JavaScript - Help With Javascript For Paypal
Hey guys, I need some help with my website I am making, I have gotten into reading over javascript to try to learn but I am probably far from being able to do anything. If someone wouldnt mind helping that would be great. This is what I am trying to do.
here is a sample page of what the code needs to go along with- yes please excuse the crappy coding of HTML and what not. http://decaldude.net/honda.html i am using paypals add to cart buttons. the problem with them is that they only allow you to specify a single price for an item. the two drop down boxes you see have options that can change the cost of that item. so basically what i need is some javascript that looks at the options chosen and based on what is selected, modify the price that is sent to paypal. so yeah would be great if someone could help. dont want to ask too much but if someone else wanted to make it display that change in price where i have the price listed that would be awesome. yeah i make decals so if anyone wants to help out and wants a custom sticker made for them just lemme know. Similar TutorialsHi Guys I have a existing Java script that passes payments to Paypal, i now need it changing but have not got a clue about Java, so im looking for some help. would be really gratfull if anyone could help I am trying to do a custom add to cart to use with paypal and need to utilize javascript to achieve inserting some code or a weight value per the paypal forms' options choice. Here is my dilemma, All of my items have multiple weights, for instance the below example called Aqua Max 100 comes in .5lbs, 1.5lbs., 10lbs., 20lbs., and 50lbs. Paypal allows you to enter weight but it's one weight per item and I would have to create 5 Paypal buttons just for this one item to calculate the different weights per zip code. I need help making javascript insert the following code within the paypal forms' code upon option select before clicking submit? <input type="hidden" name="weight" value=".5"> <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> <input type="hidden" name="weight" value="1.5"> <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> <input type="hidden" name="weight" value="10 <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> <input type="hidden" name="weight" value="20 <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> <input type="hidden" name="weight" value="50 <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> The code I came up with is wrong as I'm getting an error but I was originally trying to make it enter a weight using a hidden fillable number and without any real javascript training, just alot of googling but I think I'm pretty close. Please take a look at the code I've came up with so far and maybe point me in the correct direction: <html> <body> <form target="paypal" action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_cart"> <input type="hidden" name="business" value="test@test.com"> <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD"> <input type='hidden'text' name='amt' id='amt' value="0.00"/> <table> <tr> <td> <input type="text" name="on0" value="Aqua Max 100">Aqua Max 100</td></tr> <tr><td> <select name="os0" onChange="getamt()"> <option value="select">Please Select</option> <option value="1/2 lb.">1/2 lb. $3.99 USD</option> <option value="1 - 1/2 lbs">1 - 1/2 lbs $7.59 USD</option> <option value="10 lbs.">10 lbs. $25.80 USD</option> <option value="20 lbs.">20 lbs. $42.75 USD</option> <option value="50 lbs.">50 lbs. $86.20 USD</option> </select></td></tr> </table> <script type="text/javascript"> function getamt() { var sh=0; var choice = document.getElementById("os0").selectedIndex; if (choice == 0) { sh=0; } if (choice == 1) { sh=.5; } if (choice == 2) { sh=1.5; } if (choice == 3) { sh=10; } if (choice == 4) { sh=20 } if (choice == 5) { sh=50.00; } document.getElementById("on0").value=sh; } </script> <input type="image" src="https://images.paypal.com/images/sc-but-03.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!" /> <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"> </form> </body> </html> Hi, I have three buttons on my site. When a button is clicked it pulls down a javascript pop up questionaire box. When the person closes the box they're redirected to Paypal depending on which button they clicked, hence the 3 if else options toward the end of this script. How might the following code be rewritten so that the pop up box no longer exists, but so the options still function and redirect correctly to Paypal? Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function popup(option){ Modalbox.show('<div><p>How did you learn about Dinosaur Pop?</p> <textarea id="message" name="message" rows="4" cols="30"></textarea><br><br><input type="button" value="Send" onclick="Modalbox.hide(); redirect(' + option + ');" /> or <input type="button" value="No, leave it!" onclick="Modalbox.hide(); redirect(' + option + ');" /></div>', {title: "Question", width: 300}); return false; } function redirect(option) { var messageObj = document.getElementById("message"); if (messageObj != null && messageObj.value != "") { var url = 'submit_message.php?message=' + encodeURIComponent(messageObj.value); new Ajax.Request(url, { method: 'get', onSuccess: function(transport) { } }) } if (option == 1) document._xclick.submit(); else if (option == 2) document._xclick1.submit(); else if (option == 3) window.location = "download/Dinosaur Pop Book.pdf"; } </script> Hi all, I'm new here and need some help. I don't know Javascript at all. I have a paypal form that looks like this: Code: <FORM action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="VMMCF6CUGBPAN"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="on0" value="DATA">DATA<BR> <SELECT name="os0"> <OPTION value="250" selected="selected">DATA</OPTION> <OPTION value="400">DATA</OPTION> <OPTION value="1000">DATA</OPTION> </SELECT> <INPUT type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD"> <BR> <INPUT type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!"