[CODE] <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>To Do List</title> <script type="text/javascript"> /* <![CDATA[ */ function addTask() { if (document.forms[0].newtask.value == "") window.alert("You must enter a value in the New Task field."); else { if (document.forms[0].tasks.options.value == "tasks") document.forms[0].tasks.options[0] = null; var newTask = new Option(); newTask.value = document.forms[0].newtask.value; newTask.text = document.forms[0].newtask.value; var numTasks = document.forms[0].tasks.options.length; document.forms[0].tasks.options[numTasks] = newTask; document.forms[0].newtask.value = ""; } } function deleteTask() { var selectedTask = 0; var taskSelected = false; while (selectedTask < document.forms[0].tasks.length) { if (document.forms[0].tasks.options[selectedTask].selected == true) { taskSelected = true; break; } ++selectedTask; } if (taskSelected == true) document.forms[0].tasks.options[selectedTasks] = null; else window.alert("You must select a task in the list."); } function ascendingSort() { var newTasks = new Array(); for (var i =0; i < document.forms[0].tasks.length; ++i) { newTasks[i] = document.forms[0].tasks.options[i].value; } newTasks.sort(); for (var j =0; j < document.forms[0].tasks.length; ++j) { document.forms[0].tasks.options[j].value = newTasks[j]; document.forms[0].tasks.options[j].text = newTasks[j]; } } /* ]]> */ </script> </head> <body> <h1>To Do List</h1> <form action=""> <p>New Task <input type="text" size="68" name="newtask" /></p> <p><input type="button" value="Add Task" onclick="addTask()" style="width: 150px" /> <input type="button" value="Delete Selected Task" onclick="deleteTask()" style="width: 150px" /> <input type="button" value="Delete All Tasks" onclick="document.forms[0].task.options.length = 0;" style="width: 150px" /><br /> <input type="button" value="Ascending Sort" onclick="ascendingSort()" style="width: 150px" /> </p> <p><select name="tasks" size="10" style="width: 500px"> <option value="tasks">Tasks</option></select></p> </form> </body> </html> [CODE] So I have made a website that you need a password to get into. This jsp has a form with an action attribute to one servlet. Please find below the code snippet. ---- Java script code --- function logoff() { document.forms["FormName"].rel="nofollow" target="_self"; alert('Submitting the form'); document.forms["FormName"].submit(); } --- HTML form code ----- <body onUnload='logOff()'> <form name ="FormName" method="POST" action='<%=sLogoutResponseURL %>'> Whenever the page gets unloaded always logoff function is getting called. I also get the alert message "Submitting the form". But my servrlet does not get invoked. My application supports logging in with the same user id more than once. Scenario it works: User logs in. Close the application. logoff function is called and servlet gets invoked. Scenario it does not work: User logs in one window. Open one more IE window and and open the application with same user id. this can be repeated. Now when i close the application logoff function is called for all of the window close. But servlet does not gets invoked all the time. Sometimes it stops calling servlet. I have searched over the net and found one solution. Below piece of code will make sure form gets always submitted. -------------------------Start ----------------- function fakeSubmit(event) { var target = event ? event.target : this; /* Fire a submit event */ var fakeEvent = $(target).fire("form:submit"); if (fakeEvent.stopped == false) { /* Call the real submit function */ this._submit(); } } if(window.HTMLElement){ /* DOM-compliant Browsers */ HTMLFormElement.prototype._submit = HTMLFormElement.prototype.submit; HTMLFormElement.prototype.submit = fakeSubmit; } else { /* IE does not expose it's HTMLElement object or its children Let the document load so all forms are accounted for */ document.observe("dom:loaded", function(){ for(var i = 0; i < document.forms.length; i ){ document.forms[i]._submit = document.forms[i].submit; document.forms[i].submit = fakeSubmit; } }); } -----------End ------------------ But this resulted in script error while loading the page "object does not support this method or property" at line where document.observe is there. Kindly help at the earliest. Thanks in advance Santosh Hello everybody I need your help in this problem At first, this is the code used HTML Code PHP Code: <input type="text" onfocus="fadeIn(this)" /><div class="box" style="opacity: 0.0"></div><br /> <input type="text" onfocus="fadeIn(this)" /><div class="box" style="opacity: 0.0"></div> JavaScript Code PHP Code: function fadeIn(elem){ element = elem.nextSibling; elemOpacity = element.style.opacity; element.innerHTML = elemOpacity; if (elemOpacity < 1.0) element.style.opacity = parseFloat(elemOpacity) + 0.1; timeIn = setTimeout(fadeIn, 100); } I have used the opacity property to make fading element like fadeIn() function in jquery , and i have used onfocus event to execute the code . Problem exists in setTimeout function, this function Does not work But the code works without this function What is the cause of the problem , Please help me I have a function to accept number and certain text only when "Enter" key is pressed. Code: function handleEnter(field, event){ var keyCode = event.keyCode ? event.keyCode : event.which ? event.which : event.charCode; var tmp_val = ""; if (keyCode == 13) { if(field.name=="number" && field.value.replace(/ /g,"").length>1){ field.value = field.value.replace(/ /g,""); field.value = field.value.toUpperCase(); tmp_val = field.value; if (isNaN(tmp_val) && tmp_val!