JavaScript - Opening The Slideshow Links In The Same Page!
Hi there!
I've been trying to edit this script but it continues to open my slideshow images into new tabs. I would like that the images on the slideshows when clicked they will open in the same tab. How can I do that? Thanks in advanced Here is the script I am using <a href="javascript:gotoshow()"><img src="http://imgkk.com/i/hPnvq8.jpg"target="_self""_innerframe" name="slide" border=1 width=375 height=275></a> <script> <!-- //configure the paths of the images, plus corresponding target links slideshowimages("http://imgkk.com/i/hPnvq8.jpg","http://imgkk.com/i/blxJnL.jpg","http://imgkk.com/i/7UzTr8.jpg","http://imgkk.com/i/_CP_mA.jpg") slideshowlinks("http://www.pimpthatfood.com/ptf-articles","http://www.pimpthatfood.com/food-forum","http://www.pimpthatfood.com/ptf-store","http://www.pimpthatfood.com/healthips") //configure the speed of the slideshow, in miliseconds var slideshowspeed=5000 var whichlink=0 var whichimage=0 function slideit(){ if (!document.images) return document.images.slide.src=slideimages[whichimage].src whichlink=whichimage if (whichimage<slideimages.length-1) whichimage++ else whichimage=0 setTimeout("slideit()",slideshowspeed) } slideit() //--> </script> Similar TutorialsHello everyone, I'm very new to Javascript, and I'm trying to build a simple webpage with frames with navigation links that open in other frames. I have three frames in the main part of my webpage, A, B, and C. Frame A is the header, Frame B is where I keep the links, and Frame C is where I want the links to display. I'm trying to get the links in Frame B to work both as text links and as radio button links. So far, I have managed to get the text links to open in Frame C as I wanted to, but when it comes to the radio buttons, I encounter a problem. The radio buttons do open as links... Except, they open in the frame they're contained, Frame B, rather than in Frame C like I want them to. Does anyone know how I might fix this problem? Is the coding completely wrong or is it just a simple mistake I've overlooked? Here is the relevant code: This is the code for the main page with the frames: Code: <html> <frameset rows="100,*"> <frame src="Hello.htm" NAME="A"/> <frameset cols="25%,75%"> <frame src="Linklist.htm" NAME="B"/> <frame src="Start.htm" NAME="C"/> </frameset> </frameset> </html> And this is the code for my links: Code: <html> <head> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> function go(loc) { window.location.href = loc; } </script> </head> <BODY BGCOLOR="#000000" TEXT="#green"> <p><center><h4>Links</h4></center></p> <form name="form"> <input type="radio" name="loc" onClick="go('http://www.wikipedia.org/');" TARGET="C"> <A HREF="http://www.wikipedia.org/" TARGET="C">Wikipedia</A><br> <input type="radio" name="loc" onClick="go('http://dictionary.reference.com/'); TARGET="C""> <A HREF="http://dictionary.reference.com/" TARGET="C">Dictionary.com</A><br> </form> </html> Any and all help would be much appreciated. This has me really stumped. Thank you for your time! I've created a slideshow on our site using the java template at http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/.../jsslide.shtml Are there simple modifications I can make to this code in order to cause clicking on the image links to go straight to them, rather than creating a new window/tab? Thanks for the help. Hi All, I am very new at this and do not have any script editing skills. I have been building my website with webeasy 8 and downloaded one of the free scripts from JavaScriptKit website and I edited the parts that i think it were suppose to be edited. However, my problem is that the script is not working and i don't know where to begin ..... When i preview the site it shows broken link icon where the picture suppose to load. The pictures URL is correct, thus my dilemma! I don't know what else to do.... Copy of script bellow <script type="text/javascript"> // Flexible Image Slideshow- By JavaScriptKit.com (http://www.javascriptkit.com) // For this and over 400+ free scripts, visit JavaScript Kit- http://www.javascriptkit.com/ // This notice must stay intact for use var ultimateshow=new Array() //ultimateshow[x]=["path to image", "OPTIONAL link for image", "OPTIONAL link target"] ultimateshow[0]=['C:\Users\Tony\Desktop\Website Pictures and stuff\SS_Pics\SS_01.jpg'] ultimateshow[1]=['C:\Users\Tony\Desktop\Website Pictures and stuff\SS_Pics\SS_02.jpg'] ultimateshow[2]=['C:\Users\Tony\Desktop\Website Pictures and stuff\SS_Pics\SS_03.jpg'] ultimateshow[3]=['C:\Users\Tony\Desktop\Website Pictures and stuff\SS_Pics\SS_04.jpg'] ultimateshow[4]=['C:\Users\Tony\Desktop\Website Pictures and stuff\SS_Pics\SS_05.jpg'] //configure the below 3 variables to set the dimension/background color of the slideshow var slidewidth="540px" //set to width of LARGEST image in your slideshow var slideheight="412px" //set to height of LARGEST iamge in your slideshow var slidecycles="continous" //number of cycles before slideshow stops (ie: "2" or "continous") var randomorder="no" //randomize the order in which images are displayed? I found a free script for a auto-advancing slideshow that allows you to give each image in the slideshow a unique link. My problem is that when you click on one of the pictures the link opens in a new window instead of loading in the default browser window. I have tried to search google for an answer but my lack of javascript knowledge has left me scratching my chin. Here's the code in the head of my page: Code: <script language="JavaScript1.1"> <!-- /* JavaScript Image slideshow */ var slideimages=new Array() var slidelinks=new Array() function slideshowimages(){ for (i=0;i<slideshowimages.arguments.length;i++){ slideimages[i]=new Image() slideimages[i].src=slideshowimages.arguments[i] } } function slideshowlinks(){ for (i=0;i<slideshowlinks.arguments.length;i++) slidelinks[i]=slideshowlinks.arguments[i] } function gotoshow(){ if (!window.winslide||winslide.closed) winslide=window.open(slidelinks[whichlink]) else winslide.location=slidelinks[whichlink] winslide.focus() } //--> </script> and here's the Body code: Code: <script> <!