JavaScript - Changing Pagination With An Input Box
Hi,
I have a table with a list of items which currently show 8 items per page. I want to have an input box at the top of the page so if I want a different amount of items to be shown i enter the number and the page alters the pagination to what ever number is entered. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help Similar TutorialsI'm building a template editor and need some help changing some of the variables. Part 1. Only at DEALERNAME. Must present coupon at time of write-up. Cannot be combined with any other offer. 1 coupon per customer per transaction. Expires: 00/00/00.s I need to be able to fill out two fields to change DEALERNAME and 00/00/00. I found a way to do this but it required the output to be in a field. I need it the output to look no different than before. Part 2. I'm using this to change some text via radio button but I would like an option to select how many details are there is the first place. Say they only want 1 or 2 details and not 3. Head Code: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function detail1a(){ document.getElementById("detail1").innerHTML = "Up to 5 Quarts"; } function detail1b(){ document.getElementById("detail1").innerHTML = "Synthetic Oil Extra"; } function detail1c(){ document.getElementById("detail1").innerHTML = "Lube Chassis"; } function detail2a(){ document.getElementById("detail2").innerHTML = "Up to 5 Quarts"; } function detail2b(){ document.getElementById("detail2").innerHTML = "Synthetic Oil Extra"; } function detail2c(){ document.getElementById("detail2").innerHTML = "Lube Chassis"; } function detail3a(){ document.getElementById("detail3").innerHTML = "Up to 5 Quarts"; } function detail3b(){ document.getElementById("detail3").innerHTML = "Synthetic Oil Extra"; } function detail3c(){ document.getElementById("detail3").innerHTML = "Lube Chassis"; } </script> Body Code: <span style="font-weight: bold;">Offer Details</span><br /> <p style="margin: 8px 10px"> Detail 1<br /> <input type="radio" name="on/off" onclick="detail1a();" />Up to 5 quarts<br /> <input type="radio" name="on/off" onclick="detail1b();" />Synthetic Oil Extra<br /> <input type="radio" name="on/off" onclick="detail1c();" />Lube Chassis<br /> </p> <p style="margin: 8px 10px"> Detail 2<br /> <input type="radio" name="on/off" onclick="detail2a();" />Up to 5 quarts<br /> <input type="radio" name="on/off" onclick="detail2b();" />Synthetic Oil Extra<br /> <input type="radio" name="on/off" onclick="detail2c();" />Lube Chassis<br /> </p> <p style="margin: 8px 10px"> Detail 3<br /> <input type="radio" name="on/off" onclick="detail3a();" />Up to 5 quarts<br /> <input type="radio" name="on/off" onclick="detail3b();" />Synthetic Oil Extra<br /> <input type="radio" name="on/off" onclick="detail3c();" />Lube Chassis<br /> </p> Output Code: <ul> <li><span id="detail1">Detail 1</span></li> <li><span id="detail2">Detail 2</span></li> <li><span id="detail3">Detail 3</span></li> </ul> I have now go an applet from http://castleamber.com/amberticker.html, I have contacted the publisher and asked whether ther is a way to add line/streaming text from a textarea into he applet at runtime, however they are not responding as yet. If possible could someone tell me how I would use a repaint() case statement in this applet in order to get the value of the textarea to reflect in the ticker. Any code I do use will have all compliments to the creators and those who have helped along the way. Thank you I am looking for an input text that links to a iframe. . ? To begin, we need some simple HTML elements: A basic form; An Input text that will contain the URLs we want to use; An iFrame that will display the page we select from the input text. Thanks in advance Stickers Yeah that was a loooong title. Hopefully it's clear enough Right now, my div changes opacity if it's moused over qua the following code: Code: style="opacity:0.3;filter:alpha(opacity=30)" onmouseover="this.style.opacity=1;this.filters.alpha.opacity=100" onmouseout="this.style.opacity=0.3;this.filters.alpha.opacity=30 but this isn't quite optimal, cause if the user mouses out, it changes back to fade, and the user can't quite see what he's entering. So I would like the div to have opacity=1 when one of the textfields in it is active and opacity=0 when it's not. Is there a way to do that? //deafdigit I have a problem with adding new inputs to a form (if and when required), Internet Explorer is fine but in Firefox if any previous input fields are filled when the more button is clicked they get reset to blank. JS: Code: fields = 0; function addInput() { if (fields != 100) { document.getElementById('input').innerHTML += "<input type='text' name='input[]' size='30' />"; fields += 1; } else { document.getElementById('input').innerHTML += "<br />Maximum 100 fields allowed."; document.form.add.disabled=true;} } form: Code: <form action="index.php" method="post"> <div id="input"> <input type="text" name="input[]" size="30" maxlength="15" /> </div> <!