JavaScript - Alert The Destination Of Form
I have a form which I want to see where it's directing.
Code: onclick="alert(window.location);" That doesn't seem correct. How do I do it? Similar TutorialsI inherited a calculator form using javascript that passes the form field data to a "lead mailbox" .asp page on a different site, and that site would then email/forward the salesman the data. The calculator also passes the calculated data to the next page for the user and gives them their calculated loan range. What I would like to do is not send this data to the "lead mailbox" site but instead send the data via Gmail (if possible) to the salesman as he wants to generate leads outside the company and not use the "lead mailbox". There are two lines of code that specify where to send the data (to the "lead mailbox" site) but I don't know how the receiving page is setup to receive the form data fields as it is https: (SSL) and I don't have access to that code. Everything works perfect with the code...I just want to send the data to a new location...but not sure how or if I can pass the data fields to a Gmail account like the salesman would like. Thanks for any help you can provide!! Normally sending form data is easy...but I inherited this and it was custom written javascript. Code: {document.contact.action = "https://www.othersitemailbox.com/post.aspx?account=EXN01&source=PTPPC-QQ"; document.contact.landing.value = "http://www.best-mortgage-programs.com/QQ.html?"+link} I have "blurred/changed" out the actual landing page value and actual URL of the https: address for privacy reasons... Thanks!! I want have an alert pop up if the email is invalid and have the form not post. I have tried countless ways but cannot figure it out. No matter what I do, it always posts. Thanks in advance for the help. Code: <html> <head> <script language = "Javascript"> function echeck(str) { var at = "@" var dot = "." var lat = str.indexOf(at) var lstr = str.length var ldot = str.indexOf(dot) if(str.indexOf(at) == -1) { alert("Invalid E-mail ID") return false } if(str.indexOf(at) == -1 || str.indexOf(at) == 0 || str.indexOf(at) == lstr) { alert("Invalid E-mail ID") return false } if(str.indexOf(dot) == -1 || str.indexOf(dot) == 0 || str.indexOf(dot) == lstr) { alert("Invalid E-mail ID") return false } if(str.indexOf(at, (lat + 1)) != -1) { alert("Invalid E-mail ID") return false } if(str.substring(lat - 1, lat) == dot || str.substring(lat + 1, lat + 2) == dot) { alert("Invalid E-mail ID") return false } if(str.indexOf(dot, (lat + 2)) == -1) { alert("Invalid E-mail ID") return false } if(str.indexOf(" ") != -1) { alert("Invalid E-mail ID") return false } return true } function ValidateForm() { Var emailID = document.frmSample.txtEmail if((emailID.value == null) || (emailID.value == "")) { alert("Please Enter your Email ID") emailID.focus() return false } if(echeck(emailID.value) == false) { emailID.value = "" emailID.focus() return false } return true } </script> <form name = "frmSample" action = "https://www.pipelinedeals.com/web_lead" onsubmit = "return validateForm();" method = "post"> <input type = "hidden" name = "w2lid" value = "removed for privacy" /> <input type = "hidden" name = "thank_you_page" value = "http://www.fatsfixedassettracking.com/thanks.html"/> <p>Enter email address: <input type = "text" name = "txtEmail"> </p> <p><input type = "submit" name = "Submit" value = "Submit"></p> </form> </head> </html> If my php variable, (which is retrieved from a mysql table in the php code, not shown) is equal to "1", that means the member is not eligible to submit the form, so I want an alert() to say "member not eligible!". Else, I want it to continue to submit the form. Here is my code (which I can't seem to get to work): <head> <script src="js/jquery-1.4.2.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function ismaxlength(obj){ var mlength=obj.getAttribute? parseInt(obj.getAttribute("maxlength")) : "" if (obj.getAttribute && obj.value.length>mlength) obj.value=obj.value.substring(0,mlength) } //this first script is for something else, to check the max length of characters in a text area </script> //here is the script in question <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var mem_eligible = "<?= $is_mem_eligible ?>"; if (mem_eligible == "1") { function MoveOn() { alert('You are not yet eligible, please try again tomorrow!'); } } --> </script> </head> <form name="myform" action="postform.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <div> <input type="submit" name="Submit2" value="Submit Entries" onclick="MoveOn()"/> </div> </form> Please help, thanks! June Hello, I'll be honest I dont know much about javascript so hopefully one of you lovely people can help. My issue is I would like to have this code validate my radio buttons on my form and also have an onscreen pop-up in the case that the user is exiting the page without filling out the form. I have had both of these peices of code working...but when I put both of them on the page the pop-up will override the validation script, and I don't wish to have the pop-up, pop-up when the user hits the submit button. Here are my pieces of code: Inside my head tag: Code: <script language="JavaScript"> function closeIt() { return "\n********************************************\nWAIT! WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!\n********************************************\n\nDon't leave just yet...\n\nDon't worry - We will never rent, sell or\nshare your contact information, with\nanyone else. We respect your privacy\nand hate spam too!