JavaScript - Display Type Change Not Working
this is really starting to irritate me, and I can't figure it out.
Here is the Javascript: Code: function shipUPS(str){ var divShip=document.getElementById("deliv2"); if(str=="ups"){ if (divShip.style.display=="none") { divShip.style.display = '';} } else { if (divShip.style.display!="none") { divShip.style.display = "none";} } } CSS: Code: #deliv2 { display: none; } and the HTML: Code: <div id="deliv1">Deliver To: <select name="DelivToCust" tabindex="10" onchange="shipUPS(this.value)"> <option value="cust">Customer</option> <option value="sr">Sales Rep</option> <option value="pick">Pick-Up</option> <option value="ups">Ship UPS</option> <option value="Other">Other</option> </select> </div> <div id="deliv2">Bill for Shipping? </div> as written, it doesn't work. If I change the CSS to: Code: #deliv2 { display: ; } It works beautifully! however I want the DIV hidden from the start. could someone please help me figure this out? Thank you! Similar TutorialsI need to change input type="text" to input type="password" via JavaScript Code: <form id="login" action="#" method="post"> <input id="username-field" type="text" name="username" title="Username" onmousedown="javascript:this.value=''; javascript:this.focus();" value="Username" tabindex="1" /> <input id="password-field" type="text" name="password" title="Password" onmousedown="javascript:this.value=''; javascript:this.type='password'; javascript:this.focus();" value="Password" tabindex="2" /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="sign in" tabindex="3" /> </form> This works in Firefox and Safari but not IE So then I tried this code Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function passit(ip){ var np=ip.cloneNode(true); np.type='password'; if(np.value!=ip.value) np.value=ip.value; ip.parentNode.replaceChild(np,ip); } </script> <form id="login" action="#" method="post"> <input id="username-field" type="text" name="username" title="Username" onmousedown="javascript:this.value=''; javascript:this.focus();" value="Username" tabindex="1" /> <input id="password-field" type="text" name="password" title="Password" onmousedown="javascript:this.value=''; passit(this.form[0]); javascript:this.focus();" value="Password" tabindex="2" /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="sign in" tabindex="3" /> </form> This does what I need but turns the username type to password field not the password box Please can somone help! Low Tech Hi, I am effectively using this script to grab elements based on a select from the db: http://www.w3schools.com/PHP/php_ajax_database.asp My question is, how can I, instead of changing what's present on the page, change the display value to "none", so the elements that are being gathered can be re-submitted to the form? Thanks Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function showUser(str) { if (str=="") { document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML=""; return; } if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200) { document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; } } xmlhttp.open("GET","getuser.php?q="+str,true); xmlhttp.send(); } </script> I am new to JavaScript and I am having a difficult time finding what I thought would be easy to find (so please forgive me if this has been posted somewhere else...) I have 4 text strings that when a user runs his/her mouseOver, I'd like to display a corresponding picture in a display area. I thought that would be easy enough. However, it gets a bit complicated for me since I am also using CSS to position the display area. For some reason all I can find out there are examples using HTML tables for display image positioning. I don't want to use tables. I'm not sure if this will make a difference but my style sheet is external. Also, the text does not link/go to another page. I REALLY hope that made sense. Someone please help me! Hi guys, I've been breaking my brains for few hours, I already searched online and I found nothing so far. What I wanna do.... I have 5 different images linked to 5 different websites. Once the image is clicked, the first link will be displayed in an iframe, and the image will change to the second one. Once we click on the second image, the second link will be displayed using the same iframe, and so on. The code changes the images,but I dunno how to deal with the link to the websites. This is the code: Code: <html> <head> <title>Testing...