JavaScript - Element Wont Change Size 0.0

Hi,

I'm creating web application that picks out a randomly chosen image from google, and displays it in the browser window every time it is refreshed. What I'm struggling with is that I want the browser window to resize automatically to exactly fit the image displayed.

I know how to resize a browser window, but I want it done dynamically. Can anyone help me with this?

I need to get JavaScript to change the font size used for a website if Opera is detected. I have been trying this but it hasn't worked:

I used the same principle in a different function to change another css property via getElementById and it works beautifully so I am a bit puzzled.

I then realised that I actually need to change the value of the font size in the body tag from 100% to 90% when Opera is detected so I changed the script to this:

My pseudo code for this exercise is something like this:

I am pretty new to AJAX & I am making a simple program to input new text refresh inside the HTML element that has the id='result'.

My Problem:
- The AJAX script fails when I try to change the text inside 'result' using my code, sometimes a whole new page opens with the text I wanted to put inside the result HTML element. Sometimes I just get a notification that an error occured.
- I believe it is because of my function state_changed & using the parameter element_id with the function getElementById(element_id).innerHTML = ...;
- It should be easy to see where my problem occurs when you look at my code

Any advice on why the script fails & how to fix it would be extremely helpful.

Hi Guys,

im using chrome and ff and it worked fine till i tested on ie7 and the form just wont send on ie7. it gives me a validation error msg "SOME VALUES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE" when i try to submit.

ive tried so many things and i cant figure out why ie7 wont send upon submit like ff does, code seems to be fine, pls see validation coding line 7 - 32 , any jsGURU advice will be much appreciated!

Hi all,

I've messing around with CSS and I would like to change the <body> 'class' when the user selects a hyperlink.
To do this I've employed the OnClick method within the hyperlink which calls the function updateBodyClass().
Within upDateBodyClass() I would like to add the string "extraMenu" to the body class.

Before selecting the hyperlink the body is:
<body id="twoColLayout" class="tools">

I want this to change to:
<body id="twoColLayout" class="tools extraMenu">

Does anyone know why this might error in just IE?

Hi, I'm relativly new to JS and brand new to the forum so you might need to dumb down your replys for my slightly lacking knowledge. That being said I do have a very solid grasp of html, css and am getting there with JS and its various frameworks.

I'm integrating wordpress into an existing site for a friend and currently have the main blog page appear in a DIV. This is the best way to integrate in this case due to many reasons mostly of way the site is constructed.

My issue is that links within that DIV, in the blog, when clicked redirect the page. The simple answer to this would be to have them just open in a new page, which I can easily do with the below code.

I have a CMS system using Tinymce and after making some alterations noticed the updates weren't showing up.

After much messing (sql, set up etc) I started to delete the content bits at a time and came to the conclusion that is was the character '

as in what's

any ideas why this is and how to solve it
i'm thinking its due to php code!

I created a forloop and that runs fine, but it wont run any code after the loop finishes.

I've tryed playing around with it but nothing I do will make it display the alert. Heres the problem code:

{
	var price=0;
	for(var i=1; i<=15; i++)
	{
		if(document.form.partPrice[i].value == "price" == false)
		{
			price+=Number(document.form.partPrice[i].value);
			alert("test");
		}
	} //wont run any code after here
	alert(price);
}

I'm not sure whats wrong, its probably something small that im overlooking but I just cant find whats wrong

Hey

I have a JS value but it won't put the value in the brackets when i try to get the element by ID instead it is looking for the id named the same as the variable name.

Here is what i got to explain better:

function fill_div(v)
    {
        document.getElementById(v).innerHTML="<img src='untitle.png' style='width:100%;height:100%;'/>";
    }
var x = 0;
var y = 3;
var area = 1;
window.onload = fill_div(area+':'+x+':'+y);

It ends up looking for id v instead of id 1:0:3.


Any idea how i correct this ?
