JavaScript - Code Is Slowing Down After A While

Context: I have a dedicated GPS tracker that records every 3 seconds my location. What I want to do: Find the country, postal code, province, street and place from every coordinate. What my codes (javascript) does so far: - Create tables and inserts the coordinates into the table - Retrieves the country, streets etc from google with geocoder.geocode - Updates the tables with country, street etc. What is my problem: The first 1-50 retrieves is going quick, after that it slows down and after about 300 retrieves it is very slowwwwwwwwww. When I refresh my html page and start over, it is again quick to retrieve the data but will slow down again. I am using a time-out so that I am retrieving no more that 1 coordinate per 2-3 seconds. Because after I refresh the page and start directly over again, I do not think it is the limitations of retrieving from Google. I also canceled the writing to the database and only showing in the console the results and that is slowing down also after a few retrieves (so I think it is not a database problem). I am not a programmer and my code will probably not be 'clean'. I could realy need some help with this. I could send you my code so that you can try it yourself. Simple but horrible example: Suppose that every time you retrieve the data from the geocoder you set a timeout for the next retrieval. And then every time you fill in the tables, you *also* set a timeout for the next retrieval. That means that on the 2nd retrieval you will end up doing *FOUR* timeouts. And every 3 seconds you will be doubling the number of retrievals you do. Now clearly if you were really doing the above you would slow down horribly within 20 or 30 seconds. But suppose it is something more subtle than that, where you only do an extra timeout under certain conditions. That could very well explain it. That's not the only possible explanation, but it's where I would start. Maybe start logging the time, to the millisecond, of each retrieval...and see how many retrievals you are doing and how often. For that matter, just dump those numbers to the screen to see what they look like. Similar TutorialsI've written some code to execute a loop. It's all standard stuff using a for loop but the problem I have is that it is executed too quickly. Between each iteration of the loop I want to insert a "pause" of, say, 40 or 50 milliseconds. I initially tried the setTimeout() function but I soon found out that wasn't right for use within a loop. I'm trying to get my Client Side Firefox DHTML app to display a list of eBooks. For this, i have the following files F:\Textbooks.html F:\eBooks.txt F:\FirstBook.txt F:\SecondBook.txt F:\ThirdBook.txt textbooks.html is my DHTML app eBooks.txt is the Library file with a listing of all of my eBooks. From time to time, I need to send password information or login details and password information to some users. At the moment, am doing it via email with a subject named FYI and the body of the email basically just contain the login and the password or in some case, just the password. What am wanting to know is whether I can put these information into a HTML file which contains an obfuscated Javascript with a button that a user will click that will prompt for his login information and then will display the password. In its simplest form, I guess I am looking for a Javascript that will obfuscate a HTML file that contains the password. Anyway, hopefully someone understand what am looking for. I found some website that offers such service as obfuscating a HTML file but am hoping it can be done via a Javascript so it is at least "portable" and I do not have to be online. Basically, this script validates some things before the info gets sent off for processing. Two things... 1.) I added a second email field on my checkout page named "email2". What can I add to this code to check if the values are the same, and if not, return an error with an alert link the others do. 2.) there must be an easier way to code this. Also, I would like to make sure validation, where they only can input numbers but whenever I try, it doesn't work at all. I am new to programming. I am on chapter 2 of eloquent javascript book. I solved this exercise in the chapter and I just need some assessment and nudge. Although I think the shorter code is the better but this thought is not informed. Here is question and the codes to follow: Write a program that uses*console.log*to print all the numbers from 1 to 100, with two exceptions. For numbers divisible by 3, print*"Fizz"*instead of the number, and for numbers divisible by 5 (and not 3), print*"Buzz"*instead. When you have that working, modify your program to print"FizzBuzz", for numbers that are divisible by both 3 and 5 (and still print*"Fizz"*or*"Buzz"*for numbers divisible by only one of those). I have yet to work out the hint the author gave (these are just my own cooking based on understanding from chapters 1&2 of the book). FWIIW I would always go for clarity, even at the expense of relative verbosity. One day you or someone else may have to modify your code.
