JavaScript - Displaying The Live Price Of Gold
I'm trying to figure out how to display the live price of gold on a site.
I've been googling for 2 hours and have gotten nowhere, most results are people trying to sell you something. I just want a simple display of the price of gold on a site, and don't know where to start. If anyone has any idea, or has done something similar to this, let me know. It should calculate the square meter of the product and then multiply it with the square meter price, multiply it with quantity and then plus it with the startup cost. But... if the square meter extend 20 m2 the square meter price should be lower, and also lower when it hit 50 m2. And at 100 m2 it should write that you have to contact sales department. Can this be done with JavaScript? Thanks I am currently using a price calculator - although it's really not a calculator; I have to enter every price manually. Currently, it works in half inch increments. I need it to do two things that it doesn't do currently: 1) Allow the customer to enter a dimension in 1/4 inch increments (1/8 would be even better, but I'm not requesting a miracle) 2) Make the result automatically round up to the nearest 1/2 inch Page containing calculator External file: sizecalc.js Hello, I am having a little issue with creating an updating price script for my website. The way I have my page is that it grabs data from my database when someone clicks my product, after that they go to the customize the product page. It is a price quote generator that takes a number (entered by the client) and depending on the package selected, produces a price quote. As I said, it works really well, but it's time for me to expand my business overseas. At the moment, I display the price as a single currency, but I would like for clients to be able to select (maybe from a drop down list in the answer field) any one of 4 different currencies (i.e., GBP, USD, EURO, MYR). The different exchange rates don't need to be up to the minute accurate. I'm quite happy to go in to the code and update them weekly or as required. I have attempted to research different ways of doing this, but as my needs are quite unusual and my brain really can't wrap around the ins and outs of java script, i'm here again begging with my cap in hand for help. They would need to enter their fabric range, style and width and drop. My first obsticle is where to start learning how to do it! Thanks, Deb. I'm trying to find a regular expression that will reject leading zeroes in a price unless the zero is the only digit before the decimal. So it will accept 0.03 but not 00.03 or 01.03. This is the best price validation I've been able to find so far /^\d+\.\d{2}$/ How do I modify it? Also, how do I use regex replace to trim all leading zeroes from a price except for the the one next to the decimal? Hi all again, Firstly thanks to Philip M for getting me this far but i still have a few quirks that i'd like to get around. Its a price generator with 3 options. User selects an option from a drop down, inputs "number of words" and hey-presto the price appears. That works superbly well but what would be really cool is if after someone gets a price they then would like to select a different option in order to see a new price. At the moment it means selecting another option and re-entering the number of words and then clicking in the price box to get the new result. Is there anyway to make that price change automatically (as if by magic even) if either the "option" or "number of words" is changed I have a sneaky suspicion that Philip M will come to the rescue again but should anyone else have a view that would be great also. Hi all, im looking for some help with some javascript if thats ok. I am building a system for creating a booklet. I want the user to be able to select the quantity of booklets they require. (eg 50, 75, 100, 125) Then also select the number of pages each booklet will require. (eg. 4, 8, 12) both will be select drop down boxes. I would like the price to be calculated based on the selections and displayed on the page. It will be total price not price per booklet. I have completed my entire chat program but currently i use: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5; URL=shout.php"> This is what keeps my chat room up to date, but this is pretty ugly due to the fact the browser makes a refresh. So i was hopeing some one could step my through to add ajax that makes a live affect with it appear to refresh. And thats it. I took a look on W3 about ajax and most of it was involve an event occuring such as submit/on key press which isn't what i want as some times a user may not do anything but i still want the chat to keep "up to date". I found one tutorial but it was over complicated to just take snippets out to put on my chat without knowing what it did or what to change for my chat to make it to work. Hope you can help - im a quick learner when i see the right example of what i need. What i need for it to do is search multiple drop down requests, for example: 1. first name 2. last name I want it to search by what has been selected (it is not necesary that all fields need to be selected, default will be any), however in the html it states: xmlhttp.open("GET","getrss.php?q="+str,true); and it only shows 1 option, i would like it to show multiple records. and once the records are shown, I would like the option of amending the search result any time in the search. please help |
