JavaScript - Js Code With Functions Display Problems
I was having some problems getting my function to only perform when I click the shoot button. Right now I have it where if you click the buttons and it plays the whole game. I was wondering if there is some way to maybe hide it and then just print the results only when I press the shoot button.
I posted my game here its the front page. http://mmoloot4u.com/ I am trying to find out so things so far i thought about doing this, but im not sure the best way. Could i remove assignments from document.getElementByIf('whatever').value from the onclick code for rock, paper, and scissors. Instead define corresponding variables in your <script> area and assign to those variables. Then in 'shoot' you can assign those variables to the corresponding element values? How can I make it clicked once and the function runs? Hi, I have my page here. There is a tab system on the page that uses javascript. View the source the see the javascript file (tabber9.compressed.js). Now, on my end, I am adding some tracking code. The code looks like this: Code: <SCRIPT TYPE='text/javascript' LANGUAGE='JavaScript'><!-- // window.onload = initPage; function initPage() { if (this.GetCustomerGUID) document.forms["Test"].elements["CustomerGUID"].value = GetCustomerGUID(); } //--></SCRIPT> The problem is, when I add this code to my footer, it breaks the tab system. The tabs don't work any more. I am not a JavaScript expert by any means (or else I would have known what the issue is! lol) but, I guess it has something to do with the window.onload function? I say that because I see the window.onload code in the tabber javascript as well. Any advice or help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help! However in IE it only works properly in the .aspx pages. There are a series of links so when you click it hides the div's which are set to display:"block", except for one "div" which won't change to display"none" and I don't know why. Hi, I am just a noob and this is my first go at javascript and html I am trying to figure out how to display info from an array in the <textarea>, I have tried a number of things nothings worked and I know it must be something simply but have tried a number of things I also have to clear the <textarea> after it displays the info mentioned above and I think I have that sorted but I also have to have the <textarea> display all signup info stored in the array when a user clicks on a button Here's the code Code: function show() { var myArray = new Array(); myArray[0] = document.getElementById('fullname').value; myArray[1] = document.getElementById('Address').value; myArray[2] = document.getElementById('Phone').value; document.writeln('Thank you for signingup,' + ' ' + myArray[0] + '. Your details will be confirmed by E-mail to ' + myArray[2] ); document.writeln("<br>") document.writeln('Details:') document.writeln("<br>") for (var i=0; i<myArray.length; i++) {document.write(myArray[i] + "<br />"); } } Thanks Evening all, I am new here and seeking some helping modifying this existing code that I found so that it will allow me to run 3 scrollers within the same page. I have tried to rename the variables and other elements within the script but still no luck.... Thanks This may seem like a very noob-like question but I just can't figure it out! I am new to Javascript and I was playing around with if...else.. statements. I made this little code to see if I can make a password activated code. In this case I just want it to open an alert window if the right password is put in. I have tried running this in Chrome, IE and Firefox and none of them worked. Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var n1=prompt("Please enter the correct password."); if (n1=1147) { alert("Congrats! You guessed the right password!"); } else { alert("I am sorry"n1" is not the correct password. Please try again"); } </script> Hello, new to the forums so I don't know really where I should post this. Working with google spreadsheets and google script here if that makes any difference. I want a cell to print the letter O x number of times based on the value of a different cell? For example; If A1 is 3, i want B2 to print O O O. Just as A1 is 5 i want B2 to print O O O O O. I have this bit of code so far and think I could run this as a script, but i keep getting an error "Missing ; after for-loop initializer. (#2) (line 2)" Code: function Dot() { for (i < CellValue) { myOutputString = myOutPutString + "O "; } TargetCell.Formula=myOutputString; } Thank you for any help you can provide....and if there is a better place for this sort of stuff, please let me know. I have two problems with this simple survey that I am trying to write: 1. When I have the "<textarea>" code lines in it put a text-area on the page, but it puts all of the code following that first text-area line into the text-area box and doesn't execute that segment of code. 2. When there is no "<textarea>" (for the sake of seeing if the rest of it worked) it doesn't check the survey. I would like to include all of these functions within the wrapper of another function so that only one call is needed to get returns from all of the 'inner' functions. However, while each of the functions works in isolation, the moment I wrap them in another function they stop working. The following code is one of the functions 'frequencyWrapperOne' that has been wrapped in the function 'testWrapper'. A call to testWrapper does nothing. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? Code: function testWrapper() { function frequencyWrapperOne() { var numberArrayOne = new Array(0,0,0); for (var i = 0; i < 1000; i = i + 1) { var chosenNumber = Math.floor(Math.random() * 3); if (chosenNumber == 0) { numberArrayOne[0] = numberArrayOne[0] + 1; } if (chosenNumber == 1) { numberArrayOne[1] = numberArrayOne[1] + 1; } if (chosenNumber == 2) { numberArrayOne[2] = numberArrayOne[2] + 1; } } return window.alert(numberArrayOne.join(',')); } } testWrapper(); Thanks. i have code to create a select list. this select list is populated by db query i have two pieces of code i need looked at to fix the problem Code: echo "<select name='LearnedJutsus' id='YourJutsu' onchange='return jutsu()' >"; foreach($learnedJutsuInfo as $v) { echo "<option value='$v'>$v</option>"; } echo "</select></form>"; and most importantly this one! Code: var selection=document.getElementById("x").options[document.getElementById("x").selectedIndex].value; i did not write the above code it was donated to me but it seems to be not working correctly. what i need is an explanation on how it works (which would be best since im foggy with jscript)or a fix for it i basically need it to grab the selected option's information for later use in the program. this is a pivotal part of the system any help appreciated. I'm learning JS from pretty much scratch and the first thing I'm trying to do is simply make an image fade function. I just can't seem to make it work though, the image starts off at the right opacity (im this case 0.5) but after that the page goes white and the script never stops. It does seem to be counting up normally "opacity: 0.6 opacity: 0.7" etc. though. Code: <img src="1.jpg" id="pic1"> <script type="text/javascript"> var amount = 0.5; var target = document.getElementById('pic1'); function fade() { if (target.style.opacity < 1.0) { target.style.opacity = amount; amount = amount + 0.1; document.write("<br>opacity: " + target.style.opacity); setTimeout("fade()", 1000) //fade(); } } fade(); </script> edit I rewrote it to make it simpler but still having basically the same problem D:! Hello all, Looking for some help to alter a gallery script, very kindly provided for use he http://monc.se/kitchen/80/lightweigh...ith-thumbnails At the moment, the script creates a gallery with thumbnails from a list of images (from my basic understanding), and I want to add to it so the current code also picks up the text from the alt tag and displays that within a div box positioned absolutely elsewhere on the page, when the main image is displayed. Here is the javascript: Code: var gal = { init : function() { if (!document.getElementById || !document.createElement || !document.appendChild) return false; if (document.getElementById('gallery')) document.getElementById('gallery').id = 'jgal'; var li = document.getElementById('jgal').getElementsByTagName('li'); li[0].className = 'active'; for (i=0; i<li.length; i++) { li[i].style.backgroundImage = 'url(' + li[i].getElementsByTagName('img')[0].src + ')'; li[i].title = li[i].getElementsByTagName('img')[0].alt; gal.addEvent(li[i],'click',function() { var im = document.getElementById('jgal').getElementsByTagName('li'); for (j=0; j<im.length; j++) { im[j].className = ''; } this.className = 'active'; }); } }, addEvent : function(obj, type, fn) { if (obj.addEventListener) { obj.addEventListener(type, fn, false); } else if (obj.attachEvent) { obj["e"+type+fn] = fn; obj[type+fn] = function() { obj["e"+type+fn]( window.event ); } obj.attachEvent("on"+type, obj[type+fn]); } } } gal.addEvent(window,'load', function() { gal.init(); }); Here is the HTML, which I have enclosed within a div box positioned absolutely on the page: Code: <ul id="gallery"> <li><img src="images/je_1.jpg" alt="Josef & Erika 1"></li> <li><img src="images/roland_ads_2.jpg" alt="Roland Ads"></li> <li><img src="images/cd_2.jpg" alt="CD Cover 2"></li> <li><img src="images/cd_1.jpg" alt="CD Cover 1"></li> <li><img src="images/je_3.jpg" alt="Josef & Erika 3"></li> <li><img src="images/je_2.jpg" alt="Josef & Erika 2"></li> <li><img src="images/lktrd_poster1.jpg" alt="LKTRD Poster"></li> <li><img src="images/je_4.jpg" alt="Josef & Erika 4"></li> <li><img src="images/inside_1.jpg" alt="Inside Magazine"></li> <li><img src="images/oceanen_4.jpg" alt="Oceanen"></li> </ul> And here is the CSS: Code: /* general styling for this example */ * { margin: 0; padding: 0; } body { padding: 20px; } /* begin gallery styling */ #jgal { list-style: none; width: 170px; } #jgal li { opacity: .7; float: left; display: block; width: 45px; height: 45px; background-position: 50% 50%; cursor: pointer; border: 3px solid #fff; outline: 1px solid #ddd; margin-right: 14px; margin-bottom: 14px; } #jgal li img { position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 200px; display: none; border: solid; border-width:1px; border-color:#DDDDDD; } #jgal li.active img { display: block; } #jgal li.active, #jgal li:hover { outline-color: #bbb; opacity: .99 /* safari bug */ } /* styling without javascript */ #gallery { list-style: none; display: block; } #gallery li { float: left; margin: 0 10px 10px 0; } #capt <!--[if lt IE 8]> <style media="screen, projection" type="text/css"> #jgal li { filter: alpha(opacity=50); } #jgal li.active, #jgal li:hover { filter: alpha(opacity=100); } </style> <![endif]--> I don't really know anything about javascript at all, I'm afraid, so any help anyone can give will be very gratefully received.
