JavaScript - How Do You Make Iframe Tabs In Aptabs?
I'm using ApTabs. My problem is long pageload times because I have IFrames as DIV content. How can I make "IFrame Tabs" so pages load when tabs are click instead of preloading?
Similar TutorialsHello all, From what I've seen there isn't really a solution to this problem, but I thought I'd try my luck. I'm trying to code a website that's built around an iframe (as in, the nav bar links to content which appears in a central iframe). Now, in one of my pages I've got links that are supposed to open a small text block when they're clicked. I've figured out how to do this using either divs or the DHTML window widget (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...ndow/index.htm), but in both cases the tab appears inside the iframe, and it's pretty cramped. I want to position it relative to the parent window, not the iframe, but so far haven't been able to figure out how to do this. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks! i need the tab script to be horisontal and vertical both 100% of the browser screen, no mater what are the user screen resolutions are if i change the width and height to 100% it wont work Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>apTabs</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="lib/prototype.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="src/aptabs.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/aptabs.css" /> </head> <body> <div id="apTabs" class="apTabs" style="width:500px; height:200px "> <h2>Tab 1</h2> <div>Tab content 1. I would like to make the iframe content refresh just once, not matter how many times the link is clicked... Right now, I have this in the head: Quote: <script type="text/javascript"> function refreshIframe(el) { var f = document.getElementById(el) var rsrc = f.src f.src="about:blank" f.src=rsrc } </script> And this is the link which, when clicked, refreshes the iframe every time it is clicked: Quote: <a href="#page_7c" onclick="refreshIframe('test'); return false"> "test" is the id of the iframe. I am sure how to do this is really simple, but it escapes me... Many thanks! Hello I have several issues with my multilevel drop down menu The First issue is : the page has 2 iframes (one has the horizontal multilevel drop down menu on the top) the below iframe has my site address Now, when i hover over the menu it does not open or expand but when i open just the menu without any iframes it does This clearly means that the menu is not coming out of the iframe Please help me bring it on top of everything of the page Note: i have placed the menu in one iframe and a page opens below it in another iframe. The Second issue is : I want the navigation bar that is the multilevel drop down menu to be editable Which means i have a blog and a forum on my site but my visitor wants that the blog should not appear there and another link to play games should be there and hence he/she can edit it And please also try to make it work on cookies so that the user info and preferences are saved in cookies and whenever he/she comes back they see the page their way. For you: I would like to tell you that IdeaLab has launched a Twitter Advertising, Widget and Search platform and the first 1000 people are getting $100 go to tweetup.com Please help me, it will be really appreciable. Thank you very much in advance! Hey guys, No clue what the code is for this. I did try creating one but it dramaticly failed. Hi there everybody, I've got this problem which I can't solve myself... I've got a website which has 3 colums and is hosted on domain1.com. in the right column I've got an Iframe which loads content from domain2.com . this content are some textboxes and a datepicker tool. if I press the 'search'-button in this Iframe I would like to refresh the mainpage (from domain1.com) so that another Iframe appears in the middle column. in this column i would like to load a new form from domain2.com which contains the values that I've put in in the form from the right Iframe. Unfortunally I can't get this to work... Will somebody please help me? Hi all, I hope you can help I have some code which: 1) Opens a URL (e.g. google.com) in a hidden iframe, then 2) Redirects the visitor to a different URL (e.g. yahoo.com) after it has loaded... This works exactly as I need. What I'd like to do is the following: 1) Open a URL (e.g. google.com) in a hidden iframe, then 2) Redirect the visitor to a different URL (e.g. yahoo.com) in a full-screen iframe 3) The address bar of the full-screen iframe should be my domain (obviously!) Here's what I have so far... Hidden iframe -> New URL Code: Code: <html> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> var