JavaScript - Iframe Loading On Top Of Javascript Popup
Hello!
I have a script that loads a popup window on any page of a website, in order to temporarily cover the page's content. This popup window is supposed to load on top of page's content, acting as a sort of page blocker. So the visitor can't see what's on the page until he clicks the popup. The problem i'm having right now is when i put this script on a page that has iframe content. The iframe loads on top of this popup and not underneath as it's supposed to be. Do you guys have any advise on what should i do to make this work properly when using iframes on a page? Here is the script: Code: var blocker_originalHtmlOverflow; var blocker_originalBodyOverflow; function blocker_addLoadEvent(func) { var oldonload = window.onload; if (typeof window.onload != 'function') { window.onload = func; } else { window.onload = function() { oldonload(); func(); } } } blocker_addLoadEvent(blocker_init); function blocker_init() { if(blocker_getCookie('content_unlocked')=='1') return; blocker_originalHtmlOverflow = document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].style.overflow; blocker_originalBodyOverflow = document.getElementsByTagName('html')[0].style.overflow; document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].style.overflow = 'hidden'; document.getElementsByTagName('html')[0].style.overflow = 'hidden'; function pageScroll() { window.scroll(0,0); // scroll to 0 if(blocker_getCookie('content_unlocked')!='1'){ scrolldelay = setTimeout('pageScroll()',100); // scrolls every 1 second } } pageScroll(); var haze = document.createElement('div'); haze.id = 'blocker_haze'; haze.style.filter = 'alpha(opacity=50)'; haze.style.opacity = .5; haze.style.height = '2000'; haze.style.width = '2000%'; haze.style.backgroundColor = '#000'; haze.style.position = 'absolute'; haze.style.top = '0px'; haze.style.left = '0px'; haze.style.zIndex = 1000000; var centerPane = document.createElement('centerPane'); centerPane.id = 'blocker_centerPane'; centerPane.style.width = '500px'; centerPane.style.height = '361px'; centerPane.style.border = '5px solid #CCC'; centerPane.style.position = 'absolute'; centerPane.style.left = '50%'; centerPane.style.marginLeft = '-250px'; centerPane.style.top= '100px'; centerPane.style.backgroundColor = '#FFF'; centerPane.style.zIndex = 1000001; centerPane.style.backgroundImage = 'url(http://www.fasgasfga.com/sfasdfasdf.jpg)'; centerPane.style.backgroundRepeat = 'no-repeat'; centerPane.style.backgroundPosition = '20px 10px'; centerPane.style.padding = '20px'; var h1 = document.createElement('h1'); h1.style.color = '#000'; h1.style.textAlign = 'center'; h1.style.fontSize = '36px'; h1.style.margin = '0 0 10px 0'; h1.style.padding = '8px 0 0 15px'; h1.style.fontFamily = 'arial'; h1.style.lineHeight = '36px'; h1.innerHTML = blocker_headline; centerPane.appendChild(h1); var p1 = document.createElement('p'); p1.innerHTML = blocker_instructionalText; p1.style.textAlign = 'center'; p1.style.padding = '20px 0 20px 0'; p1.style.margin = '0'; p1.style.fontSize = '18px'; p1.style.lineHeight = '18px'; p1.style.color = '#000'; p1.style.fontFamily = 'arial'; centerPane.appendChild(p1); var ul = document.createElement('ul'); ul.style.textAlign = 'center'; ul.style.margin = '0 0 10px 0'; ul.style.padding = '0'; ul.style.listStyleType = 'none'; for(var i = 0;i<blocker_surveryLinks.length;i++){ var li = document.createElement('li'); var a = document.createElement('a'); a.style.display = 'block'; a.style.fontSize = '17px'; a.style.lineHeight = '380px'; a.style.color = 'Black'; a.style.fontFamily = 'arial'; a.style.textDecoration = 'underline'; a.target = '_blank'; a.href = blocker_surveryLinks[i].url; a.innerHTML = blocker_surveryLinks[i].text; a.onclick = function(){ window.setTimeout(unblockContent, 55000); } li.appendChild(a) ul.appendChild(li); } centerPane.appendChild(ul); var p2 = document.createElement('p'); p2.style.textAlign = 'center'; p2.innerHTML = blocker_footerText; p2.style.padding = '20px 0 0 0'; p2.style.margin = '0'; p2.style.color = '#F50E0E'; p2.style.fontFamily = 'arial'; p2.style.fontSize = '15px'; p2.style.lineHeight = '15px'; centerPane.appendChild(p2); document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(haze); document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(centerPane); } function unblockContent(){ document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].style.overflow = blocker_originalBodyOverflow; document.getElementsByTagName('html')[0].style.overflow = blocker_originalHtmlOverflow; document.getElementById('blocker_haze').