JavaScript - Print Embedded Object/frame Only
Hey Everyone!
I currently using the <object> tag to display a webpage in another webpage... essentially. I read that <iframe> is basically deprecated and <object> should be used to replace it. Thus my code breaks down basically to this: Code: <object data="mywebpage.php"></object> I'm using FF3 and the question I have is how do I print the contents of the object only? Currently, I have to right click the object and under "This Frame" click Print. How can I use a print button to resolve this? Thanks! Similar TutorialsI have a javascript sound board that I've made for a Church skit but I'm wanting to be able to smoothly fade out the longer SFX without having to do it manually with the volume slider. The Object: Code: <span id="player_holder"><embed id="player" hidden="true" autostart="true" loop="false" volume="100"/></span> How do I modify the volume value from: Code: document.getElementById('player') Any ideas? Firstly let me say, im relatively new to Javascript so im still picking things up.. I have a website that i want to add several mp3's onto. When a user clicks a link i wanted to make javascript change the streaming audio to the one that was selected. My HTML is as follows.. Code: <table style="background-color:Black; color:gold; font-weight:700; font-size:16px"> <tr onClick="Click('http://www.m-hops.co.uk/Music/Motown Flavours.mp3')"><td> 1. Motown Flavours </td></tr> <tr onClick="Click('http://www.m-hops.co.uk/Music/All_Around_The_World.mp3')"><td> 2. All Around The World </td></tr> <tr><td> <OBJECT ID="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="290" HEIGHT="50" CLASSID="CLSID:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" STANDBY="Loading Windows Media Player components..." TYPE="application/x-oleobject"> <PARAM id="TRACK" name="FileName" value="http://www.m-hops.co.uk/Music/Motown Flavours.mp3"> <PARAM name="autostart" value="true"> <PARAM name="ShowControls" value="true"> <param name="ShowStatusBar" value="true"> <EMBED id="sound" TYPE="application/x-mplayer2" src="" NAME="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="290" HEIGHT="50" ShowControls="1" ShowStatusBar="1" autostart="1"> </EMBED> </OBJECT> </td></tr> </table> and my Javascript is.. Code: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function Click(track) { document.getElementById('TRACK').value = track; window.alert(document.getElementById('TRACK').value); } </script> It appears that the right track is being parsed to the javascript but its not changing the audio thats being played. Any ideas?? Hi. I have a question about java script code. I'm creating a website with frames. Within the main page frame, there are tables in the main content page. When I created the website, it fit perfectly in the browser window of my smaller laptop. I just checked it out on my old G5 and the images/pages are too big and either cut off or scroll bars appear (which is not what I want) So I wanted to know what code I put in my files and where to put it? Also, what pages does it need to be in? the main frame index page? the specific pages that fit within the frames? some are images that load in the frames? would i need to create an .html for those and then have the .jpg load so that it can be resized? I need the main page to be resized to fit the browser as well as the pages in the frames to fit. Can you help? Thanks I' am trying to do a frame by frame animation, lik an animated gif. I am using svg (vector graphics) and IE9 has native support for svg. The code functions in every other browser but IE9 plays the animation once then nothing. If you would like to try and not have svg files you can use whatever gif,jpg or png just put an img-tag where i have embed. Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Animation</title> <style type="text/css"> /*One div per image all uses this class*/ .eyesPos { position:absolute; width:80px; height:50px; z-index:1; left: 0px; top: 0px; } #eye_wrapper{/*This is a master div for easy placement of the others*/ position:absolute; width:80px; height:50px; z-index:2; left: 275px; top: 200px; } </style> <script> var eyes=["a","b","c","d"];//Image id in this array var startAnim=setInterval(visaOga,100);//Animation speed function visaOga(){ document.getElementById(eyes.splice(0,1)).style.display="block"; if(eyes.length==0){ document.getElementById("a").style.display="none"; document.getElementById("b").style.display="none"; document.getElementById("c").style.display="none"; dBort = function(){ document.getElementById("d").style.display="none"; eyes=["a","b","c","d"]; } setTimeout(dBort,1500);//So last image is shown 1.5 sec return;//Aborts - dBort -. Sequence can start over if(document.getElementById("d").style.display=="none"){ startAnim;//Strts sequence if last image invisible } } } </script> </head> <body> <!