JavaScript - Event Caledar (evtcal) Date Formats
I have just implemented the Event Calendar (located at http://javascriptkit.com/script/scri...calendar.shtml) on my website with only 1 issue : the date format has to be changed from mm/dd/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy.
I have been searching for the coding in the html and js file to amend this to no avail.\ Can someone point me in the right direction ? Similar TutorialsHi, I've inherited a Form which calculates a future date based on a calculation and then inserts today's date and the future date into a database. The day part of the date is formatted as a number. This is fine, but up to 9 the numbers display in single figures with no leading zeros. I want them to display leading zeros (e.g. 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11... 30, 31) So; 1/12/2010 is NOT wanted 01/12/2010 IS wanted The inherited code originally set the Month names as "Jan", "Feb" etc, and it was easy to kludge these to 01, 02... 12, but I suspect there's a more elgant solution to this as well, this bit of the code works so it's not as vital to neaten this but my database needs dd/mm/yyyy format (it's a third party email program). Code: </script> <script type="text/javascript"> var todaysDate = new Date(); function updateExpiryDate(){ var weeklyMileage = document.getElementById('AvWeeklyMileage').value; var expiryDate; var weeks = 0; var expiryDateString = ''; if (!isNaN(parseInt(weeklyMileage))){ weeks = 700/weeklyMileage; expiryDate = new Date(todaysDate.getTime() + (1000 * 3600 * 24 * 7 * weeks)); var expiryDateString = expiryDate.getDate() + '/' + getMonthString(expiryDate.getMonth()+1) + '/' + expiryDate.getFullYear(); document.getElementById('expiryDate').innerHTML = expiryDateString; document.getElementById('ShoeExpiryDate').value = expiryDateString; } else { document.getElementById('ShoeExpiryDate').value = ''; document.getElementById('expiryDate').innerHTML = 'Please enter a valid weekly average mileage' } } function getMonthString(monthNumber){ var monthString = ""; switch(monthNumber){ case 1: monthString = "01"; break; case 2: monthString = "02"; break; case 3: monthString = "03"; break; case 4: monthString = "04"; break; case 5: monthString = "05"; break; case 6: monthString = "06"; break; case 7: monthString = "07"; break; case 8: monthString = "08"; break; case 9: monthString = "09"; break; case 10: monthString = "10"; break; case 11: monthString = "11"; break; case 12: monthString = "12"; break; default: // do nothing; } return monthString; } function setTodaysDate(){ var todaysDateString = todaysDate.getDate() + '/' + getMonthString(todaysDate.getMonth()+1) + '/' + todaysDate.getFullYear(); document.getElementById('todaysDate').innerHTML =todaysDateString; document.getElementById('DateOfPurchase').value = todaysDateString; } Can someone point me in the right direction please? I would like to use Javascript to format a UK telephone number to this layout: 00000 000000, preferably as the user enters it in the form. I am using Actinic's ecommerce system, and have already used the code in this link to format the postcode. http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=45487 I have found the code here http://javascript.internet.com/forms...ne-number.html but it is for American telephone formats, and seems far too complicated! Has anyone come across any code that will do this for UK phone numbers? It would need to remove all white space, and then insert a space after 5 numbers. I am not bothered about validation checks etc. Thanks for your help Hi forum, I am trying to attach an event to a dynamically produced button, and then use stopPropagation and preventDefault. Code: function chapter12_nodeOne() { //create an element var element = document.createElement('input'); //set some attributes element.setAttribute('type', 'button'); element.setAttribute('value', 'submit'); element.setAttribute('id', 'myBtn'); //appendd the element into a DIV document.getElementById('myDiv').appendChild(element); //uses EventUtil to attach an event listener EventUtil.addHandler(element, 'click', function() { alert('event attached'); }); var flag = confirm('prevent default behavior of button?'); if (flag) { var el = document.getElementById('myBtn');/////////////////////////(1) var ev = el.onclick; } } var EventUtil = { addHandler: function(element, type, handler) { //check if the element and the browser support DOM Level 2 event attachment //if the user is not browsing with IE if (element.addEventListener) { element.addEventListener(type, handler, false); } //if user is browsing with IE else if (element.attachEvent) { element.attachEvent("on" + type, handler); } //if user is using a browser that only supports DOM Level 0 event attachment else { element["on" + type] = handler; } }, removeHandler: function(element, type, handler) { //check if the element and the browser support DOM Level 2 event attachment //if the user is not browsing with IE if (element.removeEventListener) { element.removeEventListener(type, handler, false); } //if user is browsing with IE else if (element.detachEvent) { element.detachEvent("on" + type, handler); } //if user is using a browser that only supports DOM Level 0 event attachment else { element["on" + type] = null; } } }; But when debugging I see under el on the line marked with (1) that the onclick event