JavaScript - Press Return In Text Box Doesn't Submit Nor Warning Box - But When Click Submit It Ok
Hi,
I have a form that when you click submit gives a warning box asking if to continue code below Now when I type in the text field and press enter it doesn't submit nor does it pop up the warning box, how would I do this Code for submit button Code: <script LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- function submitMyForm() { var agree=confirm("ARE YOU SURE ?"); if (agree) return true ; else return false ; } // --> </script> Code: <form action="admin-delete.php" method="post" name="cp_delete" id="cp_delete"> <input type="text" name="cp_delete_bg" id="cp_delete_bg"> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="submit" onclick="return submitMyForm()"/> </form> Similar TutorialsHey: I have several "submit" buttons on a form. I want users to be able to hit the "enter" key to submit the form. The page used to "post" the information checks for specifically what form button was pushed to submit the form before executing the appropriate code. I am automatically submitting the page when the enter key is hit, but it is defaulting to the first option of executed code in the post page. Example - I have an "update" button and a "delete" button on the form. On the post page, I first check to see if the delete button was hit. When I press enter on the form, it simply answers yes to the first question (did they click the delete button), and the code is executed. I really wanted to emulate that the update button was hit. So -- is there a way to hit the enter button, and in the js code, mandate that it was the "update" button that was clicked? Thanks. Hi, I am setting up a form with a submit button. I want a warning box to come up saying you are about to delete user ?? image Click ok to continue or cancel Can someone give me the code please? All, I currently have a form on my page and I found this on the jQuery website: Code: $.post("test.php", $("#testform").serialize()); However, I want to do something after the results are posted so I think I need a hybrid of the one above and this one: Code: $.post("test.php", function(data) { alert("Data Loaded: " + data); }); Any help would be greatly appreciated. My form id is saveCrop, not sure if that makes a difference or not. Hi all Is using the real form submit button a problem in any way? Can it actaully send a form when a person uses 'enter' in a text field. When I use this submit, it triggers my validation which is great. Code: <input type="submit" value="OnSubmit validate" /> However this way doesn't seem to trigger my validation although It may solve the above form send problem (if that realy exists). How do I get it to act the same as real submit so it will trigger validation like onsubmit above? Code: <input type="button" value="Send Feedback" onclick="this.form.submit()" /> LT does any of that make sense? all ideas helpful and appreciated I've got the following 2 fields in my form: <input type="file" name="filename" id="filename" value="filename"> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Upload Image" /> Now I want to hide both of them as soon as the submit button is pressed. Problem is that I'm a javascript noob and I can't find it with google :S Can someone help me? I have created some online software which uses form data to submit to another page. The problem is that I have other submit buttons in the same form which submit to different pages (depending on which button is pressed). The first submit button works fine but all the others only work once. Code: <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button1' onclick="wbform.action='page1.php'; target='mainFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button2' onclick="wbform.action='page2.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button3' onclick="wbform.action='page3.php'; target='topFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button4' onclick="wbform.action='page4.php'; target='topFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button5' onclick="wbform.action='page5.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button6' onclick="wbform.action='page6.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> Any ideas my friends? Hi all, I'm designing something to addon to an existing product. I'm struggling with some javascript problems. I want to submit a hidden field when you click on an image button, rather than it being an actual submit button. It's going to submit the value "1" to a PHP page, but I don't want it to actually have to GO to the PHP page, just submit it within the webpage. Is this possible? Thanks I am trying to auto submit a login form remotely using .submit() . It's submitting, but for some reason if I use submit() the login isn't processing. However, if I turn off the auto submit and use an actual submit button it logs in just fine. Now, in the form tag there is a call onsubmit for some validation, does .submit() trigger that form onsubmit="" function? Is there something that happens differently when a user clicks a button verses the .submit(). Thanks! Paul Hi all, Im pretty new to HTML and Javascript so please bear with me if Im not explaining my problem well! I am building a website at work which has 2 frames, a main frame and a smaller frame at the side. In the smaller frame I have a text box and search button which will locate and open documents thats name match the text input. Everything seems to be working fine, however I have 3 problems.... 1) How do I complete the search by clicking enter instead of clicking the search button? 