JavaScript - Code Issue
For some reason I can not get this code to dump the information I type in into the mysql database...I'm sure I've missed something but can't seem to figure it out on my own. The mysql username & password are correct on my end & the fields match the mysql table column names.

any ideas why this wont work? http://www.engtechjobs.co.uk/candreg.php Okay, I've posted the code with just the two fields needed to solve my problem. If I type in a date of 04/16/2011 in the "sentence date" field, then click the calculate button, the date 03/05/2011 is displayed in the "Due to Reviewer" field. It subtracts 42 days from the date enetred into the "Sentence Date" field. My problem is, sometimes when I type in a date in the "Sentence Date", such as 04/16/2011, 42 days prior falls on a weekend & I need it to always be on a weekday. So with that said, is it possible to put some type on function in the code where if the date falls on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), it will roll back & display Friday's date? I've been fighting with a jQuery slider all day, and it's going nowhere because admittedly I have extremely limited jQuery knowledge. I am really hoping that someone here is better at this than I am and can tell me why I see a list of the items that should be in the slider stacked up on top of each other rather than seeing the actual slider. Hi guys, I have a little experience in Javascript and would like to learn a bit more etc. I am currently working for a company which wants me create / find a image scroller using javascript and jquery. I found one which seems very suitable... I have customized the CSS and have coded it all up... The problem i'm having is that the image scroller is scrolling 3 images at a time. I would like it to scroller one at a time whilst showing all the images... Example scroller: [ pic 1] [pic 2] [pic 3] [pic 4] after scroll [pic 2] [pic 3] [pic 4] [pic 1] after next scroll [pic 3] [pic 4] [pic 1] [pic 2] and so forth. If you look at this code you will see what I mean... please help me learn and please help me complete this... im sure its just a little adjustment... but me not being too great at javascript... it makes me feel like im shooting in the dark. This post will contain a few guidelines for what you can do to get better help from us. Let's start with the obvious ones: - Use regular language. A spelling mistake or two isn't anything I'd complain about, but 1337-speak, all-lower-case-with-no-punctuation or huge amounts of run-in text in a single paragraph doesn't make it easier for us to help you. - Be verbose. We can't look in our crystal bowl and see the problem you have, so describe it in as much detail as possible. - Cut-and-paste the problem code. Don't retype it into the post, do a cut-and-paste of the actual production code. It's hard to debug code if we can't see it, and this way you make sure any spelling errors or such are caught and no new ones are introduced. - Post code within code tags, like this [code]your code here[/code]. - Please, post the relevant code. If the code is large and complex, give us a link so we can see it in action, and just post snippets of it on the boards. - If the code is on an intranet or otherwise is not openly accessible, put it somewhere where we can access it. - Tell us any error messages from the JavaScript console in Firefox or Opera. (If you haven't tested it in those browsers, please do!) - If the code has both HTML/XML and JavaScript components, please show us both and not just part of it. - If the code has frames, iframes, objects, embeds, popups, XMLHttpRequest or similar components, tell us if you are trying it locally or from a server, and if the code is on the same or different servers. - We don't want to see the server side code in the form of PHP, PERL, ASP, JSP, ColdFusion or any other server side format. I'm trying to get my Client Side Firefox DHTML app to display a list of eBooks. For this, i have the following files F:\Textbooks.html F:\eBooks.txt F:\FirstBook.txt F:\SecondBook.txt F:\ThirdBook.txt textbooks.html is my DHTML app eBooks.txt is the Library file with a listing of all of my eBooks. Inside of eBooks.txt is the following data: ----------------- FirstBook.txt, SecondBook.txt, ThirdBook.txt, ----------------- FirstBook.txt to ThirdBook.txt are my actual ebooks. The problem that i'm having is that When i try to click on any buttons other than the FirstBook button, i get the following error: ---------------------------------- Error: unterminated string literal Source File: file:///F:/Textbooks.html Line: 1, Column: 10 Source Code: LoadEbook(' ---------------------------------- So, unlike clicking on the FirstBook button, these other buttons do not load the eBook data into the DIV for displaying the eBook data. I use the DOM insepector to checkout the DOM of the button code, and it seems like whitespace maybe is the problem. From time to time, I need to send password information or login details and password information to some users. At the moment, am doing it via email with a subject named FYI and the body of the email basically just contain the login and the password or in some case, just the password. What am wanting to know is whether I can put these information into a HTML file which contains an obfuscated Javascript with a button that a user will click that will prompt for his login information and then will display the password. In its simplest form, I guess I am looking for a Javascript that will obfuscate a HTML file that contains the password. Anyway, hopefully someone understand what am looking for. I found some website that offers such service as obfuscating a HTML file but am hoping it can be done via a Javascript so it is at least "portable" and I do not have to be online. Now, the above works absolutely perfectly in Internet Explorer - when the checkbox is ticked, it displays the bottom row exactly as I want it to - i.e. as the next row in the table. However, in Chrome, Safari and Firefox it seems to display the whole row as a cell on it's own so distorting the entire table structure. I suspect it is something to do with the use of the id="lastRow", but I am not sure. The strange thing is that the HTML source is of course the same for both. Can anyone shed any light here? Basically, I want to DYNAMICALLY pass some Cyrillic characters (such as Алла Пугачева) at the runtime to the javascript function, as following: Current text encoding setting is Cp1252 in JAVA IDE. response.getOutputStream().println("<script>test('" + testCoding +"');</script>"); If the testCoding is normal latin chracter (such as "abc, xyz"), this will work, so that at the runtime, it will execute the funciton test(param) and passing the parameter, "abc, xyz" to the javascript function test(param). The frontend javascript function test(param) will further display it as: field.innerHTML = param; But if it is the Cyrillic characters (such as Алла Пугачева), it won't work. The "Алла Пугачева" will be passed as the garbage character and displayed as so. How can I in the java class DYNAMICALLY set up the encoding so that the sysytem at the runtime will acccept the Cyrillic characters. I would believe I need to setup such ancoding as UTF-8. But I do not know how to? OR, How can I process the Cyrillic characters (such as Алла Пугачева), in the javascript function so that it can be displayed properly?
