JavaScript - Form Not Going To Thank You Page
I am having problems getting my form to redirect users to a thank you page after they submit the form. I am still getting emailed all of the information that they submit, but it isn't sending them to the "thanks.asp" page. I have tried a ton of different things, but I can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All, I am not sure if this is the right place for this question. I'm fairly certain that my problem can be resolved with some JS, but I'm not 100% so please forgive me if this thread does not belong here. Anyhoo, here goes.... I have a site i'm building in Joomla! 1.5. I've got a form on page A and an iframe on page B. The iframe src is an asp page that returns real estate listing details based on values passed to the asp page in the URL. for example: http://www.hostOfAspPage.com/aspPage...&minprice=500k I figured out how to create a form on page B that changes the src of the iframe by setting the target to the name of the iframe. so that works fine. but now, i want to put a similar form on the home page. Please see the following diagram...hopefully it explains what i'm trying to do. http://webwraps.com/changeiframesrc.jpg so here is my question... Is it possible to use JS (or maybe php?) to create a URL based on the values in the form on page A and then take the visitor to page B while changing the src of the iframe on page B to be the newly created URL? if so, how? existing iframe code: <iframe name="resultsiframe" src="URL-ONE"></iframe> desired new iframe code (after form on page A is submitted): <iframe name="resultsiframe" src="URL-TWO"></iframe> Thank you very much for your time. Does someone know how to let 2 of the same type of contact form, working on the same page? Because i have the contact form on the footer of my page, and when you visit at the mennu: contact us, the same contact form will be shown. But it wont work, only the one in the footer. Hi I have a entry form which inserts data 2 DB. while the user entering info if he wants to click on any url in left nav pane there should show message: the data won't be saved if you navigate from this page. I have written some code..it works fine but if i Hit submit button on the form It wont submit, still gives the same popup -the data won't be saved if you navigate from this page. HRE IS my code: <script language="javascript"> function closeIt() { return " "; } window.onbeforeunload = closeIt; </script> BUT this works only if i try to navigate from page. But it still prevents the submission. TIA Hello, I would like to program a custom link for my visitors, which will fill a payment form on an external page automatically. As an ultimate goal, I would like to press a link, which will send necessary information to this external page, fill it in the right forms, and press "submit" button there. If there is no way to do all these tasks in only one link, then just filling the forms would be great. I've tried something like: Code: <a href="https://load.payoneer.com/LoadToPage.aspx" style="cursor:pointer;" onclick="document.getElementById('emailAddress').value='somemail@mail.com';"> Pay to "somemail@mail.com" </a> Unfortunately this approach didn't work for me. The other problem is that I need to fill more fields on this external page (https://load.payoneer.com/LoadToPage.aspx), like payment amount, email address, reason for payment, etc. I've found out that I can send Email as a parameter in an URL: https://load.payoneer.com/LoadToPage...email@mail.com (will work only with a valid email, as it goes through a validation on their page). Is there any way to get the names of other parameters (like "email", "payment", etc.)? Please let me know if there are any possible ways to program such a task. I believe that JavaScript should be used here, but if not, please advise me on different ways of programming such a solution. Thank you in advance, Anatoliy. Hello, First off thank you for looking at my post. Please forgive me if I do something incorrectly here. I have never posted in a forum before. You are very kind to assist me in this problem. I wish to send the javascript calculated value in a form from one page to another page form. I just need the one value sent. The value is "answer: in the code below. I would like to send it to a form page called "answer.html" I am not a computer person, and I am doing this in frontpage. I do not know how to write java or anything, I just copied this from a free script site and am trying to use it. Thank you once again for your kindness and patience with me. I created a form and validation to ensure that it is fully filled out, then once it is filled out properly, it should automatically go to the confirmation page. The way it works right now is that it does work properly, except if the error