Similar TutorialsHi All, I am not an expert in Javascript. Can I detect if 1 or more sessions of a website are open? for example, if a session with port 7005 is open like this one below, then I want to assign the next port to this user in the second window of browser http://90.97.8.0:7005/maximo/webclient/login/login.jsp the next IE window should appear like this: http://90.97.8.0:7006/maximo/webclient/login/login.jsp or http://90.97.8.0:7007/maximo/webclient/login/login.jsp Please advise. Thanks Yasar Hello, Really need some help with this code i found online to check to see if a page exists. i am kind of new to Javascript and to have this working would really help me out! Here is the code : Code: <script language="javascript"> var url = "http://www.google.com"; checkUrl(url); function checkUrl(url) { var request = false; if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { request = new XMLHttpRequest; } else if (window.ActiveXObject) { request = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHttp"); } if (request) { request.open('GET', url, true); if (request.status == 200) { //FAILING ON THIS LINE ("Unspecified Error") alert ("File does exist"); } } alert("File does not exist"); }</script> It seems to be failing on the .status line and it returns an Unspecified Error in the debugger. I am using IE9 if that makes any difference. I have also tried amending the IF statement to include the readyState == 4, i dont get the error, but it doesn't work as planned. Really appreciate any help. SJG Hello, through a javascript injection im trying to find out if a cookie exists on my computer. What I want to do is check if a DOM element has a css property like border-radius and then add a class to it. The problem I'm having is that I don't know how to check for the css property. I've been searching for it for a couple of hours now and I can't find anything that seems to work. Any ideas? Greetings, If I have a form like so: Code: <form> <input type="text" /> </form> How can I check if the input exists using DOM 0? Code: while (document.forms[0].elements[0].exists){ ...do something } I guess that I could assign a default value and check for something in "document.forms[0].elements[0].value" but that is not the approach I wish to take. I need to loop through all of the elements of a form until there are no more regardless of ID/name/value, am I thinking about this wrong? Hey guys..... I found out how you can check if an array value exists but I can't seem to get it to work with the options array for some reason. Any help on how I can find out if a certain select value exists? Thanks! I'm not entirely sure this is possible. I hope it is, and it doesn't seem to far-fetched or impossible. With JS, how would one go about checking if a user has DivX Web Player installed? Usually people put in code within the embed, so if it the player doesn't load, it would have the message behind stating the fact. However I haven't seen this used at all with DivX, instead, you see pop-up boxes, whether installed or not, stating "Don't have DivX Web Player? Get it here for windows or mac" I find this extremely annoying, and would never want such informalities on my website. is there a way to do this with javascript ? I'm kind of new to Javascript, I need to open a text file from an external server, store each line in an array, then search that array for a certain word (HIGH), and if it exists then write something to the webpage, and if not, write something else. Is this possible with Javascript, and if so, what am I doing wrong or not doing? Also, I have 2 URLs, one is a text file that has the HIGH text I want for an example, the other is the current file, which shouldn't have HIGH in it (unless the weather in the US turns really bad) hi.. I want to have a list of words (in an array or whatever just to work) if the user put that word in a textfield (onblur or onchange) a message popup (alert) appears. (Must be popup alert) but I dont know to code it. HELP! ex.: Code: function badwords() { var badwords = new Array(); badwords =["badwords1","badwords2","AndSo-On"]; if badwords if written in textfield alert("Badwords not allowed"); else nothing happen just continue with next textfield } <input type="text" name="" onBlur=badwords()> Anyone please help Hi guys. I'm working a bunch of pre existing code on a CMS. Just after a quick fix. Doing a show/hide thing on a particular div somewhere on the page depending if a checkbox is ticked or not. Currently there is 3 checkboxes that are dynamically added through the CMS. Here's simplified version of the form: Code: <form id="simplesearch" name="simplesearch"> <input type="checkbox" onclick='showhidefield(this.value)' name="meta_data_array_search_criteria[custom_profile_type][]" value="5" class="input-checkboxes" /> <input type="checkbox" onclick='showhidefield(this.value)' name="meta_data_array_search_criteria[custom_profile_type][]" value="4" class="input-checkboxes" /> </form> And here's the javascript I was playing with. Code: function showhidefield(id) { if(document.simplesearch.meta_data_array_search_criteria[custom_profile_type][''].checked) { document.getElementById("profile_fields_wrapper_" + id).style.visibility = "visible"; } else { document.getElementById("profile_fields_wrapper_" + id).style.visibility = "hidden"; } } Problem I'm having is how do i do a check to see if those checkboxes are checked in the javascript with those name arrays? How do i separate them? 