><IMG alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"> </FORM> This form works perfectly with my system now. I'm trying to add one fourth option that will redirect to another page, but I'm not sure if changing the name of the select will break the paypal transaction. So I tried this solution: Code: <FORM action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="VMMCF6CUGBPAN"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="URL" value="DATA">DATA<BR> <SELECT name="URL" onchange="window.location.href= this.form.URL.options[this.form.URL.selectedIndex].value"> <OPTION value="250" selected="selected">DATA</OPTION> <OPTION value="500">500 Words</OPTION> <OPTION value="1000">1000 Words</OPTION> <OPTION value="project.html">1000+ Words</OPTION> </SELECT> <INPUT type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD"> <BR> <br> <INPUT type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!"><IMG alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"> </FORM> It works great if I select the fourth option with a internal url in it. But if I choose one of the other options it tries to dynamically change to a page "250", "500", or "1000" and they don't exist. Also, I'm not sure if changing the select name or the option value will break the transaction with paypal. What I'd like the form to do is nothing on all options except the fourth; which is a redirect. The first, second, and third option require the used to click a paypal buy now button. Can't I just take this... Code: onchange="window.location.href= this.form.URL.options[this.form.URL.selectedIndex].value" ...put it in the option tag and change it to onSelect or something? This is as far as I can go. I copied the code and altered it. Can anyone here help please? Hi all, I have just joined this forum hoping for some help on a problem i am having, i have a feeling the solution is simple but im a noob at JAVA so i have no idea how to work it out. The site is.... http://inspirecalendar.net/html/purchase.html The problem is the following.... When you select US (West Coast) as your location it doesn't update the price on the right properly. If you select it first it just won't display anything. if you select it after choosing another one and hitting continue then it doesn't change. Any help would be appreciated, hope i explain the problem properly if you have any questions feel free to ask... Thnks in advance :Smiley Hi, I'm newer than a newbie. I wrote a website in html, which has an ecommerce that sends the purchase to paypal. My client wants to offer a coupon. I found code in javascript that validates the coupon, but I want to be able to tell PayPal the discounted amount as this discount will not apply to all customers. PayPal Merchant Services told me that I can not use a variable in the following line: <input name="amount" type="hidden" value="132" /> Is there a way I can use Javascript to do the following? At this time, this code doesn't give me an error, but it doesn't send the amount to PayPal either. <script language="javascript">function validate(text1,text2) { if (text1 == text2) { document.write('<input name="amount" type="hidden" value="0" />') } if (text1 !== text2) { document.write('<input name="amount" type="hidden" value="125" />') }} </script> Thanks for any help. Hi, PanM here. Trying to build a website to help my cousin sell his beautiful art. I am using a free web page at weebly.com and they have an option to use either PayPal or Google Checkout to put in shipping costs and go to the cart checkout. However, haven't evaluated Google yet, but PayPal does not do what I want. You have to put in various shipping prices and then it doesn't relate to the state or country unless you select all states, or anyway that's how I see it. I have found one on the net that wants $5 per month, but I am trying to do this for free. UPS, FedEx, and USPS have API's that can probably work, but I would prefer a HTML file or Javascript file in the page on my site. Can anyone help with this problem? Please. Thanks, PanM Looking for an example of how to take the value typed in one textbox to be calculated and update the value of a second texbox on the fly. The calculation is, (2.9% X first textbox value) + $0.30 = second textbox value I can't get any info from Firebug except that one line, uncaught exception [object Object]. The code fully worked, then I needed to make it dynamically create Sortables from the scriptaculous library based on how many X were in a table in my database, which I've done, and I'm thinking it may be a simple slight parse error of some type, I'm not too good with Javascript, because now my script barely works. I've double checked the script's source code, the PHP variables are exactly what they should be. Code: print<<<HERE Sortable.create('sortlist$box', { tag: 'img', overlap:'horizontal',constraint:false, containment: $list, dropOnEmpty: true, onChange: function(item) { var list = Sortable.options(item).element; if(changeEffect) changeEffect.cancel(); changeEffect = new Effect.Highlight('changeNotification', {restoreColor:"transparent" }); }, onDrop: function(item) { var thing=Sortable.options(item).element.identify(); var anchors = document.getElementById(thing).childNodes.length-2; if(anchors > 20){ alert('This box had 20 creatures in it already, your last action has not been saved.'); window.location.reload(); } else{ new Ajax.Request("saveImageOrder.php", { method: "post", parameters: { data: Sortable.serialize("sortlist$box") } }); } } }); HERE; $box++; } ?