alert pops up it will then navigate to the confirmation page anyways, and that page will be blank. I have it setup with this in the form: Code: <form name = "orderForm" action="confirmOrder.html" onsubmit= "validateOrder()"> I need it to stop on error, and not let you continue to confirmOrder.html unless filled out right. The link is handled as a form submit because PageA sends some variables which it wants "processed". However, PageB is NOT a CGI script but simply another html page which happens to contain a form. This form handles the desired processing. I would appreciate some help getting some javascript in place, in PageA, in order to automatically fill in a form field in PageB with a variable supplied by PageA. The complications here a 1) PageB is not a CGI script and so sending variables via a query string does not work. (The variables never get read by PageB.) 2) PageB is maintained by another organisation so I cannot modify it. (Actually I could, as I have a local copy, but I would have to redo after every new release and so this is not acceptable.) It therefore needs to be treated as an independent page. 3) The variable is quite a lengthy one, it is extracted from a database and changes depending on how PageA was called, so I want to do this for repeated instances and cutting and pasting to a new page on each occasion is not attractive. 4) I would like to open PageB in a separate window or tab as I want to be able to reference both pages at once. (This is not essential to the key problem but may influence the solution. A solution which depended on the window being the same I would not regard as satisfactory.) The relationship between the documents is probably most accurately described as "PageB is a section of PageA". It is providing some additional information on aspects of what is in PageA. The output from submission of PageB can be quite lengthy. The actual form field in PageB I want to fill in is a textarea element and I know its name (call it name1) and also the name of the form (call it form1). But I don't think the field type should be important. I simply want to update its value (presumably after a page load?). Is this possible without editing PageB? I would appreciate some guidance if not a proven solution. Perhaps I have overlooked something but I can't find a working solution to this particular problem and my experiments to date don't work. Thanks hi there, i'm new here and pretty new to js. i'm making a page for my daughter's school - or trying to. they are having a silent auction and i'm trying to make a very simple bidding page. where i'm running into problems is passing the bid to a text box (read only) where it can be updated when a new bid is entered. I would like this to be in the upper part of the page with the listings of the auction items, i just can't wrap my head around how to do this. I've gotten as far as the form for entering the bod and contact info. I have the php code to submit. i still have to get the validation js to make it more secure. thanks for any help. Code: <html> <body> <h1 id="logo"></h1> <div id="main"> <p> <h4>Silent Auction</h4> <form name="auction" method="post" action="send_form_email.php" > <label for="item1">Item 1</label> <br /> <label for="curr_bid_item_1">Current Bid = </label><br /> Your Bid = <input type="text" name="item1" maxlength="15" size="10" /> <br /> <br /> <label for="item2">Item 2</label><br /> <label for="curr_bid_item_2">Current Bid = </label><br /> Your Bid = <input type="text" name="item2" maxlength=="15" size="10" /> <br /> <br /> <label for="item3">Item 3</label><br /> <label for="curr_bid_item_3">Current Bid = </label><br /> Your Bid = <input type="text" name="item3" maxlength="15" size="10" /> <br /> <br /><br /><br /> <form name="contactform" method="post" action="send_form_email.php" onsubmit="document.getElementById('myButton').disabled=true; document.getElementById('myButton').value='Submitting, please wait...';"> <label for="first_name">First Name *</label> <input type="text" name="first_name" maxlength="50" size="30"><br /><br /> <label for="last_name">Last Name *</label> <input type="text" name="last_name" maxlength="50" size="30"><br /><br /> <label for="email">Email Address *</label> <input type="text" name="email" maxlength="80" size="30"><br /><br /> <label for="telephone">Telephone Number</label> <input type="text" name="telephone" maxlength="30" size="30"><br /><br /> <label for="comments">Comments</label><br /> <textarea name="comments" maxlength="1000" cols="40" rows="6"></textarea><br /><br /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" id="myButton" /> </form> </form> </div> </body> </html> I want to use Javascript to submit a form - without filling the form in physically Is this possible? Let's say a web page has a form that submit First