JavaScript - How Could I Open A Page/popup After Closing One? (logout User)
How could I open a page/popup after closing one?
The objective is to log the user out if they haven't Logged out or clicked Logout. I am sure there is a simple way to do this. None of my ideas work. The only answer I could come with (after testing the whole day...) IE(any version), Firefox, and other browsers don't support this idea, due to the fact that the user clicked close and you can't impose things on them. Similar TutorialsI have a lightbox pop up on my homepage. I'm curious if there's a way to automatically close the pop up after 5 seconds or so. For some readon onClose kept popping in my head, but I'm pretty sure that's not correct. Thanks. I'm working on a website where I need some help with open and closing divs using javascript. This is the website: clashjeans.se/test/styles.html As you can see I'm using a javascript to open each jeans style link, I don't know if this is the best way to do it, but it's how I've done it so far. If you click the "Frankie style link" at the bottom the div called Frankie will show and you will see a little image in that div that says "next wash". What I would like this link to do is to close the frankie div and open up another wich looks almost the same as the previous, the only thing that will change is the pictures actually. Please help me solve this problem, any suggestion about how to make this work will be highly appreciated! Hi, I want to restrict opening my popup window if it is already opened. For simple scenario, it is quite possible to do but in my case -- 1) When parent page is opening popup window, it is getting refreshed (required from client for some reason). 2) Once submit button is clicked from popup window, again parent page is getting refreshed (again its a requirement from client side). With these 2 conditions, I lost my saved value from variable and hence new popup is keep coming when the action is same. Currently I am using below code to open popup [CODE] function OpenWindow() { if(winPop && !winPop.closed) { alert("Popup is already open"); } else { winPop = window.open('MyPopupPage.aspx'); } } [CODE] Please help me to get rid of this problem. Thanks in advance. - Bhasker Is there a way to capture the event of the user closing the browser??
I want to implement a javascript function where a submit button will be submitted from the parent page each time I close a child page. Please let me know what I did wrong in my code and please elaborate your answer so that I could understand it better. Thank you so much for your help. I want my jscript to just click on the submit button once. Code: <form id = "finalForm "name= "finalForm" method="POST" action=""> <input type="Submit" id = "finalSelected" name="finalSelected"/> I struck to open a popup window after submit the page. I have a js confirmation function: PHP Code: function r_u_sure(message, url){ if(confirm(message)) location.href = url; } if I were calling this function with a regular href, I would use the following: PHP Code: <a HREF="javascript:r_u_sure('Are Sure You want to Delete or Modify Car Information?!','www.somewhere.com)"><a/> however my html link which begins the deletion process of a records opens a popup box that performs. the link is the following: PHP Code: <a onmouseover='this.style.cursor=\"pointer\" ' onfocus='this.blur();' onclick="document.getElementById('PopUp10').style.display = 'block' \"><span><img border='0' src='../images/editcar_info.png' width='40' height='40' title='Delete or Modify Car'></span></a> Any thoughts on how can conbine both so that onclick of the link, first, the confirm box appears, if "ok" is selected, the pop up box will open, else the dialogue box closes and nothing happens. Mossa-- Hello guys was just wondering if you might be able to help me out im looking for a javascript code that will open a window in 100% width, no toolbars, no menubars, no statusbar, nothing but the page conent basically but for it to all be centered on the screen vertically Does anyone know the default size of a popup window when using window.open()? Thanks Hello, First post here. I have the need to create a popup after a delay. The problem I'm getting is that the parent page is refreshing automatically from the action of creating the popup. I don't want the parent page to refresh! This is what I currently have: Code: $popupScript = ' <script language="JavaScript"> setTimeout("window.open(\'index.php?do=renew\',\'Popup1\',\'toolbar=0, width=500, height=500\')",' . $delay . '); </script>'; The page is in php, so that's why I have it as a string, which I later pass to a template page. This would simply be: Code: <script language="JavaScript"> setTimeout("window.open('index.php?do=renew','Popup1','toolbar=0, width=500, height=500')",6000); </script> ... if it was placed straight into the HTML. Incidentally, it's included into the HTML HEAD area, not the body, as the original source of the script suggested: http://www.itechies.net/tutorials/js...op-delayed.htm $delay is the delay before the popup opens, in microseconds (so 6000 would be 6 seconds). What can I do to have the same delayed auto-popup functionality, but without it automatically refreshing the parent page where the above code resides? As some background to what I'm achieving: The issue with not wanting the parent page to refresh is that each time it does, the login session gets extended. The popup itself (which I already have working ok) provides a 'continue working' function, or close and refresh the parent is nothing has been done after a short period. Any help very welcome. Folks I'm using the code below to create a pop-up search box that finds text strings on a contents page. The contents page contains a list of hyperlinks each of which opens a PDF document in the same window. The search box does exactly what it's intended to do, but the problem is this: if the user clicks on "Find next" or "Find previous" once the PDF document is open, an error occurs; the same error occurs if the user then navigates back to the contents page and clicks on "Find next" or "Find previous". I'm thinking the solution must be to get the search box to close as soon as the PDF document opens, but how do I achieve this? Thanks Remster Code: <html> <head> <title>Search this page</title> <script language=JavaScript> var rng = dialogArguments.document.body.createTextRange(); rng.collapse(); function findnext(){ if (document.all.strSearch.value.length < 1) { alert("Please enter text to find."); document.frmSearch.strSearch.focus(); } else { var searchval = document.all.strSearch.value; rng.collapse(false); if (rng.findText(searchval, 1000000000)) { rng.select(); } else { alert("Finished searching page."); rng.select(false); document.frmSearch.strSearch.focus(); } } } function findprevious(){ if (document.all.strSearch.value.length < 1) { alert("Please enter text to find."); document.frmSearch.strSearch.focus(); } else { var searchval = document.all.strSearch.value; rng.collapse(true); if (rng.findText(searchval, 1000000000, 1)) { rng.select(); } else { alert("Finished searching page."); rng.select(false); document.frmSearch.strSearch.focus(); } } } </script> </head> <body bgColor=buttonface> <form name=frmSearch onsubmit="findnext();return false;" onsubmit="findprevious();return false;" action="" method=post> <table cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0> <tr> <td style="font-size: 12px; font-family: Arial" vAlign=top noWrap align=left> <input id=strSearch style="margin-left: 15px; margin-top: 14px; width: 249;" name=strSearch><br> <button style="margin-left: 15px; margin-top: 12px; width: 120px; height: 25px;" accessKey=f onclick=findnext(); name=btnFindNext>Find next</button> <button style="margin-left: 9px; margin-top: 12px; width: 120px; height: 25px;" accessKey=f onclick=findprevious(); name=btnFindPrevious>Find previous</button></br> </td> </tr> </table> </form> </body> </html> Hi everybod, i have on my website http://www.musi9a.coma flash mp3 player that opens in a popup. Quote: http://www.javascriptkit.com/javatutors/openclose.shtml here is what im trying to do, i installed a shout box for my users, its integrated by using session username. but what i want to do is have a username list under the shoutbox that shows which members (usernames) have the box open. that way the other members can see someone is out there to see their message.. one alternative would be to just have the shoutbox auto open (which i need to learn how to do) as soon as they sign on to the site, but what if they close it right away i still have the same issue (they cant see the message that someone is sending them) here is how i open the window now, they have to click on the link. Code: <a href="#" onClick="javascript:popup=window.open('shoutbox/minichat.php','SHTB','status=0,menubar=0,resizable=0,scrollbars=0,width=297px,height=300px');"><font size="2">Shoutbox</font></a> so how do i know which users have it open? and how to i autostart the shoutbox? (do i used onload and onunload ??) thanks I am facing an issue where a link on my website opens in a new window if you simply click on it. However, if you right click and say open in new window or new tab, it opens the same window (URL) again from where the link is clicked. Self Service Option is a link and the JSP calls a function getSelfServSite() when the link is clicked. This is how the code flows in my case function getSelfServSite() { getToTheLink("${myConfigInfo.selfServiceURL}"); // this is because the URL is configurable } function getToTheLink(url) { window.open (url, "currentWindow", ""); } What am I doing wrong. I want it to go to the right link no matter how the user click it. Please advise. Thanks I have a slideshow on the "Projects" page. The javascript is external. There's a link on the homepage that when clicked needs to open the Projects page with the appropriate slide loaded. How do I do that? Here's the code I have for the slideshow: Code: var prev = document.getElementById('prev'); var next = document.getElementById('next'); var current = 0; function prevPic() { clearInterval(interval); if(current > 0) { current--; if(current == 0) { document.getElementById('next').src = "images/right_arrow.jpg"; document.getElementById('prev').src = "images/left_arrow_off.jpg"; } else { document.getElementById('next').src = "images/right_arrow.jpg"; document.getElementById('prev').src = "images/left_arrow.jpg"; } update(); } } function nextPic() { clearInterval(interval); if(current < slides.length - 1) { current++; if(current == slides.length - 1) { document.getElementById('next').src = "images/right_arrow_off.jpg"; document.getElementById('prev').src = "images/left_arrow.jpg"; } else { document.getElementById('next').src = "images/right_arrow.jpg"; document.getElementById('prev').src = "images/left_arrow.jpg"; } update(); } } function update() { var pic = slides[current]; document.getElementById('project_title').innerHTML = pic.title; document.getElementById('project_image').src = "images/slides/" + pic.image; document.getElementById('project_location').innerHTML = "<span>Location:</span> " + pic.location; document.getElementById('project_operation').innerHTML = "<span>Commercial Operation:</span> " + pic.commercial_operation; document.getElementById('counter').innerHTML = (current + 1) + " of " + slides.length; if(pic.link) { document.getElementById('project_link').style.display = "block"; document.getElementById('project_href').href = pic.link; } else { document.getElementById('project_link').style.display = "none"; } } //preload slides var images = []; for(i in slides) { var img = new Image(); img.src = "images/slides/" + slides[i].image; images.push(img); } I have a web site application written in VB.net and asp. The main page uses JavaScript to load a popup page that performs multiple tasks. The main page accepts a variety of incoming messages, only SOME of which need to be passed to this popup page for processing. I found an ugly way to pass the message to the popup by placing it in a Session variable. Now I need to cause it to be handled. I see two possibilities, and I do not have a clue how to implement either. Either one would be great: 1. In the main page, trigger a subroutine in the popup, using JavaScript. OR 2. In the popup, establish a trigger any time that Session variable changes. Hi I want to create a popup that is completely contained within the page (so i guess its not really a popup). I'm looking for something where if a button is clicked, a small box will come up in the current window and become the active window, while the original window is visible but not active. It's hard to explain, but its a popup that is contained in the same window. And when the user presses okay or cancel on the "popup" window. They return to where they were in the original window. Is this possible? How would I do it? Thanks |