page_body = document.getElementsByTagName('body'); var myframe = document.createElement('iframe'); var id = Math.random(); myframe.setAttribute('id', 'myFrame'+id); myframe.src = 'http://google.com'; //First open Google in hidden iframe myframe.setAttribute('frameborder', '0') myframe.setAttribute('width', '0'); myframe.setAttribute('height', '0'); if (myframe.attachEvent) { myframe.attachEvent('onload', function() { top.location = 'http://yahoo.com'; //Once loaded redirect to Yahoo -- but the address bar shows yahoo.com -- I want the address bar to display mydomain.com/page.html }); } else if (myframe.addEventListener) { myframe.addEventListener('load', function() { top.location = ('http://yahoo.com'); }, false); } page_body[0].appendChild(myframe); </script> </body> </html> I have an example of some code which displays the full screen iframe, but my problem is... ...I can't figure out how to redirect to this after the hidden iframe has loaded Here's an example of how I want the redirect to display -- after the initial hidden iframe has loaded: Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function sendParams() { document.body.style.overflow = "hidden"; } </script> </head> <body> <!--Open Yahoo.com in a full screen iframe, and disable extra scrollbar --> <iframe height="100%" width="100%" frameBorder="no" onload="sendParams()" src="http://yahoo.com"></iframe> </body> </html> I've been beating my head against the wall today trying to figure this out, and I'm fresh out of ideas. If you can help, you'll have some serious gratitude and good karma thrown your way! Best wishes, and thanks in advance, Paul Is there a way to resize an iframe dynamically so that you never get the scroll bar and essentially hide that there is an iframe? Better integration really. Basically I want to iframe a forum into my site so that the design down the sides and top which my friend does using iweb are not messed with. We have a central area which can be longer or shorter depending on the forum. I am having a problem with a page I am building using jquery tabs. I have basically put a set of tabs within another set. The top level of tab navigation works fine, but then you click on the tabs navigation within the first tab it doesnt work. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14080718/Final/TabsInTabs.html I cant get it to work and not sure why. I am still learning web design and I am not sure if this is a html/css or jquery problem. I would appreciate any help anyone wants to give. Dear friends, I use this script wich works fine in FF, Opera and Chrome but not in IE! Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function DoAllThese() { window.open('http://google.com', 'One','_blank'); window.open('http://www.yahoo.com','Two','_blank'); } </script> Code: <button onClick="DoAllThese();">Open</button> Is it possible to do it in IE? I have used iframes for my site and found various javascripts so when a person clicks on say the audio page he http://www.krillmeed.com/index.html it takes them to the audio page but will load it into the index.html page. The problem is, especially with search engines, to point to that page, this is what the URL looks like to send someone to that page: http://www.krillmeed.com/?frame=0&sr...m%2Faudio.html which is not very clean at all, this is the javascript that i found that at least works: Child iframe script: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> (function(){ var qstr = '?frame=0&src=' + encodeURIComponent(location.href), lre = new RegExp('^' + location.protocol + '//' + location.hostname + '(()|(/)|(/index.html)|(/index.php))(()|(\\' + qstr + '))$'); if (!lre.test(parent.location.href)){ top.location.href = '/' + qstr; } })(); </script> Parent iframe Script: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> (function(){ function getQval(n) { if(typeof n !== 'string'){ return null; } var r = new RegExp('[?&;]' + n + '=([^&;#]*)'), m = location.search; return (m = r.exec(m))? unescape(m[1]) : null; } var f = getQval('frame'), s = getQval('src'); if(f && frames[f] && s && s.indexOf(location.protocol + '//' + location.hostname + '/') === 0){ frames[f].location.href = s; } })(); </script> Is there a "cleaner" way of doing this? This was an old code, i have yet to find a more modern one. Thank you in advance. I am having some problems with some JS code that does not work cross browsers Here is my code Code: <html> <head> <link rel="STYLESHEET" type="text/css" href="../../include/css/tab.css"> <script src="../../include/js/tabpane.js" type="text/javascript"></script> </head> <body> <div name="objBody"> <div id="tabpane"> <div> <h2>Contact</h2> <div> <br>THIS