JavaScript - Changing Innerhtml Of Table In Other Frame
I am currently making a website with 2 Frames, top and bottom. Top Frame will be a table. Bottom Frame will be a row with the information from the last row *you* clicked in Top Frame.
______________________________ | | | TABLE HERE | | | |_____________________________| | | | copy of last row clicked from ^^ | |_____________________________| there is a onclick event for the table in Top Frame that changes the row in Bottom Frame to *this* row. here is the javascript function I think should work.... Code: function changeRow(id) { alert(id.innerHTML); parent.frames.FRAME2.TABLE_B.innerHTML = id.innerHTML; } this is index.php Code: <html> <frameset rows = "60%, 40%"> <frame src = "table_driver.php" name = "A" id = "FRAME1"> <frame src = "bottom_row.php" name = "B" id = "FRAME2"> </frameset> </html> and bottom_row.php which creates an empty table to be filled by the onclick event Code: <html> <head> <link rel = "stylesheet" type = "text/css" href = "style.css"/> <script type = "text/javascript" src="java_script.js"></script> </head> <body> <table id = "TABLE_B"><tr><td>Hello</td></tr></table> </body> </html> Similar TutorialsI was playing around with some onmouseover/onmouseout and setting innerHTML to various strings depending on what has been mousedover/out. The DIV for the innerHTML was above the items being onmouseovered/out and because the strings sent were of different lengths, sometimes a one or two line wrap would happen and everything below it would be resized accordingly creating a horrible effect. For reference, what is a good way to approach building pages which are immune to this effect? I created a page that has an iframe on it. Within this iframe I call an asp page. The asp page is supposed to do some work and then update the innerHTML of a <div> object on the parent page to indicate that processing of the page in the iframe is complete. The code works in IE but not FireFox. I am wondering what is the best way to make the script work for both browsers? Sub page JavaScript: Code: updateParent() { parent.document.getElementById("num2").innerHTML = '<center><strong>Processing complete.</strong></center>'; } Parent page: Code: <div id="num2"></div> Hello, I can't seem, for the life of me to get this to work at all. I've tried everything out there and can't get it to work with IE 7: I would like to change the border color of my table row on hover. Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Test</title> <style type="text/css"> .test { border:1px solid #9CA4AA } .test:hover { border:1px solid #666666 } </style> </head> <body> <table width="536" style="border:1px solid #9CA4AA" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1"> <tr class="test"> <td> </td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> I desperately need your help before I have no hair left. Thanks for all your help in advance, Cheers, J Hi. I have a question about java script code. I'm creating a website with frames. Within the main page frame, there are tables in the main content page. When I created the website, it fit perfectly in the browser window of my smaller laptop. I just checked it out on my old G5 and the images/pages are too big and either cut off or scroll bars appear (which is not what I want) So I wanted to know what code I put in my files and where to put it? Also, what pages does it need to be in? the main frame index page? the specific pages that fit within the frames? some are images that load in the frames? would i need to create an .html for those and then have the .jpg load so that it can be resized? I need the main page to be resized to fit the browser as well as the pages in the frames to fit. Can you help? Thanks I' am trying to do a frame by frame animation, lik an animated gif. I am using svg (vector graphics) and IE9 has native support for svg. The code functions in every other browser but IE9 plays the animation once then nothing. If you would like to try and not have svg files you can use whatever gif,jpg or png just put an img-tag where i have embed. Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Animation</title> <style type="text/css"> /*One div per image all uses this class*/ .eyesPos { position:absolute; width:80px; height:50px; z-index:1; left: 0px; top: 0px; } #eye_wrapper{/*This is a master div for easy placement of the others*/ position:absolute; width:80px; height:50px; z-index:2; left: 275px; top: 200px; } </style> <script> var eyes=["a","b","c","d"];//Image id in this array var startAnim=setInterval(visaOga,100);//Animation speed function visaOga(){ document.getElementById(eyes.splice(0,1)).style.display="block"; if(eyes.length==0){ document.getElementById("a").style.display="none"; document.getElementById("b").style.display="none"; document.getElementById("c").style.display="none"; dBort = function(){ document.getElementById("d").style.display="none"; eyes=["a","b","c","d"]; } setTimeout(dBort,1500);//So last image is shown 1.5 sec return;//Aborts - dBort -. Sequence can start over if(document.getElementById("d").style.display=="none"){ startAnim;//Strts sequence if last image invisible } } } </script> </head> <body> <!