JavaScript - Auto Create New Page?
Hi,
I'm quite new at Javascript and I'm trying to create a script that will save me a lot of time when creating my website. I'm gonna try to explain what I'm looking for by taking a simple example. I have a page 'Portfolio'. On this page I have thumbnails of my work. 'OnMouseOver' will have the bigger version of the image appear on the screen (no need for a click). The images are named 1001, 1002, 1003, etc. The thumbs are named 1001_th, 1002_th, etc. When I click on one of the thumbnails, I want the page "Details" to open, on which only the picture and the description is different for every project. The rest of the content will be the same every time. What I am trying to do is avoid having to create a page "Details" for each one of my projects (up to 100 and growing). I figure there must be a simple solution to 'take' the number of the picture and put it in a standard "Details" page. Any help on this will be much appreciated! Thanks, M. Similar TutorialsHello, I don't know if this can be done in Javascript, or requires any other language but i was wondering if this would be possible. I would like to embed this Javascript code in to a PHP file and then for it to run automatically upon the PHP file loading: Code: <td class="smallDesc"> <a name="fb_share" type="button_count" href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php">Share</a><script src="http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect.php/js/FB.Share" type="text/javascript"></script> </td> The Javascirpt is the Facebook Share button that basically allows users that have Facebook to share the page there currently on in their Facebook status by pressing the button, but if there not logged in it shows the login page, not a problem just continue the script. The current button i which is what i want to load automatically in the PHP file is located here, to test the functionalilty just click "Share" button in blue.. http://watch-movies-online.anyfilman...-Movie-17.html To summarise, i would like the above Javascript code to execute automatically upon pageload of this PHP file.. http://www.watch-movies-online.anyfi...p://google.com. If that could be done, and if this also is possible.. i would like for the "Share" button on the external page that is loaded from the Javascript code above to be clicked automatically so in effect when ever someone visits the PHP page after clicking "Click Here to Watch/Stream 2012 Online For Free" on this page it will automatically load the Facebook Share box, and automatically click the "Share" Button and then close the page if possible, but not required. Please feel free to ask any questions, i'll be happy to answer. Thanks in advance. Best Regards, Jonathan. Hi, I'm pretty new in Javascript. I searched alot but didn't find any answer to my problem I have. What I want to do: - I have a cell A1 - I want the script to make a new cell B1 - After that I want the script to make a new cell C1 - After that I want the script to make a new cell D1 - After that I wa .... etc .... till I got 20 cells in total. This has to go automatic so not by use of a client sided button. I also need every cell to get his own IDnumber like A1 ID=1, B1 ID=2, C1 ID=3, etc to communicate with database and mysql. But maybe I have to use php for that. Thanx for any help! Best regards, Thoaren <HEAD><TITLE>main</TITLE> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5;url=http://localhost/php_basic/short_pro/php/main.php"> <!--<script language="JavaScript"> var i=0; function validat() { setTimeout("moretext()",5000); alert("santosh"); } function moretext() { if(i==0) { alert(window.location); window.location.reload(); i++; } else { } } </script>--> </head> <BODY onload="validat();"> i hav written dis code to auto refresh page only once but it is refreshing after every 5 seconds. Earlier i hav wriiten meta tag but it is refreshing page after every 5 seconds & after that i hav wriiten script to auto reffresh page only once but they both r doin the same work,so can u plz help me in solvin my problem Hi, i been poken around on here and have not found anything on this as of now, so i thought i would ask. i have a table of data that is positioned in the middle of one of my pages, rather than change the layout i thought it would be nice to just have the page auto scroll down to the middle of the page when the page loads so that the user does not have to constantly scroll down.. i tried this and several versions of it with no luck.. Code: scrollWindow(); // scrolls the window to auto load in middle of page function scrollWindow() { window.scroll(0,450); } i also tried scrollBy, and still nothing i tried using the body onload and still nothing... the scroll bar does seem to flash down for a split sec and im wondering if im using the wrong javascript function or if i might have some css that is locking it to load top of page.. not sure what to look for in the css though.. is there a dif function to do this.. thanks I've a web page when a user logs in, it will have a link that shows the "username" and a link for "logout". After the user logs out, the "username" and the "logout" links will change to "login" and "register" links, respectively. The page uses javascript to check a user cookie, if the user cookie exists, it will show the "username" link and the link for "logout". If no user cookie exists, "login" and "register" links will replace the "username" and "logout" links. Here's the problem: When a user who has log in, clicks the "logout" link, a perl script will delete the user cookie, and redirects back to the same page. The page does not show "login" and "register" links AUTOMATICALLY. Both links will appear ONLY after the user MANUALLY Refreshes the page. It appears that I need a system to refresh the page automacally ONLY one time. How can this be done? I want to design my website so that when a page loads javascript will smoothly animate it from a reference point to the top of the page. I visited an Apple store recently and was looking at the encased ipods next to the displayed product and the one next to the iphone has a mini site and after pressing the compare button at the bottom of the page I saw this animation. Below is a link to the video i recorded showing what I am trying to achieve. Any and all help