JavaScript - Javascript And Struts 2 <s:submit Action=>problem

Hello
I am using js and struts. In an struts html tag I want to get the value of another element with the document.getElementById("elementName").value. But what is the syntax to have that executed as part of the value attribute? When I try the below, I just get the full string and not the execution

What needs to be done to have the below input (red) passed to the forms action (blue) when the submit button is pressed. Obviously this should be the user input value and not the default 0.00 one.

I'm trying to achieve what seems pretty simple, I have achieved both aspects successfully by themselves but together I have not

I am trying to submit a form data via post, then I'm also trying to redirect

I have got the window.location working

I have the database writing working however I can't seem to get them to work sequentially

I think the reason is that the post action redirects to itself, then the initial setinterval request is gone

I try to do the sequential action this way

So, either the data posts and I'm stuck at the same page, or it redirects and the data doesn't post

What am I missing? I read that to have multiple functions by one click, you separate them with a semi-colon as I have done

I think as I mentioned that the key is the post to PHP_SELF which "nullifies" the redirect request eg. it never existed

So what do I do? Also I'm not after the time interval, I was just trying to find a way for a user to be notified "Hey you're going to be redirected" by an alert (which I had this pop up working as well) then when they press okay, they are redirected. Ideally the user enters data, data is stored, pop-up, hit okay, redirect

I've searched high and low for this through Google, and tried piecing together some solutions, but 1) I'm way too incompetent from a Javascript perspective to take two ideas and make them work and 2) I've spent close to 2 hours and dont have a solution. SOOOO I thought I'd ask the geniuses here for some ideas:

I have a page with an iFrame called portalCalcFrame that I'm trying to submit data to to do some calculations and preview in the iFrame before actually submitting the page to the next...well...page (both the "Recalculate" button to send to iFrame and the "Next Step" button to submit it further into the process are on the main frame). So I've got two problems.

A) I need to submit a form to a different target, aka portalCalcFrame

B) I need to submit the form to a different "action" page than my form actually submits to. (The form submits to a page called step2.php, whereas the iFrame needs to load page calcframe.php and have the form submit to that)

I don't really know where to start, Javascript is far from my forte. I've taken it a couple of different ways.

Any ideas guys? I love you long time. Thanks in advance!

I want to submit form using javascript but as I see javascript doesn't work in php loop. I use this code:

and it works fine in ordinary page, but stops working in php loop! I need to use link, not button to submit form.

I am not familiar with javascript only html, but I have researched this problem and found some solutions, but I am unsure what to do with them.

I have an html checkbox form that lists book titles. The user will click on the checkbox next to the titles that interest them. Then when they click submit, I want a pop-up box to appear with the titles they selected in a printable list.

This code has worked for me when the form is a textarea or a label, but I don't know how to use it with a checkbox form. I know that labeling the form "my input" only works for textarea or labels, so I understand why the pop-up menu says undefined. What do I need to do to get the checkbox data to appear.

Is it possible for JavaSscript to toggle a submit button?

I have a simple form and am validating onchange and need a final validation onsubmit. I am displaying a message to the right of the inputbox on error.

As you may of noticed, I am a bit stuck on my validateForm() function. The code validates on each inputbox onchange event. Not sure what is the best way to go from here. I thought about doing an If for my both single input box validation, but I would need to send each parameters which is what i was trying to avoid by using this. Would like some suggestions.

I have created a php script that POSTs to another page sendmail.php which then redirects to a thanks/successful page.

Is it possible to have the form submit and return a thank you message on the same page.

First, thank you to anyone that can help. Basically I am trying to create a Cascade Dropdown with a submit button, that once clicked, takes them to a URL depending on the choices they made in the cascade dropdown.

I have the cascade dropdown working properly but do not know how to create a submit button that says, "If Cookeville = Cosmetology; then go to this URL." Any ideas or suggestions? I will need to create this type of conditional statement for each choice. My code so far is below. Thank you again in advanced.

Hi basically i have this invite code which when a member copy and pastes the javascript code into browser it auto selects all friends and send an invite.

The problem is that the user has to do this manually, is there a way i can create a clickable button which when they click it automatically pastes the code i want into browser and submits?

I have a jsp which has a function gets called during the page unload.
This jsp has a form with an action attribute to one servlet.
Please find below the code snippet.

Whenever the page gets unloaded always logoff function is getting called. I also get the alert message "Submitting the form". But my servrlet does not get invoked. My application supports logging in with the same user id more than once.

Scenario it works: User logs in. Close the application. logoff function is called and servlet gets invoked.

Scenario it does not work: User logs in one window. Open one more IE window and and open the application with same user id. this can be repeated. Now when i close the application logoff function is called for all of the window close. But servlet does not gets invoked all the time. Sometimes it stops calling servlet.

I have searched over the net and found one solution.
Below piece of code will make sure form gets always submitted.
