Hi all.

I'm trying stuff out for learning.

What I would like to do is display the first error
message in array ie 'required'

if its still wrong when validate again
I want message two to display ie 'still required'

but I can't work it out.

As expected, I always get the last message.

Can it be done as I would like or is it done another way?

I need help making new messages appearing at the top of the chatbox, not the bottom. Anyone know how to do that?

Also, how can I make it hold only X amount of messages then after X amount of messages it just removes the last one. Thanks

I had posted a previous forum for help and solved a problem. However, than the links lost their formatting in the browser. I kept going as I am doing a lesson out of a textbook and the links are fixed now, but my coded object is not showing up. There should be a calendar in the upper righthand corner.

The error console says that there is a missing parenthetical where I have the ! symbol. I don't see that. Also it says that calendarDay is not defined.

On twitter, when you change your avatar/background a small white box covering an inch of the top of the page appears. How can I do this?

I'm trying to make these two messages change every two seconds. I'm not sure if the setInterval needs to be outside of the function. Also, not sure about HTML action"". It's not working and I'm not sure where my mistakes are. Very frustrating. I know it's easy for some of you, please help!

What can I do to find out what the errors in the error console mean?

I believe what i am doing wrong is where i enter my variables and i dont know how to get an alert message to pop up using an if statement as well as getting the values for the distances to show up correctly

8. Now we will write some JavaScript to validate the input. We don’t want the user to be able to enter the same origin and destination city when they book a ticket. So we will use an if statement to check that. If they have entered the same origin and destination city then we will tell them that by using an alert statement and make them select again.
All of your code to validate the input code goes in between the single quotes of the onClick event in the Calculate Fare button.
Follow these steps:
a) Assign the value of the origin city to a variable called origin

I'm wanting to put a piece of code on my website that will display when our next meeting will be. We have 2 meetings per month. I'm thinking what I need to do is create a code that gets the current month, day of month, and year then combines it together somehow, and if that combination is in a certain range a particular statement, "Next meeting is MM, DD YY." or "Next meeting is today." is displayed.

If date is equal to or between 01012012 and 01112012, "Next meeting is January, 12 2012" is displayed.
If date is equal to 01122012, "Next meeting is today" is displayed.
If date is equal to or between 01132012 and 01252012, "Next meeting is January, 26 2012" is displayed.
If date is equal to 01262012, "Next meeting is today" is displayed.
...that kind of thing.

How would I combine the month, day of month, and year?
Would 48 if statements be what I need to do?

I am developing a messaging service between members of my site. I am developing this with asp.net mvc. When a user goes to the SendMessage view to send a message to another member, there is a dropdown list which presents the sender with all the members of the site, which he or she will pick as the recipient. However, i don't want it to be a dropdown, i want it to be a text box, where a user types in the first couple of letters of a name, and the dropdown appears then with only the members which have the same couple of letters. This is basically like every email system out there (facebook and gmail have it just like that). And after they chose one, they can select another one in the same textbox, just separated by a comma or something like that.

Basically, how do i achieve that in javascript? I'm not even sure what that functionality is called, that's why i had to explain it properly.
