JavaScript - Pop-up Window Doesnt Work In Ie8
I use a basic pop-up window code that i have used for many years. I probably need to update it, but i was wondering why it will work for every browser but IE8. Can anyone help?
Code: function popUp(URL) { day = new Date(); id = day.getTime(); eval("page" + id + " = window.open(URL, '" + id + "', 'toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,location=0,statusbar=1,menubar=0,resizable=0,width=600,height=400,left = 540,top = 325');"); } Code: <a href="javascript:popUp('/email/agent/aid/<?php echo $this->agent->pers_code?>')" > can anyone see something that may cause the problem? Thanks for any help! Similar TutorialsIm new to javascript and trying to make a form validator, ive succeeded but its left me confussed as to setting variables. my original code was Code: function applyform() { var name = document.getElementById('mainname'); var lvl = document.getElementById('mainlvl'); var class = document.getElementById('mainclass'); var role = document.getElementById('mainrole'); var reason = document.getElementById('reason'); var age = document.getElementById('age'); var mic = document.getElementById('microphone'); var voice = document.getElementById('voice'); if(notempty(name, "Please enter your main characters name")){ if(dropselect(lvl, "Please select your characters level")){ if(dropselect(class, "Please select your characters class")){ if(dropselect(role, "Please select your characters role")){ if(notempty(reason, "Please tell us why you wish to join us")){ if(notempty(age, "Please state your age")){ if(notempty(mic, "Please state if you have a microphone")){ if(notempty(voice, "Please state if you will use voice communication during events")){ return true; } } } } } } } } return false; } using this stoped all my javascript functions working but i cant see any fault with it. I've changed the code now to Code: function applyform() { if(notempty(document.getElementById('mainname'), "Please enter your main characters name")){ if(dropselect(document.getElementById('mainlvl'), "Please select your characters level")){ if(dropselect(document.getElementById('mainclass'), "Please select your characters class")){ if(dropselect(document.getElementById('mainrole'), "Please select your characters role")){ if(notempty(document.getElementById('reason'), "Please tell us why you wish to join us")){ if(notempty(document.getElementById('age'), "Please state your age")){ if(notempty(document.getElementById('microphone'), "Please state if you have a microphone")){ if(notempty(document.getElementById('voice'), "Please state if you will use voice communication during events")){ return true; } } } } } } } } return false; } this works fine but i don't get why my first bit of code didnt work and id really appreciate someone explaining it to me. thanks in advance Can anyone please tell me what im doing wrong? Hey guys I have a stupid problem, my teacher asked us to DONT use javadscript in html (like onchange ="....") If i use following js in html my page works: <select id="car" name="car" onchange="configurator()"> If i delete that last piece and try to code it in a .js file like: document.getElementsById("car").onchange = configurator; it doesnt work, it doest recognize the .onchange method Thanks in advance <html> <script language="javascript"> function checkForm() { String name= document.getElementById("name"); if(name.length==0) return ; // else // return ; } </script> <body> <form action="test2.jsp" onclick =" return checkForm()"> <input type="text" name="name" value="shyam" id="name" /> <input type="submit" name="sub" value="clickme" /> </form> </body> </html> Hi All, Im trying to add some content by JS (which ive done) but i cant click a link i have made; JS: Code: function game() { document.getElementById('title').innerHTML = '<p style="float: left; text-decoration: underline; font-weight: bold;">Deady Teddy</p><img src=css/images/popup/close.png style="float: right; cursor: hand;" href="javascript: hideModal("modalPage");"></img>'; } *Yes i know about the Href but if i put "onClick" it gives errors*; HTML: Code: <a href="javascript:void(0);" onClick="javascript: revealModal('modalPage'); game();">Deady Teddy </a> And place its adding it to: Code: <div id="modalPage"> <div