Hello, Current Live View: https://tornhq.com/AroundTheWorld/Lo...WorkingOn.html This content is going to be implemented into a form I am currently working on once completed. As you can see, not all of the countries have yet been broken down as some we're having difficulties doing so. Code: SList.getSelect = function (slist, option) { document.getElementById('scontent').innerHTML = ''; // empty option-content if (SList[slist][option]) { // if option from the last Select, add text-content, else, set dropdown list if (slist == 'scontent') document.getElementById('scontent').innerHTML = SList[slist][option]; else { var addata = '<option>- - -</option>'; for (var i = 0; i < SList[slist][option].length; i++) { addata += '<option value="' + SList[slist][option][i] + '">' + SList[slist][option][i] + '</option>'; } // cases for each dropdown list switch (slist) { case 'slist2': document.getElementById('slist2').innerHTML = txtsl2 + ' <select name="slist2" onchange="SList.getSelect(\'slist3\', this.value);">' + addata + '</select>'; document.getElementById('slist3').innerHTML = ''; break; case 'slist3': document.getElementById('slist3').innerHTML = txtsl3 + ' <select name="slist3" onchange="SList.getSelect(\'scontent\', this.value);">' + addata + '</select>'; break; } } } else { // empty the tags for select lists if (slist == 'slist2') { document.getElementById('slist2').innerHTML = ''; document.getElementById('slist3').innerHTML = ''; } else if (slist == 'slist3') { document.getElementById('slist3').innerHTML = ''; } } } I need to know how to edit the following, if there is a simple way to set the case for each one as they are not all split up into the same way, some are Districts, some states and whatnot so the new question varies. Or do I simply need to make another big list to do them all? Best Regards, Tim Reply With Quote 03-21-2013, 06:35 AM #2 Old Pedant View Profile View Forum Posts Supreme Master coder! Join Date Feb 2009 Posts 28,311 Thanks 82 Thanked 4,754 Times in 4,716 Posts Well, for starters, this is generally a really bad way to add <select>s and <option>s. Period. I would certainly toss out your entire getSelect() function and rewrite it. But I'm also not clear on what your question is. Are you asking *HOW* to implement the third level? I don't see any countries with any third level data, at this point. If that's what you are asking, one possible way: Code: SList.slist2 = { ... "United Kingdom" : { "England" : ["Staffordshire", "Derby", ... ], "Scotland" : ["Edinburgh", ... ], "Wales" : [ ... ], "Northern Ireland" : [ .... ] }, ... }; I have to ask: Why would you name that Slist.slist2 instead of Slist.countries ?? Not that it really matters, but why not make code more self documenting? I have a javascript for a tree view but i need to change it according to the requirement. Lets start with example with the treeview as follow: 1 Door phone 1.1 Ready Kits 1.1.1 Audioset 1.1.2 Videoset 1.2 Audio Kits 1.2.1 Elphone 1.2.2 Video Door phone 2 CCTV 2.1 Camera 2.1.1 Dome Camera 2.1.2 IP Camera 2.2 Others Now the thing is in the current treeview a single category is open at a time. like if 1.1.1 is open 1.1.2 will b closed and similarly if 1.1 is open...1.2 will b closed. But i want that when i click on 1(Door phone) ie Door phone...evry node should be opened instead of just one similary when i click on 2(CCTV), all its node should be opened. I hope it will be possible to achieve this and i would be helped. My succeeding post will be the javascript i need help with. I know how to do each task individually, but combining the two is giving me trouble. So far I have: Code: function checkSent(divname) { if(document.URL.indexOf("sent") >= 0) *document.getElementById(success).style.display = 'block'; } var sentornot = checkSent(); // If the URL contains the word, sent, then change the display of the element "success" to block I can successfully determine whether the string exists in the URL by adding an alert, but the Javascript to change the CSS doesn't work. The CSS for the div element "success" is as follows: Code: #success { display: none; } Any help is appreciated! Thanks! Edit: If needed, this is the code I used to test whether the "check URL" portion works: Code: function checkSent(divname) { if(document.URL.indexOf("sent") >= 0) { alert("found"); document.getElementById("success").style.display = 'block'; //this line doesn't work :( } else{ alert("not found"); } } Hi im a newbie to java so please don't laugh. Hello. I am trying to create a javascript function which when declaring a new object, would give it properties. I'll try and show what I am doing with some code, then explain it. Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var Draggable = { Create: function(e, options) { newStyle(e, options); } }; function newStyle(destination, options) { for (x in options) { document.getElementById(destination).style.x = options[x]; } } new Draggable.Create('text', options = {border: "1px solid red"}); </script> <div id="text">Text</div> With this code, I am trying to create a new instance. I am then trying to change the border of the div with the id of "text". I know doing .style.x is what is breaking, but I'm not sure how to make it so the x will, work or to return that back to the Create function and work with it there? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Hi.. Im currently working on my project and I have a big problem with changing the layout of tabs. Basically, when I launch my GUI, it will display "No Data Available" in my view tab. In my Add tab, I have the admin panel whereby the user enters the data to be stored and display. the problem now lies when displaying. It is a juke ringtone gallery whereby when there are data being stored in the database, it will display the following in a Gridlayout; I applied the ChangeListener to the JTabbedPane which is tp. I added tabs using tp.add. I declared this in my ChangeListener: if(tp.getSelectedIndex() == 0) createViewPanel(); else if(tp.getSelectedIndex()==1) createAddPanel(); where createViewPanel() is for the View tab and createAddPanel() is for the Add tab. i also called the respective tabs using frameView = (JPanel)tp.getComponent(0); to get the layout for View tab and frameAdd = (JPanel)tp.getComponent(1); to get the layout for the Add tab. What methods need I use so that I can display the different data in the specific GridLayout to be displayed in the View tab or what other ways can I do it? Dear Experts Var str="this is a string" I want to know how to replace this with Uppercase while using regular expression. Please help I am using a great script i downloaded at http://kryogenix.org/code/browser/sorttable/ to sort tables by the header. my problem is I want to add to this that everyother row should have a gray background. I now do it by assigning a different class to every other row but when you sort it keeps the class. -- is there a way to change the background color of every other row in javascript that I can use with the above script? background: display 3-4 pictures and a generic parargraph. when you mouseover a picture the parargragh changes to the bio of the person pictured and doesn't change until a different picture is mouseovered or a reset butten is clicked. current code: i have adapted some code I found (thank you, donator) to basicly hide and unhide a span ID on mouseover. if functions as i want but the element id is hardcoded and i would like it to be dynamic on mouse location. not being that familair w/ coding and / or javascript; i'm stuck. Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var el; var cpic; //elementId via mouse position window.onload=function() { el=document.getElementById('pic1'); el.onmouseover=function() { changeText('hide','show') } } function changeText(cl1,cl2) { document.getElementById('span1').className=cl1; document.getElementById('span2').className=cl2; } </script> so the above works for 1 image, but as you can see "pic1" is hard coded. i figured i could define "cpic" to takes it's place, but i'm not sure how to get the elementId (i'm assuming it would be from the mouse position). if the above code is totaly the wrong approach let me know. it was just the first thing i found that seemed to do what i needed. on the HTML side "span1" is the default text and "span2" is the hidden mouseover text. i'm assuming that by adding 2 more pictures i'll need to add "span3" and "span4". i'll also have to find a way of hiding the other spans. I.E. if i go from pic2 to pic3 then, the pic2 text will have to be hidden before pic3 text is displayed. one thing i don't want to do is restrict the mouse to be focused on the picture to display the text. the text should change only when another picture is in focus or the rest button is clicked. any direction / suggestions would be a big help. regards, Fatmann66 I have some own cursor with a .cur file. But it's very annoying to try changing each part from the css to the new cursor. Is there no aviable script in JS or HTML or CSS or whatever there is, that i can press the link for all cursor like: Pointer, defaut, wait, stop, link and so on. So they all changes into my own? Without having those white cursor. |
