JavaScript - Glider.js Not Working In Ie 7 (and Footer Problems)
Evening everyone
Having some fits over getting Glider.js to operate correctly in IE7. Working fine in IE8, Firefox and Safari. Can't seem to figure out why the code isn't functioning properly, but I'm not JavaScript expert, either. Here is the URL: http://jetfuelcreative.com/clients/alf/index.php Here is the sections of code that is pertains to glider.js: Code: <script src="javascripts/prototype.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="javascripts/effects.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="javascripts/glider.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> Code: <span class="glider-right-arrow"> <a href="#" onclick="my_glider.next();return false"><img src="images/glider-arrow-right.png" style="border:none" alt="arrow-right"/></a> </span> <span class="glider-left-arrow"> <a href="#" onclick="my_glider.previous();return false;"><img src="images/glider-arrow-left.png" style="border:none" alt="arrow-left"/></a> </span> Code: <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"> var my_glider = new Glider('my-glider', {duration:.75}); </script> Thanks for any help you can provide! Similar Tutorials// JavaScript Document function open_tab(el){ if(document.getElementById(el).style.display == "none"){ document.getElementById(el).style.display = "block"; } } function close_tab(el){ if(document.getElementById(el).style.display == "block"){ document.getElementById(el).style.display = "none"; } } Pretty basic code, works great in FireFox and Chrome in both HTML and ASPX pages. However in IE it only works properly in the .aspx pages. There are a series of links so when you click it hides the div's which are set to display:"block", except for one "div" which won't change to display"none" and I don't know why. I'm trying to remove a vertical scroll that appeared after I added padding 100% to footer. It was suggested that I use javacript to cause the footer not to expand so I don't have to add padding 100% to footer which will eliminate scroll bar. How do I accomplish this when you remove 100% padding from footer?I don't want to see the grey backgroun under footer. I just want to see footer and that's it. Here's my code Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" /> <title></title> <style type="text/css"> #wrapper{width:1000px; height: 520px;margin:-25px auto; background-color: #3d3d3d;} #header { width: 100%; height: 75px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 0px 0px 10px 0px; background-color: #00a3e8; float:left; color: #FFFFFF; } #contact {position:relative;top:500px;} *{margin:0px; padding:0px} #col1{width:200px; height:454px; float:left; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; background-color: #00a3e8; border: 7px solid #000;} #col2{width:300px; height:454px; float:left; background-color: #00a3e8; border: 7px solid #000; margin:0px 0px 0px 130px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; text-align:center; color: #FFFFFF;} #col3{width:200px; height:454px;background-color:blue; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; background-color: #00a3e8; border: 7px solid #000; float:right; color: #000; } #footer{width:100%; height:100%; clear:both; float:left; overflow:hidden; margin-top:-23px; padding: 100% 0px 5px 0px; background-color: #00a3e8; text-align: center; color: #FFFFFF;} body{overflow-x:hidden; overflow-y:auto; background-color: #3d3d3d;} </style> </head> <body> <div id="header"><img width="416" height="70" src="MyProfile_clip_image001.gif" alt="UJ" /> </div> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="col1"></div> <div id="col2"><div id="contact">Contact Us</div></div> <div id="col3"></div> </div> <div id="footer"><div id="contact">Contact Us</div></div> </body> </html> Hi All, I have two sites using zeroclipboard (hosted at google code) one works only in firefox and barely, the other is not working at all. It does use Flash, but I think the issue is on the js side of things. On both links, clicking the filename below the thumbnail will copy and add the link as an IMG code to a div below. *working* link http://pics.boasbysatyra.com/access/spiders.php This one only works in FF, and the clip area is offset badly. Here is the template for the zc code: Code: <div class="photo" style="float: left; padding: 4px;"> <div class="exif"><a href="[~41~]?dir=[+images_dir+]&file=[+filename+]" rel="shadowbox[exif_[+content_id+]]" title="exif data for [+filename+]" alt="exif data for [+filename+]">EXIF Data</a></div> <a class="thumb" rel="shadowbox[[+content_id+]]" href="[+images_dir+][+filename+]" title="[+title+] | [+description+]"> <img src="[+thumbs_dir+][+filename+]" alt="[+title+]" /> </a> <div class="filecode" id="d_clip_button[+filename+]">[+filename+] <script language="JavaScript"> var clip = new ZeroClipboard.Client(); clip.setText( 