JavaScript - Password Protecting A Shadowbox Function. Please Help
Hi,
so the page is http://blackpaint.co.uk/BlackPaint09/films/ if you click on 'Tide' you can see the password prompt appears. But the problem I am having is that even if you press cancel or do the wrong password a few times it still open up the shadow box. This is the script for the password protection Code: var getPass = function(el){ var ct = 3, thePrompt = 'Please Enter Your Password', theDefault = ' ', pw = ''; while(ct-- && pw !== 'pass'){ pw = prompt(thePrompt, theDefault); if(pw === null){ ct = 0; } thePrompt = 'Password Incorrect, Please Try Again'; theDefault = 'Password'; } if(pw === 'pass'){ Shadowbox.open(el); } return false; }; This is an example of how a working (non shadowbox) version works successfully. http://www.tidefilm.com/ I would really appreciate some help with this, thanks, Luke p.s. - I know the protection is very low - I don't care if people can find it in the code - that is not important. Similar TutorialsI plan to set up a photo gallery using ShadowBox, but I also want to add a zoom feature within the gallery for individual elements. Preferably using the CloudZoom plugin. How it should (hopefully) work: Click on any thumbnail --> A resized large image opens up inside ShadowBox --> CloudZoom is activated on this image on mouseover. What I've obviously got so far is this: Code: Shadowbox.init({ skipSetup: true }); window.onload = function() { Shadowbox.setup("a.mygallery-elements", { gallery: "mygallery" }); }; Is there a way to call CloudZoom after the gallery is invoked. Have already scoured this forum. No luck. Can anyone out there advise me on this? Hello everyone! I'm trying to use Shadowbox with an Image Gallery on my page, and both are working except for this little thing: Both work fine by themselves on the same page: I have a clickable "contact me" button that brings up my contact page in a Shadowbox, and I have an Image Gallery that is working fine. My problem is that I want to make my images in the Image Gallery also bring up a Shadowbox box when clicked. I tried to use the same (a rel="shadowbox;width=...;height=..." href="...") in the anchor tags of the images, but when I click an image, the link loads over the page, not in a Shadowbox while it works perfectly on the contact button It doesn't look like a Javascript conflict because each one is working, just not in that particular situation. Please can someone help me sort this out! You can preview my page from he http://dl.dropbox.co...eshow/Home.html And save it from he http://dl.dropbox.co...y-slideshow.zip The slideshow is a "mootools qscroller" (included). Please help me out! I'll be very grateful! <3 <3 :* Hi, I would like to know how I can use JavaScript to find the size of my iFrame and feed it to Shadowbox to launch the appropriate sized shadowbox on different browsers and resolutions. For me, the parent page is called 'demo.html' and the iFrame is 'gallery/archive_iframe.html'. Currently, the shadowbox is launched with a fixed height and width (which you will see in the HTML code below). The problem is that 'gallery/archive_iframe.html' displays differently on every browser and every resolution, causing unwanted horizontal and vertical scroll bars. An example can be seen he http://www.mikegermond.com/demo.html Here is the code that I use in 'demo.html' to launch the iFrame: Head Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="/shadowbox/libraries/mediaplayer/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/shadowbox/shadowbox.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src='/shadowbox/libraries/mediaplayer/swfobject.js'></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function moveCloseLink(){ var cb=document.getElementById('sb-nav-close'); var tb=document.getElementById('sb-title'); if(tb) tb.appendChild(cb); } Shadowbox.init({ onOpen: moveCloseLink, flvPlayer: '/shadowbox/player.swf', language: 'en', players: ["flv","iframe"], flashParams: {allowfullscreen:'true'}, flashVars: { skin: '/shadowbox/modieus.swf', image: '/upload/demo-poster.jpg', autostart: true } }); </script> Body Code: <A HREF="/gallery/archive_iframe.html" rel="shadowbox;width=750;height=486" class="imgLink" title="Video Archive"><img src="gallery/videoarchive_thm.jpg" alt="Launch Video Archive (popup window)" width="260" height="162" border="0" /></A> What do I need to do in 'gallery/archive_iframe.html' if anything? My thought is that I need to wrap it in a DIV tag and find