JavaScript - Godaddy Domain Search Script Problem
Ok after much research I have created a script that will search godaddy for domains using javascript. Now the problem is that it doesn't open in a new window when you click search. How do I get the script to open the godaddy results in a new window? btw target="_blank" isn't working.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Tim CODE: Code: <form onsubmit="var loc='http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/registrar/search.asp?domainToCheck='+this.elements[0].value+'/';location.href=loc;return false" method="post" action="" target="_blank"> <input name="query" size="38" style="border: 1px solid rgb(126, 157, 185);" value="" type="text"> <input name="Submit2" value="Search" id="Submit2" type="submit"> </form> Similar TutorialsWhere can I get a script that looks up IP addresses and domain name just like http://cqcounter.com/whois/ I've seached everywhere without sucess. Thanks in advance. First, let me clarify. I'm still a JS noob, so feel free to dummy-proof your answers By my understanding, if I want to use a given JS on multiple pages, I need to call for that script in each page. If I understand correctly, it then downloads it, and the functionality is then available to that given page. Now, presuming that I've got that at least mostly correct, it seems like there should be a way to just download it once, and use it till the session is over. My thinking is to call for the heavy JS's on the welcome page after a succeful login, and then not have to slow down each and every page by calling for those same scripts. Is this common, or at least possible? Are there specific reasons to not do this? Thanks-a-bunch, ~ Mo Hi, I've been working on a company directory page where a listbox called "People" in a form called "people_form" contains 400 employee names. I made the box "multiple" just so I could have it big and easier to find names but I decided a search box would be really useful. I've looked up a few such search scripts but so far the two I've tried haven't worked. The latest one when it's installed on the page, nothing happens when you type characters into it (it's supposed to jump to an entry matching the first few letters). Although if I backspace then it selects EVERY name in the list Here's the current form with the input tag being the search box (oh the options are populated by java script): <form name="people_form"> <input type="text" id="realtxt" onkeyup="searchSel()"></input> <select onchange="display(this.value); return false;" multiple="multiple" id="People" name="People" style="border-style: none; height:198px; width:220px;"> <option value="">Loading</option> </select></form> And here's the actual search function in the head of the page in the script tags: function searchSel() { var input=document.getElementById('realtxt').value.toLowerCase(); var output=document.getElementById('People').options; for(var i=0;i<output.length;i++) { if(output[i].value.indexOf(input)==0){ output[i].selected=true; } if(document.forms[0].realtxt.value==''){ output[0].selected=true; } } } If you know of a script that will work properly I'd appreciate it. For convenience I'm looking for one that jumps to selections inside the listbox as opposed to one where you click a search button and get results somewhere else. Hi, I've been trying to find a script to "search this page", but most seem quite old and don't seem to be supported in modern browsers. I have no knowledge of JS, but wondered whether this could be adapted in any way Code: <!-- EXAMPLE FORM OF FIND-IN-PAGE SEARCH USING SUBMIT (ALLOWING 'ENTER/RETURN' KEY PRESS EVENT) --> <div ID= "findform"> <form name="form1" class="findform" onSubmit="search(document.form1, frametosearch); return false"><input type="text" name="findthis" size="15" title="Press 'ALT s' after clicking submit to repeatedly search page"> <input type="submit" value="Find in Page" ACCESSKEY="s"></form> </div> <script> <!-- Hide from old browsers /****************************************** * Find In Page Script -- Submitted/revised by Alan Koontz (alankoontz@REMOVETHISyahoo.com) * Visit Dynamic Drive (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/) for full source code * This notice must stay intact for use ******************************************/ // revised by Alan Koontz -- May 2003 var TRange = null; var dupeRange = null; var TestRange = null; var win = null; // SELECTED BROWSER SNIFFER COMPONENTS DOCUMENTED AT // http://www.mozilla.org/docs/web-developer/sniffer/browser_type.html var nom = navigator.appName.toLowerCase(); var agt = navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase(); var is_major = parseInt(navigator.appVersion); var is_minor = parseFloat(navigator.appVersion); var is_ie = (agt.indexOf("msie") != -1); var is_ie4up = (is_ie && (is_major >= 4)); var is_not_moz = (agt.indexOf('netscape')!