will be appreciated. I have found other script that animate on page load but none of which does it from a reference point like the following video. I'm not sure how the page loads at that point either. If someone could help with that as well I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. http://demetriusmcclain.elementfx.co...pageScroll.MOV Most of the Javascript I see has some sort of time limit on page reload and is not really what I am trying to accomplish: Code: <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="10; URL=http://coffeeandtealtd.com/buynow.html" /> I am trying to make our buy page reload after clicking the Paypal "continue shopping" button in Paypal Website Standards. The pop up Paypal shopping cart window closes after clicking the button but our buy page doesn't reload. It doesn't reload in Safari although it seems to be fine in FF and IE. I am new to javascript coding and am not quite sure how to make the page reload in this specific instance only. Any sug's?? I'm attaching my php test file but this is a JS problem. When I scroll down in the web page and the meta refresh hits, in Windows Safari and IE6/7/8 browsers, the web page re-positions back to the top. In Opera and FF the page refreshes but it stays where it is. Can someone look at my test script and see why it is not working in IE and Win Safari? My goal is to have the web page not re-position to the top on the auto refresh. Thanks... i have this code included within a .php file on my website. I realised that my %age rules defining the width of my website page dont really work once i get to wider sizes so i want to use a fixed width page design using css code (only once wide enough) to achieve this. Please have a look at my code and tell me what im doing wrong i cant find anything wrong with my js. If js is anything like python i may need to change the output from a string to an integer or something along those lines. I can easily just doc.write the width but i cant get it to compare properly Code: <script type="text/javascript"> if (document.body.clientWidth > 1280) {document.write('<link href="wdestyle.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />')}; else {document.write('<link href="nrostyle.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />')}; </script> Hello, I want to create a page that allows the user to select 2 images as options, when they click one, a new page is dynamically loaded with a list of options they can choose again (like a sublevel of the image they clicked on). From there it will just continue moving down like a hierachy Can someone help me with the basic script forthis to work so i can mess with it and edit it to my needs ^ Thank you in advance he everyone please i want to know how to submit a form using ajax every 5 minutes without reloading page i have a huge form for exams and i need to submit the form without the need to wait until pressing submit because the user may wait to think about the answer a very long time.. so i want to submit the form and at the same time i cant reload the page as it is in normal submit form.. so how i can submit form in the background without letting the user knows that the form is submitted??? I have a php file lets say file1.php, that printing a variable, its dynamic numbers output that already always increasing, like private message numbers that coming or others : PHP Code: <?php echo $variable ?> i want to put that variable output, in another files page title, lets say file2.php or file3.html, in the front of the another files page titles, and auto refresh every x seconds, maybe like this : Quote: (1) - another text in the page title after x seconds, get a private message Quote: (2) - another text in the page title after another x seconds, get another private message Quote: (3) - another text in the page title or its ok if just like this, only the variable, without the another text in the page title Quote: (1) please share your knowledge to make it, maybe using javascript, jquery or others I would like to create a link from one page to another. Easy - I know. But I would like that link to to take me to a certain part of the other page, specifically towards the bottom of the page. Is that possible to do? And if so, what are the different ways I can specify where in the page to go? (i.e. what are the parameters that I can play with) Thanks! Hi, I have an .aspx page which the author claims to be an RSS feed (http://gcn.com/rss-feeds/state-local.aspx). It is simply a list of links with a description for each. I am trying to embed these links into an RSS feed on my own page. I am using code from http://www.mioplanet.com/rsc/newsticker_javascript.htm to create the scrolling ticker. Do I need to do something to convert the .aspx page to an RSS feed? Please help. Thanks. Hi all, am trying to create a page which will automatically scroll to the bottom, then go back to the top and start again. im very new to javascript and have done my best to peice together bits of scripts that do simular things the code below is what ive managed to come up with, it sort of works but am sure is full of mistakes Code: <SCRIPT type='text/javascript'> var CurrentScroll=0; var maxDisplacement=0; function pageReset() { CurrentScroll=0; window.scrollTo(0,0); } function pageScroll() { window.scrollTo(0,10000000); if( typeof self.pageYOffset!='undefined' ){ maxDisplacement=self.pageYOffset; } if( document.compatMode && document.compatMode != 'BackCompat' ){ maxDisplacement=document.documentElement.scrollTop ; } if( document.body && typeof(document.body.scrollTop)!