JavaScript - Using Curvycorners Javascript But Doesn't Seem To Be Working...
hi guys and girls,
i'm cheating slightly here and using a combination of css3 and curvycorners.js to give rounded corners to some of my containers. The CSS3 is working fine on the relevant browsers such as FF and safari etc... However the javascript doesn't seem to be functional for IE6 :s I followed the instructions from the following site: http://woork.blogspot.com/2009/08/cs...y-browser.html So i've downloaded "curvycorners.js" and uploaded it. However, as you can see, if you test this page in IE6: http://www.pswebdesigns.co.uk/acaTrader/index.html The rounded corners do not show. You may see one set of rounded corners (the gradient box) ... this is just an image though. I've supplied the page so you can view the source & code there. However if you prefer I can place it here on request. thanks in advance for any help. Similar TutorialsThis one has me stumped, it seems that no matter what i do the indicator needle in this web app just won't move. The odd thing is, i'm able to verify that the function for the setTimeout is being called, but when i try to write some data to the TextArea, or even do a simple alert, ...that data is not written, nor is an alertbox activated. ...just for those wondering, this is a JavaScript implementation of the Micro Pk test (bell curve - obviously) from the RetroPk experiments website. Hi! I'm new to JavaScript and I've done some small adjustments to my clients site, but it won't show properly in IE (the shadowbox js at least.). I thought js was accepted in all newer browsers. Do you have a quick fix or idea on why it doesn't work? You can view source on my site, I use mootools, and shadowbox/corners and rightclick blocker. Is it generally a 'bad thing' to use js in webpages I want everyone to view in the same way? I tried the same effects with CSS but it's not supported in the same way corss-browser, unfortunately. The 'no selection' CSS class I have on the site is also not accepted in IE. It's very annoying! http://santinacrolla.ihaarr.com/p thank you in advance! Its working well in FF and chrome. you can test it there. http://www.internetindustryawards.co.nz/2010.html Its really urgent... I hope I have this post in the right place! Any help would be very much appreciated... I have a feature on my website that allows users to choose the website background (using alternate css sheets) and then uses an externally linked javascript file to store the background choice as a cookie so it is consistent throughout the website. This works perfectly locally (i.e. when previewing my website on my computer) but now it is uploaded to my host it doesn't appear to be working. (with the same browser) My javascript is he http://www. b r p - e n v .com/javascript/backgroundchange.js (with no spaces) The website that the javascript file is linked to is http://www. b r p - e n v .com (with no spaces) In the head I have: <script type="text/javascript" src="../javascript/backgroundchange.js"></script> ...then I have: <body onload="set_style_from_cookie()"> ...and for users to choose which background: <form> <input type="image" src="../images/white-background-thumb.jpg" onclick="switch_style('bg1');return false;" name="theme" value="White" id="bg1"> etc... </form> My problem is: The background reverts back to the default when moving to a different page. This would indicate that the background choice is not being saved in cookies. But this works locally! I have tried putting the javascript directly onto each page but I still had the same problem. I hope someone can help, I will be so grateful if I can get this to work. Many thanks indeed! i need help with this code why isnt it redirecting me to my other webpage heres the code
Code: <form name="loginform"> <label>User name</label> <input type="text" name="usr" placeholder="username"> <label>Password</label> <input type="password" name="pword" placeholder="password"> <input type="submit" value="Login" onSubmit="validateForm();" /> </form> <script> function validateForm() { var un = document.loginform.usr.value; var pw = document.loginform.pword.value; var username = "username"; var password = "password"; if ((un == username) && (pw == password)) { window.location = "main.html"; return false; } else { alert ("Login was unsuccessful, please check your username and password"); } } </script> Hi every one, i'm new in this forum and also quite new in coding i wrote some code to login and register with php, also using some function with javascript, everything worked fine also with chrome, but suddenly, without change of any code, chrome doesn't activate js functions while FF and IE do activate them. can anyone suggest what could be the reason? ---Edit: as suddenly as it stopped, now it working again. chrome works in mysterious ways... FF, Safari, Opera all execute this javascript code to refresh the page properly, but in IE version 8.0.6001.18904 the page doesn't seem to refresh on click of orange_refresh button. I have checked out a different version of IE8, don't recall exact version, but it did seem to work fine in that one, whatever version it was probably the latest now that I think of it. Check out code below any sug.'s could be helpful, though its probably a bug.. Code: <a href="javascript:document.location.reload();" onmouseover="window.status='Refresh'; return true" onmouseout="window.status='Page Refreshed'"><img src="image/orange_refresh.png" width="30" height="30" border="0" /></a> I'm new to the forum. It sort-of works on IE-8, however, the problem is that on IE-8, there is about 2 seconds where everything is shown on top of everything else in a mess. This is bad. The website is unusual in that it uses a menu to slide screens from right to left. This has implications. For instance, I need the menu to appear on all screens, so I use absolute positioning, and then use javascript to calculate the center position. The same goes for a logo image. And on top of that, some screens (which are really DIVs) have items positioned by absolute and relative positioning within them, and those positions are often calculated via javascript (and then set). On IE-8, the result is not good. I think what is happening is that the browser first shows everything as it appears before javascript is run, and then slowly the javascript is run, which puts everything in the correct position. So initially, not only is everything in the wrong position, but different DIVs appear on top of each other. I could tell every user to get IE-9 or chrome, but thats not a good solution. Thanks, Gid P.S. one solution might be to make the screen go black for an instant, until everything has settled down. If thats the only solution, how would I do that? P.P.S. there are actually 3 pages in the site: the login page, the logout page, and the founders page. Everytime the user switches between them, the jumble for 2 seconds occurs. Hi there, I hope I post this in the right section. I'm trying to do a redirect using the below code: <script type="text/javascript"> window.location.href = "http://google.com" </script> FF and IE work as they should. Chrome doesn't. The request above to http://google.com, gets a 'canceled' status in Chrome browser > Development tools > "Network". I've tried several other functions: location.href = url location.replace(url) document.location = url location.assign(url) window.open(url, '_self') Same code pasted within a local html file works fine. Below is the redirect request that it's canceled by chrome: http://pastebin.com/hD36M1RG Any clues? Thanks Hi, I'm faced with a problem trying to set background color under IE7. I have the following Javascript: Code: function showLayer793BKColor(id) { var txtObj = document.all(id); if (txtObj.style.display == 'none') { txtObj.style.display = '' txtObj.style.backgroundColor = 'grey'; } } function hideLayer793BKColor(id) { var txtObj = document.all(id); if ( txtObj.style.backgroundColor == 'grey' ) txtObj.style.display = 'none'; } These functions are used to show or hide div blocks. These blocks are, for example, specified in the following way: Code: <div id="l_gct5tekst" style="display:none"> <b>GCT 5. Eerste verkenning problematiek</b> and, for example, Code: <div id="l_Keuze" style="display:none"> <br/> <b>GCT 5</b> <br/> </div> The whole configuration works smoothly when using IE8. However, when using IE7 I get an error msg like "Invalid value for property". When I use the Color propert iso the BackgroundColor property I get no error anymore but of course I don't have a background color anymore then. In what way can I specify the use of a background color under IE7 ? Or is just not possible in one way or the other. Furthermore, what more differences between JS under IE7 and IE8 do I have to take into account ? Do I also have to rewrite my div block in some way (using some attribs ?) to cope with IE7 ? Thanks in advance, Diederick van Elst I write javascript for image slide show.