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('blocker_centerPane').style.display = 'none'; //blocker_setCookie("content_unlocked", 1, 365, '/', ''); Set_Cookie( 'content_unlocked', 1 , 365, '/', '', '' ); } function Set_Cookie( name, value, expires, path, domain, secure ) { // set time, it's in milliseconds var today = new Date(); today.setTime( today.getTime() ); /* if the expires variable is set, make the correct expires time, the current script below will set it for x number of days, to make it for hours, delete * 24, for minutes, delete * 60 * 24 */ if ( expires ) { expires = expires * 1000 * 60 * 60 * 24; } var expires_date = new Date( today.getTime() + (expires) ); document.cookie = name + "=" +escape( value ) + ( ( expires ) ? You can see that he Code: http://www.zazavi.com/desktop/desktop.html If anyone could tell me what I am doing wrong, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time! I am using PhoneGap to create an iOS app with an embedded ESRI map. I first created this application using HANA XS Engine. After logging onto the ESRI website, and opening my application in a web browser (Safari or Chrome), the ESRI map loads. However, when I try to convert this application into an iOS application, the map does not load. I think that this may be an authorization issue since you must have an account with ESRI to open the map, but I have tried logging into the ESRI website with the account on Safari on my iPad prior to running the app, but it still does not load in the native application. Currently in the code, I have the ESRI map embedded into a .html page using an iframe (see below). <iframe src="ESRI URL HERE" id="esriFrame" width="100%" height="600px" seamless style="border:solid"></iframe> Any insight into how to add the credentials into the code for an automatic login into ESRI, or another solution, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Hello! =) I am using tinybox2 to make a modal window, which now I have loading correctly. =) thank you! the modal window loads as an iframe, but I have two image links inside the modal window. One I'd like to open in a new window (i got that one!), the other image I'd like to be treated the same as the X button and have it close the modal window. this is the body onload in the main document Code: <body onload="TINY.box.show({iframe:'modal.html',boxid:'frameless',width:750,height:450,fixed:false,maskid:'bluemask',maskopacity:70,closejs:function(){closeJS()}})"> <script language="JavaScript1.2">mmLoadMenus();</script> these are two lines for closing in the CSS file Code: .tclose {position:absolute; top:0px; right:0px; width:30px; height:30px; cursor:pointer; background:url(images/close.png) no-repeat} .tclose:hover {background-position:0 -30px} Thanks once again in advance! carrie Hi i have the following Code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { window.name = "main"; $("#uploadSubmit").bind("click", function () { //edit below to suit var src = "uploader.php"; //end var results = '<iframe src="' + src + '" name="uploader" id="uploaderIframe"></iframe>'; $("#uploader").append(results); $("#uploadResult").html('Uploading please wait... <img src="images/loader.gif" />'); $("#uploaderIframe").load(function () { var iframeHtml = $('#uploaderIframe').contents().find("body").html(); $("#uploadResult").html(iframeHtml); $("#uploaderIframe").remove(); main.execCommand('Stop'); main.stop(); }); }); }); </script> works perfectly but the main page keeps loading once the iframe is removed. Any know why and how i can terminate the loading? Hey guys i am creating a Greasemonkey script that adds an ajax chat to a website. Greasemonkey is an addon for firefox that lets you modify the html code of websites before they are showed to the user. I am in the process of creating a wizz feature that will allow you to send a message to a member and where ever he is on the web his gona receive it. The way it works right now is there's a hidden iframe in every page load and when the player has a message it popups a small window It's working great but the popup is always instantly blocked because firefox has a popup bloker integrated and because it can popup on random websites they don't allow it and there for never gets the message ... Everything else i tryed was blocked by the fact that it opens in the iframe that is invisible. I even tryed doing it the old fashon way with an alert() but same thing you don't see it because it's in the hidden frame. And i tryed adding top.alert() but i get a javascript the "Access Denied" message. The "Access Denied" error in any browser usually means that a script in one window or frame is trying to access another window or frame whose document's domain is different from the document containing the script. I know DHTML AJAX popup would be the only way to give the user the message with out being blocked ... but how can i make it popup out of the iframe into the main frame with out being blocked in anyway ... I am out of ideas ... Hi Guys, I have an situation. An DIV has two sections, one to prompt user info and other displays ads. While the ads section is in an iframe(inside DIV) whose src is set dynamically, i.e. when user tries to close the browser, then my code brings up the DIV and sets the src of that iframe also an browsers default prompt stays on top of the page asking for 'Ok' and 'Cancel' button to leave/stay on the page respectively. My problem is that the iframe is