JavaScript - Varying Cell Contents Based On A Single Session State Change.
Hi friends,
What I have been trying to achieve is, On my index.htm, I have a horizontal cell named "memberarea" which originally shows username & password input fields. After the user logs in, this area changes itself to a "Welcome Name, Lastname" field. I want that this cell displays again the username and password input fields in case of the session of the user has expired. I have tried it with the following code (within the Iframe in index.htm): ----------------------------------------- <script> if ("<%=session("LoginFirstName")%>" == "") { var m = " <p align="center"> <font style="font-size: 8pt; font-weight: 700" face="arial"> Username:</font> <span style="font-size: 1pt"> <input type="text" name="uid" id="uid" size="14" style="width: 65; height: 17; font-size: 8pt"></span><font face="arial" style="font-size: 8pt"> </font><font style="font-size: 8pt; font-weight: 700" face="arial">Password:</font><font face="arial" style="font-size: 8pt"> </font><span style="font-size: 1pt"> <input type="password" name="pwd" id="pwd" maxlength="10" size="14" style="width: 65; height: 17; font-size: 8pt"></span><span style="font-size: 1px"> </span> <input type="submit" value="Enter" name="B1" style="width: 35; height: 17; font-size:9px" onclick="return login()">"; window.parent.document.getElementById('memberarea').innerHTML=m; } </script> -------------------------------------------------- This code gives me the error that on the 12xx'the line (which does not exist-the whole code is 5xx lines). there is a ";" missing which I could not found. Any ideas how to achieve this? Thank you for your comments Similar TutorialsI am working on a project where I have 5 XML files that I bring into HTML and display the tables on one browser page. I would like for the row of the tables to change depending on what is in the "status" field. There will only be the following inputs in that column - "IS" which is in stock(green), "OS" which is out of stock(red), and "PO" which is Pre-Order(blue). You can also probably tell how the XML files are structured by looking at the way they are displayed in the tables. I think what I want to do can be accomplished with JavaScript, but I have no idea how to do it and it's the only thing I have left before I'm done. Any help would really be appreciated and thanks in advance. I need to make a javascript that when I am at a page within a game I play and click the javascript, it will get the value of a table cell, separate them to x and y variables and then put the values into a link that opens. The open link is of a php script that uses $_GET for the values of the variables to query my database. I am terrible at javascript and have been trying to do this for 2 days now with no success. So I hope I can find help here. Here's the scripts so it is easier to understand: This is part of the html page that is from the game. Thanks for the help, it is much appreciated. Here is what I'm envisioning: The user selects a state, then in the 'Cities' box, he starts typing the name of his city. However, it autocompletes the name for him based on the state he chose. So if he chose California and started typing in "Los Angeles", it would autocomplete "Los Angeles" for him. Does that make sense? Is there a script out there that can do this? Hey all, I'm trying to get the two followup questions underneath the checkbox to show up only if someone places a check there, but for some reason the way I've got it set up now it's simply hiding the area I want to show up altogether, and the checkbox has no effect on it. Rather than waste tons of space pasting it here, here's the pastebin: http://pastebin.ca/1822165 alternatively here is the live version: http://soniajacobwedding.com/site/rsvptest.html I'd prefer to have the form collapse when the additional questions are hidden, though if i can get this working at all I'd be pretty happy. Hi guys. I am a newbie here on this forum. I have tried to learn how to use javascript on HTML forms however I just couldn't find the answers to my questions on the net. Perhaps I am not using the correct 'terms' when searching so I decided to join a forum like this to ask help. Anyway, I have a form with multiple inputboxes and lists and my goal is to generate and display all the accumulated information to a textarea so that the user can copy it afterwards. I have an idea how I could make it work but I am not entirely sure how to put it on a code. I actually have a number of questions on this so let me start off with the first one. I am eager to learn javascript so I would post my questions one after the other as my questions get answered. That way I get to learn how to build the code from the top. So my first one is this.. 1. I would like to know how to display a user input on an inputbox to a textarea. My html form is like this: Code: <html> <head> <script language="javascript"> function generateLogs (form) { TW_Logger.tickDoc.value = TW_Logger.name.value; } </script> </head> <body> <form name="TW_Logger"> <label for="name_id">Name: </label> <input type="text" name="name" id="name_id"/><br /><br /> <label for="logs_id">Ticket Documentation: </label><br /> <textarea cols="53" rows="5" name="tickDoc" id="tickDoc_id"> </textarea><br /><br /> <label></label> <input type="submit" value="Generate Logs" class="button1" onclick="generateLogs(this.form) " /> </form> </body> </html> I don't know what I did wrong but the script is not working. I appreciate any help I can get from anyone. Thanks! <script language="JavaScript"> function changeColor(cell_id){var state1="#dde6ed"; var state2="#ffc20e"; var cellid = new Array ("id1", "id2", "id3", "id4", "id5", "id6"); for(var i = 0; i < cellid.length; i++){var nav = document.getElementById(cellid[i]); if(cellid == nav.id){nav.style.backgroundColor=state2;} else {nav.style.backgroundColor=state1;}}} </script> Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this script. I put an onClick= changeColor(this);" in my <td> tag to call the script but still not working. Hi.. Im currently working on my project and I have a big problem with changing the layout of tabs. Basically, when I launch my GUI, it will display "No Data Available" in my view tab. In my Add tab, I have the admin panel whereby the user enters the data to be stored and display. the problem now lies when displaying. It is a juke ringtone gallery whereby when there are data being stored in the database, it will display the following in a Gridlayout; I applied the ChangeListener to the JTabbedPane which is tp. I added tabs using tp.add. I declared this in my ChangeListener: if(tp.getSelectedIndex() == 0) createViewPanel(); else if(tp.getSelectedIndex()==1) createAddPanel(); where createViewPanel() is for the View tab and createAddPanel() is for the Add tab. i also called the respective tabs using frameView = (JPanel)tp.getComponent(0); to get the layout for View tab and frameAdd = (JPanel)tp.getComponent(1); to get the layout for the Add tab. What methods need I use so that I can display the different data in the specific GridLayout to be displayed in the View tab or what other ways can I do it? Hi all, I currently have this javascript that will change the cell to green with one click... Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function ColorChange(obj){ obj.style.color='#FFFFFF'; obj.style.backgroundColor='#66CC33'; obj.parentNode.style.backgroundColor='#66CC33'; } </script> echo "<td align=\"center\" bgcolor=\"#EEEEEE\"><a href=\"#\" onclick=\"ColorChange(this)\">$day_num</a></td>"; the problem is that I need around 3 different colors to be possible.. e.g. 1 click turns cell green | 2 turns is red | 3 turns it orange. I'm not sure how to take this javascript further? Would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction? Many thanks, Greens85 Hi there, I basically need script that will detect if the user is using Internet Explorer, and then display a different page to the one that would be loaded for any other browser.
Hello everyone, I run an educational website with a CSS/JavaScript based menu that is right now only single level. I am trying to convert it over to multi level. I have tried a few other multi level menus but I have done a lot of customization in terms of appearance for this current menu, so none of the new ones looked right. I was wondering if I could get some help? It seems simple, yet I can't figure it out. Here is the site: http://www.anthonyteacher.com Here is the CSS: http://www.anthonyteacher.com/wp-con...nk2L/style.css (see /* Main Menu */ ) Here is the JavaScript: http://pastebin.com/jx8zQJeA I'd appreciate any help! Thanks! ^^ (A) Hi All I'm trying to get a drop down box to change the colour of more than 1 td cell at a time. I can get the boxes to work with single cells but not more than one. Hello, I am trying to change the value of #name and #category inputs based on the value of select. A friend gave me the code below, but I can't get it to work. Thanks so much for your help Code: <script type="text/javascript"> $('#Gift_Type').change(function(){ if ($(this).val() == 'Monthly'){ $('#name').val('Partnership') $('#category').val('Partnership') } else { $('#name').val('Donation') $('#category').val('Donations') } }) </script> Code: <SELECT NAME="sub_frequency" ID="Gift_Type" onchange="OnSelectionChanged (this)"> <OPTION VALUE="1m">Monthly</OPTION> <OPTION VALUE="">One Time</OPTION> </SELECT> Code: <input type="text" id="name" name="name" value="Partnership" /> <input type="text" id="category" name="category" value="Partnership" /> I am trying to change a character limit based on items changed in a drop down menu. To do this I have one function that will change the posted count based on the currently selected option and another function that is a commonly used char count with a few tweaks. The main issue is getting the value of the currently selected option. I know that selectedIndex will return the position of the selected element rather than the actual value. I tried to code around that. I've tried every method I could find on google and nothing works. So, I may have a bigger problem on a higher level that I just don't understand. If any of you can take a look at my code and give me your thoughts I would be most appreciative. Thanks! Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <title></title> <script type="text/javascript"> function checkTextArea(fromto){ var textstring = "textarea"; var id = textstring + fromto; var destination = document.forms["form1"].[id.selectedIndex].text; if (destination=="1") { var limit = "500"; } else { var limit = "1000"; } if (document.getElementById(id)){ var txt = document.getElementById(id).value; if (txt.length>limit){ document.getElementById(id).value = txt.substr(0,limit); } len = document.getElementById(id).value.length; span_id = "span" + id; if (document.getElementById(span_id)){ document.getElementById(span_id).innerHTML = (limit-len); } // if } //if } //function function chardisplay(fromto) { var deststring = "dest"; var identifier = deststring + fromto; // no idea how to make this work...seems to stop working whenever I try to assign it to any kind of variable // I have also tried assigning .value and .text // I have also tried naming it with document.forms["form1"].[identifier.selectedIndex] // also using .value and .text var harmless = document.getElementById('identifier').selectedIndex; alert("value="+document.getElementById('identifier').value); alert("text="+document.getElementById('identifier').options.[harmless].text); var spanstring = "spantextarea"; var spanidentifier = spanstring + fromto; if (harmless=="1") { document.getElementById(spanidentifier).innerHTML = "500"; } else { document.getElementById(spanidentifier).innerHTML = "1000"; } } </script> </head> <body> <form id="form1" name="form1" method="POST" action="myurl"> <p><span id="spantextareafrSOMENUMBER">500</span> characters left </p> <select name="destfrSOMENUMBER" onchange="javascript:chardisplay('frSOMENUMBER');\" onfocusout="javascript:chardisplay('frSOMENUMBER');\" onblur="javascript:chardisplay('frSOMENUMBER');\"> <option value="opt1">display option 1</option> <option value="opt2">display option 2</option> <option value="opt3">display option 3</option> </select> <textarea onkeyup="checkTextArea('textareafrSOMENUMBER');" name="mesgfrSOMENUMBER" id="textareafrSOMENUMBER" cols=50 rows=4></textarea> </form> </table> </body> </html> Hi Guys, I am looking for a script to change text on a page based on the time of day. From 9am - 5pm weekdays I would like the page to display 'Open', and outside of that window to display 'Closed'. I am using HTML & PHP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt I have a list of thumbnails generated by Wordpress. I've been trying to piece together a script that would change the ID of the parent element based on the image inside of it I can't seem to get anywhere, does anyone have a simple solution? I need the id of the li to be "sm" or "smp" depending on the width of the image inside of it (landscape or portrait) Code: <li class="frame" id="sm"> <div class="frm" id="frame1"> <img src="image.jpg"> </div> </li> I'm new to coding and recently undertook the position as my school district's webmaster. We use a six day schedule where the days are labeled A-F. I want to be able to display the Today is...A graphic based on the date. I tried some scripts from other forums, but it does not appear to be working. Any suggestions? TY <code> <script language="javascript"> <!-- var picture=''; mytime=new Date(); mymonth=mytime.getMonth()+1; mydate=mytime.getDate(); if (mymonth==9 && mydate==13){picture="<img src=/images/d.gif>"; } if (mymonth==9 && mydate==14){picture="<img src=/images/e.gif width=150 height=150 alt=E>"; } if (mymonth==9 && mydate==15){picture="<img src=/images/f.gif width=150 height=150 alt=F>"; } if (mymonth==9 && mydate==16){picture="<img src=/images/A.gif width=150 height=150 alt=A>"; } if (mymonth==9 && mydate==19){picture="<img src=/images/B.gif width=150 height=150 alt=B>"; } if (mymonth==9 && mydate==20){picture="<img src=/images/c.gif width=150 height=150 alt=C>"; } //--> </script></code> Hi guys I have a little problem. I have 2 textfields and I need to change a link href based on whatever is in those textfields. The link has to be in this format: Code: <a class="display" href="test.php?test1=textfield1&test2=textfield2">test</a> The reason for this is I need to launch fancybox and as far as im aware this is the best way to call it. So what im hoping is when I add type something in textfield1 this will be reflected in the url. And same for textfield2. I know this can be done easily if I submit the page but I dont want that. Hopefully some javascript/ajax can help me out? I hope im being clear but let me know if im not. Thanks so much! thanks anyway
