JavaScript - Looking For A Simple Way To Keep My Decimals To Two Places

How would I go about creating a random number between 1-50 that COULD include whole numbers, decimals to the tenth, hundredth and the thousandth place?

Ex) 2.145, 3, 5.8, 41.002, 10.12, 7, 18.023, 33.2

Also, if the only way to do it is to put trailing zeros to the thousandth place that's fine as well

ex) 2.145, 3.00, 5.800, 41.002, 10.120, 7.00, 18.023, 33.200

As you can see I have set its X position at -90 and y position at -400 so that It could be displaying well when the mouse is hover over a link and it do appear well in the testing page http://bloghutsbeta.blogspot.com/201...slidernav.html
If you put your mouse over ALEX in 'A' category BUT from the same test site but in different location from above here http://bloghutsbeta.blogspot.com/201...ting-main.html if you put your mouse over ALEX under 'SIMULATION' category then you will see that the tooltip is way down.

Not even that the tooltip moves away if the screen resolution changes. I changed value again and again but didn't reach any conclusion, can someone help me with this issue as what to do to fix it?

I am looking to enforce the use of 3 decimal places in an input. I have found some scripts that do this, however, I also want to format it this way in case someone enters LESS than 3 decimal places.

If a user enters 1.25, I want it formatted as 1.250
If a user enters 1 I want it formatted as 1.000 etc.

Possible? Not sure where to start.

I'm fairly new to programming, I just started JavaScript and I did read the rules. I am a student and will not post my code asking someone to do my homework. I just need a little guidance.

For my assignment, when a webpage is loaded, it prompts the user to enter hours worked, their pay rate and tax rate, then use a function to calculate the net weekly pay, then display all numbers on the screen. Now I have this working and it appears on the screen, but I need to limit the hours worked to a whole number and the pay and tax rates need to only show 2 digits on either side of the decimal.

From searching I found a lot of information about ParceInt, ParceFloat and toFixed, but cannot get these to work. Either these are not correct or I'm not using them correctly.

Below are samples of 2 of the prompts. Can someone help me with this problem? Also is it better the handle this problem at the prompt or in the function or where it writes to the screen?

Hi, I'm really new to Javascript. Recently in my IT class, we made a HTML page which would open a popup box, where the user could enter a key word. When the user pressed enter, the page would navigate to a specific page. The code we used was:

However when I tested this, for some reason the links are not working. Can this actually be done? Am I missing something silly? Are there any other ways of doing this?

I imagine this would be very simple for someone who knows javascript.

I want to have three fields.

First field is "posted speed limit", second field is "actual speed" and third field will be the output field.

All the script needs to do it subtract the posted speed from the actual speed and add a ZERO to the end; which is the amount of the speeding ticket. The minimum fine is $100, however.

So, 5 miles over the speed limit would be $100 (minimum value)
15 miles over the speed limit would be $150 (add a zero)
35 miles over the speed limit would be $350.
etc.

I know very little Javascript, if anyone could help me out with this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Sean

Im trying to make an imacro/javascript script that checks a webpage for names, and if either of the names are found, i want the script to alert me, if not, continue looping/reloading the page.

Im not at all good with javascript, imacro is more sort of my thing, however what i do have, doesnt seem to do anything.

When the page first opens, the navigation shows fully expanded for a second, then collapses all. I would like to cut out the expanded view if possible and have the page load with the menu fully collapsed. Is there any way that would work?

Hi,

I need a very simple script that will do the following :

I have a HTML form.
I have an input call "title". Say I wrote "fleur-de-lys"
I have a text area call "text"

When I hit the submit button I want to do :

1. Create a HTML webpage with the name in input :
fleur-de-lys.html
2. Add the text in "text" somewhere in the body of that new file fleur-de-lys.html
3. Add a preview of that text somewhere in my index page

Basically it's like you post a new article on wordpress or whatever, but I just want something simple no database and just need help on how I do this.