=-1) var is_nav = (nom.indexOf('netscape')!=-1); var is_nav4 = (is_nav && (is_major == 4)); var is_mac = (agt.indexOf("mac")!=-1); var is_gecko = (agt.indexOf('gecko') != -1); var is_opera = (agt.indexOf("opera") != -1); // GECKO REVISION var is_rev=0 if (is_gecko) { temp = agt.split("rv:") is_rev = parseFloat(temp[1]) } // USE THE FOLLOWING VARIABLE TO CONFIGURE FRAMES TO SEARCH // (SELF OR CHILD FRAME) // If you want to search another frame, change from "self" to // the name of the target frame: // e.g., var frametosearch = 'main' //var frametosearch = 'main'; var frametosearch = self; function search(whichform, whichframe) { // TEST FOR IE5 FOR MAC (NO DOCUMENTATION) if (is_ie4up && is_mac) return; // TEST FOR NAV 6 (NO DOCUMENTATION) if (is_gecko && (is_rev <1)) return; // TEST FOR Opera (NO DOCUMENTATION) if (is_opera) return; // INITIALIZATIONS FOR FIND-IN-PAGE SEARCHES if(whichform.findthis.value!=null && whichform.findthis.value!='') { str = whichform.findthis.value; win = whichframe; var frameval=false; if(win!=self) { frameval=true; // this will enable Nav7 to search child frame win = parent.frames[whichframe]; } } else return; // i.e., no search string was entered var strFound; // NAVIGATOR 4 SPECIFIC CODE if(is_nav4 && (is_minor < 5)) { strFound=win.find(str); // case insensitive, forward search by default // There are 3 arguments available: // searchString: type string and it's the item to be searched // caseSensitive: boolean -- is search case sensitive? I have used the code a bunch of times before but always on a different server - never on goDaddy. It has always worked before but on goDaddy will only display the background and buttons of the gallery and not the images themselves. I have contacted goDaddy, who have very unhelpfully said that it should work but there seems to be a problem with the Javascript on a line that says: so.addVariable("content_path","img");. However - they cannot tell me why it doesnt work and suggested I hit these forums for answers. The code I am using in my FLASHGALLERY.HTML page is below. I have left the authors comments for ease of viewing: Code: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> var so = new SWFObject("flashgallery.swf", "gallery", "800", "600", "8"); // Location of SWF file. You can change gallery width and height here (using pixels or percents). so.addParam("quality", "high"); so.addParam("allowFullScreen", "true"); so.addParam("wmode", "transparent"); so.addVariable("content_path","img"); // Location of a folder with JPG and PNG files (relative to php script). so.addVariable("color_path","default.xml"); // Location of XML file with settings. so.addVariable("script_path","flashgallery.php"); // Location of PHP script. so.write("gallery"); </script> The part in BOLD is the line they reckon the problem is on. This works on every other server but not theirs apparently! The path goes to a file called "IMG" which has the images to be displayed inside. This is a very simple process on all my other websites! I have tried adding a / symbol before .....so ...... /img.... but no luck as well as a bunch of other stuff. The link to the gallery I am using is: http://www.library.ceu.hu/workshop/readme.html The link to one of my sites with this working: http://mrca.org.uk/final_gallery_roles.html The link to the non-working gallery: http://neverthelessmedia.com/flashgallery.html The gallery has a PHP file and a Javascript file backing it up. I will put the codes below just incase they help. I need a java script search engine for my site that I can manually enter keywords and direct the results to certain url locations. I thought I found one called JSE Search Engine and it works great in my adobe golive preview but when i upload the files the results dont show up. Very frustrating. Thought maybe someone might be familiar with it or at this point have a script to do what I need that is less of a headache. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hello, I'm working on putting a partial lexicon of a language online and want to install a search bar at the top. The search should function sort of as "ctrl+f" by only picking up the entries that match with the search item. However, unlike an actual ctrl+f search, I don't want the matches to be highlighted one by one as the user has to continuously press "next." Instead, as soon as the user presses "search," all of the entries on the lexicon should disappear except those that match with the search term. Further information: I've mostly been using HTML and CSS to build this lexicon. All of my entries are in individual div elements and have individual div class names. Can anyone help, or refer me to an existing tutorial? Thanks! In this case, Let's take Google Search as example: The code is JScript .NET, which is basically a .NET version of Javascript. Regardless of language, Anyone with appending type of skill can answer my question. This code is used in Fiddler(It's a Man-in-the-middle proxy) Code: if (oSession.uriContains("&q=")) // oSession is a Fiddler object session // uriContains() function, checks for case-insensitive string from the URI { var str = oSession.fullUrl; var sAppend = "test1+test2+test3"; if (!oSession.uriContains(sAppend)) { oSession.fullUrl = str.replace( "&q=","&q="+sAppend); } } For those who are confused, It says, If &q= is present in the URI, replace/append &q= with &q=test1+test2+test3 Problem: It appends test1+test2+test3 instantly, when it sees &q= in the URL. Basically, how do I make it wait until I click the submit/search button Thank you. Update: I heard about Onsubmit() event, but not really familiar with it. How do I use it? like, should I go to google source page and edit the form id? Also, Any other methods besides Onsubmit()? Hi experts, is it possible via Javascript to search certain websites with certain keywords without having to use specific search engines? example search only the following: 1. www.yyy.com 2. www.aaa.com 3. www.zzz.com for the keyword "Laminat" and open the sites accordingly. thx Hi Everyone! I have a website that I'm designing where I have the need to search multiple sites at specific times. By this I mean that In some cases, we would want to search only the internet using google, or only search the site that I've created (which currently uses the jse_search.js solution), or only our company's website. I currently have four different search boxes that will search either the internet, the internal site, a separate internal site, or a third-party website, which all working fine. The problem is that the search boxes take up quite a bit of space, and the layout is becoming cumbersome. Is there a way in Javascript I could use a single search box and a drop-down list to select which method to use? The code I'm currently using is below. With the exception of the Google search function, I've modified some of the site names to general site names and paths to preserve the company's anonymity: Code in the <head> tag: Code: <script language="JavaScript1.3" type="text/javascript" src="jse_form.js"> </script> Code in the <body> tag: Code: <!--Begin Internal Site Search 1!--> <div> <p style="text-align: center;"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr><td><form name="jse_Form" onsubmit="search_form(jse_Form);return false"> <input type="text" name="d" size="30"> </tr></td> <tr><td> <input type="button" value="Internal Site Search 1" onclick="search_form(jse_Form)"> </form> </tr></td> </table> <!--End Internal Site Search 1!--> <!--Begin Internal Site Search 2!--> <div> <p style="text-align: center;"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr><td> <!--webbot bot="Search" S-Index="all" S-Fields S-Text="Search for:" I-Size="20" S-Submit="Start Search" S-Clear="Reset" S-TimestampFormat="%m/%d/%Y" TAG="BODY" b-useindexserver="1" startspan --> <form action="http://sitesearch2.idq" method="POST"><input type="text" name="UserRestriction" size="30" value> </tr></td> <tr><td style="text-align: center;"> <input type="submit" value="Internal Site Search 2"></form> </form> <!--webbot bot="Search" i-checksum="4210" endspan --> </td></tr> </table> </div> <!--End Internal Site Search!--> <!--Begin Google Search!--> <form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search"> <div> <p style="text-align: center;"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr><td> <input type="text" name="q" size="30" maxlength="233" value="" /> </tr></td> <tr><td align="center"> <input type="submit" value="Google Search" /></td></tr> </table> </div> </form> <!--End Google Search!--> <!--Begin Third Party Search!