I'm having a problem using javascript with a form. I'm using javascript to determine whether or not a person has selected "yes" or "no" from the select list. If "yes" is selected, the form is supposed to slide down and reveal two more fields. If "no" is selected, the form is supposed to slide back up hiding those two fields again. When "yes" is selected, the form displays the two new fields properly. In Safari, it does the slideDown animation, yet in Firefox, the new form fields just suddenly display. If I select "no" again, nothing happens. The slideUp animation doesn't play. So currently I am having to use $("#parent1").hide(); to get the "no" to trigger. So my two questions a 1. Is there any reason the slide animation plays smoothly in Safari but not in Firefox? 2. I have spent considerable time all over the WEB and at this forum which addressed the issue in a 50 page thread. Please see: http://codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=50666 I got a lot of ideas from this thread but still cannot figure a way to do the following within the Jukebox. These are my main two questions for everything below: 1. How can I have the Jukebox cycle through all tunes and then start over from the beginning? 2. How can I allow the user to select a tune from a list but not a drop down list, have the Jukebox start from the user’s selection and then play all songs to the end. Then as in #1, start over from the beginning? Per this thread I came away with basically two ways to assemble the jukebox. One uses links in a drop down list which the user can choose from. The other is to use an .m3u playlist. The user can only select a “playlist” from the drop down. Below, I have included the code for each Jukebox. To see the Jukeboxes in action please go to my website where I have posted some test pages exhibiting the jukeboxes that I am referring to. The following is the Jukebox which utilizes an .m3u playlist. If I end up using this idea I would like the tunes in the .m3u playlist to be displayed and allow the user to be able to choose a tune in the list. Another idea I found on the WEB also uses an .m3u playlist. The good thing about it is that it lists all the tunes in the playlist which the user can then select from. This jukebox calls up an entire Windows Media Player. Sorry I just realized this should have been in server side... I'm trying to create a list of twitter users with a follow button next to each user. The user names are being pulled from a mysql database. Here's the code I have so far. I can get a list of user names from my database, put it into an array and I can replace the user name in the first follow button. I need to sequentially replace the $row variable in the script at the bottom so the follow button points to the users account each time it iterates through the array? I'm stuck on how to iterate this so that I get a list of all the users in the array with a follow button next to each user name. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated! When I use: Code: var ll=new linkedList(); ll.add(1); ll.add(2); both the head and tail of ll point to the node whose value is to, and the next and previues pointer on that node are both null. Hi I've been working on a listbox full of employees for our company intranet. Each name has an onchange tag that calls up a floor map and that part works fine but I'd really like to populate the names from an XML list so it's easier for non-IT people to maintain. I've been doing alot of web searches on the subject which comes up alot but it's mostly just fragments of what I need being that I've got no javascript background. I found a helpful tutorial on javascriptkit but that wasn't for creating listboxes so I'm only part of the way there. I would like to sort them in order of closest to furthest (or even just display the top 5)... where would I find something like that? I seem to be having a difficult time with my searches in google and otherwise. Anyone have any ideas? Problem Part 1. Gather data from linux server and output to a file named data_DDMMYY Output file must contain the file name and size Part 2. Compare todays data_DDMMYY to yesterdays data_DDMMYY and output results to a file named difference_DDMMYY Output file must show the difference in size between same named files and identify new and deleted files Solution Part 1. Log into linux, use command "find . -daystart -ctime 0 -type f | xargs ls -sSh > data_DDMMYY" Sample output: Part 2. Perhaps use of an array and iterator? (my knowledge is very limited when it comes to arrays and iterators) Idea Grab file 1, go to line 1, read first string and save to variable x, read second string and save to list2 Grab file 2, using the current line in list2, look for a match. If a match is found, go to that line, read first string and save to variable y Calculate difference of x-y and save to list1, output first line of list 1 and list 2 to difference_DDMMYY If match is not found, output <string>.notFound to a new line in difference_DDMMYY Grab file 1, go to line 2, read first string and save to x, read second string and save to new line in list 2 etc ... until all lines in file 1 have been used. Then somehow I'd like to find the lines in file 2 that weren't copied to a list and output them to the difference_DDMMYY as <String>.newFile I'm sure there's some sort of for loop I can use to solve this, but as of right now I'm stumped and need ideas >.< Any and all help is appreciated. The three drop downs would be: Degree Type (certificate, associate's, bachelor's, etc) Category (Arts & Humanities, Automotive, Computers & IT etc.) Program (Desktop Publishing, Automotive Technician Training, Network Systems, etc.) The Category list needs to be dependent on the degree type and the Program list needs to be dependent on the Category list. I need to have values that will submit to my form but ONLY for the Program List. For example: <option value="CECS">Cisco</option> <option value="CEIT">Information Technology (General)</option> <option value="CEMS">Microsoft</option> <option value="CENSYS">Network Systems</option> Please note that I must use these program codes as values and I cannot use the option name as the value. This does not have to look good, it just needs to work as it is for internal use only within my company. This form will never be used by random web surfers. If someone can point me to a tutorial for a good triple drop down that will pass ONLY the values of the third list, that would be great! Thanks! This code does not work "correctly" in IE It does work "correctly" in Firefox I need something that will work "correctly" in IE and Firefox I have looked high and low but have come up with nothing.... Also I don't know if it is possible but I would like to find something that changes the font color of every previous selection that has been made not just the last one. Has any one seen anything like that???? |