-- //configure the paths of the images, plus corresponding target links slideshowimages("images/services/3d_meter.jpg", "images/services/3d_prototype.jpg", "images/services/3d_stage_renderings.jpg", "images/services/atsite.jpg", "images/services/netstar.jpg", "images/services/photo_manipulation.jpg", "images/services/powerpoint.jpg") slideshowlinks("/", "/", "/", "/", "/", "/", "/") //configure the speed of the slideshow, in miliseconds var slideshowspeed=8000 var whichlink=0 var whichimage=0 function slideit(){ if (!document.images) return document.images.slide.src=slideimages[whichimage].src whichlink=whichimage if (whichimage<slideimages.length-1) whichimage++ else whichimage=0 setTimeout("slideit()",slideshowspeed) } slideit() //--> </script> fooling around with it, I think I have determined that my problem is the window.open in the function gotoshow, but again, I'm a designer who has little knowledge of how this actually works. If it helps, here is a link to my site where I have the slideshow, http://gravescreativedesign.com/services.html All of the images link to the index page for my site at the moment for testing purposes, but these images will eventually link to different urls within my portfolio section of my website. hello everybody, I need help about, I need to change the result to opening a url page. I know this is caused by the fact that the image loads faster than the slideshow so we see the image first in that space. what i am trying to do is pause the single image load until the slideshow loads, but i dont know how? I cant move the image down and load it in the body because that left side column is controlled by the header slideshow it has to be part of it when it loads. has to be a way to make the slide show load on the page and then the image. here is the setup on the header.. Code: <table border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"> <tr><td height="10px"> </td></tr> <tr><td valign="top"> <?php if($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']!='/crop.php') {?> <div style="width:250px; background-color:#666666; height:250px; float:right; display:inline; color:#CCCCCC; margin-right:8px;"> <div id="fadeshow1"> </div> <!-- close fadeshow div --> <!-- added image --> <div style="text-align:center;width:250px;padding-top:30px; background-color:#FFFFFF;float:right;color:#000000;"> <img src="<?=$SKIN_IMAGE_PATH?>/myimage.gif" border="0" alt="" title="myimage" /> </div> <!-- end add --> </div> <!-- close top div for fadeshow and this image --> <?php } ?> the body of the site pages load here Im trying to run javascript on a page, that has a regular frame, and get all the links from the frame. However im not very good at javascript which makes this much harder This is the script im trying to use: Code: javascript: for(var i=0; i<window.frames.length; i++){for (i=0; i < document.links.length; i++) { alert(document.links[i].href); }}; I've got a client using JQuery pageslide function on a wordpress site - http://srobbin.com/blog/jquery-pageslide/ There is a sidebar menu on the left and about 5 pages in the right hand side. So you click one of the links on the sidebar menu and it slides to one of the 5 corresponding pages. I guess the 5 pages are all really one page though within the slider app? I'm wondering if it's possible to link directly to a page within the slider... because right now it always goes to the first page of the 5. And is there a way to program it so the back button in the browser makes the page slide go back to the previous page, rather than going to the last actual page in the browser? Hi, I have a page with an iframe in it. I need my script to search the contents of the iframe for a specified string, and click the link within it. Here is my coding. Code: <script> setTimeout(function() { window.location.reload(); }, 2000); // 2 seconds, e.g. $(document).ready(function() { $('a[href*="13468100"]', $("game").contents()).closest('tr').find('.fightActionInnerInner').parent("a").trigger("click"); }); </script> </head> <body> <iframe src="http://vl.storm8.com/hitlist.php" width="100%" height="800px" id="game"></iframe> In the post below is the content of the iframe. At the moment the script doesn't want to click the link, it just refreshes the page. Can anyone advise? Hi there, I am trying to open some SWF videos from an HTML page. When the user clicks the link, I would like to have the videos open in a transparent window (not a separate browser wndow). I have figured out how to embed the files and have them open in a transparent window as soon as you load/refresh the page but I want to open the SWF using a link. Any suggestions? Thank you all. B Hi, I need to open a PDF file via a web page. Basically, I want to have a textbox where I type in a filename and then click submit and it will open that document. For example, I need to open a PDF document... I need to have a text box where I can input "test1" for example, click "GO" and it will add the "C:/test/" + textbox value + ".pdf" and open it in the browser. I could do it in PHP but this is going to run on a local machine with no serverside so I assume JS will be the way forward. Any ideas? Many Thanks MJFCAD is there a way in HTML or Javascript to open a new window and force it to be a new Window, not a new tab? and also avoid popup blockers??
You can see the website here with all the code to make it easier for you to diagnose what is happening: Code: http://www.fdfdaa.com/desktop/desktop.html When you go to the start menu and select anything on the left side, you will see that windows open 100% of the screen by default. I did that by adding maximized:true but that doesn't appear to be working for the icons on the desktop itself. If you click on one of those 4 icons on the desktop though, it isn't opening at 100% for some reason. You can see my classes file here as well: Code: http://www.fdfdaa.com/desktop/classes.js Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time! I want to open a new tab "http://www.example.com/" when the user presses a key. How can this be done?
Ok, newbie here. Like, REAL new. Anyway, used some script for an animated drop down menu from clarklab.net. I want users to click on menu to expand to sub's, but I can't figure out how to fix it from expanding every single one. I also want users to be able to close back up. Help? I am ready to jump.