-- button --> <div id="more"> <input type="button" onclick="addInput()" name="add" value="More" /> </div> <!-- // button --> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> as usual any help is appretiated .. I am thinking this should be fairly easy but yet I am not getting far. I want to have a form with a single text imput field for a zip code. Depending on which zip code the user enters will determine which url they will be sent to. If they enter a zip code which is not in the script, they would be sent to a default url. I am also assuming this can be accomplished with javascript. Any help is greatly appreciated. Hi, i want to set an input value to the same value as the input selected from another input on the same form so when the user selects input 1 i want the hidden input2 to get the same value im guessing i use onsubmit because its hidden so there wont be a focus or blur this would be part of the input Code: onsubmit="(this.value = this.othervalue)" othervalue being the other input name="othervalue" is that the correct syntax I need help with pagination setup for my javascript image display. The images I have now display when I select a certain category dynamically but I don't know how to implement javascript pagination into this code. I also don't know how to call it in my display page so that the images appear in a box and has separation in between them cause right now the images all display but connected to one another. I am new to javascript and the coding world so I really hope someone can help me out cause I've been trying to figure out how for the past 2 weeks now. Right now I have the code: Code: <div id="ImageContainer"></div> <br /> <script type="text/javascript"><!-- function ShowGallery() { // get parent for image container and remove image container var parentcontainer = document.getElementById("ImageContainer").parentNode; parentcontainer.removeChild(document.getElementById("ImageContainer")); // get current image gallery information from dropdown var dropdown = document.getElementById("catDropDown"); var selectedoption = dropdown.getElementsByTagName("option")[dropdown.selectedIndex]; var count = parseInt(selectedoption.getAttribute("Count")); // if there are not images in the category, return - "select a category" falls into this case as well if(count<=0) return; // populate images in image elements var container = document.createElement("div"); container.setAttribute("id","ImageContainer"); for(var i=0;i<count;i++) { var img=document.createElement("img"); img.setAttribute("src","images/th/thumb_"+dropdown.value+(i<9?"0":"")+(i+1)+".jpg"); img.setAttribute("alt","images/th/thumb_"+dropdown.value+(i<9?"0":"")+(i+1)+".jpg"); container.appendChild(img); } // Insert new image container back with new contents parentcontainer.appendChild(container); } Hi. does anyone know how websites like www.fmylife.com or mylifeisaverage.com do their pagination? Do they just store all the posts in a database and then call them out? I'm asking this because I am wondering how I should paginate. Thanks
Hi, I have been playing with Slidersjs and have it sliding through my images just fine, however the previous/next and slide identifiers below the images don't seem to work and I can't see how to make them active. The temp link is he http://mono-zine.com/Mono.LogDM.html and the slide is the second one down. The identifiers should be clickable to take you to a specific slide, whilst they do change they dont click. Any help gratefully received. Code: <div id="navwrapper"></div> so, to make the navigation, i found a script online and tried to adapt it to the div, i got this: Code: $(document).ready(function(){ //how much items per page to show var show_per_page = 5; //getting the amount of elements inside content div . var number_of_items = $('#wall').children().size(); //calculate the number of pages we are going to have var number_of_pages = Math.ceil(number_of_items/show_per_page); //set the value of our hidden input fields $('#current_page').val(0); $('#show_per_page').val(show_per_page); //navigation ' var navigation_html = '<a class="previous_link" href="javascript:previous();">Prev</a>'; var current_link = 0; while(number_of_pages > current_link){ navigation_html += '<a class="page_link" href="javascript:go_to_page(' + current_link +')" longdesc="' + current_link +'">'+ (current_link + 1) +'</a>'; current_link++; } navigation_html += '<a class="next_link" href="javascript:next();">Next</a>'; $('#navwrapper').html(navigation_html); //add active_page class to the first page link $('#navwrapper .page_link:first').addClass('active_page'); //hide all the elements inside content div $('#wall').children().css('display', 'none'); //and show the first n (show_per_page) elements $('#wall').children().slice(0, show_per_page).css('display', 'block'); }); function previous(){ new_page = parseInt($('#current_page').val()) - 1; //if there is an item before the current active link run the function if($('.active_page').prev('.page_link').length==true){ go_to_page(new_page); } } function next(){ new_page = parseInt($('#current_page').val()) + 1; //if there is an item after the current active link run the function if($('.active_page').next('.page_link').length==true){ go_to_page(new_page); } } function go_to_page(page_num){ //get the number of items shown per page var show_per_page = parseInt($('#show_per_page').val()); //get the element number where to start the slice from start_from = page_num * show_per_page; //get the element number where to end the slice end_on = start_from + show_per_page; //hide all children elements of content div, get specific items and show them $('#wall').children().css('display', 'none').slice(start_from, end_on).css('display', 'block'); /*get the page link that has longdesc attribute of the current page and add active_page class to it and remove that class from previously active page link*/ $('.page_link[longdesc=' + page_num +']').addClass('active_page').siblings('.active_page').removeClass('active_page'); //update the current page input field $('#current_page').val(page_num); } but all looks cool but... it is actually not working... everything its being posted great to the unsorted listt, but its not paging =S. .. it just all shows on the div, and scrolls. Could it be somethign on the css? ... or... what ...? =| Guidance? =( . my brains toasted. =\ I'm having a slight problem with php pagination and jquery/js. On the following page http://dev2.bluemuledesign.com/athletes.php you'll see an "athlete profile" area. Whenever an athlete photo is selected, javascript/php are used to switch out the athlete info. This works perfectly fine. The problem occurs if I use the left or right arrows to view more athletes (the left and right arrows are set with php pagination to switch to the next four records in the database). Whenever I do this, the athlete info defaults back to the first person from the initial load. Also, the javascript/jquery quits working and won't let me view the info for one of the newly displayed athletes. So I have two questions: 1) Can anyone tell me why it defaults back to the original athlete info? I'm assuming it has something to do with me not setting a cookie to remember the currently selected athlete. 2) Why does the javascript quit working when I view the next set of athletes? Also, the jquery slideshow that I am implementing is an alteration of this: http://designm.ag/tutorials/image-rotator-css-jquery/ Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to create a type of virtual pagination that's simple, semantic, and SEO friendly. The concept is like this website: www.doner.com In the bottom right hand corner, if you select a city, different contact information appears. My theory is to assign a class name to the hyperlink, then have a DIV with a matching ID. For example... Code: <a href="#" class="michigan">Michigan</a> <a href="#" class="ohio">Ohio</a> <a href="#" class="illinois">Illinois</a> <div id="michigan"> Michigan container </div> <div id="ohio"> Ohio container </div> <div id="illinois"> Illinois container </div> The JavaScript I have written so far is... Code: var anchor = document.getElementsByTagName('a').className; // grab all hyperlinks and their classes var div = document.getElementsByTagName('div').getElementByID; // grab all divs and their IDs if (anchor = div) { // check to see if a hyperlink's class has a matching div ID div.style.display = "none"; if (anchor.onclick) { // if the hyperlink is clicked... div.style.display = "visible"; // make matching div ID visible } } Nothing works yet, and I don't know where to continue. The DIVs aren't even hidden upon loading. Can anyone help me? Hi, i have an input value array for customer ids, i also need to make a copy of that array into another input element on submit to use for another process. So far here is what i have come up with regarding the js the current html is this Code: <!-- original input --> <input id="cb<?php echo $i;?>" name="cid[]" value="<?php echo $commissions[$i]['id'];?>" onclick="isChecked(this.checked);" type="checkbox" /> <!-- this is new html input which is outside the $i loop that i need a copy of cid[] stored on submit <input type="hidden" name="ids[]" onsubmit="valueTovalue();" /> <!