JavaScript - Random Background Colours For Each Word Entered

I have been working on a project which randomly changes the text font of a word submitted (Color and Size). At present the code works fine, using the below Javascript. Basically, I'm generating a random word with a function; then I'm trying to pass this word down to another function. The problem is, when I pass the word, it changes each time (due to it being randomly generated originally). I'm only calling the function once (via button click), but I'm also calling the function in my code lower down to retrieve the returned variable; and the function seems to be running again and returning a new word from my array. The word changes however. Any help would be greatly received. I want to be able to grab words from a database with javascript. How do I do that?

The script above will allow me to do separate boxes with their own buttons. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Foster Looking for a way to have background music play automatically when my site loads, with the music being randomly picked from a list of several songs.. So each time the page loads, a different song should play.. Can be JavaScript or Flash, whichever way works the best.. Any ideas?
I have 3 background images, and 1 is picked at random to be the background image of the body when loading the page.My code is below. Right now it's just white, can't get any pictures to load. How would i enable colours within a text box? :$ I've looked for a solution to this issue, but it seems like a little different scenario than other situations. I made a system for generating friend requests on Facebook. I have a grid that is 6 x 3, for a total of 18 cells. Each cell has a picture in it, and the picture is linked to the Facebook friend request page. My problem is that since each cell is populated at random from the array, I'm getting lots of repeats. For example, some picutures are in 5 cells, and some are in none. I'm trying to figure out how to make it so that once a picture is used once in the grid, it does not get used again in the same grid. I still want every cell filled at random on each page load, I just want to prevent the repeating. Hi there, Where I work there are certain dates where nothing can be done, certain times where work can be done with caution, and dates where work can be done. I want to put on the site a traffic light that would change colours based on the calendar dates where work can/can't be done. Hi, I am trying to write a small javascript program where I can call the following two functions and store information which a user enters.
