the first dropdown menu, the second dropdown would appear listing all items associated with this and at this point the third dropdown menu is hidden. If i select 'Three Wheel Scooter' from the second dropdown the third dropdown menu now appears listing all Three wheel Scooters such as 'Delux 503S Bird Scooter'. I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you require clarrification. Hi, On a registration form I have 4 fields that are all dropdown select fields. NAME, CLASS-1, CLASS-2, CODE 1) I would like to activate the CLASS-1, CLASS-2, CODE fields only if the NAME IS Selected from the dropdown. 2) Also would like to make the CLASS-1, CLASS-2 as required fields if the NAME is selected from the dropdown. How can I achieve this? Can I use some kind of a server event to activate / deactivate the fields on the form? Please advice Thanks Vinny Sorry if I'm describing this wrong. But I was wondering if there was any premade dropdown menu which opens based on what position you are on the page. For example, when I'm on the top of the page and hover the mouse over the dropdown menu, the menu opens upward instead of downward because the navigation is mid-screen. But if I was to be more than halfway across the screen and still see the navigation as it was on top of the screen and hover the mouse over it, the dropdown menu opens downward as oppose to up. I hope I explained that right or at least if it sounds right to someone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you could direct me to a resource you may know of. Thank you for your time. I hope someone can help me. I am having a problem with a dropdown selection box. I think Javascript is the way to solve it, but I am unfamiliar with the language, any help would be much appreciated. My drop down box selection box is created dynamically with data from a mysql database. It is a list of artists/musicians. I have 1 column in the db table called artist_name and another called artist_id. The sql query selects both of these columns and displays artist names in the select box. What I need is for the artist_id to be sent along with whichever artist is selected in the select box to the next page upon submitting the form. I put in a input field, which I will make hidden eventually. But I want the input field to change to whatever the correct id is when the select box is changed. I am thinking that the way to do this would be with a javascript onchange event. Will this work ? If so I need help with the code. I have searched for examples online and while somewhat helpful, I am such a newbie with Javascript that I could not figure out how to modify the examples to what I need. Here is the php/mysql code I have so far: PHP Code: $query4 = "SELECT artist_id,artist_name FROM artists ORDER BY artist_name"; $result4 = mysql_query($query4) or die(mysql_error()); echo "<select name='artist'> <option value=''>Select Artist</option>"; while($row=mysql_fetch_array($result4)) { $artist_id=$row['artist_id']; echo "<option value='". $row['artist_name'] ."'>". $row['artist_name'] ."</option>"; } echo "</select> <input type='text' name='artist_id' id='artist_id' size='5' class='textfield' value='$artist_id'>"; How can I hide/disable the submit button if the name Todd is selected?
