JavaScript - Launch An Application In Javascript

Hello Everybody,

As all coders have no time I will bring it up directly.

1- We are launching a new website at a small ceremony.
2- The website will have initial page that has a button says "Launch Me".
3- When the official presses the Launch Me button we need it to rename the index file with the official page for the full website we created.

We thought about coding a batch file that will have the FTP details and commands to rename the index file with the Official page, but the problem here is that we don't know how to create such a button that will execute the .bat file on the server side. All what we need is a button or any way that will rename the index file with the official one by pressing a button.

Any tips people?

I have a video on a page, which on a pc or mac, will play inside a standard flash player.

On the iphone, I have setup javascript to detect iphone / ipod, and replace the flash player with an embedded m4v file:

So far so good. I also want to trigger a simple onclick which makes an ajax call a remote PHP file. I have tried ontouchstart instead (see above code) but still no luck.

If I add the onclick to a static image rather than an embed instance, it works fine. But with the embedded video, it's as if the video blocks the onclick event for javascript to pickup.

Does anyone know a way around this?

Hi, We are having a website which shows the HTML5 video once click on the Video link it display the video in the same page where the innerhtml of the div accept it.

It display the video in all the browser accept Safari and in IPhone. Once this QT_WritePoster_XHTML line is encountered while clicking on the Video link of the application it opens the video mentioned in the QT_WritePoster_XHTML on the new blank video but not in the innerhtml with the Application.
Please let us know what to do to support this code with the application.
Please note that this problem is coming only for Safari Apple.

Ok so I am building a quiz application that I want to let people hit continue and it would save through MySQL database what radio buttons have been selected.

IE:

What is your username?

(o) No Answer [hidden]

This is just an example of how we would like it setup and if nothing is selected (as shown above) it would calculate that no answer was selected and save all the results of which were selected.

So it would see that No Answer was selected and it would skip it and check all the rest. (Generally we have 4 answers).

So it would save something like this...

() Randy
() Randy3
(o) Randy53215
() Randy2

Does anyone have any idea on how to go about this? Have a link to a page or some personal Javascript source that could do this? My javascript abilities are close to nothing. I can manipulate a bit to get it to work but that's about it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can someone explain how to deploy an application in red5 webapps directory?
On a remote server? Or is this something I'd have to hire a consultant for?

Here is the question: How do I make my website viewable and usable by everyone on my network (in other words, locally)? See below for details.

I'm working on a web-application (primarily Javascript and html) that will be located in a folder that everyone has access to at my company. This page is a fairly basic (a person signs-in, their name appears in a table below....the table is constantly growing).

My goal is to make everyone able to dynamically add to this table. They need to be able to refresh the table and see it in its current state, and add their names to and continue growing the table. Of course, if I just place my basic web application in the folder everyone has access to, they open it to its original state.

I appreciate any response. I'm VERY new to JavaScript and html, though I'm pretty well versed in a few other programming languages (VBA and MATLAB particularly), so I apologize if this is a very basic question.

I found the above script on a different site and have a couple of problems.

1) I find if I add more than 3 URLs to open, I get errors and the sites don't open. I verified each line is exactly the same except for the URL that needs to open.

2) My work must use IE 32-bit for our systems to work properly. When I click a link from my email, IE 32-bit opens the link. The problem is that when I run this .js file, the URLs open in IE 64-bit.

These are systems I use at work and they do not work in IE 64-bit.

If anyone can help me figure out how to open more than 3 URLs without errors and how to open IE 32-bit I would be grateful.

I want to have another go at Javascript. I have several books on the subject but I find that my eyesight is a major problem. Therefore I want to try an on-line solution, preferably free.

I have Googled, but there are so many that I am almost dizzy with the choices.

Perhaps someone could recommend one. Not too fussy visually. My knowledge is VERY basic.

Does anyone know how to make URL links that use Javascript still work when
users have Javascript disabled on their browser?

The only reason I'm using JS on a URL is because my link opens a PDF file, and I'm forcing it not to cache so users have the latest version.

I tried the <script><noscript> tags, but I'm not sure if I'm using it
correctly, as my URL completely disappears.