--Images in own div invisible at start--> <div id="eye_wrapper"> <div class="eyesPos" id="a" style= display:none;> <embed src="0.svg" width="80" height="50" /> </div> <div class="eyesPos" id="b" style= display:none;> <embed src="1.svg" width="80" height="50" /> </div> <div class="eyesPos" id="c" style= display:none;> <embed src="2.svg" width="80" height="50" /> </div> <div class="eyesPos" id="d" style= display:none;> <embed src="3.svg" width="80" height="50" /> </div> </div> </body> </html> OK. I'm super new to any kind of java script. What I want is a menu that, when clicked, changes the background color of a table cell to blue. When a different option is clicked, the current highlighted table should turn back to gray and the new selection should be blue. Well, I have all of that working. What I need now is just to have the first option start out highlighted and to become unhighlighted when another option is clicked. Any help would be awesome!!!! Thanks!!!!!! I have a page called answersheet.html which I am popping up using a function called NewWindow; Code: <a href="javascript:myVoid()" onclick="NewWindow('/images/101online/practicetest1/listensubtest1/answersheet.html','PopUp','625','400','no',''); return true;"> It works fine. answersheet.html consists of two frames, the top frame containing a button with onclick="myprint()" to print out the bottom frame: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function myprint() { window.parent.bottom.focus(); window.print(); } </script> It does the job in Internet Explorer, but Firefox and Chrome only print the top frame with the print button! Is the function myprint() IE only coding? If so, what should I use? Hello, I am a newbie for Javascript. Currently I am doing a website which consists of a lot of contents. Therefore, I hope to get a solution which all my contents are arranged into a table (rows and columns). The condition is that there is only a html page to hold all the contents where there is a "view more" or 'next" button at the bottom and each times user can click to go to the different contents. I have tried to use the innerHTML and I was able to do for 2 pages only...Now I encountered a problem which I need to update more contents to more pages . Can you kindly give some guidelines according to this? Below shows the example code of my website: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function OpenWindow() { var content=document.getElementById('achieve').rows[0].cells; content[1].innerHTML="<br/><div align='justify' class='style1 style8'><span class='style11'>Another content</span></div>" + "<div align='left' class='style23 style13'>more details</div>"; var content=document.getElementById('achieve').rows[1].cells; content[1].innerHTML=""; var content=document.getElementById('achieve').rows[2].cells; content[1].innerHTML="<strong><em><font class=style13 style23 color=#FF6600><a href='test.html'>back</a></font></em></strong>"; } </script> </head> <body> <!--id starts--> <table id="achieve" width="780" height="387" border="0"> <tr> <td width="10" height="39"> </td> <td width="340"><div align="center" class="style6">My Title</div></td> <td width="416"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td><div align="justify" class="style1 style8"><span class="style11">More Contents here</span></div></td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td><div align="right"><strong><em><font class="style23 style13" color="#FF6600"><a href="#" onclick="OpenWindow()">+ view more </a></font></em></strong></div></td> <td> </td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> Hey, for some reason, this isn't working because of the src="images/edit.png" attribute. Here is my code: Code: <a href="#" onclick="change('HEYYY')"><img src="images/edit.png" alt="Edit" id="edit1" /></a> Javascript (External) Code: function change(message) { document.getElementById('edit1').innerHTML = '<input type="text" value="'+message+'" />'; } It does nothing. But if I take the src attribute out, it works fine. Any help? Thanks. