JavaScript - How Do I Make A Button Link Me To Website With A Designated Search By User
Ok so im new to javascript and I have a button in an interface for an app. It's like drag and drop and i want this button to link you to a certain website searching for what the user types in the searchField1 box. The button is button16. Such as you type dogs into the text box and you click the google button among other search engines and it will redirect you to a google search doing a search for dogs. But how do I make this button search google and search for whats in searchField1. I would really appreciate the help. Im looking everywhere to learn this but just cant find it. If you could tell me how or send me a link to a tutorial that would be great. Thanks!
Here is the code: I don't know where and what to add to do that. Please help. Similar TutorialsOk, so if you navigate ovr to my website "http://www.mancunianmacca.co.cc" you will notice that a box pops up asking for your name. When you type it in it adds it to the page. Is there a way I can get this to remember the users input and only ask them once then remember. Like cookie or anything. If you need any extra things. Just ask.
I have a button given like this: <a href="test.php"><input class="test" type="test"></a> I have a CSS that defined the button as an image, and on hover the button changes. However, on hover, I'd like there to come a drop down that for example link to test 1, test 2, test 3. Is this possible? Thank you! I've been handed an html document that contains a centered, scrollable <iframe> element with a static height and width. This iframe element displays a simple html document that houses the 'terms of service' text. Their goal is to have it to where the <a href> link at the bottom that is shown to the user as 'next' is disabled until the user scrolls to the bottom of the terms of agreement box. The clickable link could be a button, image or text (no preference). They have to have it this way for legal reasons and radio buttons or checkboxes will not suffice unfortunately. Question: What is the best way to go about doing this that seems to be cross-browser friendly (especially IE7). I offer $10 via paypal for well commented method/script. In this case, Let's take Google Search as example: The code is JScript .NET, which is basically a .NET version of Javascript. Regardless of language, Anyone with appending type of skill can answer my question. This code is used in Fiddler(It's a Man-in-the-middle proxy) Code: if (oSession.uriContains("&q=")) // oSession is a Fiddler object session // uriContains() function, checks for case-insensitive string from the URI { var str = oSession.fullUrl; var sAppend = "test1+test2+test3"; if (!oSession.uriContains(sAppend)) { oSession.fullUrl = str.replace( "&q=","&q="+sAppend); } } For those who are confused, It says, If &q= is present in the URI, replace/append &q= with &q=test1+test2+test3 Problem: It appends test1+test2+test3 instantly, when it sees &q= in the URL. Basically, how do I make it wait until I click the submit/search button Thank you. Update: I heard about Onsubmit() event, but not really familiar with it. How do I use it? like, should I go to google source page and edit the form id? Also, Any other methods besides Onsubmit()? So with the below form if the value of any of the select list changes the user is alerted something like "You are about to make 2 changes". How can I do this? Code: <script> function validate(){ } </script> <form method="POST" onsubmit="return validate()" action="--WEBBOT-SELF--"> <select size="1" name="fruits[]"> <option value="apple">apple</option> <option value="pear">pear</option> <option value="orange">orange</option> </select> <select size="1" name="cars[]"> <option value="ford">ford</option> <option value="gm">gm</option> <option value="toyota">toyota</option> </select> <input type="submit" value="Submit" name="B1"></p> </form> Hey guys, im in need of some more java script help (by the way thanks for all the other times you guys have helped me) need to create a search box that whatever is in the search box will come up at the end of the URL https://****/DirectConnect/Getpremie...Chassis|X##### the last 6 charecters should be replaced with what ever number that in the search box so X##### should be replaced by 123456 for example or any other number Hello, I have this search box form with 2 select boxes : Code: <form action="search.php" method="get"> <select name="RingType"> <option value="Nose">Nose</option> <option value="Toe">Toe</option> <option value="Belly">Belly</option> </select> <select name="NecklaceType"> <option value="gold">Gold</option> <option value="diamond">diamond</option> <option value="pearl">pearl</option> </select> <input type="text" size="60" name="keywords" /> <input class="submit" type="submit" value="Search" /> </form> For example, when a visitor selects "Belly" RingType, I want "Belly Ring" to appear in the search box. and when the visitor selects "pearl" NecklaceType, I want "pearl necklace" to appear in the search box. if the visitor first selects "Belly" RingType, and then selects "pearl" NecklaceType, I want "Belly Ring pearl necklace" to appear in the search box. After making his selections in the search box, if he types something in the search box, it should add to what is already there in the search box. Or, if he first types something in the search box for example, "jewelry" and then selects "pearl" in the necklacetype select box, the search box should show : "jewelry pearl necklace" Can you please show how to do this ? Thanks a lot. Can you tell me a similar way to do this? Greetings! I am currently working on my own company's website I am currently working with the FAQ page and I need to make a simple textbox, where visitors can type and ask a question and submit it, the question the visitor typed needs to be read by javascript from a seperate xml file which should be read with javascript. Now i dont know how to start with this and I would appreciate if someone could give me a lead on what things i should do and etc. Best regards Obs How would I track how many times a user hit the OK button when prompted with a message using document.writeln?