--Images in own div invisible at start--> <div id="eye_wrapper"> <div class="eyesPos" id="a" style= display:none;> <embed src="0.svg" width="80" height="50" /> </div> <div class="eyesPos" id="b" style= display:none;> <embed src="1.svg" width="80" height="50" /> </div> <div class="eyesPos" id="c" style= display:none;> <embed src="2.svg" width="80" height="50" /> </div> <div class="eyesPos" id="d" style= display:none;> <embed src="3.svg" width="80" height="50" /> </div> </div> </body> </html> guys help pls.. i need to pass the data in the textfields from the left frame to the textfields in the right frame of my frameset. (ex: dslnum of frame1 will be pass to txtDSLTN of frame2) frame1: http://www.mediafire.com/?hge1ws29mdhmu7e frame2: http://www.mediafire.com/?k83cb64wbpskw97 thanks in advance! I have a page called answersheet.html which I am popping up using a function called NewWindow; Code: <a href="javascript:myVoid()" onclick="NewWindow('/images/101online/practicetest1/listensubtest1/answersheet.html','PopUp','625','400','no',''); return true;"> It works fine. answersheet.html consists of two frames, the top frame containing a button with onclick="myprint()" to print out the bottom frame: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function myprint() { window.parent.bottom.focus(); window.print(); } </script> It does the job in Internet Explorer, but Firefox and Chrome only print the top frame with the print button! Is the function myprint() IE only coding? If so, what should I use? Hi, every time I try and alert: [ { number:0, secondnumber:0 }, { number:2, secondnumber:1 }, { number:1, secondnumber:2 } ] it just shows [object object], [object object], [object object]. Why is this and what can I do to make the record be shown as it is above in an alert? Thanks. I created a method for displaying an object's properties: Code: renderfunction = false; function showProperty (object, property) { document.write ('<td class="type">' + (typeof object[property]) + '</td>' + '<td class="name">' + property + '</td>'); document.writeln('<td class="value">' + ( (typeof object[property] != 'function') ? object[property] :( (property != 'showProperties') ? ( renderfunction ? object[property]() : ('<span class="self">NOT RENDERED</span>') ) : ('<span class="self">THIS</span>') ) ) + '</td>'); document.writeln('<td class="hasOwnProperty" >' + ( object.hasOwnProperty(property) ? "Local" : "Inherited" ) + '</td>'); if (typeof object[property] == 'function') { document.writeln ('<td class="function">' + object[property] + '</td>'); } else { document.writeln ('<td class="function"> </td>'); } } As long as renderfunction = false, the object is fine coming out of this function. However, if I change renderfunction to true, all my properties become undefined. Why isn't this working as I expect it to? How should I fix it? Thanks in advance, -Brian. I can't get any info from Firebug except that one line, uncaught exception [object Object]. The code fully worked, then I needed to make it dynamically create Sortables from the scriptaculous library based on how many X were in a table in my database, which I've done, and I'm thinking it may be a simple slight parse error of some type, I'm not too good with Javascript, because now my script barely works. I've double checked the script's source code, the PHP variables are exactly what they should be. Code: print<<<HERE Sortable.create('sortlist$box', { tag: 'img', overlap:'horizontal',constraint:false, containment: $list, dropOnEmpty: true, onChange: function(item) { var list = Sortable.options(item).element; if(changeEffect) changeEffect.cancel(); changeEffect = new Effect.Highlight('changeNotification', {restoreColor:"transparent" }); }, onDrop: function(item) { var thing=Sortable.options(item).element.identify(); var anchors = document.getElementById(thing).childNodes.length-2; if(anchors > 20){ alert('This box had 20 creatures in it already, your last action has not been saved.'); window.location.reload(); } else{ new Ajax.Request("saveImageOrder.php", { method: "post", parameters: { data: Sortable.serialize("sortlist$box") } }); } } }); HERE; $box++; } ?> }); </script> if you solve this I'll send ya $10 via paypal Ignore post (if mod, please delete)
