I found this code in another thread... basically, I need to be able to display a certain image based on the page's title... for instance if the title is: Lotus 7, I need image lotus.jpg to display in an element on the page, however, if the title is Bodhi 9, I need image bodhi.jpg to display in the same element. Can someone help me implement this code? Code: var imgs = new Array(); imgs[0] = new Array(); imgs[0][0] = "Research"; imgs[0][1] = "bluetabs_01"; imgs[0][2] = "greentabs_01.gif"; imgs[1] = new Array(); imgs[1][0] = "Information" imgs[1][1] = "bluetabs_02"; imgs[1][2] = "greentabs_02.gif"; Code: var title = document.title; for (var i=0;i<imgs.length;i++){ if (title.indexOf(imgs[i][0])!=-1){ document.images[imgs[i][1]].src = imgs[i][2]; break; } } One my website its one index page, putting in content depending on the link (ie ?page=xxxxx) and from that it generats the page name, (Page name - MySite). Then when its empty revert to what ever it was before. Could someone gimmie a hand doing this? I already have the AJAX coding for the search bar so i can post that if iy would help more. This is working fine apart from the title of the new window being open. I am using the window.open function and I have set the title of the page using the document.write function (see code below). The code works fine for FF and IE but for some reason Google Chrome just displays 'Untitled - Google Chrome' Code: <body> <a href="javascript:openNewWindow();">Click Here</a> <script type="text/javascript"> function openNewWindow() { var pdfWindow = window.open('', "window", 'resizable=1,scrollbars=0,width=800,height=600'); pdfWindow.document.write('<html><head><title>Window Title</title></head>'); pdfWindow.document .write('<body><iframe src="" id="ifrm" name="ifrm" width="100%" height="100%"></iframe>'); pdfWindow.document.write('</body></html>'); pdfWindow.document.close(); } </script> </body> Note: I have also tried adding - pdfWindow.document.title="Title"; - to the JavaScript, with no luck. Is there anything specific that is required for Chrome or am I just missing something?? Thanks in advance for any help! I have a very simple page that has one iframe on it. What I would like to accomplish is having Javascript read the contents of the iframe and write it to the page. I have tried numerous coding samples found all over the web but nothing seems to work for me as I am a major Javascript noob. The iFrame will include content like the following which will be from an outside web server; Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?><response><results><![CDATA[Success]]></results></response> Thanks a lot in advance! I have a php file lets say file1.php, that printing a variable, its dynamic numbers output that already always increasing, like private message numbers that coming or others : PHP Code: <?php echo $variable ?> i want to put that variable output, in another files page title, lets say file2.php or file3.html, in the front of the another files page titles, and auto refresh every x seconds, maybe like this : Quote: (1) - another text in the page title after x seconds, get a private message Quote: (2) - another text in the page title after another x seconds, get another private message Quote: (3) - another text in the page title or its ok if just like this, only the variable, without the another text in the page title Quote: (1) please share your knowledge to make it, maybe using javascript, jquery or others This page: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/kayseyc...document2.html seems to indicate that it's possible, but it looks like it also pops up an alert window which would be annoying as hell. Is there a way to, say, once every minute change the title bar text? You see I have a text file of rotating slogans that appear each time you reload a page on my site and someone suggested that having them change even when the page is already open might be fun. I thought I'd look into it and see if it's possible. The site is http://opalcat.com. I don't know enough about javascript to know if this is possible. I am fairly good at implementing and installing other people's code, though, and can usually make minor changes to tweak things. Please let me know if this is a doable thing, and if so, if you'd be willing to help me work it out. Thanks in advance, OpalCat Can anyone help me with a little project I'm been lumbered with? I've been given the task of building a carbon offset calculator What I need to do is have a webpage on a touchscreen kiosk that allows a visitor to the client enter their name/company/email address, plus select how they travelled to the premises and their departing post code. When they submit the form, I need it to email the details to the client so they can produce a nice little certificate saying how many trees have been planted to offset the visitors journey - but I also need it to display the details on screen before resetting itself for the next Prius driving visitor to use. I've got to the stage where I can EITHER capture all the details needed and email them OR capture all the details needed and calculate the distance travelled, KGs of CO2 expended and how many trees are needed and display them. I'm having difficulty getting it to do both! Thanks in advance! I am looking to use a similar method as facebook chat does, where it alternates between