</title> </head> <script type="text/javascript"> imgs=Array("1.png","2.png","3.png","4.png","5.png"); links=Array("www.vbct.ca","www.cnn.com","www.castanet.net","www.yahoo.com","www.cubaweb.cu"); var x=0; function change() { document.getElementById("changes").src=imgs[++x]; if (x==4) { x=-1; } } if (!imgs[x+1]) { x=-1; } </script> <body> <div> <iframe src="http://www.vbct.ca" style="border: 0; position:relative; top:0; left:0; right:0; bottom:0; width:100%; height:400px;" name="page" width="100%"></iframe> </div> <br /><br /> <div> <a href="#" target="page"><img src="1.png" id="changes" alt="alttext" onmousedown="change()" style="cursor: pointer;" /></a> </div> </body> </html> And this is the link to the test page: http://www.virtualbc.ca/sites/test/ Hey guys I've been trying to get this script working to change a couple attributes in the CSS but it hasn't been working. It's supposed to change the left and right margins of the #content tag if the resolution is greater that 1024x768. The text doesn't seem to want to stay in the center. Heres the code: Code: <!-- if (screen.width > 1024) { ChangeCSS('#content','marginLeft','28%'); ChangeCSS('#content','marginRight','29%'); } //--> Heres the CSS: Code: #content { margin-bottom:0; margin-top:0; margin-left:24%; margin-right:27%; position: absolute; width: 38em; } The CSS code is all inline because this is a tumblr and I don't have a place to host style sheets. Specifically, when Presented_to_Goverment_EntityCheckbox0 is checked, these fields should appear. Code: DropDownList ID="GovEntity" Officials_Last_NameTextBox0 Officials_First_NameTextBox0 Officials_TitleTextBox0 I created two different styles, show below; one makes the fields visible and one hides them Code: <style type="text/css"> .hideit { visibility: hidden; overflow: hidden; position: absolute; } .showit { visibility: visible; overflow: visible; position: static; } </style> Then I surrounded the fields with a div ID'ed as wdiv Code: <div class="hideit" id="wdiv"> Type Government Entity: <asp:TextBox ID="Type_Government_EntityTextBox" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Type_Government_Entity") %>' /> <br /> Officials Last Name: <asp:TextBox ID="Officials_Last_NameTextBox" runat="server" style="display:none" Text='<%# Bind("Officials_Last_Name") %>' /> <br /> Officials_First_Name: <asp:TextBox ID="Officials_First_NameTextBox" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Officials_First_Name") %>' /> <br /> Officials_Title: <asp:TextBox ID="Officials_TitleTextBox" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Officials_Title") %>' /> <br /> </div> I am using the following javascript to change the styles in response to an onclick event. However in IE it only works properly in the .aspx pages. So, I'm using a lot of js and I needed to find a work around to get it all working together, so I'm using InsertContent and RemoveContent to control several divs that I have. In this case it is 4 divs, but in other situations I'll have up to 10. My problem is that when the user starts with the first div displayed, the other 3 swap just fine, however, when clicking through the set of links, once the user gets to the 3rd link that is supposed to swap out the divs all the divs show up except the first, and the same happens on the fourth link. This is my js for the div swap functionality: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function InsertContent(tid) { if(document.getElementById(tid).style.display == "none") { document.getElementById(tid).style.display = ""; } else { document.getElementById(tid).style.display = "none"; } } function RemoveContent(tid) { if(document.getElementById(tid).style.display == "") { document.getElementById(tid).style.display = "none"; } else { document.getElementById(tid).style.display = ""; } } //--> </script> These are the html links: Code: <div class="listimg"><a href="javascript:RemoveContent('view2','view3','view4'); InsertContent('view1'); swapimg(0); " ><img src="../assets/images/nokia/nokia01_thumb.jpg" id="item0" alt="" style="opacity:.99;" /></a></div> <div class="listimg"><a href="javascript:RemoveContent('view1','view3','view4'); InsertContent('view2'); swapimg(1); "><img src="../assets/images/nokia/nokia02_thumb.jpg" id="item1" alt="" /></a></div> <div class="listimg"><a href="javascript:RemoveContent('view1','view2','view4'); InsertContent('view3'); swapimg(2);"><img src="../assets/images/nokia/nokia03_thumb.jpg" id="item2" alt=""/></a></div> <div class="listimg"><a href="javascript:RemoveContent('view1','view2','view3'); InsertContent('view4'); swapimg(3);"><img src="../assets/images/nokia/nokia04_thumb.jpg" id="item3" alt=""/></a></div> And these are the divs that are being removed and added: Code: <div id="view1" style="display: " > <a href="../assets/images/nokia/nokia01_big.jpg" class="thickbox" title="Windowcling" rel="gallery-art" >view larger1</a> </div> <div id="view2" style="display:none" > <a href="../assets/images/nokia/nokia02_big.jpg" class="thickbox" title="Windowcling2" rel="gallery-art2" >view larger2</a> </div> <div id="view3" style="display:none" > <a href="../assets/images/nokia/nokia03_big.jpg" class="thickbox" title="Windowcling3" rel="gallery-art3" >view larger3</a> </div> <div id="view4" style="display:none" > <a href="../assets/images/nokia/nokia04_big.jpg" class="thickbox" title="Windowcling2" rel="gallery-art4" >view larger4</a> </div> Any help would be greatly appreciated.