'm guessing I have to loop through them or something?Hopefully that make senses - it's late here and I'm losing the plot Any pointers would be gratefully welcomed Hi to All, I have two menus, related each other, in this way: <head> var sum_db = new Object() sum_db["email1"] = [{value:"I01 - Problems of one level", text:"I01 - Problems of one level"}, {value:"I02 - Problems RDM", text:"I02 - Problems RDM"}, {value:"Free Text", text:"Free Text "}]; sum_db["email2"] = [{value:"I03 - Various", text:"I03 - Various"}]; // // function setIssue(chooser) { var newElem; var where = (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer") ? -1 : null; var Iss_Chooser = chooser.form.elements["iss_sum"]; while (Iss_Chooser.options.length) { Iss_Chooser.remove(0); } var choice = chooser.options[chooser.selectedIndex].value; var db = sum_db[choice]; if (choice == "email1") { newElem = document.createElement("option"); newElem.text = "Choose an issue ..."; newElem.value = "Choose Issue ..."; Iss_Chooser.add(newElem, where); } for (var i = 0; i < db.length; i++) { newElem = document.createElement("option"); newElem.text = db[i].text; newElem.value = db[i].value; Iss_Chooser.add(newElem, where); if ((choice == "email1") && (db[i].text.indexOf('Free Text')==0)) { document.getElementById("label_des").style.display=""; } else { document.getElementById("label_des").style.display="none"; } } } // </script> </head> <body> <form> <select size="1" name="mess" id="mess" onchange="setIssue(this)"> <option value="email1" selected>email1</option> <option value="email2">email2</option> </select> .... .... <select id="iss_sum" name="iss_sum"> <option value="<%=objRS("Issue_Summary")%>" selected><%=objRS("Issue_Summary")%></option> </select> <label for="iss_des" id="label_des" style="display:none; vertical-align:top">Description:<textarea id="iss_des" name="iss_des"><%=objRS("Issue_Description")%></textarea> </label> My problem is: I would like that if I select ONLY email1 and ONLY the option "Free Text", appears the textarea with label Description. Up to know if one selects email1, automatically the textarea appears near for every option; it seems that the condition of the if is not respected !!! Thanks a lot in advance !!! I have this simple php array. The array will dynamically pull results from the db in the future. PHP Code: <?php $dataArray = array ( 'id1' => array ( 'icon' => '<img src="images/piicon.png">', 'app' => 'GGP', 'timestamp' => date('m/d/y'), 'location' => 'Bellevue', 'comments' => 'It works!', ), 'id2' => array ( 'icon' => '<img src="images/piicon.png">', 'app' => 'Meijer', 'timestamp' => date('m/d/y'), 'location' => 'San diego', 'comments' => 'It works!', ), 'id3' => array ( 'icon' => '<img src="images/piicon.png">', 'app' => 'Point Inside', 'timestamp' => date('m/d/y'), 'location' => 'Boston', 'comments' => 'I guess its working? Maybe not exactly what we want yet though?!', ) ); echo json_encode($dataArray); ?> Currently if I have 100 results in my array, 100 results will be added to the table, 75 = 75 rows etc. What I am trying to plan out is a logical way to display one result from the array at a time. I am not looking for a chunk of jquery as an answer, better yet would be a plan/idea a programmer would you use to solve this. PHP Code: $(document).ready(function() { setInterval(function() { // get data $.ajax({ url: '/ajax/data.php', type: "GET", cache: false, error: function(data) { $("div#error").html('error: '+data); }, success: function(data) { var jsonObj = jQuery.parseJSON(data); jQuery.each(jsonObj, function(index, value) { var newRow = $("<tr><td>"+value.icon+"</td><td>"+value.app+"</td><td>"+value.timestamp+"</td><td>"+value.location+"</td><td>"+value.comments+"</td></tr>"); $("#mainTable tbody").prepend(newRow); }); } }); }, 5000); }); thanks Hey. I have a string and I can return say, the fourth letter with output[3], but i can't assign a value to it for some reason: I am trying to make hang man Code: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <script src="jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ var word, output, wordLength, stringLength, newLetter, letters; var i, n, k, health, wcheck; word = "word"; output = ""; letters = ""; wordLength = word.length; for(i = 0; i < wordLength; i++){ output += "_"; } $("#inputLetters").keyup(function(){ newLetter = $("#inputLetters").val(); $("#inputLetters").val(""); letters += newLetter; wcheck = false; for(i = 0; i < wordLength; i++){ if(word[i] == newLetter){ wcheck = true; output[i] = newLetter; } } if(wcheck = false){ health++; } $("#letters").html(output + "<br />" + letters); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <span id="letters"> </span> <br /> <br /> <input id="inputLetters" type="text" /> </body> </html> Well after much trial and error I come asking for help. I am trying to write a greasemonkey script that scans a page for all the values between certain <td> tags. When I used firebug it shows what I am looking for as <td class="username">THEUSERNAME</td> but when I view the source it just shows up as <td>THEUSERNAME</td> I want to create an array of the 100 <td>'s on the page that pertain to usernames but none of the other <td>'s I created a test page that mimicked the code, what I thought origionally, to be so I could test my script with ease. And it worked when there was an actually <td class="username"> This is what I have so far: Code: // ==UserScript== // //Displayable Name of your script // @name EXAMPLE // // brief description // @description EXAMPLE // //URI (preferably your own site, so browser can avert naming collisions // @namespace http://something.com // // Your name, userscript userid link (optional) // @author ME // //Version Number // @version 1.0 // // Urls process this user script on // @include http://example.com // ==/UserScript== var test = document.getElementsByClassName('username'); alert(test.length); test[5].style.color="yellow"; //Just to see if it actually worked I have been banging my head on the wall with this one for a few hours. I mostly only program bash so this is a new world for me. I am trying to have a script check a list of zip codes(preferably from a file) and if it is there it passes it to an order page and if not it goes to another URL. The basic idea is to check if you are within a service area before you can purchase a product. I have gotten nowhere fast with this so any help you can offer would be appreciated. |