Basically I want to create search filters for different types of properties, first all types of properties will show but when you click 'detached properties' then only detached properties will be shown?
On various video sites you can click cinema mode and the page goes dark, whilst you watch the video. On my page I have a box which appears, where the user enters their name and email address. But I would like the box to remain active and in view. While the rest of the page goes darker and unusable, Like on the video player websites How do I do this? hi everyone! i downloaded a Facebook Page template recently. the template works great, but i wanted to add one thing. here is the demo of the code: http://www.facebooktemplates2u.com/d...best_business/ here is where you can download the template: http://www.schoolofrok.com/facebook/html.zip/ anyhow, the part i want to change is the link that directs it to the content. for example, when you scroll over About Us, the little pop up from the bottom comes out. when you click it, it takes you to the About Us content. what i wanted to do, is make it so that when you click the whole jpg, it can take you to the content also. i noticed that the small link that pops up is too tiny and people get confused on where to click. any suggestions? TIA! I heard that when we put javascript in website, then site takes time to open, is it correct ? If yes then which script is good for website.
Hi Everyone, I want to execute a script when the user clicks the button. Currently in my html doc. i have the button declared. <input type="button" id ="button" onclick='notEmpty() value="Play"/> When the button is clicked, i execute the notEmpty() function and I want to execute a script inside the notEmpty(). How can i do this? Thanks, Praveen When the user visits a page, an iframe will be displayed. What is the best way to force the user to click something in this iframe? I suppose I could do that thing where the mouse always has a part of a div "glued" to it, so wherever they click, the certain area is clicked. But, then they could just hit the back button. If you think this is the best way, could you please provide some code if you have some, or give me the name of this (I forget what this specific method is called)? If you don't think that's the best way, what's your idea? Thanks. I have no clue if this is in the correct forum but.... is there a way to determine whether a user clicked on a link vs typed in the url to get to a page? I'm trying to stop users from messing with GET forms (and i have to use them, POST wouldn't make sense in this case). Thanks Hi! I'm as new as they come when it deals with website development but forums have been useful to me in the past and I'm hoping I can get some kind of direction from all the wonderful people on this forum! I have an idea for a website that I'd like to pursue, and it would need functions such as: -Live news feed -Member logins, profiles, ability to rate/leave feedback for members -Mobile phone friendly -Comment on postings -Create an intro video (maybe even with animated stick figures to explain how the site works) -Accept paypal or other payment method -And basically, need to understand the monthly maintenance cost of all these functions, how to minimize expenses, etc. I know it seems far fetched for a newbie! But I need to know if this is possible.. how would I begin implementing a site like this.. Do I need to find a programmer to code it from scratch? Are there pre-written scripts available for all the functions I listed? What can I expect the costs to be? What's the best way to move forward? I need the code for if the user enters in a code into the field for example E1 and clicks submit it'll redirect them to a certain form. And if another user entered in E2 it would redirect them to a DIFFERENT form. I hope this is the correct category of the site for me to post this. Wasn't sure if it should be here or PHP.
I want to send a simple email with just email & subject only when the user clicks a link that opens a pdf. I'm thinking javascript is the best way to do this but I have no idea how. I have googled it a bunch but most information is about getting an email when someone clicks a link you send in an email. I don't want that. This is on a website. I'm not sure if php would be better to use. Any help would be most appreciated!
