JavaScript - Add Comma Delimited String To A Hiddenfield On My Page
I have a gridview that displays client data. The first column on each row for the gridview is a checkbox. The second column on the gridview is client name and the third column is account holder. The user can select checkboxes (on multiple rows) to modify data (account holder).
I want to add clientName column value in a comma delimited string to a hiddenfield on my page. How do I do that using javascript, as I do not want to use postback and looping through each row on the grid to get the checkbox status. When a checkbox is checked, it should append the hiddenfield value. I am a newb on javascript. Please review my javascript code and suggest corrections. I am getting the hiddenfield value as blank no matter what checkboxes are checked. I also know that my code is not targeting the correct row to get ClientName (row where checkbox is checked). Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks. Code: function RowClick(CheckBox) { var BaseControl = document.getElementById('<%= this.myGrid.ClientID %>'); var TargetControl = document.getElementById('MyHiddenField'); for (var i = 0; i < BaseControl.rows.count; i++) { var rowElem = BaseControl.rows[i]; for (var x = 0; x < rowElem.cells.count; x++) { var ClientName = rowElem.cells[1]; if (CheckBox.checked) TargetControl.Text += "," + Case_Id; } } } Similar TutorialsI would like to find some direction or help to solve an issue I have. I would like to find a way to search for a string of content on my webpage and return the string, or at least part of the string into the URL... Example of the content on my page: ----- Welcome, John Adams Log Out Welcome to your own content, based on your settings provided. Feel free to download the content you need. ----- Fairly straightforward. Now I would like to create a function that will look at the page and "copy" the string of content beginning with "welcome" and ending with "out" Next, I would like to remove the "welcome," and "log out" and have the name remain. Then, post the name into the URL to be passed onto the next page for me to use as more personalization/dynamically driven content; Such as: http://www.noname.com/index.html?string=John-Adams Hopefully you can help. I want to - after the page has loaded - detect a text string in the code.. something similar to Code: function afterPageLoadsDetect() { Quote: Simply put -- I want javascript to detect a text string in the source code and return it to me -- AFTER the page is fully loaded. THANKS. Hi, I have a page with an iframe in it. I need my script to search the contents of the iframe for a specified string, and click the link within it. Here is my coding. Code: <script> setTimeout(function() { window.location.reload(); }, 2000); // 2 seconds, e.g. $(document).ready(function() { $('a[href*="13468100"]', $("game").contents()).closest('tr').find('.fightActionInnerInner').parent("a").trigger("click"); }); </script> </head> <body> <iframe src="http://vl.storm8.com/hitlist.php" width="100%" height="800px" id="game"></iframe> In the post below is the content of the iframe. At the moment the script doesn't want to click the link, it just refreshes the page. Can anyone advise? Hi there! I'm trying to retrieve the integer value in the string: #10 So I'm using the JS Split function Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var str="#10"; document.write(str.split("#")); </script> Is the code I'm using, but I keep getting a comma before my result.. in this case, my result is ",10" What should I do? Thanks! Kind Regards Matthew P.S. I know that it's an array, but is there still anyway for me to get rid of the comma? hi I have one text box , it can have values like 1 or 1,2 or 1,225,345,21 ie multiple values so ......But now i want textbox should validate weather values entered by user are proper toString().match(/^(([0-9](,)?)*)+$/) This is code i'm using its validating correct only ,but one problem when user enter values like this inputval:1,22,34,25,645, the last comma is not validating it should through error can any one help me plz Hi All, Using Dreamweaver CS4. I have a web form that is submitted and then we pull up the information in excel using delimited fields. The problem with this is the end user will use commas (even though we have messages that say do not use commas) which messes up our data in excel. I created some code for a different field where commas were more frequent but there are new fields that users are adding commas into. Anyways, I can't figure out exactly how to code this and was wondering if someone could work out the kinks for me: My code: Code: if ( trim( frm.elements["ShipToBuildingRoom."] ).length < 4 ) oops += "You must enter your Building and Room information.\n"<br> var val = frm.ShipToBuildingRoom.value.replace(/[^\d\;\,]/g, "" ).replace(/\,/g, ";"); frm.ShipToBuildingRoom.value = val; Hey all, I have a simple example below showing how when I pass in the value of the value attribute of option node, and then use if operator to check whether parameter is a string or not, even though it's a string, it converts it to false boolean and triggers the else statement rather than calling a function: Code: <body> <select> <option value="createMsg">Add Message</option> <option value="removeMsg">Remove Message</option> </select> </body> Code: var menu = { handleMenu : function(callback){ if(callback === "string"){ menu[callback](); } else { console.log("Issue occurred") } }, createMsg : function(){ var content = document.createTextNode("Please give additional information."), heading = document.createElement("h1"); heading.appendChild(content); document.body.appendChild(heading); }, removeMsg : function(){ } } document.getElementsByTagName('select')[0].onchange = function(){ menu.handleMenu(this.value)}; callback should be a string so why is it saying otherwise? Thanks for response This is probably easy if I knew Javascript. Can someone show me the code to get the number "800014352" part from the url???? http://testebiz/ebizbtest/ShoppingCa...2/Default.aspx I need help with the following code below. It just doesn't turn out okay. Any ideas? Code: function changing() { A = document.exempel.Amount.value B = ("<%#Container.DataItem("Price_2_qty")%>") C = ("<%#Container.DataItem("Price_3_qty")%>") D = ("<%#Container.DataItem("Price_4_qty")%>") E = ("<%#Container.DataItem("Price_5_qty")%>") if (A < B) {document.exempel.Price.value = "<%#Container.DataItem("Price_1")%>"} else if (A = B && (!