JavaScript - Getting Chart Data To Work Within A Function
Hey all i am in need of some help trying to figure out how to pass a string into an array field for a chart. The chart i am using is this [http://www.highcharts.com/]

With the code above, you would think that theDATA would work but it does not display the data within it. Say that theDATA is '2,5,4,7,8,9'. If i had this: Code: data: [2,5,4,7,8,9] Then it would work just fine. But if i use those same numbers... Code: theData = "2,5,4,7,8,9"

the 2 variables I'd like to use a bmires, addedOn I am really new to coding and am trying to include a flowchart that I have created on my site. There is a series of 5 questions with 2 possible answers for each question. Can anyone help me with some coding that would let me show only the first question and based on how they answer that, the flow chart would open up to the second question and once they answer the second question, it opens up to the third question and so on?

Hey guys, I'm beginning to learn javascript, and I've come across functions like the one below in many scripts. I just don't understand the purpose of the parameter! Nothing is being passed into the function when it's being called- so what's the point of specifying an argument??? Code:

I've been trying for several hours to solve this University problem but I'm just unable to get it done. If I remove the function and try this code directly on the array it does work, but when I use the code as it is just like you see - the function shift doesn't change the Array and doesn't shift the values inside one position to the right and I have no clue why. Thanks! Dr. T. I made a 50th anniversary guestbook to add memories/etc about our organization. The people can look at the entries and then if they want to add one of there own, there's a link that should pop up a form in a new for them to add it. I have no idea why this pop is not working in Internet Explorer (both IE6 and 7). It works beautifully in Firefox. I have no idea how you can go wrong with window.open. I'm stuck. Again, only the actual pop up function doesn't work. Everything else seems to be working fine. I included all of my code though even for the tab navigation because the link to the pop up form changes based on what tab they are in (i.e. if they're looking at the past memories tab and click on the link, it takes them to the past memories form). At the moment, the function is working on one object ('myObj'). I laced all my documents into separate divs and i need them all (and seperatly) to load on a random position at start. So i need to write in something that makes this function keep on going for all my objects. It might seem like a very dumb question, but 'm just starting with javascript, so not much of a coder yet. thanks all who can help I'm using jquery right now but I sort of understand what the problem is. I'm making a file manager and when you click on an li tag it will do some action depending on if it's a file type or a folder type. There are 3 important files you should know about. 1. filemanager.php (Where the file managing takes place. Starts by including filemanager_getfile.php and including filemanager.js in the head). 2. filemanager_getfile.php (Information that receives information from the ajax request [the directory to be read] and prints the new file list in <li> tags) 3. filemanager.js (Jquery that processes li clicks) The problem is, when you click on a folder (and it loads the new information from the ajax request) the jquery doesn't check the new li tags when clicked (I'm guessing when you first link the javascript file it has to compile all of the current li information?). Try it for yourself- [removed] Instruction (if it's not already obvious): -Clicking a file selects if. If files are selected and you click the arrow in the file options it will transfer it (not really, but it will later). -Clicking a folder will send an ajax request with the new directory information to be checked and return the html -Clicking the '?' in the file options will display the pages html (I implemented it to debug). I have tried linking the js page every time I include the new directory information, but the js stacks on each other. So if I click on 3 folders and hit the '?' button it will display the page html 3 times. I have a number picker that works fine BUT when I reset the fields to enter another number, the start button will not work. I had to make it so the page reloads in order for the start button to work. This not only makes the site look worse than it already does but it's annoying to wait for the page to reload. I'd like to get all these bugs worked out and work on the site appearance after.
