JavaScript - Editing A Html/js Based Game Interface. Help Needed!
Hi there,
we have quite a big and successful project going on. We're a bunch of hardcore hockey gaming people and we're editing a game that has its entire interface written in Javascript. The whole game has been completely rebuilt... graphics, sounds, etc. Also all menus have been changed and reconstructed and we have managed to add some really unique features (previously unseen in sports games). I have some really wild ideas for the interface but we're at a dead end because we don't really have anyone who has advanced JS skills. See our project here. If this forum has someone who's interested in hockey simulator & gaming and has JS skills and would like to develop this brilliant game with us, I would like to get in touch with him. Perhaps one of you kind people can help me figure out how to fix it. I have a grid set up for logic puzzle solving. The grid is made up of 3 rows of primary squares, each containing 16 sub-squares. The top row has 3 primary squares. the 2nd row has 2 primary squares. the 3rd row has 1 primary square. That gives a total of 96 sub-square, or grid coordinates. Each sub square has an image in it that can be altered by clicking the square. The image begins as a blank gif. With the first click, it becomes an X, with a second click, it becomes an O, and the third click returns it to blank. With me so far? Hope so! Now for the tricky part. So far, everything is working perfect, as long as I have a grid that is 3x3x4, or, 3 squares across the top, 2 squares in the middles, and 1 square on the bottom, with 16 sub-squares in each. Now, the problem is, I do not always need a 3x3x4, sometimes I will need a 3x3x5, or a 4x4x4, or a 4x4x5 grid. I have made all the grids, and given them all the right ID's for both the TD, the IMG, as well as the <input> tags. When I test out a 3x3x5 grid, the first 4 columns in each square work fine, the 5th will only change to an X once, and cannot be changed again. Similarly, the first 4 rows in each square work, but not the 5th, with the same problem. Again, I have made sure that each of my ID's are correct, so that isn't the issue. The only thing I can figure it would be is the javascript. For some reason, 1-0-0 through 1-0-3 (A1B1 to A1B4) work, but 1-0-4 (A1B5) nor 5-0-4 (which would be A5B5 grid coord). It makes no sense to me. If you could please look over the script and tell me if you can see why it's letting the original part of the grid to work, but not the additional parts I add? Thank you! Inside of here if you save as a .html and open it it will pull up the game a series of 5 boxes and 5 answers underneath, Currently those 5 answers correctly correlate with each box so you know what they are considering you don't have the .jpgs to display them. The one in bold is the "question" when you click on the one that correlates with the bold it should tell you Correct! 100. 100 being your score and if you get it wrong it will say sorry! and then take your score down to a 50 since you got 1 out of 2 wrong. The problem is when you get it wrong it also immediatly says Congrats! after you get it wrong So it will prompt a Sorry! alert and a Congrats! alert on the wrong answer. The second problem is after the user gets it right or wrong, I need it to re random the list of answers and images. Whilst keeping the score intact for up to 20 questions. Please help! Unfortunate my teacher is awful. We have already "covered" html and some css and done a bit of java such as creating a prompt and a super simple calculator. However, for the final I have to make a 2 player game with at least 30 spaces and dice (random number generator). I'w created a mini javascript game for my site where you click on red button as fastest as you can for 10 seonds to achieve as best as you can click numbers per second. And the end score is a variable which I send to a function which reads the array that contains ten best scores and write your score in same array if it's among 10 best. Now I want to make somehow to save that array on server so I could read it on page load to show a high score list, but I'm having trouble to write that array in any kind of data on server that I could read it again from same data. I am looking to build as basic as possible, a form that has 3 select dropdowns that have predetermined options. The user will select the first option and based on that option the second will populate and based on that, the third one will give the last option. Now, when the last one is selected, i need a div or a paragraph displaying information to be displayed. So here's the framework. Option 1 = fruit or vegitables of which fruit is selected is selected by the user Option 2 = Apples, Grapes, and pears of which apples is then selected Option 3 = Red, Green and Yellow of which Green is selected. Hi Guys, I need to put previous/next navigation button images on a lot of slides and was wondering if javascript could do the following: Firstly say my slides increment as: slide1.html slide2.html slide3.html slide4.html If i am on slide 3 I'd like javascript to identify previous button as slide2.html and next button as slide4.html and so on Some loop/array code that does if filename = slide3.html then set button left(left.lpg)) url to slide2.html and button right(right.jpg) url to slide4.html array[0] = slide1.html array[1] = slide2.html ... opening as _self i.e no pop up. The start and end times are all simple HTML select option dropdowns. I want that the first End time selection will be the next start time selection. Basically a simple dependency of the dropdown. My approach was that I want to solve this with JavaScript. It allows someone to pick a date in a form with this little calendar icon that pops up. However, I am trying to make certain days of the week not available.