(A >= C))) {document.exempel.Price.value = "<%#Container.DataItem("Price_2")%>"} else if (A = C && (!(A >= D))) {document.exempel.Price.value = "<%#Container.DataItem("Price_3")%>"} else if (A = D && (!(A >= E))) {document.exempel.Price.value = "<%#Container.DataItem("Price_4")%>"} else if (A >= E) {document.exempel.Price.value = "<%#Container.DataItem("Price_5")%>"} } I was looking at this page, and came across "%" used in strange context. It appears that the mod operator can be used in Strings?? http://download.oracle.com/javase/tu...vaOO/enum.html What does this do/ mean? Thanks!!: System.out.printf("Your weight on %s is %f%n", p, p.surfaceWeight(mass)); I am trying to use some string functions with no results. It appear what I'm using them on are not strings. my_string = document.getElementById("link5").onclick; document.write(my_string.lastIndexOf("5")); This gets nothing! And document.write(document.getElementById("link5").onclick.lastIndexOf("5")); gets nothing. BUT if I make a string and put what the onclick is set to with: my_string = "function onclick(event) { reveal(\"5\", \"2\", \"1864\")"; then my_string.lastIndexOf("5") will yield 34. So why is my original my_string = not working? And how can I get it to work? I am using javascript to search for the '*' character in a string (ie. 'username*:') but using search('\*') does not work. How do I search for it since the search function takes a regexp argument and * messes that up?
Hello, I need your help. How could I write a functional if statement such that it would check against a series of various word strings seperated by commas ie. function check(y) { //y = "FOR INPUT" var string_to_check = FOR INPUT, FOR ACTION, FOR APPROVAL if (y isin string_to_check) { return 1 } } Thanks for everyones help. J When comparing an empty string "" to another string like "1232", javascript is returning true. Why is that?
Hi guys im new here i have a project about searching string im am going to use javascript the program should look like this. Enter first word: abcd Search in first Word: ab then pop up ab found then if i type like sdg then pop up sdg not found something like this plss how can i do that Hey guys, I need some help with fetching a string to be the button text from the html, instead of building it in the javascript, so I can localize it for translations. Right now I have this generating the button: Code: <input type="button" id="share_validate_button" name="share_validate_button" value="<?php echo __('Test Share'); ?> " /> The function __() I am using for the localization stuff, in case you were wondering what that was for. Anyways, below is the JS associated with this button Code: function share_validate_click_add () { $('#share_validate_button').removeAttr('disabled').attr('value', 'Test Share').one('click', function(){ xajax_settings_osb_data_windows_verify(xajax.getFormValues('data_info_form')); $('#share_validate_status').html(''); $(this).attr('disabled', 'disabled').attr('value', 'Testing Share...'); }); } This will display the correct value for the button, and on click, the button disables and text changes to 'Testing Share...' The only problem is the JS overrides the value I set in the html, so I can't localize it. I was wondering if there was a way for me to set the two values (Test Share & Testing Share...) in the html above where we set id and class, and just fetch them in the js where needed. Is this possible? If someone can help me I would really appreciate it! Thanks! Hi, I'm coding a program to help people at my office to update the database, and the idea is to copy the content of an excel file and generate an sql from that, but I'm having a bit of trouble splitting the info into different tables: When copying everything the empty cells are read as tabulated, so I made a for that searches for more than one tabulator in a row (or find a \n and a following tabulator character) to split the info into several strings and format the info into a sql table, but I'm stuck he Code: var X=document.getElementById('opc'); var z=X.value.length; for(i=0;i<z;i++){ if(X.charAt(i)==' '&& X.chaAt(i+1)==' '){ char=X.value.substring(0,i-1); break; } } I tried with X.value(i) but I get the same error 'X.charAt is not a function', can someone tell me what am I doing wrong? Thanks. What would the best be to split the following string: "only(a-z,A-Z,1-9)" I want to split it into a array to look like this: array(only, a-z, A-Z, 1-9); Hi, I'm working on refining my search function. At the moment it works fine like this: Code: function searchLocations() { var found = false; var input = document.getElementById('autocomplete').value; for (var j = 0; j < gmarkers.length; j++) { if (gmarkers[j].myname.toLowerCase() == input.toLowerCase()) { found = true; gmarkers[j].show(); myclick(j); } } if ( ! found ) alert("No matches found. Please check your spelling or refine your search."); } but you have to get the input exactly the same as it is in the array for it to work (as it should, being that that's the way it's written). I wanted to split it so that for example Black Cat Hotel would pop if the user entered Black OR Cat OR Hotel (or any combination of the above). So I thought that this might work: Code: function searchLocations() { var found = false; var input = document.getElementById('autocomplete').value; for (var j = 0; j < gmarkers.length; j++) { var s = gmarkers[j].myname.toLowerCase().split(" "); if ( s == input.toLowerCase()) { found = true; gmarkers[j].show(); myclick(j); } } if ( ! found ) alert("No matches found. Please check your spelling or refine your search."); } but obviously not. Is there some better way to do this? |