--> <form id="keywordSearchForm" method="get" action="http://www.site3.html"> <div> <p style="text-align: center;"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr><td> <input class="input" type="text" name="keyword" size="30" /> </tr></td> <tr><td align="center"> <input type="hidden" name="origin" value="keywordsearch" /><input id="go" class="button" tabindex="0" type="submit" value="Third Party Search" /> </td></tr> </table> </div> </form> <!--End Third Party Site Search!--> Hi, I have an ajax script that I would like to use to retrieve a password hint from a database. Both the ajax script and the php retrieval script are stored on the same domain (we'll call it domain1.com), but the ajax script runs on another domain (domain2.com). All the scripts are working fine, individually, but when I try to integrate them, I'm getting a ready state of 4, but an HTTP status of 0. I've traced the code flow and the retrieval script is being called by the ajax script OK and it's echoing all the right stuff, but it's just not getting back to calling ajax routine. I've read that an ajax routine can only call a script that resides on the same domain that it runs on. Is this correct and, if so, does anyone know of a work around, because I really need to be able to store the ajax script on domain1 and run it on domain2? If not, then can anyone suggest why I'm getting an HTTP status of 0, when all the individual components are working fine? Debbie if I set a cookie for domain=.domain.com how do I read the cookie for domain=.domain.com, cause the javascript won't no that the cookie even exist? Been running a lot of test on this today, and can't find the right solution. confused:hope its the right place to post a newbie here . but i have a problem with a firefox accepting a script that i wrote it works on exploer but not on firefox onclick="javascript:if (this.parentNode.parentNode.nextSibling.style.display !='block') this.parentNode.parentNode.nextSibling.style.display ='block'; else this.parentNode.parentNode.nextSibling.style.display ='none';" hope u can help me thx Hi there, Im very new to all this and have only been working with scripts for a few days, so simple pointers would be greatly appriciated. My problem; I play an online strategy game where i can use scripts to help my game play. There is a quick bar at the top of the game screen which i can add scripts to. When editing the bar there are 3 options. 1. Name, 2. Image URL, 3. Target URL. The script i have written is entered into the Target URL. It works fine but i have to be on a certain page in the game to run the script because of how it gets the required info. At the minute i have two scripts doing what i would like one to do. The first script (that i wrote) and a second which just redirects me to the right page (which i have to click first). Can i get both tasks on to one script. What i would like the script to do is, upon clicking redirect me to the appropriate page the script needs to be run from, and then run the javascript function. My Script; ( which isnt finished but works fine for now) Code: JavaScript: var n = prompt("1.Plunder / Looting 2. OD 3.Archer 4.Axe ", "1");n = parseInt(n); if(n == 1) {var stringOne = (document.getElementsByTagName("img")[12].title);var stringTwo = (document.getElementsByTagName("img")[10].title);var stringThree = (document.getElementsByTagName("img")[25].title);var stringFour = (document.getElementsByTagName("img")[24].title);var stringFive = stringOne + " \n" + stringTwo + " \nToday " + stringThree + " \nToday " + stringFour + "";alert (stringFive );}; if(n == 2) {var stringSix = (document.getElementsByTagName("img")[15].title);var stringSeven = (document.getElementsByTagName("img")[22].title);var stringEight = (document.getElementsByTagName("img")[23].title);var stringNine = stringSix + " \nToday as attacker " + stringSeven + " \nToday as defender " + stringEight + "";alert (stringNine );}; To sum up. Basicly i want to be able to click the link to this script and have it redirect me to the right page and then run. So where would i put the page address and how do i make the script rum when the page is loaded. Dear friends I am trying to code this piece of wonderful fun there is some glitch with it though - the 'female occupation' always gets stuck on lady of leisure'. I cannot figure what the problem is - can anyone spot it? Thank yoo!! Beth xx //define sex var sex=Math.random(); if (sex>0.5) {document.write(". You were male. ");} else {document.write(".
