JavaScript - Pass Id Like Passing Value
Is it possible to pass the id onChange like in this example instead of the value

The first case that i showed in my code is a radio button, and it passes correctly, i just wanted to show the "format" i was using in a working sense. The 2nd case is an example of the check boxes. Hi, I have what I assume started as a simple error and then trying to fix it I think I have made things so complicated I've become confused. I have two fields, a drop down list and a text field, when someone clicks on a value in a drop down list (I will show the results eventually but at the moment) I just want the result to echo in my getCategory.php and the same for the text field. Both php pages are currently being called. And at the moment contain $_REQUEST['category'] and $_REQUEST['ProductName'] respectively. Nothing is being echoed. Dear all, I'm passing the variables myTitle and myLink to form.php using javascript. When this happens it's not passed. In the case of the title, it's just a problem of looks but in the case of the link, well, the link won't work without the character. In javascript, I don't notice those specifics typed in functions. Is the "default" by value when using in a function to change a parameter? If it is, what is the syntax for using by reference, or is that ever used? You'll notice at the beginning, the functino loadXMLDoc. This function GETS the contents of a text file, which is the path to the directory the user is browsing. The next function is populateParentWindow. This is the function that dynamically updates the div that displays the files and folders of the current directory so they can see their file has been uploaded. At the bottom of the above line, the : upload_url, I need it to contain the contents of the text file also, but in a POST value, like the UID, something like, directory=thedirectory. But, when I try Code: $(function(){

It gives me an undefined, right off the bat before any uploading, or anything at all takes place. I'm guessing this is because this value is set on page load, and not before the actual upload actually happens. Does anyone have any ideas how I can set this value when the upload begins with the variable from the text file ? Keep in mind it has to be inside the function it's in now or it wont work. Note that the loadXMLDocument function isn't called until the upload is complete, the .bind at the bottom of the page. I've tried pulling it from the text file several ways, setting the document.title to the current directory and calling it in the function, it just always seems a step behind me or undefined. As you see I get JSON from the_key.txt and assign in to a variable. I call this variable later in the script but it doesn't seem to work. I did Code: alert(accessToken); after I put Code: $.getJSON( "the_key.txt", function( data ) {
accessToken = data.access_token;
and it worked and gave the correct string. But when I call accessToken in the initiateUpload function it does not work. AS shown he Code: function initiateUpload(e) {

Any ideas how to solve this? Hey I have a JS value but it won't put the value in the brackets when i try to get the element by ID instead it is looking for the id named the same as the variable name. Here is what i got to explain better: Code: function fill_div(v)

It ends up looking for id v instead of id 1:0:3. Any idea how i correct this ? I want to pass the value to my object id = "Parameters" How can I do that? You can ignore a lot of the code as it doesn't factor into the question... and I know that re-ordering the code can eliminate my problem (but I can't re-order it because defining the formats MUST come before "renderMenu" or else it doesn't work - and I don't want to use two loops - one to define the formats and another to define the menu). Thanks! -- Roger Hi All, I am a newbie to Javascript, I have a text box which when searched with 3 characters of vendor name will do ajax request and populate the results below the textbox, beside the box are two arrows pointing to a selectbox, when i clcik on the right arrow after the search the vendor name should to added to the select box.... similarly after i add required vendor names, I should be able to delete the name from the select box. I have completed the ajax search part of the textbox, and I am stuck with the passing value to the selectbox portion. Anyhelp will be appreciated. thanks in advance! |
