JavaScript - Noscript And Form
I have a simple form and the noscript tag I have inserted is displaying as not valid as it is within the form section. Where could I place the noscript tags.

I am using xhtml strict. If I place it after the form tag, will it still work if javascript is disabled? Similar TutorialsOk, I have an ajax form that uses "onkeyup" in an input to display dynamic data. I want to change the value of the input to "Enable javascript" if the user has javascript disabled. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? Thanks, somniculouse So I was going to comment on another thread that was up a few days ago, but it is resolved and figured best to not repost on it anyways (can you repost on a resolved thread?) anyways... it was this thread and as rnd_me said the <noscript> tag is only supposed to be used in the body. So the reason I began thinking of this is because I am coding asp.net and using a master page. I cannot have <head> tags in the child pages because they get their <head> tags from the master... so i ran into the issue of redirecting clients if they do/do not have js enabled. the problem is if i use a script in the <head> on the master page and then the children get it, everytime a user clicks a link to goto a page they will be redirected to the default js page (script that redirects will be placed on every page). So I am playing around with how to do this the easiest and thought of that thread and thought, well if my default page is the "js enabled page" then i can put the noscript tag in the body and it will redirect users to the non js page and then i no longer have to worry about using the script in the <head> tags... am I making sense? upon further thought though you can put <script> tags anywhere, it is just generally placed in the <head> <-- this is an accurate statement correct?.... so i guess my question/reason for this post is to get feedback... i think it might be a "6, half-dozen the other" situation and just pend on "my style" but do you guys feel (keep in mind that this has to be done outside the <head> tag and inside the <body> tag) it is better to have default page be for script disabled and have a <script> which redirects, or the default page be js enabled and use the <noscript> tag? It also has a noscript tag in case the user has JavaScript turned off. Works great in all browsers I've tried, but it doesn't work at all in IE8 (nor IE7 emulated). Even the noscript content isn't showing up. W3C validator shows no issues. No little exclamation point warning in IE's bottom-left corner. I've even tried lowering the browser security with no change -- but that wouldn't have been a good solution if it had worked anyway; I can't tell my visitors to lower their browser security. Hello everybody, What I have been trying to incorporate into my site is that if a user has javascript turned off, it redirects them to another page. This is what I have found but doesn't seem to work. Code: <NOSCRIPT> <meta http-equiv=”refresh” content=”0; URL=AlternatePage.cfm”> </NOSCRIPT> When I test it out it shows on the page like this: meta http-equiv=”refresh” content=”0; URL=AlternatePage.cfm” Basically shows the same thing without the tags. It doesn't take any action at all. Any ideas, tips, or advice? I don't have any access to the root directory so SSI is not an option at the moment. (Do plan of hosting it on a dedicated server when I have the money ) I have a 'show more' link on my page and wish to allow users who disable javascript to automatically see this normally hidden div as the link obviously will not work. is this possible ? the info in the hidden div will be taken from MySQL databases. I have two questions... Question 1 How can I make this piece of script act a little smarter. Look at the order form, I'm catering for up to 4 people and providing lunch for them. If they select 3 people and the spaghetti bol for lunch, it's only adding $10 where it should be adding $30. Obviously this is simple multiplication but since the values in my form are prices it makes it a little tricky. I'm guessing an onselect on the first part of the form which changes the pricing of the other items would be the way to go, but how do I do this? Question 2 The "Total Price" is placed before the <form> tag by the script. This is ok but it's not where I want it. How can I position this text elsewhere in the document? Thanks in advance! I've literally tried everything. Read 26 tutorials, interchanged code, etc. My validation functions all work. My AJAX functions work (tested manually using servlet URL's). The second servlet validates the reCaptcha form that's generated on my webpage. After the form is validated, even if everything's correct, nothing happens upon clicking submit. I even have an alert pop up if with the captcha result, just for middle-layer debugging purposes. I want to do all of my validation clientside; none serverside. However, going to be tough if I can't get my god damn form to submit. I've been puzzled by this for close to 36 hours straight. I've set up a mock registration form page so I can learn a bit about javascript's form validation. (newbie) I want to try to attempt to style the border of a form field green when the user enters the correct info into the form text field and red on all other fields if the user doesnt enter any info into them. When i test it, enter the right info into the username field, leave the others blank, and hit the submit button it styles the username field green ok but it doesnt make the next fields (password and so on) red. Could someone please explain what I am doing wrong? here is my code so far... Note: just for testing purposes I've put return false on everything so it displays a message when everythings ok. Hi, I have a working contact form with 3 of the fields requiring validation and they work well. I have added extra fields to the form (StatusClass, Project, CameFrom). These 3 fields return fine but I need to validated them. My problem is that the new fields don't show in the behaviours/validate panel even though they are within the form tag. Hello all, I have a multistep jquery form that validates user input and then should send me an email. Problem is, right now, I can only get it to validate the first page, then it sends the email before the rest of the pages are viewed. I'm just trying to delay the submission of the form until the "submit_fourth" button is pressed. I've got $25 via paypal for the one who sticks with this one for long enough to come up with a workable solution. Here is my code... I know it's a lot, but I wasn't sure how much would be helpful. Hello, I have 2 things I'm trying to figure out. 1. First form on the page has questions with radio buttons. Each radio's value is a number so a score is assessed at the end. 2. I am using a WordPress plugin to automatically send the contents of the form to email. It works without the javascript enabled. But when I turn on JS the form gets validated, but no email is sent. Please let me know if I should include anything else here... I've been looking at this code so much that I'm having a hard time doing it with fresh eyes. They then click a 'Book Now' button which creates a dynamic url (using their start date and the number of dates) to the booking engine. The problem is, the way it accomplishes this (window.location.href=), breaks cross-domain tracking on Google Analytics. And I'm not smart enough to figure out how to do it any other way. What I'd like to do is have clicking the Book Now button change the URL in the form action within the form with ID resForm, and then submit the form. I'm a long time lurker on here just barely created an account to ask this question. I work at a call center, and we use different webapps to fill out tickets. One I've used for a long time allows dynamically updating forms with javascript. That code will fill out most everything in that ticket, leaving me to fill in the details. I have one of those for all of the most common tickets, and can create and finish a ticket in less than 30 seconds when it takes others 3-4 minutes. I recently switched to a different system and I'm having trouble with my code. I'm a noob at javascript for sure, but I'm not new to programming. Anyway any pointers would be nice. The system we use doesn't allow me to see the source... I'm not sure how to explain it. It loads everything in a frame. In chrome I can right click then inspect element and get the ID but it the above javascript doesn't work. Hello, I am using a simple form to submit values to another website. This has been working without any problems. I now have added a second form to the page. I have separated the text boxes and duplicated the information from one form to another. The problem is, when I click on the link that use to submit the information, nothing happens. Before the addition of the new form a new window would open with the search that I had submitted. Am I missing something to point to one form or the other?