the width and height of that. And what do I need to do in 'demo.html'? I'd assume some code is needed to pull the dimensions discovered in my iframe document, and insert those into the link that launches Shadowbox. Consider me a JavaScript newbie! You're help is greatly appreciated!! Hello, I have a site that uses JS to swap images e.g. user clicks on a thumbnail and then the main image changes to show the thumb they've clicked on. So now I'd like that main image to link somewhere, and to change where it links to when the thumb is clicked on also. The link updates ok using my JS, but the shadowbox always loads the flash using the same image variable, not the new one my JS is specifying. Here's my code: Image in Source Code: Code: <div id="show_main_image"> <a href="http://www.mysite.co.uk/zoom/zoom.swf?image=http://www.mysite.co.uk/uploads/1234153173_original_1.jpg" rel="shadowbox;width=600;height=400" id="myAnchor"> <img src="../thumbnails/phpThumb.php?src=/home/sites/mysite.co.uk/public_html/uploads/1234153173_original_1.jpg&w=333&h=284" border="0" name="mainimage" alt="some alt"/></a> </div> Thumb in Source code: Code: <div id="thumbpics"> <p><a href="javascript:selectPicture('1234153173','1');"><img src="../thumbnails/phpThumb.php?src=/home/sites/mysite.co.uk/public_html/uploads/1234153173_thumb_1.jpg&w=50&h=50" border="0" class="thumbpic" alt="some alt"/></a> <a href="javascript:selectPicture('1234153173','2');"><img src="../thumbnails/phpThumb.php?src=/home/sites/mysite.co.uk/public_html/uploads/1234153173_thumb_2.jpg&w=50&h=50" border="0" class="thumbpic" alt="some alt2"/></a></p> </div> Javascript to change the main image: Code: function selectPicture(uniqueid,imgno) { var filenamepic = '../thumbnails/phpThumb.php?h=333&w=284&src=../uploads/' + uniqueid + '_original_' + imgno + '.jpg'; var linkurl = 'http://www.mysite.co.uk/zoom/zoom.swf?image=../thumbnails/phpThumb.php?h=333&w=284&src=../uploads/' + uniqueid + '_original_' + imgno + '.jpg'; document.getElementById('myAnchor').href=linkurl; document.mainimage.src=filenamepic; } So the document.mainimage.src bit works, as it updates the main image, the link is updated but the shawdowbox and Flash is always showing the image it is first sent when the page is loaded. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get round this? Thanks, Nicola I'm having trouble getting two password boxes to work on the same page, which I created using the JavaScript Kit Encrypted Password Generator (http://www.javascriptkit.com/epassword/index.htm). I've used the code that this generator produces, with some modifications as given by cheesebagpipe (http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=14646). These changes enable the user to press the keyboard's enter key to submit the password (as an alternative to clicking the submit button), and will also refocus the text box and select the text in it if the user enters the wrong password. The code works fine on pages with just one box (e.g. http://www.mistymusic.co.uk/StLuke's.html), but what changes are needed to make two work on the same page? (I'm new to web design and clueless when it comes to JavaScript, which I know isn't the most secure method of password protection, but will do for now). At the moment, on pages with two boxes (e.g. http://www.mistymusic.co.uk/BEAP.html), neither of the boxes work; this appears in the address bar instead: 'http://www.mistymusic.co.uk/BEAP.html?password2=help!' ('help!'=whatever has been entered in the text box). The full code for both boxes is given below. Code: <div id="passwordBoxes"> <div id="password2"> <form name="password1" onsubmit="submitentry();return false;"> <span class="WhiteLogin">Keyboard classes login</span> <input name="password2" type="password" class="AlignedFormBoxes" size="15" /> <input type="button" class="AlignedFormBoxes" value="Login" /> </form> </div> <div id="password1"> <form name="password1" onsubmit="submitentry();return false;"> <span class="WhiteLogin">Community Youth Choir login</span> <input name="password2" type="password" class="AlignedFormBoxes" size="15" /> <input type="button" class="AlignedFormBoxes" value="Login" /> </form> </div> </div> <script> var pass=new Array() var t3="" var lim=6 pass[0]="gc3Gu5uygvU8VDA" pass[1]="aNL6yjrU5AAKyy3" pass[2]="enSaX8glavp54H" pass[3]="WF3XUKEpbbMEx" pass[4]="8Pv7bsEqaIjNdb6b" pass[5]="35Pv7bsEqaIjNdb6" //configure extension to reflect the extension type of the target web page (ie: .htm or .html) var extension=".html" var enablelocking=0 var numletter="0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ" var temp3='' var cur=0 function max(which){ return (pass[Math.ceil(which)+(3&15)].substring(0,1)) } function testit(input){ temp=numletter.indexOf(input) var temp2=temp^parseInt(pass[phase1-1+(1|3)].substring(0,2)) temp2=numletter.substring(temp2,temp2+1) return (temp2) } function submitentry(){ t3='' verification=document.password1.password2.value phase1=Math.ceil(Math.random())-6+(2<<2) var indicate=true for (i=(1&2);i<window.max(Math.LOG10E);i++) t3+=testit(verification.charAt(i)) for (i=(1&2);i<lim;i++){ if (t3.charAt(i)!