JavaScript - Submit Button Doesnt Work On First Click

The page used to "post" the information checks for specifically what form button was pushed to submit the form before executing the appropriate code. I am automatically submitting the page when the enter key is hit, but it is defaulting to the first option of executed code in the post page. Example - I have an "update" button and a "delete" button on the form. On the post page, I first check to see if the delete button was hit. When I press enter on the form, it simply answers yes to the first question (did they click the delete button), and the code is executed. I really wanted to emulate that the update button was hit. The reason we need to use a jquery/javascript action to add the class to the navigation is because it doesn't refresh when a new page loads. For instance, when you're on the home page and click on the tab "Experience RGW", it only loads the content for that page below the header (within the "#ajax" div). Currently, none of these scripts are working. There is no reason they shouldn't... could there be something else causing the page not to recognize the jquery script and run it on-click? Now, it is sort of working the way I expect. When the button is clicked, it creates the new div, starts the id at 0, and increments the div id each time the button is pressed afterwards. It also displays the text (buttb.innerHTML) in the new div. However, it only increments the id of the same div, it doesn't create a new div under the first one. What I am hoping for is: click 1 : <div id="newdiv0">0</div> click 2 : <div id="newdiv1">1</div> click 3 : <div id="newdiv2">2</div> etc What it is doing: click 1 : <div id="newdiv0">0</div> click 2 : <div id="newdiv1">1</div> (newdiv0 disappears) click 3 : <div id="newdiv2">2</div> (newdiv1 disappears) What am I missing?