class="modalBackground"></div> <div class="modalContainer"> <div class="modal"> <div class="modalTop" id="title" onselectstart='return false'> </div></div></div></div> Any Idea's? function hasTagsInText(text) { if(text.indexOf("<TABLE") >=0 || text.indexOf("<table") >=0) return 'table'; ///this line of code doesnt work in firefox Trying to have my navigation have an on click and selected state, but I am not able to do so with this code (website is: http://bit.ly/rgwsite ) Code: $('nav li a').click(function() { $(this).parent().addClass('on').siblings().removeClass('on'); }); nav li is as follows Code: <nav> <li class="highlt"> <a href="index.php" class="home"><span>Home</span></a> </li> The reason we need to use a jquery/javascript action to add the class to the navigation is because it doesn't refresh when a new page loads. For instance, when you're on the home page and click on the tab "Experience RGW", it only loads the content for that page below the header (within the "#ajax" div). Currently, none of these scripts are working. There is no reason they shouldn't... could there be something else causing the page not to recognize the jquery script and run it on-click? The main reason I ask is because I've tried to test the function and add an alert, but even that didn't work this is my code ______________________________________________________________ <pega:when test="$mode-input"> <script language="JavaScript"> function showNextButton() { handleClientEvent('SERVER','MakeScoreOrder','','-1'); /* fetches the data */ var submitClicked = "<p:r n='pyWorkPage.PFRSData.SubmitClicked' />"; var submitClicked = submitClicked.replace(/^\s\s*/, '').replace(/\s\s*$/, ''); var msg = "<p:r n='pyWorkPage.PFRSData.HasMessages' />"; var msg = msg.replace(/^\s\s*/, '').replace(/\s\s*$/, ''); if (submitClicked == "" || msg =="true") { toggleSubmitBtn(0); } else if (submitClicked == "true" || msg =="false") { toggleSubmitBtn(1); } } function toggleSubmitBtn(status) { var submitButton=document.actionForm.submitButton; if(submitButton) { var parentTable=pega.u.d.findParentTable(submitButton); if(parentTable) if(status) { if(parentTable.style.display=='none' || parentTable.style.display=='') { parentTable.style.display='inline'; document.actionForm.submitButton.disabled=false; } } else { parentTable.style.display='none'; document.actionForm.submitButton.disabled=true; } } } </script> <button onClick="showNextButton();" id="PISSubmit" style="vertical-align:middle;"> <span class='buttonLeft'></span> <span class='buttonMiddle'> <span class='buttonText' onmouseover="this.className='buttonTextHover'" onmouseout="this.className='buttonText'">Submit</span> </span> <span class='buttonRight'></span> </button> </pega:when> ___________________________________________________________ On clicking PISsubmit button it should fetch data and display the next button(submitButton).. but on first click nothing happens on second click it fetches the data and third click it displays Next(submitButton)button. The code for my function so far is: Code: function ValidateWebDetails { window.open("faqs.html") } To test whether the function actually worked, I first attached it to a button with this code: Code: <form method="post"> <input type="button" value="Go To FAQS" onClick="ValidateWebDetails()" </form> However, when I went to test the button, when I clicked on it, no new window was displayed and I was wondering what I could do to fix the problem. Any help is appreciated! Hi Friends, I am really tired with Chrome , one of my window.open() Stuff work fine in FF and Opera in Fedora O.S. But Chrome Did not , my code is like: <script type="text/javascript"> function getpage(id, type){ $.ajax({ type: "POST", data: "key="+id, async: false, url: "<?php echo site_url(); ?>/server/precp/"+type, success: function (msg) { window.open("<?php echo site_url(); ?>/server/cplogin/"+msg, "autologin"); } }); } </script> and it call in another JavaScript function like: function doKeyup(id,e) { if(e == 13) { //alert("e:"+e); var cp = $("table#serverdata tbody tr#container_tr.row_no td:nth-child(7) a#cp").html(); var dc = $("table#serverdata tbody tr#container_tr.row_no td:nth-child(7) a#dc").html(); if(cp != null || dc != null ) { var firstId = $("table#serverdata tbody tr#container_tr.row_no td:nth-child(1) input[type=checkbox]").val(); } if(cp != null) { alert("Enter here"); getpage(firstId,'cp'); return false; } and it firstly call from onkeyup as : <input type="text" name="find_text0" id="find_text0" autocomplete="off" <?php if ('B' == $sb_pos) { ?