IS CONTACTS TEXT </div> </div> <div> <h2>Contact2</h2> <div> <br>THIS IS CONTACTS TEXT2222 </div> </div> </div> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> var tp = new TabPane(document.getElementById("tabpane")); </script> </body> </html> CSS Code: .tab_pane_holder { width: 100%; background-color: #336699; font-family: verdana; font-size: 8pt; border-right: 1px solid black; border-left: 1px solid black; border-top: 1px solid black; } .tab_normal { border-right: 1px solid black; border-left: 1px solid white; border-bottom: 1px solid black; border-top: 1px solid white; padding: 5px; background-color: #5a7edc; text-align: center; /*width: 100px;*/ height: 10px; color: white; } .tab_active { border-right: 1px solid black; border-left: 1px solid black; border-top: 1px solid black; background-color: white; padding: 5px; text-align: center; /*width: 100px;*/ height: 10px; color: black; } .tab_after_active { border-right: 1px solid black; border-left: 0px solid black; border-top: 1px solid white; border-bottom: 1px solid black; background-color: #5a7edc; padding: 5px; text-align: center; /*width: 100px;*/ height: 10px; color: white; } .tab_before_active { border-left: 1px solid white; border-bottom: 1px solid black; background-color: #5a7edc; border-top: 1px solid white; text-align: center; padding: 5px; /*width: 100px;*/ height: 10px; color: white; } JS Code: function TabPane(el) { var tmp = this; this.element = el; this.tabs = new Array(); this.divs = new Array(); this.selected = null; for(var i = 0; i < el.childNodes.length; i++) { this.tabs[i] = this.element.childNodes[i].childNodes[0].innerHTML; } for(var i = 0; i < this.element.childNodes.length; i++) { this.divs[i] = this.element.childNodes[i]; } for(var i = 0; i < this.element.childNodes.length; i++) { this.element.childNodes[i].removeChild(this.element.childNodes[i].childNodes[0]); } this.tabPane = document.createElement("div"); this.element.insertBefore(this.tabPane,this.element.childNodes[0]); this.tabPane.className = "tab_pane_holder"; for(var i = 0; i < this.tabs.length; i++) { var x = this.tabs[i]; this.tabs[i] = document.createElement("span"); this.tabPane.appendChild(this.tabs[i]); this.tabs[i].innerHTML = x; this.tabs[i].className = "tab_normal"; this.tabs[i].style.cursor = "hand"; this.tabs[i].onselectstart = function() { return false; } this.tabs[i].onclick = function() { tmp.showPage(this); } } for(var i = 0; i < this.divs.length; i++) { this.divs[i].style.display = "none"; this.divs[i].style.width = this.element.style.width; this.divs[i].style.height = this.element.style.height; this.divs[i].style.overflow = "auto"; this.divs[i].style.borderRight = "1px solid black"; this.divs[i].style.borderBottom = "1px solid black"; this.divs[i].style.borderLeft = "1px solid black"; } this.showPage = function(el) { var x,y; for(var i = 0; i < this.tabs.length; i++) { if(el == this.tabs[i]) { x = i; } } y = ((x-1) < 0)?0:(x-1); for(var i = 0; i < this.tabs.length; i++) { this.tabs[i].className = "tab_normal"; } this.tabs[y].className = (y == x)?"tab_active":"tab_before_active"; if(this.tabs[y+1]) { this.tabs[y+1].className = (y == x)?"tab_after_active":"tab_active"; } if(this.tabs[y+2]) { this.tabs[y+2].className = (y == x)?this.tabs[y+2].className:"tab_after_active"; } if(x == 0) { this.tabs[x].style.borderLeft = "0px solid black"; } for(var i = 0; i < this.divs.length; i++) { var show = (i == x)?"block":"none"; this.divs[i].style.display = show; } } this.showPage(this.tabs[0]) } Hello, It is my first post here so hello everybody I am currently building a website and it is the first time I have experimented with ajax, jquery etc etc so forgive me if I come across as a bit of novice in all this but ......... I am. lol I have a column of links that use ajax to load content into the adjacent DIV, and I have used the loadobs function to load the JS and CSS files along with the external file. Now within the external file I have used javascript to create a 3 tab section; when you first load the page it is fine BUT if you navigate away from the page and then try going back and loading the same external page then the tabs stop working and all the content of the tabbed sections stack ontop of one another as though the javacript isnt working? I am completely new to javascript but I think it is fabulous and I am keen to learn the ins and outs and would be really greatful if someone who knows what they are doing could point me in the direction of where I am going wrong or maybe what part of the code could be causing the error. It is a work in progress but the page I am having the problems on can be found at http://www.hm-designs.co.uk/crossland/solo.php if you click on the top