JavaScript - Window.print() Not Printing Whole Page
Hey there,
I've scrollable screen. I'm having a print button on it and "window.print()" function is called on its onclick event. My problem is it only prints the "viewable" part of the screen, not the whole screen. P.S. I'm using IE7 and it must work for IE7 atleast (for rest I'm not bothered). Thanks in anticipation. But this prints the browser window - in graphic mode. Our employees print the form and include it with items they need our shipping department to ship for them. The form uses the following verification script to ensure the required fields have been populated before the screen prints. It works exactly as desired in Safari and Firefox. In Internet Explorer, however, the selections made in the drop down lists are reset to the default values on the printed form. Before you respond with, "don't use Internet Explorer," you have to understand that Internet Explorer is our only corporate approved web browser because it is the only browser supported by some of our other "mission critical" third party web apps and because it can be more rigorously controlled using Group Policies than Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, et al, can. I would like to create a print preview window that will display only the main content of the page that a person would really want to print. I found a script that didn't do that, but that I was able to adapt, somewhat. It doesn't fully work though and I can't get it any better. This works in IE8 and FF 3.6, but Chrome 16 prints the original content, not the printable content. UPDATE: I just discovered another problem with this script. In IE9, the parent page is printed along with the modal (the modal looks transparent), instead of just the modal. Hello all, We have a job management system which contains a form where our employees input job information. When the form is submitted it brings you to a page that looks almost identical to it. On this page, the input fields have been changes to the user's submitted text. When this page loads, so does the print dialog so the user can print it instantly. The problem is that since the form and the print page look the same, some of our employees (out of habit from our old system) hit ctrl+p and print the form before submitting it. Since there is a way to automatically bring up the print dialog, I was wondering if there is a way to disable it all together. This system is used only by our employees who all use the latest version of Firefox. The solution only needs to work for this browser. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you! I have a very simple page that has one iframe on it. What I would like to accomplish is having Javascript read the contents of the iframe and write it to the page. I have tried numerous coding samples found all over the web but nothing seems to work for me as I am a major Javascript noob. Hi I want to create a popup that is completely contained within the page (so i guess its not really a popup). I'm looking for something where if a button is clicked, a small box will come up in the current window and become the active window, while the original window is visible but not active. It's hard to explain, but its a popup that is contained in the same window. And when the user presses okay or cancel on the "popup" window. They return to where they were in the original window. I have created and opened a new window using Javascript and written to it with the document.write Command. When I click "View" and then "Page Source" (Firefox) to view the source of it, however, it displays a blank page. How can I get the source of a window I created? I can get the 'page loading detection' to work if I load the page in a sub-frame. But this is no good as some sites include frame-buster code which breaks my scraper and I cant get any of the framebuster-buster solutions to work. So instead I decided to look at loading the page in a separate tab. Does anyone know how to reliably detect when a page has finished loading in a tab please? I am using Firefox only and I dont mind if the solution requires some extension or greasemonkey script (I have already added the configuration/commands to allow access to pages from different domains). Many thanks, Paul I know next to nothing about javascript and I don't even know if this is possible. I need to target window.location.href to an iframe on a different page. So, right now, the piece of the code that redirects the browser looks like this: Code: window.location.href='http://www.somewhere.com/'; Works great, brings it up in the same browser window. So now I need to modify the code so it goes to a different page and brings that page up in a specified iframe. I hope this makes sense. I really need help. And if it is not possible, I just need to know to abandon all hope. Hi, I have some JavaScript that is being used to open a new window and display a PDF file. This is working fine apart from the title of the new window being open. I am using the window.open function and I have set the title of the page using the document.write function (see code below). Note: I have also tried adding - pdfWindow.document.title="Title"; - to the JavaScript, with no luck. Is there anything specific that is required for Chrome or am I just missing something?? Thanks in advance for any help! |