> onfocus="document.getElementById('find_text1').value='';" <?php } ?> onkeyup = "return doKeyup('0',event.keyCode);" /> Please Give me a Solution ASAP. Thankfully Anes The photo html files on the Fanac Fan History project's website are setup to be displayed properly when JavaScript is disabled and reformatted by a php script when JavaScript is enabled. The reformatting adds some features and positions each photo's caption and credits based on the width of the photo and the browser's page width. This worked well except that, when a photo page was accessed the browser's back button wouldn't work properly. This was because I had failed to include the replace option in my windows.open statement. The statement now reads fileWindow = window.open(fileURL, "_self", "", true); and this has cured the problem with IE but it still doesn't work with FireFox. Oddly enough it worked correctly with Google's Chrome with/without the replace and with Opera and Safari it also sort of worked without the replace. With replace Opera works correctly but Safari stll needs a double click. Any suggestions? Hi there, I hope I post this in the right section. I'm trying to do a redirect using the below code: <script type="text/javascript"> window.location.href = "http://google.com" </script> FF and IE work as they should. Chrome doesn't. The request above to http://google.com, gets a 'canceled' status in Chrome browser > Development tools > "Network". I've tried several other functions: location.href = url location.replace(url) document.location = url location.assign(url) window.open(url, '_self') Same code pasted within a local html file works fine. Below is the redirect request that it's canceled by chrome: http://pastebin.com/hD36M1RG Any clues? Thanks Hello all, and thank you for your coments, I want to preserve a 16/9 aspect ratio to the window after any resize, making the width a function of the height. As I have a window.resizeTo() inside the window.onresize event function, the infinite loop is served. How may I quit it? Code: <html><head><title>Title</title><script languaje="javascript"> const c_ra=16/9; window.onresize = function WindowReSize() { var myWidth = 0, myHeight = 0; if( typeof( window.innerWidth ) == 'number' ) { //Non-IE // myWidth = window.innerWidth; myHeight = window.innerHeight; } else if( document.documentElement && ( document.documentElement.clientWidth || document.documentElement.clientHeight ) ) { //IE 6+ in 'standards compliant mode' // myWidth = document.documentElement.clientWidth; myHeight = document.documentElement.clientHeight; } myWidth = Math.floor(myHeight*c_ra); window.resizeTo(myWidth,myHeight); // ** CAUTION resize event in a onresize event handler ! }; </script></head><body><p>Hello World</p></body></html> i have this code i need to close the parent.html window when the child window opened, i need the code for that working well in IE and Firefox Parent.html <HTML> <SCRIPT TYPE="text/javascript"> function sendTo() { window.open('child.html','_blank','resizable=yes,width='+(screen.width-500)+',height='+(screen.height-500)+''); } </SCRIPT> <BODY > <form name="form"> <input type="text" value="" name="text1" id="pdetails1"> <input type="text" value="" name="text1" id="pdetails2"> </br> <input type="submit" value="submit" onClick="sendTo()"> </BODY> </HTML> child.html <html> <body> <form> <input type=text name="text5" value=""> <input type=submit name="submit"value="submit"> </form> </body> </html> Here is the program: http://www.1728.com/newwindow.htm Basically, I want to input a number in the input box, which assigns a number to the variable numval located at document.box1.b1. When clicking on the "new window" button, an alert displays the input box value, then another window opens and displays the integers 1 through 12 and the amount squared. I would like the new window to obtain the number from the previous window so that the new window will display integers (and their squares) from 1 to the value of numval. |