\n\n"; } window.onbeforeunload = closeIt; </script> <script language="JavaScript"> function valbutton(thisform) { // place any other field validations that you require here // validate myradiobuttons myOption = -1; for (i=thisform.infusion_option_0.length-1; i > -1; i--) { if (thisform.infusion_option_0[i].checked) { myOption = i; i = -1; } } if (myOption == -1) { alert("You must select an event city date"); return false; } // place any other field validations that you require here thisform.submit(); // this line submits the form after validation } </script> And then for my form and submit code I have: Code: <form name="myform" action="https://mydomain.com/AddForms/processFormSecure.jsp" method='POST' onSubmit="return NoneWithCheck();"> <input id="Submit" name="Submit" type="submit" value="Submit" onClick="valbutton(myform);return false;" /></form> Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to set a variable to send through with my form using the confirm alert box. Please let me know. Much appreciated. However, prototype.js won't load properly, because the following error occurs in prototype.js: destination is undefined on the following line (3042): destination[property] = value.methodize(); The function this line is in is: Code: function copy(methods, destination, onlyIfAbsent) { onlyIfAbsent = onlyIfAbsent || false; for (var property in methods) { var value = methods[property]; if (!Object.isFunction(value)) continue; if (!onlyIfAbsent || !(property in destination)) destination[property] = value.methodize(); } } I've tried using versions 1.6.0 all the way up to 1.6.1, but I still get the same error. Can someone suggest what this error could be caused by and possible fixes? Debbie Hi I have a problem with a form in my site he http://www.21centuryanswers.com/submit.php if no field is filled and you click submit, an alert will be shown, yet the next page will still load! How do I fix it? the code for the form is: <form action="privacy.php" method="post" onsubmit="return checkform(this);"> <fieldset> <center> E-mail: <input type="textfield" name="email" size="60" value="" /><br/></br> Question: <input type="textfield" name="question" size="70" value="" /><br/><br/> <input type="submit" value = "Submit"/> </center> </fieldset> </form> and here is the validation script: <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> <!-- function checkform ( form ) { // ** START ** if (form.email.value == "") { alert( "Please enter your email." ); form.author.focus(); return false ; } if (form.question.value == "") { alert( "Please enter the question." ); form.title.focus(); return false ; } // ** END ** return true ; } //--> </script> Please help! I have a form that the my client wants their users to confirm before it gets submitted to them. So basically what I need to make happen is: the first time the Submit button gets clicked, it needs to display an inline html message telling the user to double check their info, then when they click again, it will submit the form. How should I get this done? The form is pretty straightforward so far: Code: <p><label for="from">Name:</label><br /> <input type="text" id="name" name="name" size="40" maxlength="35" value="" /></p> <p><label for="from">Address:</label><br /> <input type="text" id="street1" name="street1" size="40" maxlength="100" value="" /></p> <p><label for="from">City:</label> <input type="text" id="city" name="city" size="8" maxlength="35" value="" /> <label for="from">State:</label> <input type="text" id="state" name="state" size="3" maxlength="2" value="CA" /> <label for="from">Zip:</label> <input type="text" id="postalcode" name="postalcode" size="5" maxlength="5" value="" /></p> <p><label for="from">Phone:</label><br /> <input type="text" id="phone1" name="phone1" size="20" maxlength="35" value="" /></p> <p><label for="from">Your Email:</label><br /> <input type="text" id="email" name="email" size="20" maxlength="35" value="" /></p> <p><input name="submit" type='submit' value='Submit Form' /></p> Hi, I have this code: var finalsort="("+getvalue+","numvalue")\n" alert(finalsort) however, it is then alerted three seperate times (as it is in a for loop) but i would like this to be displayed in an alert: (david,5) (james,3) (tom,1) How would I do this, am I doing something wrong with the \n? thanks All, I have the following code: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> alert("This picture has received more then 10 down votes so it is now being deleted. You will be redirected back to the pictures page!"); </script> <? echo "<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"2;url=http://website.com/pictures.php\">"; ?