='undefined' ){ maxDisplacement=document.body.scrollTop; window.scrollTo(0,0); } while(CurrentScroll <= maxDisplacement){ window.scrollBy(0,1); // horizontal and vertical scroll increments scrolldelay = setTimeout('pageScroll()',100); // scrolls every 100 milliseconds CurrentScroll = (CurrentScroll + 1); } if(CurrentScroll == maxDisplacement){ pageReset(); } } </SCRIPT> if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance Scoob I've been told by many reliable sources that getting people to 'like' your site on Facebook is a great way of increasing your site traffic and getting a site ranked higher on Google and other search engines. However, it is hard work to get it implemented correctly. What you want is to have each page individually 'liked' rather than the site as a whole. To do that can take a lot of time-consuming fiddling around. We've created a simple piece of Javascript that allows you to create a custom 'like' button on each page of your site. Because we've had some help from other members with some bits and pieces of Javascript coding, it only seems fair to share something in return. Prerequisites You will need to get a Facebook Application ID from Facebook themselves. This is a unique Application ID for your domain. The easiest way to get one of these is to go to http://developers.facebook.com/docs/.../plugins/like/ and enter the details for your domain. Then click on 'GET CODE' and copy the 15 digit number from #appId. You then paste this into the Javascript as shown below. Adding the Facebook 'like' button to each page - changes to HTML In the <head> section of your HTML, add the following piece of code: Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="SocialMedia.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> FacebookSetup('Your page title goes here', 'image-to-show-on-Facebook.jpg'); </script> At the point on the page where you actually want the 'Like' button to appear, you then add the following piece of code: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> FacebookLike(); </script> The JavaScript Now create a JavaScript file called SocialMedia.js: Code: var facebookAppID = "xxxxxxxxxx" function FacebookSetup(title, image) { var url=window.location.host + window.location.pathname; document.write("<meta property='og:title' content='" + title + "' />"); document.write("<meta property='og:type' content='article' />"); document.write("<meta property='og:url' content='" + url + "' />"); document.write("<meta property='og:image' content='" + hostname + "/images/" + image + "' />"); document.write("<meta property='og:site_name' content='" + sitename + "' />"); document.write("<meta property='fb:admins' content='" + facebookAppID + "' />"); } function FacebookLike() { var facebook="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=" + url + "&layout=standard&show_faces=false&width=250&action=like&font&colorscheme=light&height=35"; document.write("<iframe src=" + facebook + " scrolling=no height=35 frameborder=0 style=border:none; overflow:hidden; width:250px; height:35px; allowTransparency=true></iframe>"); } Change the value in the variable facebookAppId on line one to your Application ID (as explained in the prerequisites section above). What happens once you've implemented this? Once you've implemented this, you should see a LIKE button on your page. If you are a Facebook user and have cookies set to always log you in, you'll find that when you click on this LIKE button, a link to your page will appear on your Facebook page, along with a thumbnail photograph as specified by you when you called FacebookSetup in your HTML code. Other people who follow you on Facebook will then also have the link to your site appearing on their News Feed. If you are not logged in when you click on the LIKE button, you will be prompted to log on to Facebook before the information appears on your News Feed. What are the benefits of using JavaScript to do this, rather than writing the HTML code for each page? Many sites have created a blanket site-wide 'LIKE' button and embedded it into their HTML. Whilst this is easy, it is limiting - the LIKE button always has the same title, the same picture and sends you to the same page on your website. Of course, it is possible to write custom HTML for each page, but this can soon get messy and then becomes more difficult to maintain. As an alternative, this JavaScript is simple and tidy. The code makes it simple to create unique Facebook 'likes' for each page, with custom text and custom images. It also keeps your HTML tidy, thereby making it easy to maintain in the future. Hope this helps, folks. I want to use javasript to create a new html page named from a text field in a form. Then I want to use javasript to copy all of the form fields to the new html page that was created using javascripting. I am creating a user are using a Javascript password login. With most of them the page is the user name or password. So this is why I am looking to do this. I use web 1000 a free host and they will only let me use javascripting. Any info or help would be great thank you
Hello, I'm on a RPG game and they have a automatic logout timer to stop people from using bots to play, the only problem with it is, if someone lets the timer run out, it won't let the user log back in for a time (This time could be anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours from what other members have told me) Now java isn't my strong point (But I'm learning ^_^) and I'm not 100% sure if this error is related to java or some other code format. Using the develop tool in Safari I was able to find the code, and its telling me thats its java, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place if its not Java after all. I'm wondering if looking over this code, someone might be able to find the problem or might have any tips to make it work better. (Note; I'm not the admin or owner of the RPG, but the owner hasnt done anything about it mainly cause they are to lazy I think?? or might not know how to fix it. PHP Code: var c_reloadwidth3=200 var countDownTime3=countDownInterval3+1; function countDown3(){ countDownTime3--; if (countDownTime3 <=0){ countDownTime3=countDownInterval3; clearTimeout(counter3) window.location.reload() return } if (document.all) //if IE 4+ document.all.countDownText3.innerText = Math.floor(countDownTime3 / 60)+":"+(countDownTime3 % 60)+" "; else if (document.getElementById) //else if NS6+ document.getElementById("countDownText3").innerHTML= Math.floor(countDownTime3 / 60)+":"+(countDownTime3 % 60)+" " else if (document.layers){ document.c_reload.document.c_reload3.document.write('<b id="countDownText3">'+countDownTime3+' </b>') document.c_reload.document.c_reload3.document.close() } counter3=setTimeout("countDown3()", 1000); } function startit3(){ if (document.all||document.getElementById) document.write('<b id="countDownText3">'+countDownTime3+' </b>') countDown3() } For all I know it could be another script causing it to do it, but this is a start to help try and fix the problem.
