JavaScript - Onsubmitform - Passing Form Data To A New Destination

Hi, I am trying to pass data from one page to the next using a search. I have a search engine and im trying to get it to pass the data of the search to the search results page. im using this code Code:

I have a script that opens up another window and a task gets executed, all of that is fine, but is there anyway that the parent window (the window that gets open) can pass data to the window that opened it? (I pretty much want to enable a button on that page)

I'm trying to use a javascript tabstrip script called aptabs, which uses prototype.js. However, prototype.js won't load properly, because the following error occurs in prototype.js:

destination is undefined

on the following line (3042):

destination[property] = value.methodize();

I'm stuck! - I have a search form, that when data is entered and submitted, the data is sent to another page! - this works well see eg below.

My problem is, I have a piece of javascript called "greybox", it basically loads an external page, dimming the first page and focusing on the external - see eg below.

The new window can be called via either a href "rel" link or an "onclick" command.

I have tried implementing the the two together but when I use the javascript to call the new window the data from the original form is not passed over! - this is what I have so far...

Hi All, i'm attempting to code using Java script a simple trading bot to use for automatic trading. Im new to javascript but not to programming.

I have to pass data to the server to login and to trade and have managed to read the xml data returned in order to check prices from the non secure side of the site.

The data to be passed is in the form;

"https://live.bullionvault.com/secure/j_security_check?j_username=XXX&j_password=YYY"

I can open another window by having this in my code but wish to stay within the program window i'm using for the bulk of the program.

I need to style a checkbox, so I made it into two images behind a form with hidden inputs. On click the form takes input from the other form into the hidden fields and POSTs it. Then I use PHP to grab that POST and put it back into the original form.
Here are some snippets of what I am trying to do:

First form input:

Hi, I am quite new to javascript but I'm quite sure this problem is very easy to solve.

I have a vague idea of what might be going wrong but I have no idea what I should be doing instead. Here is what I'm trying to do:

User inputs X and Y coordinates into form
validate that they are numbers
do a little bit of maths
redirect to a php script with a single variable tacked onto the end of the url

The number validation works but the url ends up as map.php?start=NaN.

Now, this simply must be the way I am assigning the Xcoord and Ycoord variables with the document.getElementByID() function I am sure.

But like I said, I have no idea what to do instead, any help is massively appreciated.

I am new to JS and usually learn by studying code posted online and modify it to have it do what I need. Recently, I used a totaling plugin for an online ordering form which does the below:

item1 qty(user input text) * preset price = total price
item2 qty(user input text) * preset price = total price
item3 qty(user input text) * preset price = total price
--------------------------------------------------------
grand total
--------------------------------------------------------

The JS code which passes the grandTotal variable is as below:

I have tried to pass just the source var from within the <script> tags.

Any help that can be offered I would be grateful, ultimately I would like to be able to pass all these values to hidden fields.

In one variable i have some data ex: var data = document.getElementById("imageId").value;

I want to pass this data to another function inside another function ex:

while running the application i am getting an error incase if the data is string ex:if data is 'image1' i am getting an error, but with number there is no problem ex: if data is '1122'.