=pass[phase1+Math.round(Math.sin(Math.PI/2)-1)].charAt(i)) indicate=false } if (verification.length!=window.max(Math.LOG10E)) indicate=false if (indicate) window.location=verification+extension; else { alert("That wasn't the correct password. Ok, here's the page as it is right now: http://www.crackin.com/dev/index.php The paganation for the top 3 images is Sweet Pages: http://tutorialzine.com/2010/05/swee...tion-solution/ The content loading below is a page-replace script I got he http://css-tricks.com/dynamic-page-replacing-content/ And I'm also trying to integrate shadowbox (or lightbox, whichever will work) into the lower set of images. I have 2 problems right now I can't figure out, and I'm sure it somehow has to do with the fact I'm trying to mash 3 different JS addons into a single page, I'm still pretty new to this whole JS thing... First problem I'm having is that IE7 and Opera don't like the links in the upper images. Clicking a gallery image does not load the associated page below from those 2 browsers, however IE8 and FF seem to work fine. Second problem is getting shadowbox/lightbox to work on those lower images. I tried a couple different things but main thing I did is make sure the script is actually working by setting the header text to a link with shadowbox attached and that worked. That same link doesn't work when applied to the lower images (loads image in new window). Lightbox does the same thing. Thanks for any help. How would you make a password feild and a retype password feild and they have to be the same?
I have a password check on my join form but it looks ugly the idea is good but it is all unaligned and makes the form look bad. I know this is not very secure, but there is a problem with this and I am not sure how to go on. Code: <form> <input type="text" name="password"/> <input type="button" onclick="check()"/> </form> What is wrong with my javascript? Code: function check (){ if(password=="pass1"){ alert('Password is correct!') } } I am struggling trying to get this bit of code I've written to work. It should validate a password that is 10 characters long, starts with a D and includes 1 *. Even if I blank out two of the while statements and only use the charAt while statement it still fails to loop back. Any ideas? function validatePassword() { //declare and initialise variables var intCount = 0; var intCharCount = 7; var intAstrixCount =0; var strPassword = parseInt(prompt("Please enter password", "")); while (strPassword.length < intCount) { alert ("Your password must be at least 10 characters long"); strPassword = parseInt(prompt("Please enter password", "")); intCount++; } while (strPassword.charAt(0) != "a") { alert ("Your password does not start with a D"); strPassword = parseInt(prompt("Please enter password", "")); intCount++; } while (intAstrixCount != 1) { alert ("Your password does not contain an *"); strPassword = parseInt(prompt("Please enter password", "")); intCount++; } alert ("Your password is correct"); } I want to be able to put up files and assign passwords to individuals so that they can access one of those files but not all. In other words person A enters password & is redirected to file A; person B enters password & is redirected to file B, etc. Anyone have an example or know where I can get an example of a script like this? I am not a programmer so the simplier the better. Thanks