the original title text and 'friendsName has sent you a message!...' how can I do this ? Hi, I am Aditya. I am explaining below the exact scenario where I need the help: I am developing a web application in which I need to integrate a javascript/html editor on some of the web pages and then provide 'Edit' buttons on those web pages so that users can edit the content on that partciular html/jsp page (like editing in wiki pages) and then, when they add some content and click on submit button, the new content should appear on the web page with all the formatting (i.e. bold, italics, color and so on) which was applied by user when he was entering the text. Now, I need help for the below issues: 1. Please suggest me a good javascript/html editor (freely downloadable) which I can use to integrate with my web pages. 2. Once the user has entered some content using the above javascript editor, how to make that content reach the server and update the corresponding web page. I am new to web development, so may be that these questions are too simple. But, I need some help from you. Waiting for your reply, Thanks, Aditya Hi All, Im new to this forum...need some of your help and advice. I have a js code like this : <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var sipPos = 0; $(document).ready(function() { $("#panel-tab").click(function(e) { //if(autoTimer) clearTimeout(autoTimer); //autoTimer = null; e.preventDefault(); $("#panel").animate({ left: sipPos }, 1764, 'linear', function() { if(sipPos == 0) { sipPos = -856; } else { sipPos = 0; } }); }); }); --> </script> what it does is that it hide and show a panel by slidint it to the left. But my client want that on page load the panel opens automatically for about 2-3 seconds just to let users know that its here. So ive written this : <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var sipPos = 0; $(document).ready(function() { var autoTimer = null; autoTimer = setTimeout(function(){ $("#panel").animate({ left: sipPos }); autoTimer = setTimeout(function(){ $("#panel").animate({ left: sipPos = -856 }); }, 2000); },1000); $("#panel-tab").click(function(e) { //if(autoTimer) clearTimeout(autoTimer); //autoTimer = null; e.preventDefault(); $("#panel").animate({ left: sipPos }, 1764, 'linear', function() { if(sipPos == 0) { sipPos = -856; } else { sipPos = 0; } }); }); }); --> </script> But when the panel finished showing the button to open it again doesn't work...any help please..really urgent. thks //Sam Hi there! I am using GlassBox "http://www.glassbox-js.com/" As a light box on a website. Basically, You click an thumbnail image, and a window pops up with a larger version of that image. Now originally, the window opened X number of pixels from the top of the page. However, My thumbnail images were located mid page, so when you clicked on one, the window would open at the top of the page and the user would not see it unless they scrolled up. So I attempted to modify the script so that it would get the users page width/height and display it directly in the center no matter the position. Now my problem is that the script only works when the user has already scrolled down. So if the page is scrolled all the way to the top, and you click on a thumbnail, the window will not open center screen. Here is an example: http://synaxis.pcriot.com/ When the page loads, DO NOT scroll it, and click on the image. You will see the window pop up, and not centered, like it should be. However, now if you scroll down, and click the image again, you see that it is now centered. I also noticed that when the page is scrolled up, and the image does not center, it always is placed below the thumbnail image, or otherwise where ever the DIV is located. It normally located under the image, but if i place the DIV at the top of the page then the window will pop up there. And this does happen on every browser that I have tested, Firefox, IE, and Chrome. So, I am pretty much stumped as to why this is happening. If anyone can shed some light I would be very grateful. Thank You Here is a link to the original code: http://synaxis.pcriot.com/javascript...ox/glassbox.js And modified code: http://synaxis.pcriot.com/javascript...ox/glassbox.js The modified code is at the very bottom of the script. Original Code: Code: /** * @public */ if ( typeof($) == 'undefined' ) { $ = function (id) { return document.getElementById(id); } } Modified Code Code: /** * @private */ var removeElement = function(id) { var Node = document.getElementById(id); Node.parentNode.removeChild(Node); } /** * @private */ var getDocHeight = function() { var db = document.body; var ddE = document.documentElement; return Math.max( db.scrollHeight, db.offsetHeight, db.clientHeight, ddE.scrollHeight, ddE.offsetHeight, ddE.clientHeight ); } /** * @public */ if ( typeof($) == 'undefined' ) { $ = function (id) { return document.getElementById(id); } } Hi, I am setting up an email form & i would like the subject field to hold multiple values, the forrm will be something like this: Name:Mr A Date: 01/01/01 Reason:Football I want the form to send an email without opening an email client & I would like the subject field to look like this: Subject: Mr A, 01/01/01, Football or Subject Mr A - 01/01/01 - Football Can anyone tell me if this is possible, if if is can you please point me in the right direction.