'http://pics.boasbysatyra.com[+images_dir+][+filename+]' ); clip.glue( 'd_clip_button[+filename+]' ); clip.addEventListener( 'onComplete', my_complete ); function my_complete( client, text ) { $('.picklist').append('<div class="piclinks">[IMG]' + text + '[/IMG]</div>'); } </script> </div> </div> And the JS for the page: Code: var needRef; //flag for page reload function pEdit(){ needRef = 1; } Shadowbox.init({ handleOversize: "resize", modal: true, initialHeight: 32, initialWidth: 400, overlayOpacity: 0.85, onClose: function(){//check for reload flag and reload if (needRef == 1){window.location.href=window.location.href;} } }); ZeroClipboard.setMoviePath('/js/zc/ZeroClipboard10.swf'); function initMenu() { $('#menu ul').hide(); $('#menu ul:first').show(); $('#menu li a').click(function() { var checkElement = $(this).next(); if ((checkElement.is('ul')) && (checkElement.is(':visible'))) { //return false; } if ((checkElement.is('ul')) && (!checkElement.is(':visible'))) { $('#menu ul:visible').slideUp('normal'); checkElement.slideDown('normal'); return false; } }); } $(document).ready(function() { initMenu(); }); Now on to the totally broken one - it creates the elements required, but gives them a 0x0 area! http://jb.boasbysatyra.com/forum-pic...cs/nature.html Code: div class="photo" style="float: left; margin: 4px;"> <div class="exif"><a href="[~133~]?dir=[+images_dir+]&file=[+filename+]" rel="shadowbox[exif_[+content_id+]]" title="exif data for [+filename+]" alt="exif data for [+filename+]">EXIF Data</a></div> <a class="thumb" rel="shadowbox[[+content_id+]]" href="[+images_dir+][+filename+]" title="[+title+] | [+description+]"> <img src="[+thumbs_dir+][+filename+]" alt="[+title+]" /> </a> <div id="d_clip_container[+filename+]" style="position:relative; width: 120px; height: 0.5em;"> <div class="filecode" id="d_clip_button[+filename+]">[+filename+] <script language="JavaScript"> var clip = new ZeroClipboard.Client(); clip.setText( 'http://jb.boasbysatyra.com[+images_dir+][+filename+]' ); clip.glue( 'd_clip_button[+filename+]','d_clip_container[+filename+]' ); clip.addEventListener( 'onComplete', my_complete ); function my_complete( client, text ) { $('.picklist').append('<div class="piclinks">[IMG]' + text + '[/IMG]</div>'); } </script> </div> </div> </div> On this one I wrapped it as suggested on the zc site, I originally started with the code for the other site - it didn't work, so I went tweaking... Here is the JS: Code: var needRef; //flag for page reload function pEdit(){ needRef = 1; } Shadowbox.init({ handleOversize: "resize", modal: true, initialHeight: 32, initialWidth: 400, overlayOpacity: 0.85, onClose: function(){//check for reload flag and reload if (needRef == 1){needRef = 0; window.location.href=window.location.href;} } }); ZeroClipboard.setMoviePath('/js/zc/ZeroClipboard10.swf'); $(document).ready(function() { $(".dim img").fadeTo("slow", 0.65); $(".dim img").hover(function(){ $(this).fadeTo("slow", 1.0); },function(){ $(this).fadeTo("slow", 0.65); }); $('#mainContent').hide().fadeIn(1200); //When page loads... $(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all content // $("ul.tabs li:first").addClass("active").show(); //Activate first tab // $(".tab_content:first").show(); //Show first tab content //On Click Event $("ul.tabs li").click(function() { $("ul.tabs li").removeClass("active"); //Remove any "active" class $(this).addClass("active"); //Add "active" class to selected tab $(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all tab content var activeTab = $(this).find("a").attr("href"); //Find the href attribute value to identify the active tab + content $(activeTab).fadeIn(); //Fade in the active ID content return false; }); }); (function($) { $(document).ready(function(){ $('.menu1').ptMenu(); $('.menu2').ptMenu({vertical:true}); }); })(jQuery); I have taken a look at this for a few days and tried many things with no luck, any help is appreciated. Thanks! Ok, here's the page as it is right now: http://www.crackin.com/dev/index.php The paganation for the top 3 images is Sweet Pages: http://tutorialzine.com/2010/05/swee...tion-solution/ The content loading below is a page-replace script I got he http://css-tricks.com/dynamic-page-replacing-content/ And I'm also trying to integrate shadowbox (or lightbox, whichever will work) into the lower set of images. I have 2 problems right now I can't figure out, and I'm sure it somehow has to do with the fact I'm trying to mash 3 different JS addons into a single page, I'm still pretty new to this whole JS thing... First problem I'm having is that IE7 and Opera don't like the links in the upper images. Clicking a gallery image does not load the associated page below from those 2 browsers, however IE8 and FF seem to work fine. Second problem is getting shadowbox/lightbox to work on those lower images. I tried a couple different