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get IE working properly with this? It's a, (exempting IE), straight forward line numbering and plain text code view function. When using the line numbering portion, it works fine in Moz based browsers etc, as it does in IE for the initial numbering. On trying to remove the numbers though, (on the second call), IE just seems to cascade the list entries rather than removing them. Code: function process_code(id, number, print) { if (document.getElementById(id)) { var current = document.getElementById(id); var code = current.innerHTML.split('\n'); var count = 0; var xcount = 0; if (number) { if (current.innerHTML.indexOf('<li class="code-entry">') != -1) { code = code.join('\n'); code = code.replace(/\<\/(li\>\<\/ol|li)\>/ig, '\n'); code = code.replace(/\<ol\>\<li[^\>]+\>|\<li[^\>]+\>/ig, ''); current.innerHTML = code.replace(/^\n+|\n+$/g, ''); } else { current.innerHTML = '<ol><li class="code-entry">'+code.join('</li><li class="code-entry">')+'< /li></ol>'; } } else { var doc = window.open('', 'code_print'); var newdoc = doc.document; newdoc.open('text/plain'); newdoc.write(decode_code(code.join('\n'))); newdoc.close(); if (print) { if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Opera') != -1) { window.print(); } else { doc.print(); } doc.close(); } } } } Can somebody explain me why this isn't working? Code: <SCRIPT TYPE="TEXT/JAVASCRIPT"> // Check lotto var goed = frmTrekking.EersteGetal.value var fout = frmGetallen.Opgegeven_1.value function checkLotto() { if (frmTrekking.EersteGetal.value == frmGetallen.Opgegeven_1.value) { document.getElementById('boldStuff').style.color='#00ff00'; document.getElementById('boldStuff').innerHTML = goed; } else { document.getElementById('boldStuff').style.color='#ff0000'; document.getElementById('boldStuff').innerHTML = fout; } } </script> When I don't use the var, but give for example this: it works ok. Code: document.getElementById('boldStuff').innerHTML = '6'; How would you make a if for a input box =this do this Some if the input boxe value = this then get innerHTMl Hello everyone, My problem consist in that I want to avoid re-loading the whole page, and only re-load the portion of the website that needs to be. Similar to listed below; website Banner (Solid) Menu bar (Solid) Div content (Changeable) The main problem is that no matter what I do, I can't make the innerHTML cover the whole <div> </div> It remains the same very small size, no matter what I put within the div. Far from its full size potential (plenty of space left). Head script Code: PHP Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ // written by: Coothead function updateObjectIframe(which){ document.getElementById('one').innerHTML = '<'+'object id="foo" name="foo" type="text/html" data="'+which.href+'"><\/object>'; } //]]> </script> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="main_stylesheet.css" media="screen, projection" /> </head> Here is the html portion. PHP Code: <div id="one" style="background-color:#C0C0C0;position:relative;height:2000px;width:800px;float:left;"></div> Here is the link placed elswhere on the website (The solid menu bar) PHP Code: <li><a href="http://www.google.com" onclick="updateObjectIframe(this); return false;">Forums</a></li> It's not Google that I want to use, however a PHPBB forum. But I found that the same problem occurs on no matter what I put in this innerhtml, the javascript gets limited to the same little box in the upper left corner of my div. Can't change size, no matter what I tried to do. I'm suspecting it has something to do with CSS, however I spended a whole night (and now day) trying to work this out, I really don't get much further. I realize I should spend a couple of more nights when new to JS, however this kind script I consider like a foundation to a house, it's important before moving on with learning, maybe I'm wrong though. Anyone who can help with this issue? Would be very much appreciated, Thank you! I trying to display a random number using innerHTML Here's my code: Code: <html> <head> <script language="JavaScript"> var myArray = new Array("String1", "String2", "String3", "String4", "String5", "String6", "String7", "String8", "String9", "String10"); var num = Math.floor(myArray.length * Math.random()); document.writeln(myArray[num]); //document.getElementById("myString").innerHTML = myArray[num]; </script> </head> <body> <div id="myString"></div> </body> </html> it works when I use document.writeln(myArray[num]); but does NOT work for document.getElementById("myString").innerHTML = myArray[num]; any ideas?? tks Hey guys, I'm trying to hide a TR if a TD within it has only specific html in it. I want the php include to work when I press a button that will put the include into a specific element with the document.getElementById("").innerHTML method in javascript. I want the include to be able to be more then a single line. For example I want to be able to write my code like this <div> some text </div> and not have to write it like this <div>some test</div> Thanks Shelby Hello. I have created a form via innerhtml, like this: content.innerhtml = "<form action =\"customer.php\" method=\"post\">"; content.innerhtml = "<input type = \"text\" name = \"Username\" />"; content.innerhtml = "<input type = \"submit\" value = \"Submit\" />"; When I click submit, instead of running the php file, nothing happens. I tested it outside the script and it works just fine. Is there any other way I can make this work inside the script? Thank you. |
