JavaScript - Onsubmit Stop Form Display Error Message
Hi guys im trying to give users a warning message with javascript when the submit my login form without inserting any new data.

Similar TutorialsI am trying to create a form that writes text to an HTML canvas when submitted. Eventually, the function that writes the text will be more complex. The problem is the text only appears briefly, because the function is only called once when the form is submitted. I want the function to be called continuously after the form is submitted. I've played around with the events to get the submit button to work in FF, IE, Chrome and Safari -- and I've gotten the enter button to work before with some stock code, but here's the catch: when the user presses enter, i want the focus to leave the input box. I don't care where it goes (submit button, I suppose?) but i need it to leave the input field so the onfocus="clearText(this);" event can fire when they return to type in a new income. Any ideas? Basically on my index page it has a button which when clicked makes use of gradeit(). Currently this then used displayMessage(msg) which opens a new window and displays the message. However, what I want it to do is to open another created html page e.g. answer.html and then for this page to display the message. How do i do this? I have the following form working with on onsumbit function, but I would like to change it so that instead of having to click the purchase button to see total price, you only have to change the quanity text box input. Hi, I am a newbie in JS, and have already been stuck with this problem for the whole day. Basically I want to display a var returned from a function with <fmt:message/> tag. It sounds easy, but somehow I just can't get it to be display correctly (Tried with alert() and it worked). And when it is not filled in, the border of the textboxes and dropdownlist would turn red, followed by an alert message notifying which field have not been filled in. Else, the border will revert back to black, and the form will be submitted successfully. There's a problem whereby when everything is filled in, the alert message still pops up. i wanted to add an error message to it, that comes up underneath the <div id="responsecontainer" align="center"></div> that says "Error" with an id number next to it, then when your mouse goes over it a box comes out saying "there was a problem retrieving your information. the game will continue trying to resolve this" and then underneath where it says error i would like it to say the number of attempts it has tried to recollect the information. obviously i would only like this error message to come up, when it cannot refresh the information. Any help is appreciated Hi, I have dozens of pages on my website which have just started showing an 'Error on page' message at the bottom left of Internet Explorer 8.0. These messages do not appear when using Mozilla Firefox. My website is www.lakesandcumbria.com and an example of a page showing the error message is http://www.lakesandcumbria.com/view/walks/ambleside.htm which contains a javascript drop down list. All other pages using this type of drop down list are showing the same error message (dozens of them). I have ensured that 'Script debugging' is disabled in Internet Explorer but this hasn't helped!