link in the left hand column called Tara - Female vocalist you will be able to see where the tabs are. Thank you in advance if anyone may be able to help me Kind Regards, Helen I am using a script I found and trying to make some changes. It is a avatar creating script that will put a face together. The tabs are different parts of the face. The problem is I don't want all the different hair colors and styles to show and in the color tab when you click a color it will bring up the hair styles in that color only in the next tab. I have tried if(isset($_GET['color'])) { but this is only showing the first color style cant it to work. So then tried to use switch like this PHP Code: <p> <span name="color"> <img src="herotmb/color0.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[color]" type="radio" value="black" id="black" onclick="swapImage(this);" /> <img src="herotmb/color1.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[color]" type="radio" value="brown" id="brown" onclick="swapImage(this);" /> <img src="herotmb/color2.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[color]" type="radio" value="darkbrown" id="darkbrown" onclick="swapImage(this);" /> <img src="herotmb/color3.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[color]" type="radio" value="yellow" id="red" onclick="swapImage(this);" /> <img src="herotmb/color4.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[color]" type="radio" value="red" id="yellow" onclick="swapImage(this);" /> </span> </p> <?php switch(id){ case 'BLACK': echo ' <p> <img src="heroimg/hair0-black.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair0-black" /> <img src="herotmb/hair1-black.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair1-black" /> <img src="herotmb/hair2-black.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair2-black" /> <img src="herotmb/hair3-black.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair3-black" /> <img src="herotmb/hair4-black.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair4-black" /> <img src="herotmb/hairNone-black.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hairNone" /> </p>'; break; case 'BROWN': echo ' <p> <img src="herotmb/hair0-brown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair0-brown" /> <img src="herotmb/hair1-brown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair1-brown" /> <img src="herotmb/hair2-brown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair2-brown" /> <img src="herotmb/hair3-brown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair3-brown" /> <img src="herotmb/hair4-brown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair4-brown" /> <img src="herotmb/hairNone-brown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hairNone" /> </p>'; break; case 'DARKBROWN': echo ' <p> <img src="herotmb/hair0-darkbrown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair0-darkbrown" /> <img src="herotmb/hair1-darkbrown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair1-darkbrown" /> <img src="herotmb/hair2-darkbrown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair2-darkbrown" /> <img src="herotmb/hair3-darkbrown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair3-darkbrown" /> <img src="herotmb/hair4-darkbrown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair4-darkbrown" /> <img src="herotmb/hairNone-darkbrown.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hairNone" /> </p>'; break; case 'RED': echo ' <p> <img src="herotmb/hair0-red.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair0-red" /> <img src="herotmb/hair1-red.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair1-red" /> <img src="herotmb/hair2-red.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair2-red" /> <img src="herotmb/hair3-red.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair3-red" /> <img src="herotmb/hair4-red.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair4-red" /> <img src="herotmb/hairNone-red.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hairNone" /> </p>'; break; case 'YELLOW': echo ' <p> <img src="herotmb/hair0-yellow.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair0-yellow" /> <img src="herotmb/hair1-yellow.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair1-yellow" /> <img src="herotmb/hair2-yellow.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair2-yellow" /> <img src="herotmb/hair3-yellow.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair3-yellow" /> <img src="herotmb/hair4-yellow.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hair4-yellow" /> <img src="herotmb/hairNone-yellow.png" alt="" /><input name="avatar[hair]" type="radio" value="hairNone" /> </p>'; } ?> nothing shows up.