Hello! I'm doing an assignment that validates a password field, the password field should only contain numbers, however this code only verifies the first number input in the field, which means i need to check through every singel input in the field, so i got a little problem <script> function checkPassword(strng) { var text = strng.value; var regel = text.replace(/[\(\)\.\-\ ]/g, ''); if(isNaN(parseInt(text))) { window.alert("Fel, password is not a number:" + text); } } else { window.alert("correct e-mail and password!"); } } </script> I've been thinking about a for loop should fix the problem, but im new to javascript, some help would be appreciated! Hoping someone can help a simple soul!! I am trying to work out if there is a way that I can use a target url as a simple password (or even username) at a log in screen. Essentially I want to be able to send people to a different URL depending on their login details but without having to do anything too complicated or secure. Hoping someone can help Thanks in advance! I have a simple password protection setup on my site but the password is displayed when it is typed in is there a way to change it to a # or * when it is typed in

What basically is to be done in this project is to generate user password for the username randomly he has provided. Then, this password is to be stored in a text file in the following manner UserName Password ABCD JU12H6 Sdjksj HJudfdsfd Now my problem is that every time I just try to generate a new password, either a new file is made or the heading is rewritten again and again or if I just try to change the variables true and false, then the username and password headings are not printed. Please help. If someone knows how to do this using if-else method then please tell me, how it can be done? The code is attached. Code: <html> <HEAD> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> function GetSelectedItem() { chosen = ""; for (i = 0; i <3; i++) { if (document.myform.opt[i].checked) { chosen = document.myform.opt[i].value; } } if (chosen == "") { alert("Choose your password type") exit; } return chosen; } function getPassword(usnm,length,opti) { if(usnm=="") { alert("Enter user name"); exit; } var optsel=GetSelectedItem(); var num = "0123456789"; var alpha = "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ"; var alphanum = "0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ"; var pass = ""; if(length!=5 && length!=6 && length!=7 && length!=8 && length!=9 && length!=10) { alert("Enter password length between 5 and 10"); exit; } else { if (optsel==1) { for(x=0;x<length;x++) { i = Math.floor(Math.random() * 72); pass += alphanum.charAt(i); } } else if (optsel==2) { for(x=0;x<length;x++) { i = Math.floor(Math.random() * 10); pass += num.charAt(i); } } else if (optsel==3) { for(x=0;x<length;x++) { i = Math.floor(Math.random() * 52); pass += alpha.charAt(i); } } WriteToFile(usnm,pass); return pass; } } function WriteToFile(usnm,pass) { try { var fso1=new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject"); var pf1=fso1.OpenTextFile("Password.text",8); //if(pf=='false') //var fso=new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject"); //dspf=fso.OpenTextFile("Password.txt",8,true); //pf.WriteLine("Username\t\tPassword"); pf1.WriteLine(usnm+'\t\t'+pass); pf1.Close(); } catch(err) { var fso=new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject"); pf=fso.CreateTextFile("Password.txt",8,false); pf.WriteLine("Username\t\tPassword") pf.WriteLine(usnm+'\t\t\t'+pass); pf.Close(); } // fso= null; /* else { //var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject"); var s = fso.CreateTextFile("D:\\Password.txt", true); s.WriteLine('Username\t\tPassword'); //while(s.next()) s.WriteLine(usnm+'\t\t'+pass); s.Close(); }*/ /*var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject"); var s = fso.OpenTextFile("D:\\Password.txt",8, true); s.WriteLine('Username\t\tPassword'); //while(s.next()) s.WriteLine(usnm+'\t\t'+pass); s.Close();*/ } </script> </HEAD> <BODY> <center> <table width=80% border=0> <tr align=center> <td> <form name="myform"> <table border=0> <tr> <td> Enter Username: </td> <td> <input type=text name=userName value="" size=20> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Chooose Password type:</td> <td> <input type="radio" name="opt" value="1" >Alphanumeric <input type="radio" name="opt" value="2">Numeric <input type="radio" name="opt" value="3">Alphabetic </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </tr> <tr> <td> Password length: </td> <td> <input type=text name=passwordLength value="" size=2> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr align=center> <td> New password: <input type=text name=password size=20> <br> <input type=button value="Generate password" onClick="document.myform.password.value = getPassword(document.myform.userName.value,document.myform.passwordLength.value, document.myform.opt.checked);"> </form> </td> </tr> </table> </center> </html> I am fairly new to Javascript.
