JavaScript - How To Set Chrome Extension To Expire After X Amount Of Days?
Similar TutorialsFirst off I apologize If this is in the wrong section of this forum. So I got this concept that I think Is pretty cool. I dont know If there's anything like It out there, If there is, let me know. This is the concept: You click the icon and down pops a map in which there's a circle (like this: imgur: the simple image sharer) You can resize the circle and move it around. Underneath the map there's a box where you can type your search. Let's say you search for "puppies" in Brooklyn, New York The idea is that It'll scan all the coordinates inside the circle and search for photos in google images containing those coordinates in the GPS info (EXIF).This can be useful If you for example wants to search for photos taken in your city, or even in your neighborhood. I can see many uses for this. The thing is, I don't know any programming languages so I can't do this myself. I don't even know where to start. I'm looking for a kind soul to help me with this, I don't have any money so I'm not looking to pay anyone to do this for me. I just want some help getting started, or if someone would be kind enough to do It for free. (Though that Is very unlikely.) Thanks in advance! Sorry for my bad english, it is not my native language. I want to download text file generated in a textarea here my download.php file code structure goes : <?php if(empty($_POST['filename']) || empty($_POST['content'])){ exit; } $filename = preg_replace('/[^a-z0-9\-\_\.]/i','',$_POST['filename']); header("Cache-Control: "); header("Content-type: text/plain"); header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="'.$filename.'"'); echo $_POST['content']; ?> and the javascript used (function($){ $.generateFile = function(options){ options = options || {}; if(!options.script || !options.filename || !options.content){ throw new Error("Please enter all the required config options!"); } var iframe = $('<iframe>',{ width:1, height:1, frameborder:0, css:{ display:'none' } }).appendTo('body'); and the script.js $(document).ready(function(){ $('#download').click(function(e){ $.generateFile({ filename : 'export.txt', content : $('textarea').val(), script : 'download.php' }); e.preventDefault(); }); by these assets i created a web page consisting a TEXTAREA , by entering some text on the textarea and clicking on the download button , a text files is generated and downloaded on the user's system, I packed the source code as a CRX file to use it as a CHROME extension, but while using the extension, the files are'nt generated, while the webpage works absolutely fine !!! when user populate info it will appear like this: ------------------------- chkbox | name | number ------------------------- radbtn | MJ | 234123 radbtn | MD | 343543 radbtn | AB | 453466 Is uncertain that how many info will appear as its from database. I am able to enable the radbtn with chkbox by getting radbtn name. How can i enable only the selected radbtn textbox under name and number in order for user to edit it ? thanks anyone who can solve it! Hello, I'm working with a cooking script that redirects a user if he has already visted the page. Currently, it's set to expire every 24 hours. However, I'd like to have it expire at midnight everyday. How would I change this? Code: <script> num_days = 24; function ged(noDays){ var today = new Date(); var expr = new Date(today.getTime() + noDays*60*60*1000); return expr.toGMTString(); } function readCookie(cookieName){ var start = document.cookie.indexOf(cookieName); if (start == -1){ document.cookie = "seenit=yes; expires=" + ged(num_days); } else { window.location = go_to; } } var go_to = "/development"; readCookie("seenit"); </script> Since the upgrade from chrome 9 to chrome 10 my script is showing an error in my variables when i use boolean expressions. they changed to version V8, Chrome's JavaScript engine. I have 2 dates in variables (formatted like 'Wed Jan 18 2012 01:01:01 GMT+0000 (BST)') I need to minus them to get the days This worked if they were in the same month var amountOfDays = date.getDate() - datefirst.getDate(); However if the dates where in 2 different months it doesnt work. How would i do it better 2 months? Hello, I have a textbox with a date formatted 'dd/mm/yyyy'. I want to be able to add days to the date so that the month ticks over if the days exceed the days in the month and the year also if the month value passes 12. Currently I have the below. This adds to the days but will not tick over the month. Any help please. Thanks Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function calDate() { var dateArr = document.getElementById('testinput').value; var myDate = new Date(); var day; var month; var year; day = dateArr.substring(0,2); month = dateArr.substring(3,5); year = dateArr.substring(6,10); if (day.charAt(0) == '0') { day = day.charAt(1); } if (month.charAt(0) == '0') { month = month.charAt(1); } myDate.setDate(day); myDate.setMonth(month); // January = 0 myDate.setFullYear(year); alert((myDate.getDate()+28)+ "/" + (myDate.getMonth()) + "/" + myDate.getFullYear()); } </script> </head> <body> <a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="calDate();"> click</a><input type="text" id="days" value="0"/> </body> </html> I am trying to figure out how to calculate the date 30 days ago. I also will need to be able to change the interval. Anyone have a piece of code that does this? Hi Guys, Is it possible to add a certain number of days (determined by a select box option) to a date in the format of Thursday, 26 January, 2012 ?? Thanks I'm just trying to add X days to a given date object. However, it's not the right answer (did it in PHP to check, and my PHP version works). dateObj = new Date (month + '/' + day + '/' + year); // Grab the object for a given date datestamp = dateObj.getTime(); // Get millisecond timestamp newDate = new Date (datestamp + (1000 * 60 * 60 * 24 * parseInt (daysToAdd))); // Add "daysToAdd" days to the date alert (newDate); It's not daysToAdd days away... Any help is greatly appreciated. I wrote a version not using the Date () object, but rather an array of the days in each month, and then subtracting each month until "day" was below 31, etc. It's a lot less efficient than this method though :P I am attempting to create a javascript code that will write out the lyrics to the popular Christmas song, The 12 Days of Christmas. Here is what I have so far; Code: <?xml version = "1.0" encoding = "utf-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns = "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>ITS 200 Project 5: 12 Days of Christmas</title> <script type = "text/javascript"> <!-- document.writeln ("<h1> The 12 Days of Christmas </h1>"); for (var i =1; i = 12; i++) { var day; var addline; var gift; var pastline; switch(i) { case 1: day = "first"; addline = "A partridge in a pear tree."; pastline = "and" + addline; break; case 2: day = "second"; addline = "Two Turtle Doves"; break; case 3: day = "third"; addline = "Three French Hens"; break; case 4: day = "fourth"; addline = "Four Calling Birds"; break; case 5: day = "fifth"; addline = "FIIIIVEEE GOOOOLDEN RIIIINGS!!!!!!"; break; case 6: day = "sixth"; addline = "Six Geese-a-laying"; break; case 7: day = "seventh"; addline = "Seven Swans-a-swimming"; break; case 8: day = "eighth"; addline = "Eight Maids-a-milking"; break; case 9: day = "ninth"; addline = "Nine Ladies Dancing"; break; case 10: day = "tenth"; addline = "Ten Lords-a-leaping"; break; case 11: day = "eleventh"; addline = "Eleven Pipers Piping"; break; case 12: day = "twelfth"; addline = "Twelve Drummers Drumming"; break; } // end switch if (i==1) gift = addline; else { gift = addline + "<br>" + pastline; pastline = gift; } // end else document.writeln("<br>On the" + day + "of Christmas<br> my true love sent to me:"<br> + gift); } //--> </script> </head> <body> </body> </html> I have no idea why only the heading is coming up!? This is probably a really simple question. Is it possible to initialize x amount of variables. Like someone enters 10 into an input box and it makes 10 variables called variable1, variable2, variable3, etc. How would you name them? variable + num = 0; ? Thanks! Hi is there a way to only allow a certain numeric amount to be entered into a text input? i.e, Like nothing over 20? Thanks I have a piece of code for adding categories to a shopping site, which was working fine but now doesn't submit after I made changes to try to validate the type image chosen for that category. I'll post the original and then changed code, anyone think they can see why it's not running? Code: function checkCategoryForm() { with (window.document.frmCategory) { if (isEmpty(catName, 'Enter category name')) { return; } else if (isEmpty(catDescription, 'Enter category description')) { return; } else { submit(); } } } Code: function getFileExtension(filename) { var ext = /^.+\.([^.]+)$/.exec(filename); return ext == null ? "" : ext[1]; } function checkCategoryForm() { with (window.document.frmCategory) { if (isEmpty(catName, 'Enter category name')) { return; } else if (isEmpty(catDescription, 'Enter category description')) { return; } else { if (getFileExtension(fileImage) = '.jpg' || '.jpeg' || '.png' || '.gif' ){ submit(); } else { alert("Enter this image format is not allowed, only .jpg, .png or .gif"); return; } } } } Thanks! Please help I am a newbie and need some assistant. I'm trying to get a full date. In this script I want the user to be able to enter a date and get a 1000 day result a full (date) mm/dd/yyy.