="ABC") { field.value = ""; field.focus(); return false; } else { some codings here } } } } However, when I added a second condition, the code stops working Code: if (isNaN(tmp_val) && (tmp_val!="ABC" ||tmp_val!="DEF") ) Anyone pls help~ Tks~ I'm new to the forum. So hi everyone. The code below works fine on IE and FF but not on Google Chrome. Can someone tell me where I'm doing wrong? Thank you for your answers in advance. Im really looking forward much to hearing from you. You can preview the below code by pasting it to Frontpage, Dreamweaver and etc. Quote: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <script type="text/JavaScript"> <!-- function show(id) { if (document.getElementById(id).style.display == 'none') { document.getElementById(id).style.display = ''; } } //--> <!-- function hide(id) { document.getElementById(id).style.display = 'none'; } //--> </script> </head> <body> <div> <div> <table cellspacing="1" cols="3" border="0"> <tbody> <td><a onfocus="hide('tblB');hide('tblC');show('tblA');" href="#">A</a> <td><a onfocus="hide('tblA');hide('tblC');show('tblB');" href="#">B</a> <td><a onfocus="hide('tblB');hide('tblA');show('tblC');" href="#">C</a> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> <div> <table id="tblA" style="DISPLAY: none" cols="1" cellpadding="2"> <tbody> <tr valign="top" align="left"> <td> You select A, table tblA is shown </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> <div> <table id="tblB" style="DISPLAY: none" cols="1" cellpadding="2"> <tbody> <tr valign="top" align="left"> <td> You select B, table tblB is shown </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> <div> <table id="tblC" style="DISPLAY: none" cols="1" cellpadding="2"> <tbody> <tr valign="top" align="left"> <td> You select C, table tblC is shown </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> </div> </body> </html> I have a function which allows the number of buttons selected depending on the number selected from the drop down menu. Problem is that this code works in all of the major browsers except for Internet Explorer (No Suprise). For example if user chose the number 3 from the dropdown menu, then user can only select 3 buttons. Why is it not working in Internet explorer and what can be used to make it work in Internet Explorer? Below is javascript functions: Code: function getButtons() { document.getElementById("answerA").class="answerBtnsOff"; document.getElementById("answerA").setAttribute("class","answerBtnsOff"); document.getElementById("answerA").setAttribute("className","answerBtnsOff"); document.getElementById("answerB").class="answerBtnsOff"; document.getElementById("answerB").setAttribute("class","answerBtnsOff"); document.getElementById("answerB").setAttribute("className","answerBtnsOff"); document.getElementById("answerC").class="answerBtnsOff"; document.getElementById("answerC").setAttribute("class","answerBtnsOff"); document.getElementById("answerC").setAttribute("className","answerBtnsOff"); document.getElementById("answerD").class="answerBtnsOff"; document.getElementById("answerD").setAttribute("class","answerBtnsOff"); document.getElementById("answerD").setAttribute("className","answerBtnsOff"); document.getElementById("answerE").class="answerBtnsOff"; document.getElementById("answerE").setAttribute("class","answerBtnsOff"); document.getElementById("answerE").setAttribute("className","answerBtnsOff"); currenttotal=0; } function btnclick(btn) { if(document.getElementById("numberDropId").value=="") { alert('You must first select the number of answers you require from the drop down menu'); return false; } if (btn.class=="answerBtnsOn") { btn.class="answerBtnsOff"; btn.setAttribute("class","answerBtnsOff"); btn.setAttribute("className","answerBtnsOff"); currenttotal--; return false; } if(document.getElementById("numberDropId").value==currenttotal) { alert('You are not allowed beyond the limit of the number of answers you require, deselect other button'); return false; } if (btn.class=="answerBtnsOff") { btn.class="answerBtnsOn"; btn.setAttribute("class","answerBtnsOn"); btn.setAttribute("className","answerBtnsOn"); currenttotal++; return false; } } If you html code then this is below: Code: <form id="enter" action="<?php echo htmlentities($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']); ?>" method="post" onsubmit="return validateForm(this);" > <table id="middleDetails" border="1"> <tr> <td>Question:</td> <td rowspan="3"> <textarea rows="5" cols="40" name="questionText"></textarea> </td> <td>Option Type:</td> <td> <select name="optionDrop" onClick="getDropDown()"> <option value="">Please Select</option> <option value="abc">ABC</option> <option value="abcd">ABCD</option> <option value="abcde">ABCDE</option> <option value="trueorfalse">True or False</option> <option value="yesorno">Yes or No</option> </select> </td> <tr> <td colspan="2"></td> <td>Number of Answers:</td> <td> <span id="na">N/A</span> <select name="numberDrop" id="numberDropId" onChange="getButtons()"> <option value=""></option> <option value="1">1</option> <option value="2">2</option> <option value="3">3</option> <option value="4">4</option> </select> </td> </tr> </table> </form> |