I'm writing a program that involves a network of interconnected nodes (or simply objects in my example below). It depends on being able to access properties of an object's linked objects (a bit oddly worded, sorry)... Problem is I'm not sure how to properly access those properties... see below please. <script> //This is an example of a problem im having in my own code... //I want to access the name of the object within the links array wintin the object... var objA = {name: "Object A", links: [objB, objC]}; var objB = {name: "Object B", links: [objC, objD, objE]}; var objC = {name: "Object C", links: [objB]}; var objD = {name: "Object D", links: [objE]}; var objE = {name: "Object E", links: [objD]}; //ex: I want to access the name of Object A's first link... console.log(objA.links[0].name); </script> I'm hoping to get "Object B"... But instead I get: TypeError: Result of expression 'objA.links[0]' [undefined] is not an object. Is there another way around this? Any thoughts are appreciated. Hi all, I'm stumped on finding a way in javascript to create an object factory whose instances are also object factories. In short I want something like that below, but no joy ... any clues? Code: function createClass () { return new createClass() function createClass() { return new createInstance () function createInstance () { //Default properties, values and methods which might later be extended } } } var createDoor = createClass(); var door1 = createDoor(); var door2 = createDoor(); var createChair = createClass(); var chair1 = createChair (); var chair2 = createChair (); Hello together! I generate html code with jsp. In that jsp there a several framesets and frames. And yes i know, frames are not really up to date but it's an old program and i have to deal with it now. Anyway, in the top frameset i have an onload attribute like onload="load()". In the function load i want to access the Element.prototype object. But unfortunately typeof Element gives me "undefined". So i looked a little deeper and found that window.toString() gives me "[object]" and not as expected "[object window]" so somehow my window doesn't know that its construcor is Window. window.construcor is "undefined" as well. And i don't have access to the Element object. I really don't know where the error could be. When the page is loaded and i access the same window over the console, then everything is right. But in my function a can't get access to the objects i need. I also don't know what part of the code could be useful to post here, but maybe someone had a similar problem before? i should say that this problem only occurs in IE8. In IE9 it works perfectly. Has anyone any idea?? Quote: menu: function( a, b ) { $( b ).observe( 'click', function( event ) { event.stop(); if( $( a ).visible() ) { $( a ).hide(); $( b ).removeClassName( 'selected' ); document.stopObserving( 'click' ); } else { $( a ).show(); $( b ).addClassName( 'selected' ); document.observe( 'click', function( e ) { if( e.target.id != a && e.target.id != b && !Element.descendantOf( e.target, $( a ) ) ) { $( a ).hide(); $( b ).removeClassName( 'selected' ); document.stopObserving( 'click' ); } }); } }); $$( '#' + b + ' > a' ).each( function( element ) { element.observe( 'click', function( event ) { $( a ).hide(); $( b ).removeClassName( 'selected' ); document.stopObserving( 'click' ); }); }); } This work's perfrect accept when i use it with others on the menu it leaves the other ones open, how do i get it to close the open one when i open a new menu.. Thanks. Hello. Is there any way to get the variable name of an object from inside the object? E.g. PHP Code: function Bla(){ this.write = function(){ document.write(<objectname>); } } obj1 = new Bla(); obj1.write(); //Outputs obj1 Here is my script: PHP Code: function myTimer(seconds, obj){ this.seconds = seconds; this.obj = obj; this.startTimer = function(){ if(this.seconds>0){ this.seconds--; this.obj.innerHTML = this.seconds; this.timer = setTimeout("Timer.start()",1000); } } } Timer = new Timer(10, obj); Timer.startTimer(); Now the problem is that the variable that contains the object must be named "Timer". This way I cannot create new timer objects with different variable names I have tried: this.timer = setTimeout("this.start()",1000); but it doesn't work. That's why it would be good to detect the variable name and instead use something like this: this.timer = setTimeout(varname+".start()",1000); I would rather not have to pass the variable name through a parameter like this: Timer1 = new Timer(10, obj, "Timer1"); Thanks in advance. Hi, I need to have a forced focus on a password field which is in an embedded JSP (<%@ include file="password.jsp" %>, this password.jsp doesnt has any body or form tag). I am facing some wierd issues in achieving as desired. The below code (in the parent JSP) DOESNT WORKS: window.onload = function() { document.