JavaScript - How Could I Open A Page/popup After Closing One? (logout User)

I struck to open a popup window after submit the page. I used the following logic . but it's not open.

In my page i have to open the popup window when i do on click. one place it is opening correctly. but in another case not able to open. Can you give me the solution on this one.

I have the need to create a popup after a delay. The problem I'm getting is that the parent page is refreshing automatically from the action of creating the popup. I don't want the parent page to refresh!

This is what I currently have:

The page is in php, so that's why I have it as a string, which I later pass to a template page.

$delay is the delay before the popup opens, in microseconds (so 6000 would be 6 seconds).

What can I do to have the same delayed auto-popup functionality, but without it automatically refreshing the parent page where the above code resides?

As some background to what I'm achieving: The issue with not wanting the parent page to refresh is that each time it does, the login session gets extended. The popup itself (which I already have working ok) provides a 'continue working' function, or close and refresh the parent is nothing has been done after a short period.

Any help very welcome.

I'm using the code below to create a pop-up search box that finds text strings on a contents page. The contents page contains a list of hyperlinks each of which opens a PDF document in the same window. The search box does exactly what it's intended to do, but the problem is this: if the user clicks on "Find next" or "Find previous" once the PDF document is open, an error occurs; the same error occurs if the user then navigates back to the contents page and clicks on "Find next" or "Find previous". I'm thinking the solution must be to get the search box to close as soon as the PDF document opens, but how do I achieve this?

Hi everybod,

i have on my website http://www.musi9a.coma flash mp3 player that opens in a popup. The user can then add songs to it by clicking on a link "add song". When the popup is already open and the user is on the same page the if(popup) or if (popup && popup.open) works but when the user navigates to other pages if(popup) doesnt seem to work anymore. can you help me. You can test on my website choose an artist click on "launch top 30" or "launch all" then go to another artist. You will notice that you have to click twice to get it work (the playlist in the player will change). Any general improvements are also welcome.

I have a textarea with two buttons on it on the main page. When the user types into the textbox and hits the first button, a new window appears with the html language the user typed into the box. the other button closes the window. I cannot get the user's input to show up in the new window... Here is my code so far

here is what im trying to do, i installed a shout box for my users, its integrated by using session username.

but what i want to do is have a username list under the shoutbox that shows which members (usernames) have the box open. that way the other members can see someone is out there to see their message..

one alternative would be to just have the shoutbox auto open (which i need to learn how to do) as soon as they sign on to the site, but what if they close it right away i still have the same issue (they cant see the message that someone is sending them)

I am facing an issue where a link on my website opens in a new window if you simply click on it. However, if you right click and say open in new window or new tab, it opens the same window (URL) again from where the link is clicked.

Self Service Option is a link and the JSP calls a function getSelfServSite() when the link is clicked. This is how the code flows in my case

I have a slideshow on the "Projects" page. The javascript is external.
There's a link on the homepage that when clicked needs to open the Projects page with the appropriate slide loaded. How do I do that?

I have a web site application written in VB.net and asp. The main page uses JavaScript to load a popup page that performs multiple tasks. The main page accepts a variety of incoming messages, only SOME of which need to be passed to this popup page for processing. I found an ugly way to pass the message to the popup by placing it in a Session variable. Now I need to cause it to be handled. I see two possibilities, and I do not have a clue how to implement either. Either one would be great:

1. In the main page, trigger a subroutine in the popup, using JavaScript.
OR
2. In the popup, establish a trigger any time that Session variable changes.

I want to create a popup that is completely contained within the page (so i guess its not really a popup). I'm looking for something where if a button is clicked, a small box will come up in the current window and become the active window, while the original window is visible but not active.

It's hard to explain, but its a popup that is contained in the same window. And when the user presses okay or cancel on the "popup" window. They return to where they were in the original window. Is this possible? How would I do it?