not loaded unless user clicks on the 'Cancel' button. This happens in IE,Chrome and Safari but works fine in Firefox. I know this is an browser's behavior but still expect an cross browser solution. Hi, folks! Having a big issue he i got a code that works fine in Chrome, FF, but seems unreadable by IE. Got a main HTML code that have a DIV tag, declared like this Code: <div id='leframe' style='visibility:hidden'></div> Then, I call, through a Flash file, an external function that says: Code: function loadNextPg(nextPg) { var varDiv = "<iframe src='pg"+nextPg+".htm'></iframe>"; document.getElementById("leframe").innerHTML = varDiv; } } It would load the HTML named (pg'+nextPg+'.htm), where nextPg is a String value ("01", "02", etc). It works WONDERFULLY in Chrome, FF, etc, but not in IE. Does anyone know if I'm doing anything wrong? Best regards and thanks in advance. Ok, I am aware this will sound like a plug for my script, but please bare with me. I created a bookmarklet script to help me audit extremely large style sheets. Basically while on a site that you would like to audit, you click the bookmarklet and the document's body contents gets remove and replaced with an iframe that points to the current sites home page. From here you can choose what style sheet (the script finds) to begin reporting over. The more pages you browse (through the iframe) the more accurate the report gets. My problem however, is if the person is on the site's home page when first running the script, the iframe never loads up. I think it has to do with the fact that you are on the home page, and then the iframe tries to point to the home page as well and fails for some reason. Is there any solution that comes to mind for anyone out there? You can test it by bookmarking this bookmarklet and running it on any site's home page where style sheets can be found: Get The Bookmarklet on this page Again, it works great if you don't start the script from a sites home page. Hi, I was working on my web page and noticed that depending on the width of the screen, the Iframe I created would not display correctly. Because of that I needed to come up with a piece of code that would detect the screens horizontal resolution and pick the right Iframe to be loaded. Below are the scenarios that specify which one should be loaded. I am very bad with javascript so could someone help me come up with a piece of code that would load the right frame? Thanks. The web address where the code will go is www.jumbledfun.com/nasa.html. If the horizontal resolution of the screen is less then 1600 I would like this Iframe to be loaded: (It Would Go Under The If Part) Code: <iframe src="http://www.jumbledfun.com/nasaframes/nasalivelr.html" width= "55%" height= "580%" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"/> </iframe> If the horizontal resolution of the screen is 1600 or more I would like this Iframe to be loaded: (It Would Go Under The Else Part) Code: <iframe src="http://www.jumbledfun.com/nasaframes/nasalive.html" width= "100%" height= "300%" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"/> </iframe> This is the format that I would want it in: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> if (condition) { code to be executed if condition is true } else { code to be executed if condition is not true } </script> Hi guys, right now I'm trying to write a comet application, that communicates with a server by iframe streaming. The problem is, that in my applications the browser does the "loading thing" (loading bar, loading cursor). I have seen many applications, where iframe streaming is used, without any loading signs in the browser. For example: http://www.stream-hub.com/demo/StockDemo/index.html http://orbited.org/wiki/LiveHelp http://lib1.freeliberator.com/exampl...e-example.html (some examples use XHR streaming) Could somebody tell me how to do it without the loading stuff? Thanks and best regards, Markus Ok, I'm not a javascript expert, but I'm using a Drupal module called Calendar which uses some javascript to popup links in a DIV instead of going to a new page. This appears to work by adding class="popup" to links on the calendar. I want to use the same functionality to link to calendar events from other areas on the site, not just on the calendar. It looks like the javascript file is loaded on every page of the site, but adding class="popup" only results in an empty DIV with a close button, without actually loading the content. Can anyone please help me solve this? A link to what I'm working on is he http://67.220.206.170/~jazzbone/?q=home. The upcoming events section is a block from the Calendar view (created by the Calendar module), however it does not do popups by default like the calendar page, so I've tried adding class="popup" to these links to make it work. You can see in the main body of the page is a test link with class="popup" as a test as well. I want them to behave like the popups on the event calendar page. I think this is the javascript file in question: http://67.220.206.170/~jazzbone/site...r/jcalendar.js I know this is a lot, and I'm a newbie here, but I appreciate any help, thanks. I am building a website for a friend and am using Javascript. When I preview the site from my computer in Chrome/Firefox then all the JS elements render correctly. I am using jCarouselLite by the way and have used HTML Boilerplate too. However, when I upload the site the Carousel does not work... Also, I seem to have a lot of scripts kicking around inside the html so I will give you a list of those, but here are my external JS files so my question before posting up all the code are 1.) what is the problem with rendering the JS elements live on t'internet, and 2.) can I reduce the amount of JS files/scripts to help page loading times? css_browser_select.js modernizr-1.7.min.js jquery-1.6.1.min.js jcarousellite.js functions.js Code: $(document).ready(function(){ // Activate the main slider $("#mainSlider").jcarousellite({ btnNext: "#sliderBtnNext", btnPrev: "#sliderBtnPrev", visible: 1 }); }); plugins.js script.js jquery.placeholder.min.js and this is the code inside my HTML: Head: Code: <!-- CSS: implied media="all" --> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" media="screen"> <link rel="stylesheet" media="handheld" href="css/handheld.css"> <!-- CSS Browser Compatibility --> <script src="js/css_browser_select.js"></script> <!-- Mobile viewport optimized: j.mp/bplateviewport --> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"> <!-- All JavaScript at the bottom, except for Modernizr which enables HTML5 elements & feature detects --> <script src="js/libs/modernizr-1.7.min.js"></script> /Head and this is at the bottom of the Body: Code: <script src="js/libs/jquery-1.6.1.min.js"></script> <script src="js/libs/jcarousellite.js"></script> <script src="js/libs/functions.js"></script> <!-- Grab Google CDN's jQuery, with a protocol relative URL; fall back to local if necessary --> <script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script>window.jQuery || document.write("<script src='js/libs/jquery-1.6.1.min.js'>\x3C/script>")</script> <!-- scripts concatenated and minified via ant build script--> <script src="js/plugins.js"></script> <script src="js/script.js"></script> <!-- THIS MAY NEED TO BE REDONE! Placeholder for Forms --> <script src="js/libs/jquery.placeholder.min.js"></script> <script> if (!Modernizr.input.placeholder){ $('input[placeholder], textarea[placeholder]').placeholder(); } </script> <!-- Form Submit --> <script> function submitForm() { document.contactPhone.submit(); } </script> <!-- Google Analytics Script - Change UA-XXXXX-X to be your site's ID --> <script> var _gaq=[["_setAccount","UA-XXXXX-X"],["_trackPageview"]]; (function(d,t){var g=d.createElement(t),s=d.getElementsByTagName(t)[0];g.async=1; g.src=("https:"==location.protocol?"//ssl":"//www")+".google-analytics.com/ga.js"; s.parentNode.insertBefore(g,s)}(document,"script")); </script> <!-- Bookmark Script --> <script> function bookmark_us(url, title){ if (window.sidebar) // firefox window.sidebar.addPanel(title, url, ""); else if(window.opera && window.print){ // opera var elem = document.createElement('a'); elem.setAttribute('href',url); elem.setAttribute('title',title); elem.setAttribute('rel','sidebar'); elem.click(); } else if(document.all)// ie window.external.AddFavorite(url, title); } </script> I know this was here previously but no solution was found and I wonder if someone could help. JavaScript loads before even DOM is fully loaded but only in Chrome browser. I know I could use setTimeout function but it's now ideal in my case. I am working on a program based on Chromium and have a html page inside it. What I want to do is include a variable so that a particular PHP page opens. I include where I am at present: HTML page calling JS popup: <input type="text" name="DOCUMENTS" id="DOCUMENTS" onclick="makeSelection(this.form, 'DOCUMENTS');"> JS Code: targetElement = null; function makeSelection(myform, id) { if(!myform || !id) return; targetElement = myform.elements[id]; var handle = window.open("../file_upload.php?dir=CODE", "mywindow","menubar=0,resizable=0,width=400,height=250"); } What I want to be able to do is get it so that the bit of JS that has 'dir=CODE' has a variable called from the HTML page. Is this possible, and if so, could anyone please help me out? Regards, Neil I have a loop that originally printed out a day, in a table, that linked to a new page. Code: out.println("<th height=100><a href=eventPage.jsp?month="+(n+1)+"&day="+d+">" + d + "</a>"); This works fine but now I want to instead have it be a link a page thats a pop up. The code I have now is as follows Code: out.println("<th height=100><a href="eventPage.jsp?month="+(n+1)+"&day="+d"" onclick="popUp(this.href);return false"> + d + "</a>">); and Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function popUp(URL) { <!-- window.open(URL,'width=300,height=300'); //--> } </script> I can not seem to find where I am going wrong. Any help would be appreciated. |