things but main thing I did is make sure the script is actually working by setting the header text to a link with shadowbox attached and that worked. That same link doesn't work when applied to the lower images (loads image in new window). Lightbox does the same thing. Thanks for any help. I hope I have this post in the right place! Any help would be very much appreciated... I have a feature on my website that allows users to choose the website background (using alternate css sheets) and then uses an externally linked javascript file to store the background choice as a cookie so it is consistent throughout the website. This works perfectly locally (i.e. when previewing my website on my computer) but now it is uploaded to my host it doesn't appear to be working. (with the same browser) My javascript is he http://www. b r p - e n v .com/javascript/backgroundchange.js (with no spaces) The website that the javascript file is linked to is http://www. b r p - e n v .com (with no spaces) In the head I have: <script type="text/javascript" src="../javascript/backgroundchange.js"></script> ...then I have: <body onload="set_style_from_cookie()"> ...and for users to choose which background: <form> <input type="image" src="../images/white-background-thumb.jpg" onclick="switch_style('bg1');return false;" name="theme" value="White" id="bg1"> etc... </form> My problem is: The background reverts back to the default when moving to a different page. This would indicate that the background choice is not being saved in cookies. But this works locally! I have tried putting the javascript directly onto each page but I still had the same problem. I hope someone can help, I will be so grateful if I can get this to work. Many thanks indeed! Hi, I'm trying to make a "sticky footer" that will stay at the bottom of the page and be about 2/3 of the page height. Then, when a button is clicked, the footer will slide down and be only about 1/3 the page height, collapsing the paragraphs on the footer and revealing the content the footer was covering. My first try at this is to make 3 divs within the sticky footer, and make the middle div the collapsable/expandable div. VERY hasty example, it will be a brown paper bag with art supplies inside. Issue A: What is the best way to create the smooth collapse/expand effect on the middle div using javaScript or jQuery? Issue B: All of the CSS based sticky footer fixes that I've found require the main div to have a bottom padding or margin of the footer's height. How can I fix this for the footer's two heights (with and without the middle section)? Is there a javaScript or jQuery way to do an expandable sticky footer? Issue C: The sticky footer fix makes it so that the bottom footer doesn't cover the content above it, but I WANT it to cover the content in this case, is there a better way to do this? Absolute positioning the footer? Html Code: <body> <div id="whole"> <div id="push"></div> </div> <div id="top"></div> <div id="hide"></div> <div id="bottom"></div> </body> Css Code: *{margin:0} html, body {height: 100%;} #whole { background-color: #09F; min-height: 100%; height: auto; height: 100%; margin: 0 auto -150px;} #push {min-height:150px; height:auto;} #top { height: 50px; clear:both; background-color:yellow;} #hide { min-height: 50px; height:200px; clear:both; background-color:green;} #bottom { height: 50px; clear:both; background-color:red;} Hey everyone, I'd like to know how to separate my body from the footer. I know I set the image on the body tag instead of #main. #main doesn't seem to work for loading the mainBG.png. Any know how to fix this? Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knows how I can achieve this static footer as seen on this site http://garcya.us/blog/80-vector-tags/ I assume its javascript which gives you the option of hiding the bar or letting it present vearious social site links etc? The link for the page is http://www.gloriatech.com/slideshow.aspx . Actually it display the images but no effects are applied. I also checked the js files, it is in right path only. When i checked this page in firebug , it shows the error which is " Sys is undefined". I dont know how to solve it. Can anyone help me? Thanx in advance. I am putting together a quiz in the form of a game, and I have tested the code for problems, and found a big one. Here is a part of my code that doesn't work- it always goes to "Sorry, incorrect", even when I type in 2.37. Code: var x=document.getElementById("varsource1"); if (x==="2.37") { alert("Correct."); (More code here) } else if(x !