is null. What am I doing wrong?! PS:the event is attached, when I click on the button I get an alert message is it possible to capture the control.event or element.event that was fired to invoke the onbeforeunload event. for example, if a button is clicked and it causes the onbeforeunload event to fire can i determine which button was clicked. thanks I have a ondrag event handler and in that I am trying to retrieve e.ClientX but it always return 0 in Mozilla. Works fine in IE though. How can retrieve the clientX and clientY in ondrag event? Not sure if this is possible in javascript: I'm looking for two different dates (bill date and due date) on an invoice that are captured by OCR. If one of them exists, but the other does not, I want the empty field to be 14 days before (or after) the other. For example: if the bill date is 7/27/2010 and the due date was not captured, I want to set the due date as 8/10/2010 (14 days after the bill date). If the due date was captured as 8/10/2010, but the due date is blank, I want to assign the bill date as 7/27/2010 (14 days before the due date). if both dates have values, do nothing. Thanks. I have a drop down menu where people can select a month, day and year. Based on their selection, I want to show them an image. If their selection is >= July 26, 2010 but <= July 25, 2011, show the red image; If their selection is >= July 26, 2011 but <= July 25, 2012, show the white image; If their selection is >= July 26, 2012 but <= July 25, 2013, show the blue image; If their selection is >= July 26, 2013 but <= July 25, 2014, show the yellow image; I don't know how to compare a selected date to a range of dates like this. Using Adobe Form Javascript validation, how would I do this code for Visual Basic in Javascript (non web) Code: If PurchaseDate.Value > Date Then MsgBox ("PurchaseDate cannot be greater than Today's Date!") Cancel = True End If Something along these lines but this isnt working: Code: If (PurchaseDate.Value > Date) Then { app.alert ("Purchase Date cannot be greater than Today's Date!"); } Thanks Hi, I need to add days to a date in javascript, My requirement is as follows: Date is coming from a textbox. eg:- 26/07/2010 days from this statement var day1=document.getElementById('<%=HiddenDate.ClientID %>').value; an eg:- if the date is 28/01/2012 and days Needed to be added=5 the added date should be 02/02/2012. Suggestions ? good day: I'm using an ajax script that receives a value into an input box and thus performs a function. I need to invoke the function immediately after the input box has a value. Currently the box has to lose focus in order for the function to work. What is the correct event handler for this to work? I have this now PHP Code: onkeyup="showResult2(this.value)" which is obviously not what I need. This is the ajax PHP Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function showResult2(strs) { if (strs.length==0) { document.getElementById("livesearch2").innerHTML=""; document.getElementById("livesearch2").style.border="0px"; return; } if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200) { document.getElementById("livesearch2").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; document.getElementById("livesearch2").style.border="1px solid #A5ACB2"; } } xmlhttp.open("GET","getOilChangeDate.php?q="+strs,true); xmlhttp.send(); } </script> Any thoughts on this! Mossa Hi Chaps, I have a PHP form with one input and a button. A jQuery script ('loading' animated gif) is triggered on the click of the submit button. I also have a Spry Validation field linked to the input. At the moment, if the validation is triggered, the animated gif continues and won't stop. The furthest I've managed to get with it, is to click the validation message to stop the animation, but what I'm really after is to stop the animation when the validation is visible/triggered, but I can't find a suitable Event. Code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $("#button_download") .click(function() { }) .throbber(); $("#sprytextfield1") .click(function(sprytextfield1) { $.throbberHide(); }) }); </script> If someone can point me in the right direction, that would be sweet. Hi, New to javascript. Doing web page with ASP/VB.NET. Have text boxes for UI on page. Two command buttons - Submit (for db update) and Cancel. I need the Cancel button to prompt the user to verify cancellation. Need OK/Cancel buttons on alert. If user selects Cancel-no action. If user selects OK then I want the text boxes cleared of user text input and focus returned to first text box. I think this may be the code but do not know how to apply it. function Clear() { var res=window.confirm("Please confirm cancellation-text boxes will be cleared"); if(res==true) { document.getElementById("StrtDte").value=""; document.getElementById("EndDte").value=""; document.getElementById("txtProjRegHrsAl").value=""; document.getElementById("txtProjOTHrsAl").value=""; document.getElementById("ddlRAS").focus(); } } Is this code valid or invalid for the events I need? How do I set it to fire when user clicks the ASP Cancel button? Thanks, John Hello All, How can i want to capture onscroll event in Javascript ? Thanks in advance. I have a asp:textbox where I'd like to capture when the user hits Enter, and then instead of doing whatever it normally would, then it should call a javascript function.