> This is just in the code. I thought it would just execute this but it doesn't. I can't have it appear on a button event or an onload since this snipped gets executed with AJAX. How can I make it appear? Thanks in advance! I am validating the value in a text area onBlur. If the value is not good the alert box comes up twice. Is there a way to correct this? Code: <html> <head> <meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>Untitled</title> <script type="text/javascript"> function verify_score(val1) { var temp = document.getElementById(val1) if(temp.value == "AF"|| temp.value == "HF" || (temp.value >=0 && temp.value <=17)) {return} else{ alert("Value entered is not OK. Accetable values a 0 to 17, AF or HF") temp.focus() temp.select() } } </script> </head> <body> <div id="PageDiv" style="position:relative; min-height:100%; margin:auto; width:200px"> <form name="scoresheetform" action=""> <div id="Submitbutton" style="position:absolute; left:52px; top:87px; width:110px; height:33px; z-index:1"> <input type=submit name="Submitbutton" value="Submit Form"></div> <div style="position:absolute; left:9.822px; top:37px; width:45px; height:29px; z-index:2"> <input id="HomePlayer1Rnd6Pnts" name="HomePlayer1Rnd6Pnts" onBlur="verify_score('HomePlayer1Rnd6Pnts')" size=3></div> <div style="position:absolute; left:79.822px; top:37px; width:45px; height:29px; z-index:3"> <input id="HomePlayer1Rnd7Pnts" name="HomePlayer1Rnd7Pnts" onBlur="verify_score('HomePlayer1Rnd7Pnts')" size=3></div> <div id="HomePlayer1TotalPnts" style="position:absolute; left:146px; top:37px; width:45px; height:29px; z-index:4"> <input name="HP1 Total Points" size=3></div> </form> </div> </body> </html> Hi I have create a website where many features do not support IE versions, Can someone help me on javascript code that can alert the user to use Netscape to access my website.. I mean Javscript alert code that will recommend the user to use netscape to access my website .. Any help will be much appreciated This is all php except for the java code I am struggling with. Please advise. I have tried this 2 ways and have spent hours on something that should be simple. I have a string that I am trying to display in an alert box with an onclick method 1: $mystring = "<a href=\"mysite.com\">Click</a>"; this does not work echo "<input type='button' value='Grab Code' onClick=alert('$mystring')>"; nor does this echo "<input type='button' value='Grab Code' onClick=alert('".$mystring."')>"; nor does anything I try. All I want to do is display the value of mystring in an alert box. However, this does work .. echo "<script type='text/javascript'> alert('".$mystring."');</script>"; But I cannot call this from an onclick. Any help is appreciated. Thanks JT The alert at the top of this function will not show... Code: function getXmlHttpRequestObject() { alert("HTTP XML REQUEST!"); var httpxml; if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { // code decent browsers like Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari. And IE7+... httpxml = new XMLHttpRequest(); return httpxml; } else { if (window.ActiveXObject) { //Code for crap like IE httpxml = new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLHTTP'); return httpxml; } else { httpxml = null; } } if (httpxml == null) { document.getElementById('p_status').innerHTML = "Status: Could not create XmlHttpRequest Object, please upgrade your browser!"; return null; } else { return httpxml; } <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta charset="UTF-8"> <title>Color Changer</title> <link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> <script type="text/javascript"> window.alert("The page is loading."); </script> </head> <body> <form> <p>Click the button to turn the page: <input type="button" value="Red" onclick="document.bgColor='red';" window.alert("Background is now red.");> </p> <p>Double click the button to turn the page: <input type="button" value="Green" ondblclick="document.bgColor='green';"></p> <p>Click down on the button to turn the page: <input type="button" value="Orange" onmousedown="document.bgColor='orange';"></p> <p>Release the mouse while on the button to turn the page: <input type="button" value="Blue" onmouseup="document.bgColor='blue';"></p> <p> Black button: <input type="button" value="Black" onmousedown="document.bgColor='black';" onmouseup="document.bgColor='white';"></p> </form> <hr> </body> </html> i need the system to think its getting an alert without actualy presenting an alert on the page. i found this but i guess i dont really understand how it works Code: function foo() { doSomething(); fakeAlert("Alert! Alert!", doSomethingAfterTheAlertIsCleared); } i hate to have to do hacks to get something to work but for some reason my simple js will not work without an alert Code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function process_acount() { alert("about to send data"); document.bbautoreg.submit(); } // --> </script> it works perfectly with the alert and the comment if i remove the alert, it wont work, if i remove the <!-- it wont work, if i have the alert without the comment <!-- it wont work. i thought maybe there might be something wrong with the js interpreter i even changed it from html to php using echo for the js and still the same unless i can get this to work i will have no other choice but to use a fake alert why would having an alert make a dif anyway, seems to me thats just crazy, that itself should have no bearing on if it executes or not. Anyone know why that would matter. Ok, this HAS to be some stupid typo I can't find somewhere or something but I don't see where. Basically the alertbox works just fine when only the show_alert() function and the button calling it are in the code. But neither work if only the alert() function and the button calling that are in the code, nor does it work by itself. However I see no differences in how they are coded unless I am missing something very very simple. Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function show_alert() { alert("I am an alert box!"); } function alert() { alert("again"); } </script> </head> <body> <input type="button" onClick="show_alert()" value="Show alert box" /> <input type="button" onClick="alert()" value="CLICK me" /> </body> </html> thanks this problem has been solved