== "2.37") { alert("Sorry, incorrect."); } If anyone wants my whole code, I can put it up later, if you ask me for it. insidehb.com/main/imageofday/aug16to31/aug16to31.htm 1. the "visit henrbuilt" link is in the wrong position (its supposed to be centered) 2. there are too many thumbnails for "aug 16 - 31" so i had to redo "thumbs_mask.gif" (which makes the gray and clear thing at the bottom that moves) so that it was longer and covered all the thumbnails. now that is is 400 px longer, the center of it moved 200px to the right and i cant get it to move 200px to the left. i would i guess it has to do with my style sheet (insidehb.com/main/imageofday/aug16to31/style13.css) but it could also have to do with my main html page (insidehb.com/main/imageofday/aug16to31/aug16to31.htm) 3. its still being messed up in IE even with a new doctype Hi: Code below works fine in Firefox and Firebug shows no problems. Code: function changePlaylist(newplaylist,no_of_items) { playerConfig.playlist = []; for(var i = 0; i < no_of_items; i++) { playerConfig.playlist[i] = newplaylist; } setTimeout("createPlayer()",1); //delay create player to allow playlist to "stabilize" mediaPlayer.play(); // play the newly loaded playlist sequence* } IE9 script debugging (attached file) indicates problems with mediaplayer.play(). Even so it plays a movie. When I try playing a different movie in IE 9 nothing happens. Like I said works fine in Firefox and worked fine in IE 8. I called MS about problems with IE 9 security stuff etc. Talked with a guy in Bangladesh or some place over a bad connection who said they were gathering bug information (as usual with MS). All the dialogs where you can "allow scripting" etc. etc. have been replaced with some mindless stuff (as usual for MS). Anyway, are there some workarounds for IE9 problems? i have 3 different problems: 1. I was trying to make is display Kentucky Resident yes is the box is checked and nothing if it is not checked. 2. while trying to add this in I messed something up and not the alert will not display anything at all. 3. last time I click the button the play load a page error and i have no idea why. any and all help would be appreciated. thanks. Hello. I have the following: bottomCell.innerHTML = "apples 0"; bottomCell.innerHTML.replace("apples", "oranges", "gi"); The first line works fine, the second one doesn't. In the end, I want it to replace all instances of the numerical variable named myNumber to the string "t" + newNumber (where newNumber is another numerical variable) but neither this, nor the above mentioned line work. Any ideas? Thanks! Code: <!-- function toggle_visibility(id) { var e = document.getElementById(id); if(e.style.display == 'block') e.style.display = 'none'; else e.style.display = 'block'; } //--> </script> <img id="top" src="top.png" alt=""> <div id="form_container"> <h1><a>Test Page</a></h1> <form id="form_250840" class="appnitro" method="post" action=""> <div class="form_description"> <h2>TEST PAGE</h2> <p>QUESTIONNAIRE</p></div><ul> <div id="li_17" > <label class="description" for="element_17">Sample Question 1? </label> <input type="radio" id="element_17_yes" name="element_17" class="element radio" value="yes" onclick="document.getElementById('li_17a').style.display='block';" /> <label class="choice" for="element_17_yes">Yes</label> <input type="radio" id="element_17_no" name="element_17" class="element radio" value="no" checked="checked" onclick="document.getElementById('li_17a').style.display='none';" /> <label class="choice" for="element_17_no">No</label> </div> <div id="li_17a" > <label class="description" for="element_17a">Sample Question 2? </label> <span><input id="element_17_1a" name="element_17a" class="element radio" type="radio" value="1" /> <label class="choice" for="element_17_1a">Yes</label> <input id="element_17_2a" name="element_17a" class="element radio" type="radio" value="2" checked="checked"/> <label class="choice" for="element_17_2a">No</label></span> </div> <li class="buttons"> <input type="hidden" name="form_id" value="250840" /> <input id="saveForm" class="button_text" type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" /> </li> </ul> Ok, my problem I seem to be having is that I want "sample question 2" to be invisible unless someone answers yes to "sample question 1". I've tried coding an onclick script into the radio buttons but I can't seem to get it working. I know this shouldn't be that difficult. Anyone know how to fix it? Can you guys help me...I'm stuck.....I've simplified it as much as I can.... Code: var insertLocked = false; var deleteLocked = false; function graphMove(direction){ dostuff(direction); waitLocked(); alert(insertLocked); } function waitLocked(){ if (insertLocked == true || deleteLocked == true){ setTimeout(waitLocked(), 200); } } dostuff() sets insertLocked and deleteLocked to true, then does a bunch of stuff and then sets them to false. When I run graphMove, it will go through everything and simply alert true. What I want it to do is hit waitLock, loop around in there until both insertLocked and deleteLocked are set to false and then continue on, in this case outputing alert(insertLocked) as false.
