JavaScript - Change Button Function Or Hide/show Button On Different Items
i'm still a relative noob and this has me stuck -
i have a save button with a "save as copy" in the save dropdown list. add new item directs to a premade/formatted project that is used as a template, so on that item i only want/need the "save as copy" but on all other items that use the form i need to only have the "save" function. is there any way to either change the function of the button depending on item that is being viewed in the edit screen OR hide the "save" button and only show the button associated with "save as copy - and vis versa for the rest of the items?? current button code is - protected function getToolbar() { $options = array(); $user = JFactory::getUser(); $create_ms = $user->authorise('core.create', 'com_pfmilestones'); $create_task = $user->authorise('core.create', 'com_pftasks'); $options[] = array( 'text' => 'JSAVE', 'task' => $this->getName() . '.save'); $options[] = array( 'text' => 'Save as new project', 'task' => $this->getName() . '.save2copy', 'options' => array('access' => ($this->item->id > 0))); PFToolbar::dropdownButton($options, array('icon' => 'icon-white icon-ok')); item used as template is id=8 any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. So, there are three fields presented with the Buy button: Size, Format, and Trim & Finish. If I were to select the Size of 8 x 12 in the first dropdown, the behavior that I am striving for is to only show the Formats available in that size in the second dropdown. Subsequently, each format has Trim & Finish options exclusive to that format and I'm aiming to only make those show in the Trim & Finish dropdown. But it aint working. Here's the code that I started. I use php to create buttons based on values pulled for a table. The problem I have is when you click on the first button the javascript function works great, when you click on the next button you get the same output even though it should be different results. I am working in ff and I can see on my firebug console that the javascript function is being called, but it is not passing the new value of the second or third button, it just keeps repassing the value of the first button. So not entirely sure where I am going wrong here. My page is: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function loadXMLDoc2(File,ID,Msg){ if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else { try{ xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP"); } catch (e) { xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function(){ if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200){ document.getElementById(ID).innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; } } var params=Msg; xmlhttp.open("POST",File, true); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Pragma", "Cache-Control:no-cache"); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-length", params.length); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Connection", "close"); xmlhttp.send(params); } </script> <head> <body> <?php $con = mysql_connect("localhost","user","password"); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("mydb", $con); $result = mysql_query("SELECT DISTINCT theme FROM goods WHERE category='{$_POST['category']}' ORDER BY theme DESC"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ echo '<input type="text" class="hidden" name="theme" id="theme" value="' . $row['theme'] . '" ><input type="button" class="button3" name="product" id="product" value="' . $row['product'] . '" onClick="loadXMLDoc2(\'getShow.php\',\'txtHint\',\'theme=\'+encodeURI(document.getElementById(\'rtheme\').value))" > '; } echo '<br /><br /> <div id="txtHint"><div> <br /> <br />'; mysql_close($con); ?> And getShow.php produces a table with a list of product images, names and prices, based on theme. So basically not sure where I am going wrong here? I can I take a code like this: Code: <script language="javascript"> function toggle() { var ele = document.getElementById("toggleText"); var text = document.getElementById("displayText"); if(ele.style.display == "block") { ele.style.display = "none"; text.innerHTML = "show"; } else { ele.style.display = "block"; text.innerHTML = "hide"; } } </script> <a href="javascript:toggle();" id="displayText">Show/Hide</a> <div id="toggleText" style="display: none;">This is Hidden Text</div> But make it so you see "Show" before you click, then change the text to "Hide" once you click the link? I want to be able to display a table of images, all the same size, click on any one and show a corresponding htm pages in an iframe, click outside the ifram or on it to close it; click on another image and on and on... So far, I am able to hide the initial iframe and/or display it inline but am unable to show it above the table that holds the images. It is not difficult to do this using screen-captured images of the htm pages but I am looking for a dynamic way of doing this either with javascript or php or just plain html. The htm pages contain a recipe with an photo and text in a <table>. If needed, I could whip up a small demo. Any help would be much appreciated. Hi, I am very new to javascript and html. I am trying to create a function which will hide or show a div (div1). Right now, it is always showing the div whether the boolean value is true or false. I know that it is getting inside the else if part, but it doesn't seem to be working. Hi Guys, I'm fairly new to Javascript and would be grateful for any help you can give me. I've had a search on Google and found a couple of potential solutions but nothing seems to work quite right for what I need. Basically I have a form with several questions followed by Yes/No radio buttons. Dependent on which answer is given, I want to display a different message above the text box. For example, if you answered 'no' to a certain question then the message above the text box would change to say "Please fill in additional information" or something along those lines. Below is the HTML to give you an idea of what I mean. Code: <table> <tr> <td> </td> <td><label class="bold">Yes</label></td> <td><label class="bold">No</label></td> </tr> <tr> <td><label for="property_q1"> - Is this your house?</label></td> <td><input name="property_q1" id="property_q1" type="radio" value="Yes" /></td> <td><input name="property_q1" id="property_q1" type="radio" value="No" /></td> </tr> </table> <br /> <div id="fine">It's fine, don't worry about filling it in.</div> <div id="fill" style="display:none">Please fill in the form below.</div> <table> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td><textarea name="info" id="info" cols="60" rows="5"></textarea></td> </tr> </table> <input type="submit" /> Hi, this is my first post on the forum. I was just wondering whether there is a way to hide an element on another page after clicking on a button? Basically, I have a login page, and for testing purposes, I want it so when you click a button, it runs some javascript in a file called ajax.util.js, and I have a jQuery file attached to the HTML file as well (http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs.../jquery.min.js), and I am using Google App Engine, which im not sure whether thats relevant. I tried using the show and hide functions provided by the jQuery file, but no luck, i want to hide an element which is a link with ID admintools. I have also tried getting the element by ID and changing the display style to none and hidden but still no luck. Im not sure whether its only possible to hide elements in the login.html page. What I want it to do basically is click on the submit button in the login page, it will then run a javascript function which redirects you to index.html (which i am doing using window.location), and then hides an element in the index.html page (id=admintools). Any help would be great, Thanks in advance Hi, I am working on Salesforce.com application and want to have a standard button named "Save and Send Update" placed on Event object detail page to be hidden. I followed some sample codes shown on net utilising style.visibility/style.display attributes of Javascript. However, I am not able to still remove/hide the standard button. If anyone could please assist me in this, that would be great! Thanks, Vimal |