2) How do I get the text box to reset/clear after I have submitted a search? At present the entered text remains after I have completed the search 3) Can I get the text box to be selected and be ready for text input when I click on the frame that contains this? As it stands I have to click on the text box itself before I can enter text! Sorry for all the questions! As I said im pretty new to this and learning as I go along, so if you can point me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Glen I want to implement a javascript function where a submit button will be submitted from the parent page each time I close a child page. Please let me know what I did wrong in my code and please elaborate your answer so that I could understand it better. Thank you so much for your help. I have the following jscript code but it is now working. Code: window.onunload = submitParent; function submitParent() { var doc = window.opener.document, theForm = doc.getElementById("finalForm"); theField = doc.getElementById("finalSelected"); theForm.submit(); theField.trigger('click'); } My form from the parent page is as follow. I want my jscript to just click on the submit button once. Code: <form id = "finalForm "name= "finalForm" method="POST" action=""> <input type="Submit" id = "finalSelected" name="finalSelected"/> I have a very small script that simply displays a search box and redirects a user to a URL if they enter 29401 or 29455, else they go to a default page. The script works fine, but I cannot figure out how to make value="enter a zip code" in the input box so that it disappears when you click in the box. I also can't get the form to submit by pressing enter, you have to click "check". I can get all this working in straight HTML but the same won't work w/ javascript. Any help please? <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> function zipValidate(){ val = document.zipForm.zip.value; switch(val){ case "29401": case "29455": document.location = 'http://www.gohere.com'; break; default: document.location = 'http://www.or-go-here.com'; break; } } </SCRIPT> <form name="zipForm" id="zipForm" method="post" action=""> <input name="zip" type="text" id="zip" maxlength="5" /> <input name="zipButton" type="button" id="zipButton" value="Check" onclick="zipValidate()" /> </form> This is probable very easy, I've tried with normal html and am unable to get my head around it. I would like to in some way replicate how a web browser works. I have a form entry field with a submit button at the top of the page. Under that I have an iframe. I copy the url http://www.bbc.co.uk into the entry field, click submit and the iframe updates with the website. Have looked around and haven't found anything similar. Code so far.... <form target="myURL"> <input type="text" name="goTo"> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="submit"> </form> <iframe src="" name="myURL" border="0" frameborder="0" width="768" height="354"></iframe> Thanks in advanced. Death = $Mill well title says it all i have a search form, and the default value is "enter text here" when the user click the submit button, i would like to check if the value of my text input is "enter text here" and if it is, then don't submit the form (popup a warning or something) how can i do that? thanks a lot! http://www.codingcereal.com/2010/12/...-tab-switcher/ when i change the js code to this: Code: j Code: Query(document).ready(function() { jQuery("#tabswitch ul li:first").addClass("active"); jQuery("#tabswitch div.tab-container:first").show(); jQuery("#tabswitch ul li").click(function(){ jQuery("#tabswitch div.tab-container").hide(); jQuery("#tabswitch ul li").removeClass("active"); }); }) for the default state. the tab1 is show, but why when i click the tab1. it doesn't hide?. but there is a line in the click function. jQuery("#tabswitch div.tab-container").hide(); could it be that this line doesn't effect on it? jQuery("#tabswitch div.tab-container").hide(); Hi I have created the following effects on the images seen here http://techavid.com/design/test3.html . You see when you hover and then click on each image, they go from grey to color. When you click on one - the others go grey and the one clicked remains color. That's cool, but now I need the text 1st: Sun for example to display and hide along with its graphic button. The word "Sun," is a link that needs to link out to a URL so it has to be separated from the image effect code. Here code I have now.... Code: <style type="text/css" media="screen"> #wrapper { background: url('_assets/images/sun-inactive.p') no-repeat #777eee; width: 470px; margin: 0 auto; } a#sun{ background: url('_assets/images/sun-inactive.png') no-repeat; width: 107px; height: 78px; display:block; padding: 20px 10px; float: left; } a#sun:hover, a#sun.active { background: url('_assets/images/sun.png') no-repeat; width: 107px; height: 78px; display:block; padding: 20px 10px; } a#plane { background: url('_assets/images/plane-inactive.png') no-repeat; width: 107px; height: 78px; display:block; padding: 20px 10px; float: left; } a#plane:hover, a#plane.active { background: url('_assets/images/plane.png') no-repeat; width: 107px; height: 78px; display:block; padding: 20px 10px; } a#nano { background: url('_assets/images/nano-inactive.png') no-repeat; width: 107px; height: 78px; display:block; padding: 20px 10px; float: left; } a#nano:hover, a#nano.active { background: url('_assets/images/nano.png') no-repeat; width: 107px; height: 78px; display:block; padding: 20px 10px; } #popuptext { float: left; margin: -30px 0 0 0; padding: 0 0 0 0px; font-size: 11px; } #popuptext a { color: #ff6600; padding: 0 30px; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="navigation"> <a id="sun" href="#"></a> <a id="plane" href="#"></a> <a id="nano" href="#"></a> </div> <div style="clear:both"></div> <div id="popuptext">1st: <a href="#">Sun</a> 2nd: <a href="#">Airplane</a> 3rd: <a href="#">Nano</a> </div> </div> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.1/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"> $(document).ready(function() { // target each link in the navigation div $('#navigation a').click(function() { // link that you clicked clicked = $(this).attr('id'); // make sure that all the others are not active // except for the clicked one $('#navigation a').each(function() { if ($(this).attr('id') == clicked) { $(this).addClass('active'); } else { $(this).removeClass('active'); } }); // prevent the default link action return false; }); }); </script> What jquery or javascript code do I need to do this? thanks, chaser Hi, I want submit a form when highlight options select value = true.