Name and Last Name to the next page Instead of filling in the form and hitting submit, can I submit the data in variables and call the next page somehow using Javascript? Thanks OM Hi, i will try to be as brief as possible. I have a page A with form: Code: <form id="search" action="find.html" method="get"> ... (some select options) ... <input type="submit" class="submit" value="search"> this form look up some holiday destination which appears on this page with url: (example) Code: www.domain.com/find.html?destination=italy&price=500 Now, I dont want to display result on this page, but on page B, in iframe. I found a way how to redirect output as a link to properly show in iframe on page B. Page A contains: Code: <a href="pageb.html?http://www.domain.com/find.html?destination=italy&price=500">show on page B</a><br> Page B contains: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function loadIframe(){ if (location.search.length > 0){ url = unescape(location.search.substring(1)) window.frames["iframe"].location=url } } onload=loadIframe //--> </script> <iframe src="" name="iframe" id="iframe"</iframe> In this case page B will properly load requested link in iframe. Problem is it is just a static link... I want to display search result from the form. Thanks a lot for your help... I am creating a customized home page that can display regular links and login forms. I am adding Gmail login form into it. I can further customize it by putting multiple sign in buttons that can fill in username/password for different accounts before submitting. Here's the preview: http://imgur.com/s4Ert.jpg Now the problem is, in Gmail login form a hidden variable called "dsh" is filled with a value that is matched with server as well as a cookie, this value changes in some hours. So this means that I cannot create a complete offline form, but is it possible to load the login page hidden, and catch the value from it? I tried with an iframe with display:none and src="http://mail.google.com" but it opened in the top frame. Any other ideas? In short, what we need is, every time a page is opened from my computer, an online page should be open invisible from the user, and a hidden form value is to be fetched from it. I have a form with allot of form items on it that posts to itself. I am trying to pass those form values to another page with out using the action attribute in the form. Is there a way to do this? I have tried jquery and javascript but coming up blank. Just trying to pass all the values at one time to another page. Seems a little difficult to me since im a intermediate javascript programmer. Any ideas are welcome and thank you in advance if someone knows how to get this going. Here is what i am trying to do script wise. theform is the ID of the form. I have a switch statement that is based on the button pressed would get into that statement. So if one of the three buttons on the page is "excel report" it should get into that statement and pass the values of the form to another page. I have tried this: Code: <cfswitch expression="#LCase(Trim(FORM.submit))#"> <cfcase value="Excel Report"> <cfoutput> <script> function formSubmit() { var form = document.forms.theForm; // change the url form.action ="index.cfm?keyword=Report PDF New"; form.submit(); } </cfoutput> </script> </cfcase> </cfswitch> AND This: Code: <cfswitch expression="#LCase(Trim(FORM.submit))#"> <cfcase value="PDF Report"> <script> $('##submit').click(function(){ open('',"results"); with(document.print) { method = "POST"; action = "index.cfm?keyword=Report PDF New"; target = "results"; submit(); } }); </script> </cfcase> </cfswitch> Hello Coding Forum gurus, I'm hoping to find some help here with a javascript order form. I am currently working on a javascript form that requires field validation as well as a summary page (order confirmation) after every field is entered correctly. At this point I am satisfied with the field validation portion of the script, however, I am not sure how to call a function to display the summary page. here is a description of my dilemma: To begin, the field validation functions are called by the form's onsubmit event handler. Which then works it way through several text field validation functions. After the script finishes validating and checking each field for acceptable input, how do I call a function to display a summary page of the order form? On a side note, the only programming experience I have ever had is with javascript. I have never taken any other programming classes, and I am fairly new to this. Any help would be appreciated. Not sure if I am allowed to post the entire script here or not but I'd be willing to send to anyone that would like to take a look, HUGE THANK YOU in advance to anyone that takes time out of their busy schedules to take a look. |