> }); </script> if you solve this I'll send ya $10 via paypal Hello! I am trying to find a script that allows you to open multiple browser tabs and then close each of those tabs, either one by one or all at once. Does anyone know how to do this please? Thanks so much for your help. I want to have another go at Javascript. I have several books on the subject but I find that my eyesight is a major problem. Therefore I want to try an on-line solution, preferably free. I have Googled, but there are so many that I am almost dizzy with the choices. Perhaps someone could recommend one. Not too fussy visually. My knowledge is VERY basic. Frank Does anyone know how to make URL links that use Javascript still work when users have Javascript disabled on their browser? The only reason I'm using JS on a URL is because my link opens a PDF file, and I'm forcing it not to cache so users have the latest version. I tried the <script><noscript> tags, but I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly, as my URL completely disappears. Below is my HTML/Javascript code: <p class="download"> <script type="text/javascript">document.write("<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\" onclick=\"window.open( 'http://www.webchild.com.au/mediakit/Direct_Media_Kit_Web.pdf?nocache='+ Math.floor( Math.random()*11 ) );\" >The Child Magazines Media Kit</a></span> (PDF 1 MB) ");</script> <noscript><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://www.webchild.com.au/mediakit/Direct_Media_Kit_Web.pdf" >The Child Magazines Media Kit</a></span> (PDF 1 MB)</noscript> </p> Thanks for any help, Michael Hi, I have the following code snippet: test.html ====== <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> var testVariable = "test"; </script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="test.js"> </script> test.js ===== var testVariable = window.top.testVariable; In firefox, I'm able to access testvariable defined within test.html in test.js. But in chrome, test.js couldnot get the window.top.testVariable field defined in test.html. Can any one please let me know how i can make it work in chrome?. Am i missing something here?. Hi Guys, I am new at JavaScript and start to do some tutorials. What I am trying to do here is prompting user to input a name and if the name was valid the page(document) will display with all objects like the button. But if user enter a wrong name then the button will be disabled! Thanks I want to insert this js snippet Code: function addText(smiley) { document.getElementById('message').value += " " + smiley + " "; document.getElementById('message').focus(); return false; } to a loaded iframe with name&id chtifrm. I can access it & change embed something in its html via using something like: Code: $(parent.chtifrm.document.body).append('<div id=\"smly\" style=\"cursor:pointer;float:left;top:200px;display:none;position:absolute;\"><\/div>'); .... Code: parent.chtifrm.document.getElementById('chatbox_option_disco').style.display == 'none' but how do I insert js in the head of loaded iframe? Hi Guys I am trying to modify the functionality of my page. I want to be able to activate this piece of code using another javascript function. What I want is that the Javascript could "add" the "$exploded[0]" variable so that the picture can be loaded from different directory. Anyone can do this? I believe that the fix should be somewhere on input tag inside OnClick, or do you know where? Anyway, I found this on the net http://p2p.wrox.com/php-faqs/11606-q...avascript.html Please help me to those who can... All -- I have a JavaScript config file called gameSetting.js which contains a bunch of variables which configures a particular game. I also have a shared JavaScript library which uses the variables in gameSetting.js, which I include like so: <script type="text/javascript" src="gameSetting.js" ></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="gameLibrary.js" ></script> In gameSetting.js I have: $(document).ready(function() { // call some functions / classes in gameLibrary.js } in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, this works fine. However, in IE, when it's parsing gameSetting.js, it complains that the functions that live in gameLibrary.js aren't defined. When it gets to parsing gameLibrary.js, the variables in gameSetting.js are reported as not being defined. I've tried dynamically bootstrapping the gameLibrary file using this function in document.ready for dynamic load... $.getScript("gameLibrary.js"); However, the same problem still happens in IE, where when it parses the files individually it's not taking into context the file/variables that came before, so it's not an out of load order problem. My options a 1) collapsing all the functions in gameLibrary.js and variables in gameSetting.js into one file. However, this is not practical because this is dealing with literally hundreds of games, and having a gameLibrary.js in ONE location for ONE update is what makes most logical sense. 2) figure out a way to get this to work where variables in file1 are accessible to file2 in IE (as it seems they are in other browsers). jQuery seems to be able to have multiple plugins that all refer to the based jQuery-1.3.2.js, so I know there is a way to get this to work. Help appreciated. Nero |