<formname>.<fieldname>.focus() } here <fieldname> is in password.jsp and not the parent jsp when changed as below IT WORKS(obviously with an alert box which i dont want): window.onload = function() { alert("hi") document.<formname>.<fieldname>.focus() } i cannot use <body onLoad> due to third party javascript component constraints Help please... Hi, I was hoping someone might have a solution to randomizing a URL in javascript... in this case for an embedded Simpleviewer link? At the moment the link is http://timperceval.com/guiran/intro1/ but I would like to have the site randomly choose from four URLs. The embedded code is as follows: <!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.--> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://timperceval.com/guiran/intro1/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var flashvars = {}; flashvars.baseURL = "http://timperceval.com/guiran/intro1/"; simpleviewer.ready(function () { simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "000000", true, flashvars); }); </script> <div id="sv-container"></div> <!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -- Any ideas would really help! Thanks, Tim basically...i have a popup overlay that keeps gettin covered by the flash videos my friend embeds all over the website this is easily avoided using addParam('wmode', 'transparent','true'); but is there a script that can add that transparent line of code to every flash video soon as the page loads...so i dont gotta one by one every youtube I have been searching for an answer to this pretty much all day... I'm fed up. Can someone help? I want to be able to open wmv videos in an embedded windows movie player using javascript. Something identical to what you will find he http://www.hunlock.com/blogs/Everyth...ding#quickIDX2...go down to the heading :'How to make a video select list'. I am trying to emulate this but for wmv files and windows media player rather than for flsh files. I have tested this on one link and it does not open. i just get a black media screen and nothing. Here's my code: Here's the script within the head tag: Code: <script type="text/javascript">function playVideo(sourceId, targetId) { if (typeof(sourceId)=='string') {sourceId=document.getElementById(sourceId);} if (typeof(targetId)=='string') {targetId=document.getElementById(targetId);} targetId.innerHTML=sourceId.innerHTML; return false;}</script> Here`s the link: Code: <a href="#" onclick='return playVideo("selectdemo1","videoPlayback")'> video 1</a> and here's the embedding and the play back code (The play back area is within the same page as the link): Code: div id="selectdemo1"> <OBJECT id='mediaPlayer' width="450" height="445" classid='CLSID:22d6f312-b0f6-11d0-94ab-0080c74c7e95' codebase='http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701' standby='Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components...' type='application/x-oleobject'> <param name='fileName' value="\\HOC\AdminPrivate\FS08U\TurgeL\Documents\Site Web\videos\Add_Documents.wmv"> <param name='animationatStart' value='true'> <param name='transparentatStart' value='true'> <param name='autoStart' value="false"> <param name='showControls' value="true"> <param name='loop' value="false"> <EMBED type='application/x-mplayer2' pluginspage='http://microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/download/' id='mediaPlayer' name='mediaPlayer' displaysize='4' autosize='-1' bgcolor='darkblue' showcontrols="true" showtracker='-1' showdisplay='0' showstatusbar='-1' videoborder3d='-1' width="450" height="445" src="http://servername/\\\\HOC\\AdminPrivate\\FS08U\\TurgeL\\Documents\\Site Web\\videos\\Add_Documents.wmv&autoplay=1" autostart="false" designtimesp='5311' loop="false"> </EMBED> </OBJECT> </div> </div> Please help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! |
