JavaScript - Javacsript Drop Down List From Java Servlet!!
Hi, i am currently working on aptana studio nokia wrt to create a widget.
for my project, i've used a java servlet to connect to the database (ms sql server 2005) to retrieve data from the database. And in aptana studio, i am using javascript to connect to the servlet. I am able to display and process the data retrieved by the servlet. now i need to put the retrieved data into a drop down list for users to select. is there anyway i could do it in a .js file? thanks alot!!! regards, leesyy Similar TutorialsHi all, I have been struggling on a bit of code for a while now. It's probably obvious to you guys!! Thanks in advance for your help. Good day, I am looking for the easiest / simplest way to do a basic URL hit using javascript. I have a URL like this: http://myServer:8088/MyApplication/R...&session=test1 I need to hit this RPC servlet on my server and invoke the sessionStart function to get my application in a 'ready state' to handle other interactions... or reset the current state back to default. I really do not care about the response data returned from the server... As long as the servlet is reached, thats good enough. I am not executing my code inside a webBrowser, so spawning a window with the URL is not an option. From what I see, jQuery looks like the best option... Can anyone provide a basic example of how I can do this? Or provide input on the 'best' way to do this... if jQuery is not the way to go.. Hi All, I am really stumped. I am not sure why it's not working. Basically, selecting a country will pre-populate the state field for both billing and shipping sections. Please help! The three drop downs would be: Degree Type (certificate, associate's, bachelor's, etc) Category (Arts & Humanities, Automotive, Computers & IT etc.) Program (Desktop Publishing, Automotive Technician Training, Network Systems, etc.) The Category list needs to be dependent on the degree type and the Program list needs to be dependent on the Category list. I need to have values that will submit to my form but ONLY for the Program List. I am trying to create a page with a dropdown list where the user selects the state. A drop down list below that can have the specific schools to that state to choose from. Now I need a way for the user to click on a school and then be taken to a page that has website URL's from all the fraternities in that school. Do I need php and mysql? I don't want to create a million pages unless I have to. What is the easiest way to do this. Maybe some kind of central form things where it outputs the fraternity you want at a particular school and state. The code basically uses radio buttons to populate results to a drop-down list depending on the radio button they choose. I'm having trouble figuring out where and how to add the redirection url for each of the value choices in the drop down. I was told something about using window.location('http://url.here') and then to populate the location parameter with the array value. I've created a java servlet in eclipse to connect and execute query to the database. In aptana, i'm using js file and html file. i am able to connect to the servlet, process the data (split it) and store in an array to display the retrieved data on screen. Hi, I doing my project in Netbeans, and I have this .java page, that sets and gets a html form where there are textboxes and drop down lists, as far as I know, although getElementById() is a javascript code, it can be used in my .java page, but I do not know how to implement it. What I'm supposed to do is to get the values from the drop down list and save them to a database that I've already have. This won't work in any other browser so far as I can tell, although they all support onmouseover in the option element. Nothing at all happens.
