JavaScript - Javascript Function Not Working With Pull Down Menu
I have an function that shoud be activated when the pull down menu in triggerd, the if functions is corresponding to the same menu overig_eenh[]

The most famous of fictional detectives, Sherlock Holmes
first appeared in print in 1887, in stories written by the Scottish author
and physician, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Holmes is famous for his use
of deductive reasoning to solve difficult and complex cases. Almost
all Holmes stories are told in the first-person narration of
Dr. John Watson, Holmes' closest friend and confidant.</p>
<p>Doyle wrote four novels and 56 short stories in the Sherlock Holmes
canon. The first Holmes tale was the novel, <i>A Study in Scarlet</i>,
which chronicled the meeting of Holmes and Watson and covered their
first case together. As Doyle wrote additional tales, the Sherlock Holmes
stories grew in popularity, becoming a regular feature of <i>The
Strand Magazine</i>. Desiring to explore other literary pursuits, Doyle
grew tired of the detective and killed off Holmes in the short story
<i>The Final Problem</i>. However, public acclaim and a desire for more
Holmes stories eventually persuaded Doyle to resurrect the popular
detective, bringing him back in <i>The Adventure of the Empty House</i>.</p>
<p>Doyle's final Holmes story, <i>His Last Bow</i>, appeared in 1914, but
that did not end the public's fascination with Holmes and Watson. Basil
Rathbone brought the character to the silver screen in 14 movies
loosely based on Doyle's original stories. In more recent years,
Jeremy Brett played Holmes to great critical acclaim over four seasons of
the BBC series, <i>The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes</i>. In all, Holmes
has been played by over 70 actors appearing in over 200 films.</p>

The script works fine in Chrome and Firefox, however, the script is not actioned in Explorer. I believe it has something to do with there being , / - within the text I am replacing? When I use the function to replace text with no , / - in the text - it works fine in explorer, however, for example when I try to replace text.. - "Maestro, Visa and other credit/debit cards by Moneybookers" this does not work in explorer.. I'm assuming because of the coma and forward slash. Honestly I've tried everything but just can not get this to work. I am not a JavaScript programmer at all, so I cant really see what I am doing wrong with the following code... Just to explain I have 2 fields on a form that retrieve monetary data from a mysql database. The data is a monetary value e.g. 12.59. Which works fine as normal. I have been asked to hide this value depending on what the customers preferences are set to i.e Show Price = Yes or Show Price = No. Hopefully that makes sense. After lots of deliberation I realised that I couldnt hide the fields because the database called an error saying the price data was missing. So I thought change the field type to a 'password field' and the price data would still be accepted by the database. This thankfully worked and didnt break the php code. So I found some javascript code, chopped and pasted it and came up with the following script. I am using a javascript on a DotNetNuke CMS site to allow the user to choose text/background colour, basically it changes stylesheets. The style sheet changer seems to work on the top menu level items but as soon as you choose a submenu the javascript doesn't seem to work. I don't know anything at all about javascript - can anyone offer any advice how I can get this working on the sub menu pages?
I have a page that loads various "applications" into an iframe inside the main page. One of the applications loaded calls a javascript function that is loaded with the "application" page. It works great in Safari, Chrome & Firefox but error's out in IE8 - "Object doesn't support this action". Anyone know why ? This would indicate that the background choice is not being saved in cookies. But this works locally! I have tried putting the javascript directly onto each page but I still had the same problem. Have cfselect object (id="Decision") with 3 values - Select; Approved; Denied. Have two input buttons, Request Approved (id="approved") and Request Denied (id="denied"). The Approved is visible but disabled. The Denied is not visible. The user needs to select from "Decision" either Approved or Denied before he/she can submit. So when user selects Approved from drop-down I want to enable Request Approved submit button. If user selects Denied from drop-down I want the disabled Request Approved button to not be visible and the Request Denied button to be visible and enabled for submission.