-- here is the js so far --> <script type="text/javascript"> function valueTovalue() { var valin = document.adminForm.cid.value; //cid is the array cid[] document.adminForm.ids.value = valin; //copy the array to the new input element array ids } </script> so basically if they click 1 cid then ids will also show 1, if they click all cid then ids will show all as well. will that work the way i have it, am i even close here.. thanks update: what i have seems to work fine for text values or string values but not for arrays, what am i missing that it wont copy an array? Array ( [cid] => Array ( [0] => 1 ) [task] => remarksonly [remark] => hhhyyy [boxchecked] => 1 [ids] => Array ( [0] => ) ) am i getting closer lol Code: function valueTovalue() { var valin = cid.concat; document.adminForm.ids.value = valin.concat; return(true); this has to be close i hope Code: document.adminForm.ids.value = [].concat(document.adminForm.cid); Hi all can someone guide me (total JS newbie) on this presumably pretty easy task? I have a "parent" page with some text inputs in it (a form). This is what I am after: -when the user clicks a link it pops open a new window via JS - "child" (this is working). -in the "child" window there are also some text inputs (another form) (done). -when the user changes the value for 'testChild_textInput_4' in the child window, then I want it to automatically set this same value, to effectively overwrite, what is currently in 'testParent_textInput_2' in the parent window. Presumably this involves an onChange event, but it is also OK with me if the needful (the text input's value in the parent window being overwritten) happens upon the child window's form submit. If anyone can show me either trick, I would be thrilled! I set up a test page to make this all easy to talk about: http://www.yellow-turtle.com/testDumpMe_parent.html Please let me know! Thanks! -John Code: <img src = "/images/boats/large/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" width = "690" height = "350" id = "main_image" /> <div id = "gallery_thumbs"> <img src = "/images/nav_left.png" alt = "Back" id = "nav_back" /> <div id = "inner_thumbs"> <div style="width:10000px" id="sliding_thumbs"> <a href = "/images/boats/large/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" onclick = "document.getElementById('main_image').src=this.href;return false;" ><img src = "/images/boats/gallery_thumbs/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" /></a> <a href = "/images/boats/large/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" onclick = "document.getElementById('main_image').src=this.href;return false;" ><img src = "/images/boats/gallery_thumbs/my-red-pepper---8019712411a.jpg" /></a> <a href = "/images/boats/large/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" onclick = "document.getElementById('main_image').src=this.href;return false;" ><img src = "/images/boats/gallery_thumbs/my-red-pepper---8019412411a.jpg" /></a> <a href = "/images/boats/large/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" onclick = "document.getElementById('main_image').src=this.href;return false;" ><img src = "/images/boats/gallery_thumbs/my-red-pepper---8019312411a.jpg" /></a> <a href = "/images/boats/large/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" onclick = "document.getElementById('main_image').src=this.href;return false;" ><img src = "/images/boats/gallery_thumbs/my-red-pepper---8019212411a.jpg" /></a> <a href = "/images/boats/large/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" onclick = "document.getElementById('main_image').src=this.href;return false;" ><img src = "/images/boats/gallery_thumbs/my-red-pepper---8019512411a.jpg" /></a> <a href = "/images/boats/large/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" onclick = "document.getElementById('main_image').src=this.href;return false;" ><img src = "/images/boats/gallery_thumbs/my-red-pepper---8019612411a.jpg" /></a> <a href = "/images/boats/large/my-red-pepper---8019812411a.jpg" onclick = "document.getElementById('main_image').src=this.href;return false;" ><img src = "/images/boats/gallery_thumbs/big_my-red-pepper---12411-main.jpg" /></a> </div> </div> Why isn't this working? document.getElementById('main_image').src=this.href;return false; I originally had this: Code: $('#sliding_thumbs a').click(function() { $('#main_image').attr('src',this.href); return false; }) but that didn't work so I put the onclick inline and it still isn't working but I can't fathom why. I have confirmed that the #main_image is being detected correctly (by alerting the src) and that the this.href part contains the url of an image but nothing happens. There is no error and the large image doesn't load in the same window (so the return false part is working!) I have this script where people can pick a price and pick quataty. i want it to be only one price and let the person input quatity them selves, how can this be done?
